Title: Listen to the voice of the children of the stars: Eureka Seven AO thread
Post by: MatsuriSakuragi on April 13, 2012, 05:43:06 AM
Okay, so it's finally out and stuff, and I am intrigued, as I expected to be.

I'm still trying to decide if this is a sequel or a prequel to the original series, and I'm leaning toward the latter, and yet at the same time, it seems to be trying to lead the watcher into thinking it is a sequel by
implying that Eureka is Ao's mother
. I am certainly hoping to see more when the next episode is out and the action begins. :3

Anyway if you liked the first series then watch this and stuff have fun ^^;

This was designed to be a sequel when it was announced. You couldn't tell
with Eureka's "kids" there?

I didn't exactly love the original Eureka 7. It was just okay. Ao seems like a standard phoned-in sequel to me with the how the first episode is a facsimile of the original's pilot. Yawn. Bones hasn't made any good original series since... the first E7. The staff seems weaker too. Same director, but the writers are very different. No Dai Sato, who is probably the man that worked on much of what people liked about the original series.

I didn't expect much out of this, yet it's a shame because the production values are very high. It has possibly the best special effects animation I've seen in a year or more.

To be honest, I haven't read anything at all into this beyond 'oh, this is airing this season of course I'll check it out'.

I think it's a little too soon to call it bad already. Hell, it's only been one episode so far. The next episode preview seemed to be much more fascinating than the first episode, so I'll see what happens then. :s
