Title: Labyrinth of Touhou 2 Trouble [SOLVED]
Post by: Tangrelle on February 09, 2015, 07:24:59 AM
I'm kind of in a pinch. I was super excited to find out that the english patch had been pretty much translated after not being around for a long time, so I got my Labyrinth de Toohoo going and all.

My problem is when I launch the game, it says my Intel Graphics display driver crashed and I get no image from it. Music plays, I can hear my inputs function but the display is just a blank black screen. It's somewhat frustrating. I rolled back my driver to the Basic Windows one and the game is functioning, but the problem with that is I don't want to play through the whole game at 10-15 fps, which is what it moves at then.

Is there any way to get the game to display with my current graphics card? It's called a uh Intel(R) HD Graphics Family I think, if that helps, and I'm happy to supply more information about my laptop if that helps. It's a Lenovo Y40. Please let me know! Thanks!

Update the Intel driver to the latest version (download the exe): https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24596&lang=eng&ProdId=3720
Also doesn't the Y40 have a dedicated GPU? Try using that.

Thank you so much! It appears my computer wasn't using the GPU, so you helped me find how to switch that on. It's running so wonderfully now! Thanks again!

Np.
I'd still recommend updating the Intel driver. since stuff like your web browser will use Intel graphics, and dedicated GPUs don't work well when the laptop isn't plugged in.
Also you might want to consider updating your GPU driver (http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+8.1+-+64). For AMD, the latest driver is the Omega (14.12) driver.
