Title: TPW EVO English Patch released!
Post by: Ghaleon on June 01, 2010, 09:35:05 PM
A buncha text used to be here.. It got Buh-leted. English patch is currently "done" with the current build (1.07). I will proceed to fix any future bugs or typos I find, and have every intention to update it for new versions of TPWEVO and expansions, but until that happens, here is the final release.

Updated June 28th:
http://www.mediafire.com/?mhvg1yrmtzn
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=R02IS0RL

It NEEDS patch 1.07 to work properly. If you have 1.02 or whatever, and apply the xp3 file, your game will say 1.07E, but it is STILL 1.02 as a base, so it will act all screwy and WILL crash.

I think this would be better in Touhou Projects (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?board=5.0) than Rika's Garage

I thought this was kinda for stuff in progress or Danfumaku specificlly, and Touhou projects is more of a finished product type deal.

Edit: Scrap the first download, get the new one, it's only a few hours newer but the last version had a really bad text overlap issue in the combat screen that I fixed.

If the project is a product of your own, i.e.: your or your team's creation, then it can stay here. Note that modifying or extending other author's game/project (such as patches, updates, continuation or translation) does not fall under the category of: "self made". So can you tell us specific if this is a totally self created game or not.

I certainly didn't make the game, I'm just making the translation patch.

Do you guys plan on keeping up with the updates released for this game? The circle that made this game just made a poll on which character to release next--It doesn't look like they're going to stop releasing updates for this game anytime soon.

Patch updated, get the new one at:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9O88TY3K
http://www.mediafire.com/?jjzwdownzkj

Fixes a pretty major bug with gensokyo rivals recovering favor upon a savegame load. Translates every spellcard in the game minus Reisen's and Suika's as well. Items, env spheres, avatars, and team names are translated as well (if they weren't already, I forget).

Just tested your patch... somehow I am still getting japanese Spellcard names shown sometimes... I was fighting Utsuho and Orin. Can you check if you translated all thier Spells?

Just went to the shop to get some cards but appearently going to the second "page" (Tenshi, Komachi, ...) gives me an error and only shows Tenshi, Komachi and Zako. I can return and go to the other "pages" but I still don?t know why I got an error there.

Edit: Also happens on the 5th "page" (Mokou, Eirin, Kaguya).

That's odd, I get everyone showing up for my spellcard window thingie. Could you please upload your save files?

There is some text going on too long thing going on for the combat screen too, I already fixed that..haven't uploaded it yet though.

Might as well post this as new post, seeing how you already answered the other stuff

Game locks up when opponent has Suika as assistant. I think the things that, Suika has no translation for her stuff (including assist info, I think the program was looking for that and just broke) makes this game unplayable with patch, seeing how nearly every opponent could have a Suika in his/her team. This is what I ended up with after I closed the error window. (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/2733/lockup.png) Surprisingly the music is still running and I can still close the program via System->End Game or the X on the window.

Ouch, effing crash bugs are not cool.
Not translating Suika's stuff shouldn't break it, but it might be the case in this situation. If the assist info isn't translated, it's still in the files, I doubt I accidently deleted it (I've never done that yet)..

Honestly I have a bad feeling that that one will take awhile to figure out.

Next time you get an error window, screenshot that please. It has a buncha junk that doesn't help at all but it generally DOES tell you which file was accessed before it 'sploded. It gives a line number too but that's always total bull.

I haven't encountered the Suika-bug myself and I am using the latest patch you provided. Here is a picture of rival battle taken few minutes ago. (http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/9849/sende.png) I am not sure should this affect the situation at all - but I am using XP.

well yeah... This time it seems that suika was the second character to be loaded instead of being the "Back-up".

but I am using XP.

Same here.

EDIT: Erm nevermind... seems like I forgot to patch the version... I throught I already had the latest version...

The latest english patch somehow removes the restrictions for the different kind of clothes the characters can have (e.g Reimu and Sanae can equip each others clothes right after you bought them) and the "glitch-thingy" disappears when the patch is removed. I dont know if it's only me, but that's what happens.

Does the second patch include the stuff from the first? Just makin sure since the first links don't work anymore.

