Title: Onthenet's Projects (New stuff :V)
Post by: CK Crash on July 30, 2009, 12:01:49 AM
Most of these use the Shot Replace script (CtC version)

Final Last Word - EoSD (http://www.mediafire.com/?qwjn3ox2wmm)
⑨ (http://onthenet9999.googlepages.com/cirnaut.txt)

Last Words for EoSD characters. Ex bosses will be their own set.

Satori's Random Danmaku Generator - Template (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?djjwwmzm2mw)

Handy template that lets you make a random danmaku generator simply by adding tasks and changing a few arrays. Includes a few example attacks. My full version meant for playing is coming soon.

Phantasm Nue (http://sites.google.com/site/onthenet9999/Nue.zip). It's probably my hardest script yet (so basically it's like naut trying to make easy mode).

DMF Example Archive (http://bulletforge.org/u/onthenet/p/dmf-example-archive) UPDATE
Heavily commented, meant mostly for people who don't know where to start after reading the tutorials. Updated with Intermediate examples.

Reimu makes a sandwich. (http://sites.google.com/site/onthenet9999/sammich.zip)
Rate it on BulletForge as well. (http://bulletforge.org/u/onthenet/p/reimu-makes-a-sandwich/v/11)

Remilia. (http://bulletforge.org/u/onthenet/p/otn-remilia-scarlet/v/11) NEW
For charismatic people.

I came buckets and buckets at this.
Also, thank the gods that the central China did not fire anything (Normal version is enough for me, I dunno lunatic).

The last word cards are easy but then I haven't gotten a replay on China's yet because I fail at survival cards.

I'm not a bad enough dude to capture any of these. At first I thought I would be able to get Gorinto but then it got faster  :V

The danmaku rendition of Miserable Fate is pretty cool, I use that card like crazy in SWR.

With Rainbow's Shadow it's a little unclear where you're supposed to go, you have to pick one side of the stream to go to and one of them will lead to death, unless you can cross that crazy fast stream somehow.

I'm pretty sure (After 10 attemps, all failed) that you do have to cross the stream.
And here I thought at first that it was a poor man's Charming Siege :V

Post by: Stuffman on July 30, 2009, 05:00:55 PM
Nah, I'm pretty sure there's always a way you can go where you don't have to cross the stream, I'm just not sure how to spot it.
Title: Re: Final Last Word Project (EoSD complete)
Post by: CK Crash on July 30, 2009, 06:51:20 PM
Rainbow's Shadow is pretty much static aside from Rumia's movements (and she follows you horizontally anyways), so yeah, you just kinda have to learn the pattern. On Lunatic, I'm pretty sure you have to go through the streams at least once (which surprisingly isn't too hard, easier than Kaguya's crisscross Last Spell anyways) unless you're godly at spotting the path though. Since it's a Last Word, you can't expect a 100% cap rate anyways.

Fun fact: Lunatic Gorinto's only difference is that instead of a frame1 = -4; it has a frame1 =-3;. Surprisingly, this is more than enough to make it much much more evil :P

(Working on PCB's Last Words, they'll be even better than the EoSD ones hopefully)

(Working on PCB's Last Words, they'll be even better than the EoSD ones hopefully)

Hope so, capped all except China's on lunatic, which I just don't seem to have the patience for. Can't seem to cap them all (except China's) in one run though, which is unfortunate. Damn random angles dominate me. And, y'know, I'm shitting bricks after capping Rumia's and Cirno's in one go, so I'm shaking for the rest of the cards.

My intent for the Lunatic versions was to make Naut cry.

Mmm, not yet, though these were certainly a challenge. looking forward to your effort on PCB's cast, these were a blast to play.

Nah, I'm pretty sure there's always a way you can go where you don't have to cross the stream, I'm just not sure how to spot it.

There is. You just can't pull it off at wave 3, as far as I know, only because Rumia's too far left. Can't seem to spot it's repeat though, can only get it at a certain angular point.

That's fine though, since passing through the waves isn't the biggest challenge of that card... It's trying not to get nailed by those hard-to-see black bullets while you're passing through the rainbow.

Rumia's Last word is sex by the way. By far my favourite spellcard in Danmakufu.

EDIT:
I love you. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcleQ_cKr4w&fmt=22)

Rumia's LW: beautiful bullets, not very hard
Cirno's LW: great SC also
China's LW: Greatest amongst the six, normal is already more than enough
Patchy's LW: still nice but I think Patchy would not use card bullets after all :P
Sakuya's LW: great and BLUE knives are deadly traps
Remilia's LW: WOW.

I forgot to post.
Rumia's is sex. Just. Yeah.
Cirno's first half is meh, but the second half makes me hnnnggh.
China's is nice, I guess.
Patchy's is aesthetically awesome but doesn't seem very Patchy-like aside from COLORS
Sakuya's is sakljbkfjsdkfab awesome and the blue knives make you feel helpless. Incredibly Dio-like.
Remilia's is amazing and feels not only like a ZUN card, but like a Remilia card. Fashioned off of StB?

Actually it's about Super Mario World Central, not just Mario in general, It's basically loads of inside jokes plus loleasy danmaku (since most people who will play it don't play Touhou). I'll link to it here when I'm done, but I don't think it's anything that will interest most of you.

Satori's Random Danmaku Generator - Template (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?djjwwmzm2mw)

Handy template that lets you make a random danmaku generator simply by adding tasks and changing a few arrays. Includes a few example attacks. My full version meant for playing is coming soon.

Read through the instructions in the first post and enjoy! It is thoroughly commented, so anyone with a decent understanding of tasks and arrays should be able to use it.

Hey you posted it.

