~Girl are taking their leader's orders, please wait warmly~
I think 2 months is a nice little time frame from the last contest to start a new one.

What is this contest about?
The servants and followers of Gensokyo are loyal to their leaders. Taking their orders day in and day out. Their leaders are everything to them and will do anything for them. They train with them and for them. It's time though that they are taken seriously!

The Objective
Your objective of this contest is to create a boss fight with a minimum of 3 non-cards and spells using a character who follows another character. Examples are:
Youmu, Reisen, Orin, Okuu, Shou, Nazrin, Seiga, Futo. I'll explain this a little further below.

Special Rules/Misc. Information
- Any coding engine is welcomed, as long as it runs on Windows or works via wine. Danmakufu is preferred, but I realize not everyone wants to code in it. If you are coding it Danmakufu, either .12m or PH3 will work!

-Characters must be official and follow a character that has appeared in the games/official works.

-Characters must also include one spell that represents their master/leader.(The master/leader may appear in a spell to meet this requirement)

-Valid contest characters include:
Religious Followers: Futo, Shou, Murasa, Seiga, Soga, Nazrin, Ichirin. (These characters follow their respective leader: Byakuren and Miko)

Slave/Servants/Workers: Sakuya, Youmu, Reisen, Komachi, Koakuma Chen, Ran, etc. (If you have a question, PM me about this.)

Pets: Orin, Okuu, Tewi, Reisen Sakuya

*The Chen and Reisen Clause*
If a character has multiple masters/leaders or her master has a master(Chen's case), you can choose either one to make the spell off of. [Brownie points if you do a spell for both] (I mean if you have Reisen, you can make a spell that represents Kaguya or Eirin, and for Chen you can do either Ran or Yukari).

I'm also leaving the "her master has a master" only to those with a master because I don't think Yoshika really follows Miko, she just takes orders from Seiga who just follows Miko, and Miko doesn't own her... if that makes sense.

Deadline
Tuesday May 6th

Good luck and be sure to PM me with questions!

(making a few minor notes and being this isn't bumping..):
-If you're banned and you'd still like to participate, we can somehow make that work if the mods wouldn't mind.

-Added that the characters have to be official.

-I also kept mixing up Seija and Seiga, fixed that so there's no more confusion...

Good god there are going to be two contests with deadlines two days apart.

(I will whip up an Utsuho once I've butchered the rest of my Artifact 2)

P.S. Would Kyoko technically count as one of Byakuren's followers? Just wondering.

Would Kyoko technically count as one of Byakuren's followers?
It'd be a close one there, I'll say it'll be fine if you do use her.

I won't be able to do much coding during April, but I guess it can't hurt to try. What about characters like Tewi (to Eirin/Kaguya) and Patchouli (to Remillia)?

Ah yes I forgot to add pets, those will be allowed to, but I'll have to object to Patchouli, Patchy's Remilia's friend, not her servant or pet in any way.

But I'll more so say Tewi only to Kaguya because Kaguya treats all the rabbits like pets c:

I don't know if I have the time to participate (the finals are coming up, and I kind of need to study), but I'll see what I can do. ^^
I have an idea of who to use as a boss at least. :D

Seeing I've completely miss the fact that college students are having finals relatively soon(I'm in High School with Trimesters, so this hadn't crossed my mind) , I will extend the deadline further out, (will be decided). So before that's decided I want to get a good grasp if anyone is even interested in this contest.

Who does Seiga follow? She may have taught Miko Taoism, but I'm pretty sure she follows no one.

Anyway, I have too much going on to participate in another contest.

On second thought, there's no way I can get anything decent out of this. I'd only have had this week and next to work on it, and it turns I have the flu. I won't be participating.

OK, after careful consideration with my friend (Who will be judging alongside me), the contest is a go! Your deadline: Sunday May 4th I think I'm being rather fair with three weeks, good luck to all the contestants and enjoy! We'll be awaiting your entries!

Wait wait phantom, am i suppose to fight someone from the offical games and artwork who has a master , and one spell has to resemble their master?

And any player will do? Or is the player also has to have a master?like say the player is Komachi whos master is shieki VS youmo who's master is yuyuko? Like that?  ???

Yes, the character(and master) have to have appeared from Touhou in either print works or games, and the they must use a spell that resembles their master (note, it shouldn't be an exact copy of a spell they use) and Players will not be required. Defaults/Other Already Scripted players will do.

Many Thanks, Helepolis!

Either way, I'm going to do videos as usual for this contest.

Your link has a redirect loop, best to fix that, otherwise we'll have to null your entry.
Title: Re: Apprehensive Adherent Abasement! (Danmaku Coding Contest)
Post by: ShadowNCS on April 30, 2014, 01:21:16 PM
Ah, I'm terribly sorry for the redirect link. It was (and still is) working for me in Firefox, but yeah, for some reason it has a redirect with Google Chrome. I'll try to fix this right away! Thanks for telling!

EDIT:
Apparently, this is a really weird bug with Mediafire with Chrome. Everything works, but as soon as I try to access the file in Chrome (no matter if it is a direct link or from the directory this file is in), Chrome cries because of redirects...
I see what I can do, maybe I'll upload my entry somewhere else. Please have some patience. ^^

EDIT2:
Third time's the charm. Well, third link in total, that is.
Apparently, Chrome/ Mediafire/ the combination of the two can't handle the tilde "~" sign in names.
As I mentioned before, it works with Firefox, but in Google Chrome, it creates a redirect loop for some reason.
I changed the "~" with a "-" sign, and now it works (for me at least). Sorry for the inconvenience. ^^;

Aaand now... there's a extraction problem... just try uploading it to bulletforge, by the way.
Title: Re: Apprehensive Adherent Abasement! (Danmaku Coding Contest)
Post by: ShadowNCS on May 01, 2014, 09:42:21 AM
Wow. If there are technical difficulties, then there are a lot, apparently.
How did you try to open it? When I extracted it via the right click menu, it was working all right. But when I tried to extract it through the Windows Explorer (by just double clicking and copying the files to somewhere else), it didn't work for me, either. I have no idea what that caused. Outside of the "~" sign, maybe... I better never used that sign ever again. xD;
At least not for naming for .zip files. ^^;

Well, I didn't want to upload it to BulletForge because my game isn't a Danmakufu game, but this site kind of assumes it is.
I uploaded a new zip there now, though.
http://www.bulletforge.org/u/shadowncs/p/apprehensive-adherent-abasement-ncs/v/100

I hope everything works NOW. This is getting kind of ridiculous. ^^;

"She will turn all of fate's misfortune to nothing.
She will flood the earth with magic,
and take all of humankind into her play.
A moving stage construction.
If everything is a play, no unhappy things will exist.
It may be a tragedy, but it'll all be part of the script.
The play stops on the Scarlet Devil,
and the earth does not turn even once more.
The story will not change.
Tomorrow, and the day after, is the eternal night of full-moon."

Congratulations to the winners! ^^

Ah, I guess I went "a little" overboard with the difficulty. ^^;
I thought it was doable, but I guess actually knowing how the patterns work since I've made them gave me more of an advantage than I thought.
Well, at least now I know that I should never make patterns so hard that I have trouble with them myself. Otherwise, they become unfair again (and that I shouldn't code when in RL stress). xD;
Thanks for the advice! ^^