Every new patch has everything the last patch has and more (including some new bugs sometimes hehe...Though I guess they don't include some old ones too, I generally only update if I fix a big bug really).

I delete them on purpose since I want to try and avoid people accidentally dling old patches and reporting old bugs to me.
Costume glitch is known to me atm. But thanks for the info anyway. Not sure why it's doing that though.

Basically you can wear costumes despite not having their required favor cost right? Is there any other requirement that is being bypassed for you?

The votes for "The Character that should be included in Touhou Pocket Wars EVO" endet (or something along those lines).

GAH, thanks, that one will be hard for me to fix since I'm not that far in the game yet (have no gifts), but noted.

Anyway new patch out.
Old ones deleted.

Makes combat much nicer, fixes text overlap issues, and translates a buncha stuff in the combat screen. There's more but that's the big feature.

This is great work dood. Deranged and you did a great job translating stuff. I feel kinda sad though, since hardly anyone talks about TPW and I helped finish off its english patch with Deranged and the guidance of a nameless fairy :< .....Ah well...seeing it complete makes me happy still. Especially seeing Remilia's face when she greets me when i visit ;~;

Well there are a few minor things i think ya should know about for the patch....
In the Character Set screen the stats and words need a little spacing. Its a little hard to see and the font is smaller and all.

In a battle screen there should be a little spacing as well
ATK48ACC56Eva67
is how it looks like.
think you could space it to look like ATK48 HIT56 DOD67? why is it acc and Eva anyway? shouldn't it be HIT and DOD for consistency?  ::) I mean it was like that in the first game.

Oh in the Game Center Screen. the cost to enter a B-Rank game is off-center.

I know it may sound a little nitpicky but i said they were minor things. If ya can give these a little tune up that'll be great I mean its just spacing issues right?  :D

Anyway man great work. It took a while but we managed to nearly complete both games! We are awesomes.

I only wonder what will happen with the new Append Disc with the 10+ characters when it come out ._.;;

Hah, yeah I know I feel somewhat guilty about that myself, especially since if you didn't do that update I probably wouldn't have gotten involved with this. So I like to think like we both are pretty responsible for both, along with deranged and nameless fairy of course. But besides, I'm sure there's a cozy feeling that TPW is completely done 100%. I know people keep asking me what's going to happen with the next patch, and the next, and this expansion, etc. But in TPW's case...

Quote

I never noticed, you playing in windowed mode? I shrunk it on purpose so it could fit, but I play fullscreen so maybe that's why I like it that way.

Quote

Yeah that's already fixed in the current unreleased build >=)

Quote

Well now it's A48 H56 D67. Unfortunately simply adding a space wasn't really working for some reason. I intentionally changed Dod to eva, for consistency ironically, consistent with every other RPG/adventure/whatever game with an evasion stat, I've never ever seen it referred to as "dod" in a game ever, and I remember when I first played TPW I was wondering WTF this DoD animal was >=P. Deranged just changed it back to Dod himself in the current build though because he felt that it was most important to match the BMP button file thingies, I guess he's right in that regard...I just hate the term 'Dod' lol.

Quote
Oh in the Game Center Screen. the cost to enter a B-Rank game is off-center.
That may have been fixed too, Deranged said he fixed a bunch of spacing inconsistencies, Capitalization inconsistencies, etc, little nitpicky stuff in the current (still not ready) build. I was aware of them (some of them) and was planning to fix them in time, but I was more concerned with the functional stuff first. I think my semi-sloppy methods are irking him though so he couldn't help himself lol.

Quote
I only wonder what will happen with the new Append Disc with the 10+ characters when it come out ._.;;
I have no intention of quitting after a certain patch or expansion when so much is already done. I can't speak for deranged but I'm pretty sure updates of that nature will be pretty trivial for him after doing the whole gensokyo story bit (it'll be ready by the next release). Updating these patches is actually a lot less work than it was for TPW because I'm much more familiar with everything in this one than I was with TPW, so the amount of work involved is really not all that bad. Deranged has to do more with them, but even then like 1-3 dream events and 6 spellcards to translate per new character doesn't really seem all that bad either, in comparison to everything else I mean.
Title: Re: TPW Evo Translation
Post by: Kojiremi on June 17, 2010, 09:38:03 PM
ahahh XD you didn't like the word Dodge? lol. well i know a lot of games use different terminology for similar aspects. HP, Vitality, Life Points. ....SP, special points, yadda yadda. well I was saying consistent for the game's terms. since it used and said Dodge/DOD in the first game, the 2nd should use the same terms as well for consistency in that regard haha.

