Title: Miku Expo NY
Post by: Rin Kagamine on October 12, 2014, 01:01:34 PM
With Miku Expo LA now in the books, let's talk about Miku Expo NY (http://mikuexpo.com/ny) this coming weekend.  One concert on Friday night, one on Saturday evening, and an art exhibition running from now through next Sunday means a full weekend of uninterrupted Vocaloid love.

I'll be up in the city all weekend (going to the Saturday concert).  Any other MotKers going to this?  We should meet up and talk about how touhou is so much better than vocaloids grab some food or whatever.

Probably more hype about this than I should be, but I couldn't focus at work last Friday, so this coming week at work will be hell :<

I'll be there in spirit. And by that I mean I'll be drinking delicious /jp/sie tears as they rage and whine about normals ruining everything.

Oh hey, I was hoping one of these would show up evebtually.  I'm also doing Saturday as it happens.  I hope to have a Kaito cosplay finished by then so during the concert at least I'll be in that.  Hoping to hit up Wallplay as well for the exhibit there.

My wallet is going to cry bitter tears.

I'm sure the normals will be really interested after this

Rad. I'll be at Wallplay first thing on Friday, and then around as the spirit takes me.

Meet and greet? Sure. Not going to concert though, unless I buy a ticket off of ticket master resales.

In the city nau. Maybe gonna do Wallplay, Kinokuniya and the Museum of the Moving Image tomorrow since my concert ticket isn't until Saturday. Nothing is ironclad though except that I want Go Go Curry in my facehole at least once this trip.

How do sections work for standing room?  Kinda confused how my ticket has one listed when standing room is usually just a big clump of people.

Dunno, did you get VIP and is it GA2?

VIP was sold out like a couple hours after reg opened, haha so no sadly.

I'll have to look up my section.

EDIT: GA4 here.

I dunno, maybe they've just gotta have something there for recordkeeping?

That was my thought, maybe related to making sure not to exceed capacity or something.

101 A, seat 4. Off to the side, which is a problem with light shows, but at least it's front row.
I thought standing room would be like a mass of people.

Got some cool おみやげ from some cool Japanese dudes, met the guys from #UltraMiku, ate some curry, bought Miku merch and am well into developing cool new callouses on my feet. Tomorrow is actually the concert!

Some friends went tonight, messaged me this advice: Go super early, you can stand in the front, they don't check.
From their pictures, the standing room appears to be the floor space in front of the stage. It's probably better to be on the floor than the seating areas for visibility and hearing the songs.

VIP was never promised the VERY front like in the LA show, instead they just get into the building first. Yesterday everyone lined up at the merch booth as soon as they got in, so if you care more about the concert than merch then you'll probably be closer to the front. Otherwise, you'll probably miss out on the merch

Stuff was gooood.  Totally worth it.  I have a new gameplan for next time, too.  Was a ton of fun though.
I attended as a modded v3 Kaito myself.

Concert was worth it, really enjoyed the set list. Was good to meet Vic and others.
Only downside was couldn't find Jq#s, asked many Kaitos but didn't find the right one.

Next time we'll have to swap numbers or something.

Really liked the setlist myself too, though tjere's one song I want to see them perform eventually; ODDS&ENDS.  If I get to see/hear a live rendition of that...THAT would be even more amazing.