Cool stuff.  Like I mentioned before, your approach leads to a much more structured danmaku (as opposed to my chaos doom machine >:D ).

One thing though - fix your #include_function statements.

As-is, they will only work if the user puts the script in the same directory (within the Danmakufu script directory) as you had them in.  It's a simple fix, though:
For each of the #include_function commands that reference one of the files in your script set, start the file name with ".\" and give it a path relative to the main script file.

The two relevant ones in the main script file become:
Code: [Select]
#include_function ".\function\boss.dnh"
#include_function ".\function\array.dnh"

And the one in boss.dnh becomes:
Code: [Select]
#include_function ".\function\timeout.dnh"
This way, you don't have to force a particular directory for the script to work. ;D

So... Phantasm Nue...

What can I say? The way you expanded on the attacks is made of win, your original creations, likewise. Very win. Both the cards and non-cards. Despite the high difficulty (best I can do is a 2cc), it pretty much never feels unfair. The optical presentation is top-notch. Using my favourite arrange of Heian Alien as the bgm is just the icing on the cake.  :dragonforce:

I'm trying hard to think of some criticism for this one.
Well, you should probably add some additional delay before non-card #3 starts shooting, because otherwise you'll lure the player into a lethal PoC trap with that bomb item everytime.  :V

The non-cards where bullets fly up from the bottom of the screen could be improved by adding some sort of glow there before the shooting starts, otherwise people who haven't played it a couple of times will die instantly.

Ah, yes, another thing: You shouldn't use ZUN's orig(etc.).  :V

Also, the regular order of difficulty is:
|easy <<< normal < extra < phantasm < hard <<< lunatic|
I don't know why everybody seems to believe that a phantasm stage should be of lunatic difficulty, but I'm just nitpicking here because it is so hard to find realy flaws in you script.  :P

All in all, I can definitely say that this is the best release of the year so far.

*shot*
Title: Re: Onthenet's Projects (Happy Nue Year)
Post by: Blargel on January 03, 2010, 02:30:48 PM
Okay, now for a somewhat in-depth review on spellcard/attack design. I don't believe I found anything too bad about the non-spells except for something Iryan already mentioned: Give more warning that bullets are gonna spawn on the bottom of the screen. Perhaps you can make them start from the edges and move into the center where the player usually is. Your non-spells also need a bit of a delay before they start up to give the player a chance to reach the PoC without punishing them. Now for the spellcards.

Nightmare Sky "Heian Dark Sky"
Really really hard. The lasers give you like a 1/4 second warning before firing and the green lasers seem to appear out of nowhere in your face and block off any escape routes if you're unlucky. Luck seems to play a fairly big role in capture this attack, but I have managed to capture it a few times.

Unidentified "Crimsom UFO Invasion of Destruction"
Really really hard too. Until I used Marisa B to blast the hell out of all the red UFOs. Then it became really really easy. See the replay I attached for what happened. I haven't yet been able to find a way to capture it with a non-penetrating-type player yet since the UFOs spam bullets EVERYWHERE and it's hard to keep track of the trajectories.

Nue Sign "Mischievous Snake Festival"
Basically dodging bullets from all sides while eyeballing where the lasers are going. Not too bad, but that sort of thing happens to be one of my weak points in danmaku dodging. Strangely I managed to capture it once.

Unidentified "Cerulean UFO Invasion of Despair"
This is hard or easy depending on if the UFOs spawn in good or bad starting angles. If there's a UFO going straight at you and you don't destroy it on time, you're dead for sure. If you don't destroy at least one UFO quickly per spawn, you're also dead. Somewhat luck-based, but I can capture it more frequently than Heian Dark Sky.

Nue Sign "Ultimate Danmaku Chimera"
Fuck yes. Nothing wrong with this one.

Unidentified "Verdant UFO Invasion of Audacity"
Pretty fun until you get to the last 5 seconds. Then it becomes pretty much impossible. The new lasers cover up the old bullets, making it hard to see where the bullets are coming from. Have not captured this yet, but I may be able to with some luck.

Nue Sign "Undefinable"
Pretty easy. Probably her easiest attack actually. But it's still hard. :V

Unidentified "Spectrum UFO Invasion of Insanity"
Holy shit hard. I captured it once in Single while trying to find a good way to deal with the huge amount of yellow lines and found an interesting way. I messed up on it in the replay, but you'll notice that before I died in that spellcard, I was only moving left and right and virtually ignoring the yellow lines of bullets that go horizontally.

Nightmare Invasion "War of the Worlds"
This. Is. AWESOME! Like so many other people said already. The UFO spam at the end is impossible for me, but I'm sure it'd be possible for some of the better players. I don't think I have any complaints about this one.

Unknown Girl
Thick, random, and fast bullet spam. Really really REALLY hard. I'm not even going to try to capture it. I can't even beat it without bombing/dying like 8 times. The lines of bullets that aren't really lines cause the bullets move at slightly different angles plays tricks on my eyes and I just fail terribly.

Overall, this is script looks awesome, sounds awesome, and plays awesome. Lol grammar. I just wish I could 1cc this now. I'm SO CLOSE.  :'(

It's actually not that insane after I stopped going omgwthBULLETWALLSOMGBOMB when I saw it for the first time.

I've managed a 1 death 0 bomb clear of that card after some practise.

It's basically one of those cards where you have to look way past the hitbox of your player.

So I stare at the middle of the screen, looking for a gap to go through, then I venture through "walls" of bullets left to right, then right to left, and so on through those targeted gaps.

I die when that gap suddenly close because of slightly angled bullets.

It's a really really fun pure dodge no gimmick spell, like Nue's original last spell.
So really awesome job on this final spell. XD