Sorry I was talking about the character names and their levels when i spoke of the font. sometime i do play in window mode when i'm talkin to some folks online or whatever. so yeah it is pretty small in that case.

This is what i was talking about when i was in the character set screen. this is how it looks in TPW.
(http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa11/kojiros/TPWlook.jpg)
Nicely spaced out and easy to see and read ^_^ see even says DOD all in nice caps for all the stats ::)

This is how it looks for EVO. There is no spacing and its slightly not as easily readable as it used to be. I was wondering if ya could give that a little tune-up as well?
(http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa11/kojiros/TPWEVOlook.jpg)

Like i said i'm not trying to be nitpicky but i think changing those will be good nonetheless. The small things in life brings small happiness or somethin like that haha. But it seems like you and Deranged already knew about the little nitpicky things. tbh i'm glad ya'll are gonna fix em casue a lot of small things are annoying as hell nonetheless. There was some things in the first game i was gonna leave alone cause it was such a "minor detail" but i changed/fixed em anyway. Can't be lazy with even the minor stuff ya know? hahah.

Its great that the other small thins i brought up earlier are taken care of ^_^ that's pretty cool then.

Well i can't wait for it all. I'm gonna start a new game once its out. fresh game from scratch and with the power of both my illustration guides the game will be my cloyster!

Yeah I have every intention of getting all the small things fixed, I just prioritize them below the stuff that actually is needed to be done in order to let people who can't read Japanese know wtf is going on, which is in turn even below fixing any crashbug screwups I cause during my attempt at progress >=)

You don?t have the latest patch  (http://sadinfish.myweb.hinet.net/game/game07_download_jp.html)(1.07) it seems. And thus you can?t meet Reisen as she isn?t in game at that point (1.02).

Edit: Appearently there is a glitch with Danmaku Type 1-6.
Somehow they are not compatible with themselves and exists twice (as Danmaku Type 1,2,3,4,5,6 and same in japanese). Was it a glitch due to patching it to 1.07 but not restarting the game or your English Patch?

That was my guess only I don't know how you can tell the version is 1.02, I just figured they didn't apply the latest Japanese patch.

I'm starting to think I shouldn't replace t he patch # thing in the menu bar just so we can see if people patched their game before getting the latest English patch easier. Seems like it happens fairly often.

Hey, the circle that made the TPW series has announced that they're creating an expansion pack called "Touhou Pocket War EVO Plus". It's going to introduce the UFO characters with some others, all the characters that have been added from previous update patches are now going to be integrated into the main story, and there are going to be a couple of other gameplay changes. They say it's going to come out in August 2010:

http://sadinfish.myweb.hinet.net/game/index2_jp.html

Just a heads-up. If you plan on keeping your English patch as current as possible, you might want to look out for this one.

There's another thread for the gameplay discussion whereas this thread is for translation reporting and the like. Thanks anyway though ^_^
As a follow up, I seriously can't wait for it. It seems like the extra disc content happens after the main story, thus the plus disc material. and we get the ENTIRE UFO cast. First game in which we get everyone in a single touhou game too.

It's just an expansion pack that adds onto the original game. There shouldn't be any changes to the engine or anything huge like that.

It's done! Or at least it's considered Released, and no longer "beta test" or whatever. There may be a bug or typo here or there, but I'm confident that they are few and far between (or maybe non existent? *crosses fingers*).

Anyway I'm pretty proud that I did it. I mean I could not have done it without Deranged actually translating, and Bane also made some suggestions early on that most likely saved me months of time of learning. But overall, I feel pretty proud with what I accomplished. My first big contribution to the Touhou Community (and MoTK) *beams*. Even if only 1 or 2 people will enjoy this here, I still feel great. I hope I can do more projects like this in the future.

