It was announced today that he died in the hospital, of liver failure.

Apparently the Westboro Baptist Church plans to picket his funeral. This very well may be the last thing they ever do - all the lawyers in the world couldn't protect you from a crowd of angry, grieving Slayer fans.

We've lost a talented musician from a great age of music. I hope wherever he's going he gets to meet Dio, Cliff, and Dimebag.

Official cause of death was revealed today to have been alcoholic cirrhosis. Rumors that he was on a liver transplant waiting list were false, as were the ones that stated any relation between the death and the skin disease.
