Indeed, we met at last year's AnimeNEXT. It's a pretty good convention, but it needs more Touhou this year~
Anyway, about Katsucon's gazebo... I know this is going to sound selfish, but good thing I didn't go this year~! My studio has been discussing whether or not to go to Katsucon over the past several years now, and being a heavy photographer of cosplayers personally, going down this year, for lack of a better phrase, would have just plain sucked from the way things look right now.

And home safe from the con! Very fun time after a kinda slow and rocky start. I think finding the Luca (AT 2 Luca) was what made it awesome for me, given I was cosplaying Jakuri. Also, KD Sakuya is always awesome, if a pain in the butt to wear! Looking forward to pictures because hell if I have any :(.

Friendly neighborhood videocamera youkai here, I've started to upload my vids, but I have to screen them before I start linking because, lesson to other ascribing video people, a thirty dollar shoulder mount does not a steadycam make. Some of these I'm gonna have to toss before other people toss, which would be bad if they'd just eaten PEEPS or something. Anyway, stay tuned.
Edit: Also, what the frick was with all the Mustangs on the road in the DC area? Is there a bulk discount deal going on from Ford down there or something?

From what I've been hearing, the issues with JewCon got worse all weekend. Hopefully you guys weren't too affected.
They were awful yeah, but for the most part it was just an annoyance to me. The BBYO staffers I talked to were mostly cordial and I pretty much avoided contact as much as possible with their attendees. It was mostly bullshit caused by their meddling like elevator lines and photoshoots getting moved about. I've heard far worse things like people on dialysis getting denied access to the elevators closest to their rooms, cosplayers getting heckled and even costumes ripped off, and dumbass kids mooning people from atrium rooms. Katsu, for what it's worth, did their absolute best given the situation, same with the Gaylord. The fault 150% lies with BBYO.
Still though, I had an immense blast in spite of all of this. A+++++ will do again. My pictures are forthcoming same with my writeup BV

Phew~! From the previous photos, I had thought that my other friend cosplaying Ex-Rumia didn't make it to the photoshoot... I guess he was just blending in with the darkness. It's good to see that he showed himself in the daylight~ ::)
On a more religious note... my God, that has to be the most Sanaes that I've ever seen at a single convention together--with yet another friend of mine being one of them~! I'm glad to see that her outfit turned out as great as it looks here~
Looks like everybody had a great time (despite some apparent issues with the convention itself this year)~! It makes me happy to see that~ :D

While I'm leaning towards AB ATM, I might find myself short on funds for that if I go to a west coast exposition in April. In that case I'd be in Animazement as it's local for me.

I have to say it's really too bad some of the BBYO attendees had to be jerkwads towards the katsu attendees, but that still didn't justify the katsu attendees being anti-semitic fuckwits in retaliation. Hopefully the more mature people from both sides prevailed in all this.

Enough about the BBYO/etc stuff. If you're really interested in it I'm sure searching tumblr or twitter will get you more than enough stories and experiences. If you have a legit complaint, venting it here won't do any good, and if you were just annoyed or living vicariously through others being annoyed please keep it to your personal blogs and stuff.

Man you guys have the best cons overall, not so much as loud and obnoxious, (from the general impression I get), but people who come creatively in cosplay and having just as much fun as you can somehow fit in one box. Asian cons here are all COSPLAY AS ACCURATELY AS POSSIBLE, BUY BUY BUY BUY and TAKE PHOTOS AS SERIOUSLY AS POSSIBLE.

If I knew there'd be two other Sanaes on Saturday, I would have been Suwako. Too bad my costume got wet from walking in the rain to dinner the night before :(
I would have stayed for the second dinner but I had to leave already to go home after the Saturday shoot.