Anyway, please bear in mind that I've never done anything like this before, so while I might not have been as fast as the crew that translates other Touhou games, I did it eventually. I also wasn't exactly loaded with free time either >=P.

I'm going to copy/paste the readme now.

Touhou Pocket War Evolution patch 1.07

Instructions:
1: You MUST update your game to the latest version before applying the English patch. Get all updates at:
http://sadinfish.myweb.hinet.net/
2: Once your game is updated, simply copy patch2.xp3 into your TPWEvo Directory (the one with the Exe)
3: Launch the game as usual (Japanese Applocale highly recommended) and enjoy!

Credits:
Zun: For making Touhou, duh.
未完童話: For making Touhou Pocket Wars Evolution.

Deranged: For Translating numerous excellent Touhou fan games, also for translating just about everything in this one
Bane,qazmlpok, AKA nameless fairy on Poosh: For working with Deranged as the patcher/scripter/toolmaker for many Touhou fangames, TPW included, also for giving me advice on this one.
Kojiremi: for updating the original TPW patch to 1.07, helping me with some odd touches, and more importantly, inspiring me to try and make my own translation patch for once.
Nobu/Vita: For (patiently) offering to help with some translations that failed miserably due to me failing at IRC.
Everyone (Lolisauce and BGF on DS forums are the only ones I know by name)  who worked on their own TPW EVO translation, this one seems to be the only released one but your efforts are noble!
Anybody else I forget, I think I got em all.

Known Issues:
When Suika or Reisen (and probably any other new character added in future patches) cast a spell as a CPU, the spellcard info is not translated.
I think I know how to fix it, but I don't know if it's a good idea since it involves initializing their info in a file other than what they originally were initialized in.

Feel free to tell me of any additional issues you discover by posting about it on the TPWEvo poosh thread, MoTK's TPWEvo thread (under Touhou Projects), or (preferably not)
the TPWEvo thread in DS forums.

I hope I can do more projects like this in the future.

Anyway, please bear in mind that I've never done anything like this before, so while I might not have been as fast as the crew that translates other Touhou games, I did it eventually. I also wasn't exactly loaded with free time either >=P.

OMG YES FINALLY.
(excuse me, i need to repeat the game because i didn't understand anything from my first playthrough.)

New update, fixes a bug where you cannot level up mook spellcards or passive bonus (well you can but loading the game resets them back to 1)

Aww geez, why didn't I notice this release earlier? Awesome work. I can finally get to go through the story now.

I noticed a few issues with untranslated lines that weren't covered in your post:

If you go to the  "set characters" menu, select a youkai character (ex: monster flower), and press the "custom" button, it says "デフォルト" where it's supposed to say "default" in the avatar list.

I've noticed instances where the opponent characters' spellcard attacks are occassionally displayed untranslated in the middle of the screen. It's the same issue with Suika and Reisen, except it can happen with other non-patch characters as well. Some of these characters include Marisa and Kaguya

If you run out of uses for your ENV spheres, the message in the middle of the screen telling you that you've run out of uses is in Japanese.

Other than the Suika/Reisen thing, that's all the bugs I could find.

hehe. you didn't know about this till now? We posted it at Doujinstyle as well haha. Well enjoy dood.
I knew about the ENV sphere text when you can't use one...but the other stuff you mentioned i never heard of...
There's some bugs/error reports at poosh too. we'll eventually get back to working on them as well.
I'm curious about Youmu/Keine's assist abilities since they are said to not work...though I can't confirm it myself since I don't have youmu/keine yet saidly
There is a very few typos in the story as well that i'ma try correcting as well but other than these said things That's bout all i know in terms of things needing correcting.
thanks anyway hehe

Thanks for the avatar tip, I'll fix it (and that comma typo now that I got moar broken stuff) next time I got free time on my CPU (prob in 24 hours BUT sun/mon are busy days for me so it might be as late as Tuesday).

