Title: Gensou Shoujo Taisen You / Fantasy Maiden Wars Mystic English?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if any groups were working on Fantasy Maiden Wars Mystic, also known as Gensou Shoujo Taisen You.  The series is definitely one of my favorite fangames, and I think it's incredibly well-made and deserves a translation patch considering how long it's been out.  I've been following translation progress, but it seems the last translation effort died for good.  The main problem wasn't a lack of translators, from what I could see, but a lack of hackers/programmers.  Is anyone still working  on the translation, and if not, would anyone be willing to take it up?  I would definitely appreciate it.

I could try to look into it, but at most we will only be able to translate the game up to v1.06, in v1.07 the creator encrypted his game so unless we have an expert at decrypting things we won't be able to translate it.

Hmm... I think that much would be fine.  I doubt too much changed between 1.06 and the rest anyway, although optimally, I guess it would be good if someone figured out how to decrypt it, especially if this is something that continues with the newer games too.

While I don't have any specific knowledge about GST2, mauve did crack the encryption on the GST3 demo.  this may or may not be of use: http://mauve.sandwich.net/misc/gsw3dump.cpp.txt

Apparently it's a 2-byte xorcrypt thru gamemaker.  mauve was able to extract OGG files from the files for the GST3 demo and play them back.

Someone there is translating but not patching, so you can at least read the English.
