Title: Fall 2011 Anime Preview
Post by: Tengukami on August 31, 2011, 03:43:17 AM
Starting to look a lot like summer (http://chartfag.wordpress.com/2011/08/13/fall-or-autumn-if-you-will-2011-preview-charts/): a mixed bag of mostly average stuff, with a couple exceptions.

Best news: Season 2 of Ika Musume.

Also happy but cautious to see another season of Bakuman and, a great hangover anime, Working!!.

Apart from that, UN-GO looks very promising. There's a lot of action and sci-fi this season (Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, Phi Brain), some slice of life (Kimi to Boku, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai) and some bizarre show about bento box wars.

Last fall was great for anime, personally. There were five series I was following and enjoying. No matter what happens, another season of Ika Musume will make up for an end to Nichijou.

P4A's on my must-watch list, and the new Lupin III series looks worth checking out.

I put on my tentacle hair and squid hat.

I cast Lv 3 Gesoism. You turn into an invader of the sea.

Fate/Zero by ufotable, the return of the squid and Shana III, I've had my eye on you...

I still need to watch the first series of Ika Musume;;; guess now I have extra incentive to get it done asap. UN-GO does look decent but nothing else really jumps out at me at the moment.

I thought Summer 2011 was a very blah season, nothing that piqued my interest. However, Fall 2011 looks like a lot of series that I'll want to watch:
Fate/zero
P4A
obligatory sequel series like Last Exile 2, Shana 3, Ika Musume 2.
and the continuing OVAs of Carnival Phantasm which I've found very entertaining so far.

Fate/Zero is the one I'm definitely watching. Persona 4 is gonna be watched once I finish the game at some point.

Even if I didn't watch Fate/Zero from the start, I would get linked to all the delicious Kajiura music and end up watching it anyway.

YES YES YES, Fall is always my favorite season for anime.
WORKING S2
FATE/ZERO
GUILTY CROWN
IKA MUSUME S2
Right off the bat, I don't even need to think twice about any of the above.

Most likely also going to watch:
Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon
Mirai Nikki
UN-GO
Tamayura

For everything else, I'll give them the 3-episode treatment, as usual.

As usual, I fuckin' love Fall.

Mmmm... I tend not to watch anime as it's being broadcast, but I think I'll be making one of my rare exceptions this season.  Fate/Zero is just too big a draw for me to pass up, ahah~

Think what you want, the Summer season was the best darn season since 2006. Or 2008? Never watched this many series in a season since I was 16-17.

As for this season. Ehhh, nothing much really. I'll watch Shana 3 for old-times' sake, but I can't see anything good for now.

Well I won't deny there was a bit of that in the manga, but it's not Yume Nikki level. :3

ANYWAY, I'll most likely be watching:

Busou Shinki
Persona 4
Season 2 of Ika
Boku wa Tomodachi
Mirai Nikki
Season 3 of Shana

Seems like it'll be another busy season for me.

Will watch the hell out of:

Persona 4
Mirai Nikki
Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

Mildly curious:

Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon
UN-GO
Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam (need to actually watch Last Exile)
Ika season 2 (need to watch the first one)
Working 2 (ditto)
Tamayura ~hitotose~
Mouretsu Pirates (only one of those images has it but I'm assuming it's not an error)

Didn't enjoy the F/SN anime so will likely give Zero a miss. Similar story for Shana 3.

As usual, anything on noitaminA is generally worth a look, but my eyes are mostly on Persona 4 and maybe Mirai Nikki, just because I've heard interesting things about it. Fate/Zero and Shana III might be enough of a reason to get into both respective series, too. Hmm.

Hear hear!

I don't know if I'm going to watch anything other than Ika 2: Return of De Geso and Fate/Zero though. 2 anime series per season is okay.

What F/SN anime? Anyways, that was DEEN, this is UFOTable. And Fate/Zero is very different from F/SN.

F/SN anime wasn't terrible  ???

I am intrigued by the Future Diary anime.  Since the manga's long done at least they aren't going to have to veer into crazytown to make up an ending
the manga already did it for them!
and I hope it keeps the same level of Yuno is, well Yuno without going into anime fanwank-bait territory.

Way to confuse F/SN with Tsukihime.  I hope Arcueid drains your blood tonight in revenge.

As usual, going to skip all the derivative "sci-fi" shows that are a dime a dozen in anime now.
The most important thing is Carnival Phantasm 2 in October, I hope it has another sweet artbook!

I'm not really impressed with the line-up. I guess I'll check out some titles from their description.
Other then that, the only thing I'm interested in is Ika musme (And Fate stay zero, but I didn't like FSN)

Chihayafuru sounds like it might be good. Otherwise looks like a catch-up season for me.

Very interested in Persona 4 and Lupin III.  And Fate/Zero, just for Rider.  Fate/Zero's Rider is pure awesome.

Stuff to keep on tabs:

Busou Shinki - Infinite Stratos x Strike Witches
Kyoukai Senjou Horizon - It is a story born from what is better known as a set of toys...
Guilty Crown- MOTHERFUCKING REDJUICE HELMS THE DESIGN TEAM AND ART AND ANIMATION, FUCK STORY, WATCH THIS BECAUSE REDJUICE
Fate Zero - just what is necessary said is already said before.
Maken Ki - TITS MAGIC
Boku wa Tomodachi - everything about this manga has been awesome, and I am sure the anime is no less awesome because if you want to make friends surely this is the only way.

Is that a third season Shana I see?
What, seriously, was I the only one to like this a lot?

Also Fate/Zero. If it really has Kajiura Yuki music then it will be godlike

And uh, some stuffman Companion Cube anime deal ???

a great hangover anime, Working!!

qft

I'm also probably gonna check out Fate/Zero, Ika 2, and P4 (though it'll most likely be terrible).

Might give Maken-ki a look, though the trailer looks pretty lame. The manga's been a guilty pleasure of mine for... shit, like 2 years now? It's a pile of ass by any meaningful standard, but the art is nice (o bby (http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/7135/aki1h.jpg)), so every now and again I'll download a chapter or two and just casually flip through it to look at the pretty ladies.

Edit: More on that: I mostly just like Aki, the school nurse/christmas cake/requisite tittymonster. I kind of wish Takeda would just be like "fuck this gay plot" and draw a million pictures of her gently caressing herself instead of the actual manga. Super huge tits generally aren't my cup of tea, but this is different for some reason. Like, I just want to bury my face in her rack and stay there until I suffocate like a turkey in the rain. Wow, that was really romantic. I should write that down.

that sounds like a lot of fun actually minus the suffocating part.