Untranslated spellcard when the CPU uses them... If it affects everyone, I have one past theory. I'm not sure I can fix it. Basically I think I have to re-do all that crap that makes saved games created before the translation patch have translated spellcard. Only for the CPU as well. I honestly have no clue if the cpu's spellcard menu is visible, assignable or accessable in the scripts though. It probably is but it'll be a bish to find.

Even if I do find it that's like 700 lines I have to retype =(.
can anybody read those anyway? I'm a pretty fast reader but no way I can read CPU spellcard stuff fast enough, I just know what they cast and that's it. Bear in mind I don't even know if this is the actual solution.

Thanks for the env sphere bug too.

Have to double post, on phone.
Youmu/keine's passive don't work in English OR Japanese for me. My theory is that it simply doesn't stack with the 25% exp bonus you vet for finishing the story. I haven't tested it without that bonus yet.

edit: Just tested it again, it's bork. word.

I'm pretty sure I fixed it though. working on the other stuff mentioned now.

KK found the envsphere line, waiting on a translation, will fix it, then will update when I get it.

New update: Pretty minor, just fixes 1 Jap-Eng line, (when you try to use an env sphere you run out of), as well as some typos.

Ghale i know you said you are still gonna work on EVO I'll help out as usual if you need it but ah.....how we gonna do this? The english patch for EVO is semi-compatible as is haha. the Title is different but no characters for EVO+ show up (go figure)

It's pretty hot for me right now (weather wise). I have health issues which do not mix well with heat, so I don't really have the motivation to do squat atm.

I'll make the patch 100% compatible (or try to, I'm confident I can do it though) once the weather is better and I have the energy to do it.
I don't think I'll need any play testing help for awhile. I'm not going to bother deranged about translating the new stuff until after I make what's existing 100% compatible.

Double-post fun!...It deserves a bump.

I've just solved the crashbug that stopped my translation progress dead in its tracks for the last couple weeks. I now have tpw_init (by far the worst file for +disk) working fine.

Translation progress should go smooth again. Even if I come across any more crashbugs, they should be easy to solve in comparison since they will not be buried under the file with over 10k solid  lines of flagged Windiff code. The rest of the files generally have MAYBE 100 changed lines, and they are spaced apart so you can really pick em apart and notice any errors.. so yay.
At this point the expansion should be little more difficult ot translate than the Reisen patch hopefully.

YAY, finally did the bulk of the work. I think everything is working fine now, All new spellcards and characters have been translated as well, dream events, gensokyo story events are still in progress. I'm releasing this now though despite its incomplete state so that people can finally play the game in English once again without fearing that whole business about Japanese spellcards not being able to merge with English ones and all that nonsense. It'll be nice if people can report bugs too while I finish it up.

The only bug I've been able to find (with my VERY limited playtime) so far is the synthesis menu's text for red blue and green is kinda odd looking as though there is overlapping text.

Anyway, get the first 2.0 release translation patch here:

o_o dam. didn't need my help at all huh? Did Deranged translate stuff or you did it yourself? Well either way good job man.

There isn't much translated that wasn't done already before, just the new spellcards and..maybe a few words here and there. But Deranged did those.

Help is nice, but I really try not to use it short of testing if needed because many of the issues caused during ordinary TPW's patch from 1.04-1.07 were caused by multiple people working on the same files undoing each otherrs work, making changes others didn't know about, giving advice based on said changes that they ahve not yet shared and hence don't work for others, etc. It's awful. I just know that's what caused that alice +hit buff bug. somehow a chinese version of her spell got copied/pasted into one of the files, and the data was saying "+hit effect" in Chinese instead of Japanese, which wasn't recognized by the Japanese Initialization code, and hence did nothing. It's nobody's fault, happens in commercial games too. Which is why they need team "leads" for their deveopment divisions, so that people make sure that sorta stuff doesn't happen >=)

Anyway it's still not done, but it's over 90% done for sure. This is just what's needed to make people able to "safely" play with the new +disk with stuff translated. While you COULD use 1.07's translation patch for 2.0, it wasn't really safe, and if you chose NOT to use it, you couldn't level up your Japanese cards using english cards, or vice-versa, it sucked. This just solves all those issues.

