Title: Touhou Labyrinth 2 - Framerate Issues
Post by: E Dog on July 04, 2014, 05:27:22 AM
I've been trying to play Touhou Labyrinth 2, and while the game seems to work properly when I start a new game, the framerate drops to 30-40 fps as soon as I enter the dungeon. When paused or in Gensokyo (ie. not exploring or fighting), it runs at around 45 instead, which is still not ideal. I've heard that this can be helped by starting and running it without any other windows open, but for me, that doesn't seem to help. Adjusting the performance settings on my computer doesn't have any effect, either. Does anyone here have any suggestions?

Relevant information
Operating system: Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5-3317 (1.70 GHz)
RAM: 4 GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7550M (1024 MB dedicated video memory, 2801 MB total available graphics memory)
System locale: Japanese
Game version: 1.203 (with the latest translation patch)

Any assistance is much appreciated!

P.S. I probably won't have internet access for the next two weeks, so I may not respond for a while. Sorry about that, I will when I get back.

Turning off dungeon effects and the graphics enhancement settings in the options makes a HUGE difference. For me it makes nearly all dungeon exploration run at a smooth 60 FPS while battle frame rate really depends on what spells get used (they slow down the game a bit but not so much as to make it frustratingly unplayable). Try adjusting those and see what happens?
