:V Anyone wants to make a 10 billion score run?

Downloaded, tried it, can confirm that Border Team goes to Reimu.

This was unsurprisingly a lot of fun. Not without saying that this was probably me best run of Imperishable Night Normal of all times, with only losing my first life at Eirin and capturing Apollo 13 and Hourai Elixir for the first time each outside of Spell Practice.
Only thing that would have made this even better would be if it went all the way and would have added the Extra Stage to the end of it as well.
-
Maybe a "10 stage" patch could include Extra, followed by a stage with all the Last Words in a row...?
Extra/Last Words' non-variable difficulty would be a problem though...
-
I'm wondering something about this patch... Are there additional opportunities to earn extra lives? (Like, maybe after the 1100-point extra life, the next requirement could be either 1400, 1500, or 1600 point items. Also, maybe the player could get a 1-up from defeating Eirin in stage 6A.)

Nope, none of that happens. You pretty only have the lives you get from the start, point items, midbosses, stage enemies, etc.
I couldn't even get a 1cc with the 7-lives assistance in this.
-
@bigyihsuan:
Aw, I was hoping that there would be one or two more opportunities for 1-ups since you're playing through more stages than usual.

Not really, as every stage 2, 4, 6 give bombs on the midboss and 3, 5, EX/Phantasm for lives since the PC-98 games. Since you're going through stages 4 and 6 twice, you'll only get more bombs.

@Karisa
@7TC7
as you wish,⑨ stages patch uploaded.

Actually that was only from MS to MoF (plus various fan games that use the same system).
SA just uses the same system for every boss phase, and the following games mostly do too (but with exceptions-- UFO's 1ups from stage 4 and Extra, TD's +1 life/bomb spirit from stage 2+ midbosses and +1 bomb spirit from all Extra phases, DDC Extra's 4 bomb/life parts if you capture the final midboss spell).
SoEW gives 2 bombs from the stage 3 boss, a bomb and a 1up from the stage 4 midbosses (other midbosses don't drop anything), and a 1up and a bomb from the stage 5 (final) boss.
LLS was similar to MS-MoF but had a second midboss in stage 4 that gives a 1up, with no midboss in stage 5 (and stage 6 has normal enemies that give both a life and a bomb).
(yay for random details that are mostly irrelevant to the thread)
And I agree, adding a few more point item extends would make sense to compensate for the additional stages. Technically IN gives extends every 500 after 9999 (probably code left over from PCB), so if the 9999 extend was somehow moved to 1500 or so, it'd work I think. Though this way does add an additional endurance aspect.
-
You're always uploading the neatest stuff, rsy. Haven't tried this yet (kinda because I'm unable to currently), but it looks wicked. No extra extends to deal with 3 more stages? On Easy, maybe, but... wow.
On a side note, it'd be funny to see a patch for a Touhou game that sends you back to Stage 1, but with the Ultra Patch enabled, after you 1CC the game. Call it DoDonTouhou DaiYouSei.

2-round run? It seems not so easy to make this patch.
but we already have a patch to let players start from Stage 6 back to Stage 5,4,3,2,1. :derp:

credits are indeed very long, but it's a great patch.

Tried Lunatic first, and I entered stage 6B with nothing (no extends in stages 5 and 6's is pretty rough, and Reimu is horrible on Lunatic)

What did you do to Tewi ???
-
Replay. (http://replays.gensokyou.org/download.php?id=35706) Cleared 6/3. A lot of stupid mistakes. I could have cleared with full lives but whatever. Eirin kicked my ass because I barely play 6a. Extra stage was really sloppy too.
-
Holy crap, people can actually beat this on Lunatic? Impressive.
Well, I suppose if it's possible to LNMNB, anything is really POSSIBLE. :/
Have to ask, is the EX stage just EX? Does the difficulty setting have any bearing whatsoever?
-

seems no difference among all difficulties.
EX stage is just a "single stage" in practice mode.
-
I tried it on easy. Mokou sucked all my lives. And I went there with whole life bar. This shows, how far I am from clearing extra fairly... Oh well. Still cleared "Possessed by a Phoenix" though. And, no idea why, I got Imperishable Shooting. Huh. Anyway, it was very fun to play.
-
And, no idea why, I got Imperishable Shooting.
You may capture 7 spellcards to see Imperishable Shooting.
but , it counts from Stage 1 to EX in this patch.

Ah, that explains everything.

forget she drops an extend apparently :derp:

Barely cleared the 8-stage version on Easy with a 7-stock start, that was fun though. :D