I'd still appreciate any input on bugs or whatever.

Okay, one thing I noticed.
I have raised Hinas affection to 500, but every day  I return to the gap -
the affection of the rival seems to jump back to 450. Eventhough I have
managed to drop the rivals affection to 0, this still keeps happening.
I still have to test this with Meiling though.

Could this happen because I am using my old EVO save where I only
need to beat Mima?

Sorry for the super big delay in updates. I've had a really rough month and getting anything productive done was hard after each day was done.

TPWEVO+'s translation is still being patched. Deranged did everything he can weeks ago, it's just me slowing things done. Anyway I've current patched in everything except the main storyline for +disk. I'll work on that next. This update features dream events.

Same happens with rival names when contacting Hina and Meiling or in their dream missions (in latest

This is the first "complete" version of the plus disk's translation. It is probably full of typos still, but I think i found all the crashbugs.
I'll try to get around to fixing all the typos and bugs as they are found, but I'll be slow from this point on because I've been really busy lately, and to be frank, I would much rather play the new comiket games I haven't even touched yet since comiket than bugfix now that I've finally got a reasonably stable version. Of course crashbugs will get a high priority >=).

Once again, thanks to Deranged for actually translating the Japanese stuff.

Works fine with me.
First did you get the japanese 2.02 patch? naturally it won't work if you didn't.
Your supposed to have 4 patchs in the game
patch1 = EVO
patch2 = EVO+
patch3 = 2.02
patch4 = English

Ahn! Yes, yes, I certainly did! I bet it's just my meanie computer being mean though :< I do have them all, I think~! See, see~! I have patch, patch2, patch3, and patch4~! +.xp3 or whatever at the end of those <3

Unless patch doesn't mean patch1, otherwise, I could always try Mister applocale and stuff.

Um um, could it be that I downloaded and put in Ghaleon's translation thingie first before the thing he posted right after for 2.2~?
Title: Re: TPW EVO English Patch released!
Post by: Kojiremi on October 04, 2010, 10:51:09 PM
right. patch.xp3 is patch1 that i called it. forgot that it didn't have a number.

It shouldn't have mattered. I had all 4 patches in and i knew it didn't work.
If you used the japanese 2.02 patch with the first english patch that ghale made then the 2.02 was ignored since the english patch didn't have the music. Worked fine for me then. Works fine for me now...i dunno what could be up if you have all 4 and their music won't work.
Title: Re: TPW EVO English Patch released!

your patch3.xp3 is probably my older translation patch and NOT the japanese 2.02 patch. get the Japanese 2.02 patch, and replace your patch3.xp3 with it, keep patch4.xp3. that is most likely the problem.

Hey Ghale. I'm enjoying the game pretty well ^_^ no crashbugs as you mentioned so far just some typos and things to clean up.

