Title: Gensou Shoujo Taisen Keyboard Controls Don't Work?

I was trying to get back to replaying the first Gensou Shoujo Taisen game, since I never beat it, but for some reason keyboard controls don't work at all, only my controller. While controller controls are nice, it defaults to using the analog stick for movement instead of the d-pad, and while I can normally fix something like this by using JoyToKey, it won't work here because the keyboard controls refuse to work. Does anyone know why this is the case?
