Touhou Project - Nue Houjuu's Theme - Heian Alien (Soundless Sonata Remix) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpeA9qrsDCE)
First try at mixing Dnb and Touhou together. Hopefully someone might like it. :)

I'm personally not familiar with DnB, but I think this arrange would benefit greatly from some changes to the structure. It kinda sounds a little too much like the ZUN original as it is.
-
Youtube's heavy compression, GAH. Soundcloud link worked better.
I'd like to hear much more synthesis and variation in the instruments...not expressive enough. And as Bigode suggested, more structure variation.
Also seems the beginning drums are a bit off-key, but that may just be me and my sense of absolute pitch kicking in.
Lastly, which DAW, hardware, software, etc. do you use?
-
I use ableton live 8.
-
Hm, I do have Live 8 M-Powered as well, but can't help as I am a Logic and Sonar user for that. More suggestions will come in as they arrive.

I forgot to mention Cubase. I don't think anybody here uses that.
I gonna try again but with a different track. Any rec's? :)

Bigode IIRC has Cubase, and I'm taking an interest into that DAW as well.

Some comments:
Breaks are good, but generally not a good idea to repeat the same break.
Maybe just my personal taste, but build ups make the it a lot better.
Try to make the instruments louder, or at least have a part of the song where the bass loop actually slows down a bit, since I assume you are making break beats.
And yeah, what EP and Bigode both said, variation (even though I know its quite hard to in DnB, trust me I know)

ehehe, another DnB x Touhou person!
Though it seems you put more detail on the DnB part D:
I can barely hear the melody most of the time, but when I can, something in me just keeps whining about how weird the instrument playing it sounds.
in the beginning it's mostly the attack that makes it sound weird. all wobbly. then... the high-frequency screeching gets on my nerves. D:
the beats are awesome though. you might want to tone them down. and, combine them with the melody.

I suck at remixing (http://soundcloud.com/soundless-sonata/alien-anarchy-1/s-X6L7r) :/
Ugh. Not happy with this one. :(
Touhou and my style of DnB don't mix well i guess. :/
-
Beginning is a bit unclear - too much release, I think, or too many notes in succession.
Not a bad mix, but it is still a bit too similar to the original, I think. Also I think the melody can be better adjusted to the current rhythm pattern, and that the other instruments, particularly the saw lead, can use a bit more variety, once again.
-
the intro also sounds a bit too soft, i think. at least too low of volume to be heard easily.
-
Tried to do something different while i was offline, couldn't think of something cooler. :p