Here's a list of things I found that need a little tweaking dood.

```````````````````````````
The Shop is untranslated (text at top and the day/time thing at top right)
When using "Set Characters" the names are shifted to the left of the name boxes. (Though they are perfectly aligned at the Battle Preparation screen)
Hints are untranslated
Meiling dream 1 "I have a name you know!" the text for the assist poins you gain is untranslated.
Hina's dream 1 "Curse Goddess" typo on kogasa's line " bullied bu humans again!" should be "by" lol. and text for assist points you gain is untranslated.
When at the Set Character menu and pressin "Custom" the stats at the middle are untranslated.
Untranslated line after the Sanae or Ichirin fight.
After Sanae or Ichirin fight, there is a "wrap text= "Reimu"]Reimu" line where its supposed to display that Reimu is speaking.
In the Passage to Makai maze, the "Encounter!" text when a random battle is about to start is untranslated.
When starting the cutscene at the Passage to Makai's, the text is untranslated (1 line) (after "The Passage to Makai has be crossed!")
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That's all so far. mostly minor small stuff dood.

I haven't unlocked EX rank yet. i know how to thought never got around to it. I'm just now fighting EX rank story enemies.
I lol'd at seeing something like 389.2 ATK and 540.8 HIT. using the decimal system now? by the gods we're screwed. haha.

Er. When I applied the latest patch, and tried to close the game out, the "really quit?" window closed itself immediately. The only way I could kill the game was manually going into Task Manager and ending the process.

edit: Wait, it's worse than that. Now the Load Game option cancels itself immediately, and I tried removing the English patch and it's STILL doing it. What do I do D:

edit2: ... It seems this problem remains present even if I remove the 2.02 patch. It worked fine before. Um...

Thanks for  the translation patches.
I've been playing TPW Evo+ for a bit over a week and haven't seen any bigger problems with the patch but the misplaced names in unit setting screen and untranslated stats in customize window caught my eye.
I was messing with the files today and edited the unit setting screen (http://i55.tinypic.com/2ked69.jpg) a bit.
Would you have any use for those edits in your patches?

After quickly checking that file it looks like there are either misplaced quotation marks in lines 4643, 4644 and 4645 in event_mainplus.ks or those lines are missing something.

The error messages are useless. sometimes they don't even get the right file right, and I've never seen them get the correct line number. Normally it's WAYYY off like it'll say 443, and it'll be 7080 or something, but thanks.

Could you please upload me a savefile just before you complete the game? This way I can test it out every time I think I fix it >=p

I'm a bit nervous accepting any help at all in this manner. If you want to update the game, I think the best way to do it is to just do it without really teaming up with me at this point. Just make sure you actually fix all known crashbugs when you do it... I'll get on it though. I haven't even TRIED fixing the unit set screen yet, crashbugs are a priority with me, so yeah. It'll get done eventually on my end.

Quote

I'm certain that's not it. First off looking at the line number from the error message is only leads to frusteration >=P. It is odd though that the untranslated lines are placed after the translated ones. I don't think they are causing the crash but I deleted them regardless because assuming they work properly they'll just re-translat what is translated back to Japanese, derp.

I am pretty sure I had this exact same issue back in TPWEVO, don't remember what it was though. Something to do with a music track or fadeout or something I think.. I really don't remember.

Anyway, I need a save file to test it, I haven't even started playing the game in earnest yet.

I won't be updating anything else. That screen just happened to catch my eye everytime I saw them so I though I could do something about it. I'll just keep that edited file in my patch4.xp3 until you release the edited version.

When I run it using Microsoft Applocale, this error appears.

Error.
File : first.ks Column : 3
tag : loadplugin(some long sentence)
plug?? wuvorbis.dll *some words about reading and stuff*

When I just run it, I can see the title page, but when I press New Game, a error appears talking about Unicode char strings and ANSI char strings.

It is not because of the patch, but I can't find any better places to ask this question.

Oh dear, how'd ya do that? I've been looking around the textfiles and can't figure it out, putting shame to my title of Information System major. True, it's a minor deal, but I get bugged each time I see the off-centre names and stats. Would like to remedy this thing for now while we wait for Ghaleon's fix on the bigger issues.

I'm guessing you mean the .ks files by textfiles. Everything related to unit setting screen is found in unit_set.ks file and I guess the best way to find the parts you want to edit is to look for text strings like ATK or SPD depending on what you want to edit.

Here (http://www.mediafire.com/?4x1n20me083fz1n) is a quick fix for the unit setting screen if you don't want to mess with the code. I haven't touched anything else than the unit_set.ks file and I've added one tab in the beginning of every line I've changed to make it easier to find those lines for possible editing.

Edit: Uploaded new version that has some sort of translation for the affection requirement for avatars.

Hello and thanks for all the hard work on the patch :3

Just wanted to note that the error message at the shrine event is correct. Just move the "] so it becomes like this [emb exp="f.avatar[1][7][1]"][wrap text="-]-"]" in line 4643, 4644 and 4645. And add a "] in the same lines at [emb exp="f.chara[1][30]"] in all three lines and it works nicely :D Just some untranslated stuff that I can't do anything with :P

Thanks again for the rest of the patch and have fun playing :3

Hey folks! Its been a long while eh?
Well I've got good news now.
EVO+ ENGLISH PATCH IS FINALLY FULLY COMPLETE!

*copy paste from pooshlmer and Google sorta*

At long last we can have closure on EVO+'s english patch folks \o/ Everything is translated and corrected.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EAYJFACY
http://www.mediafire.com/?mi434a7n0273k5k

In case MU is being a little bitch I uploaded it there and Mediafire.
These two are the originally planned games. (Meaning you get the UFO girls at the end of EVO+ as originally intended)

I also have a patch (see attachment at http://www.pooshlmer.com/wakaba/res/484816.html#489489 download it and remove the ".unkown" part and extract it is all.) that gives you the UFO girls AT THE START of EVO+ That's the only difference between the 2. The ones i'm hosting at MU and mediafire are the legit games where you get the UFO girls after beating the EVO+ story. After playing through it I realized that EVO+ story is pretty short. but UNGODLY FUCKING HARD T~T.... and like i said up above its a really stupid requirement to get their gachas after beating the game. But ya'll have 2 options then.

So pick your choice and gave fun.

Remember Remember Remember! make GOT dam sure you have 4 patches in your game folder
patch = EVO data
patch2 = EVO+ data
patch3 = EVO+ 2.02 data (adds the new music for 3 chars)
patch4= EVO+ english patch

With that we can have ultimate closure on the game and enjoy it in its fullest ^_^ There is some other talk at pooshlmer as well so check there for any other juice info
http://www.pooshlmer.com/wakaba/res/484816.html

Credits for this thing's complete go out to Deranged of course for the actual translation! Fucking Kudos to you dood. You are awesome.

Ghaleon and any of his contacts who he may have worked with that I don't know about at all. He wouldn't have started this if I didn't finish the first Touhou Pocket War. Which no one hardly plays anymore i bet T~T...hahah well it served its purpose as the catalyst for this game's completion I suppose.

The Nameless Fairy who did some of the things before I picked it back up. Like centering names, fixing suika's dream and EVO+ ending etc. Thanks a bloody lot dood ^_^

And lastly yours truly. Its been great (overall) working on TPW, EVO and EVO+, I think its a great game. Fan-TAS-tic art by riv. @_@ so dam beautiful. And awesome story as well. Where you're actually transported to Gensokyo and do incidents and stuff.

This game is like Touhoumon only the real girls exist as well as your pocket fighter versions hehe.

I have just 1 gripe actually....
Fucking Green UFOs....that is all.

Well to those who celebrate it, Happy Thanksgiving and have a good day as well ^_^

Yay thanks to you and hacker fairy for finishing it up. I'm really sorry once again for just taking a perma break with no warning. I just had a really bad few months, and couldn't stomach doing anything remotely unfun during my free time. I thought it would get better but it really didn't until fairly recently, and even then I'm still a bit nervous things will take a turn for the worse as soon as I get comfortable again >=P.

Anyway I'm really happy that you guys finished it, and I hope you, or anybody else wont hold it against me...Kinda scared of hacker fairy though, *looks behind back*.
Speaking of which, did he bitch about how I did the scripting in Evo+? I'm curious.

As for the fairy I didn't hear anything said from them....Some random fairy helped but I dunno if it was the same guy or not.
I'm playing it now. finally. Raising my girls to help Alice out in EVO+ story line. EVO+ sections are hard as bricks man = =

Is there another link to the early UFO character patch? Because the link is dead

Also will I have to start a new game for the patch to work?

I went to the official site to get the patches, and chrome gave me this message;
http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http%3A%2F%2Fsadinfish.myweb.hinet.net%2F&client=googlechrome&hl=en-US

Is it really safe to go on? :C

If your computer has a strong Anti-Virus system, then yes. And, if you computer has no protection at ALL, then I would recommend to stay at the safe side.

I guess AVG is more at the useless memory hog side than the strong anti-virus side, right?

Damn you, family that doesn't let me choose the software I'm gonna use.

AVG 2012? I've gotten that out of nowhere. And, it fucked up my whole PC so I had to delete it. But anyways, are you using a family computer or your own? If it is your own, then why would your parents choose it for you when you have the freedom to choose for yourself?
