Nice.....the original series was good for some comedy and feels combined. Hope the new one fits the bill too!

OMG YES.
I loved the first season, so I'm expecting this one won't disappoint. Also the girl @ 0:46 remind me of Kosuzu. (must be the hair :3)
-
Hell yes! Man I missed that cast.

Dat possessed kotatsu.

Seriously. The unrealistic series are those where the same group of friends dress and style their hair the exact same way for all four years.
-
Get hype for more ass to pull over because dat too fat

I'M BURSTING FROM THE SEAMS WITH HYPE
This is such a ridiculously fun show

people grow, they change. Nibutani's image change probably will last 4 episodes max. Before she will be told - if you like being out there as a cheerleader cum chuuni, you should show off you chunni

in before JT does a woop woop viral on hoola hoops
-
Yeah it looks like Nibutani's image is going to go back to how she looked before since the OP and ED have her with her first design.
-
A good first episode. Not enough Rikka abuse though.
I appreciate Kumin's new gag routine.

THIS is how you use magic circles!

I eventually caved in and watched this, and the first episode of the predecessor. It's okay. I mean, I don't know. I'm willing to bet it's mostly the good visuals that's been a draw.
-
As with OreImo, Kevin-kun provides us with the best subtitles once again.
-
Oh hey, she showed up.
-
I'm willing to bet it's mostly the good visuals that's been a draw.
I actually remember exactly zero people mentioning the visuals of the first season, anyway. Most people were overall pleased with the representation of this special time in a teenager's life, the characters, the pacing and so on. The visuals? If it was brought up last time around I missed it.
-
these two are so adorable together dear god

I'm surprised that nibutani's appearance change disappeared immediately XD Rejoice for nibutani is back :D

Maybe it's because they weren't expecting those things. This stuff's KyoAni, so good visuals and animation is usually a given. I thought people liked the fight in what I think was episode two of the first season though.
-
Good fight scene this episode <_<
-
So Nibutani's change was an outfit for her role as a Miko in the drama club all along? and she just went with it??
or...
like Dekomori, she wanted to have this crazy change immediately before school starts?
-
Fucking seriously.
I don't want to like this new girl because she's so cute but I know how this will end
But she's so cute I want to like her but I'm holding myself back so much fuck
-

everyone is cute. why.

Another show Crunchyroll has inexplicably delayed. What the fuck?
-
That last part was crushing to watch in the best way possible. I had to puase two or three times and cover my eyes.
-
For an instant I expected things to actually go serious.
-
That last part was crushing to watch in the best way possible. I had to puase two or three times and cover my eyes.
I had to pause it to embrace myself for it.
But it was so heartwarming to see Sanae and Mori Summer get along like this. It was so beautiful.
-
two words: bros for lyfe.
Sanae x Nibutani
-
Sanae x Nibutani
^I second this.
Best couple in the show.
-

Personally I was looking for some closure or hints as to why Dekomori is so obsessed with her in the first place. Sure she followed Mori Summer and she's an idol of sorts to her, but especially the reaction in her room was pretty intense.
-
lesbians
not really
-
Sleepy Sheepies!
-
Finally I watched episode 4 and I also had to stop several times during the last part, also turning down the volume and me going "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa". I just couldn't watch without personally feeling embarrassed.
-
I can tell you you are not alone. As I was watching the part where she pulls out the mabinogion... I can imagine what would happen if anyone ever found my chuunibyou notebook from sixth grade... (oh god, that Dark Demon Cannon shit)
wasn't there a riling confess your own chuunibyou syndrome thread somewhere here? what happened???
-
i don't know what i'm watching anymore
-
That episode was pretty awful and I even like Kumin
-
wasn't there a riling confess your own chuunibyou syndrome thread somewhere here? what happened???
Wasn't that the thread about the first season? I remember people confessing their chuu2s there, me included.
-
Yeah this season is pretty much just for killing time, seems like they didn't really have a plan going into it.
This episode gave me a new sleepy waifu though :V
(http://i.imgur.com/GYLtPAr.jpg)
hnnngh
edit: I do really dislike how Isshiki has been shoved aside as a walking joke, he was bro-tier and actually likeable in the first season.
-

Well, let's continue with more confessing:
During my chuunibyou period I caught myself (and few times by family members) swinging a stick around like a sword and chanting randomly created words for some imaginary spells. I even managed to kind of influence one of my first friends ever so much that we kept trying to create a board game with RPG and TCG mechanics.
-
Ren is basically unwatchable.
-
Confession: When alone I still occasionally pretend to be wielding a sword (without having anything in my hands. I'll often imagine it has some sort of energy ofr fire coming off of it) or calling lightning down with my hands(swing hand down, bolt comes down. Swing other hand, another bolt. Cross arms and raise them, as if charging, then swing them down, uncrossing them, massive thunderbolt drops). More due to boredom than anything else, but eh, it's sort-of chuuni?
re: Chu-2 Ren Episodes Thus Far
I dunno, I kinda like the episodes so far, and the latest one's "fight" sequence was pretty neat(though the opening of it was kinda terrifying...), though I think this and the one before would have been better served as bonus episodes or OVAs or something. I'd like to see the Shichimiya influence get greater so we can watch the fallout and stuff since that seems to be the most promising plot.
-
I don't think I liked Ep. 5.
But srz. There's an actual napping contest? LOL.
-
Ren is basically unwatchable.
I dunno. I only seen 4 episodes so far (I watch 2 episodes at once), and I think this season is better than the first. A lot more dynamic and I think the comedy is better. And there's no "do I like her, do I like him" clich?d stuff (at least not that much, since there's a relationship going now), which is seriously annoying in animes now.
-
I do really dislike how Isshiki has been shoved aside as a walking joke, he was bro-tier and actually likeable in the first season.
Basically the letdown of the series for me.
I didn't like the chuuni scenes in the first season and I still continue disliking them because it's not funny to see the characters being retarded. Aside that, I see the second season as more of the same and I am okay with it.
-
we must have more confessions, who here still LARPs?
-
I am completely fine if the entire s2 is just these two developing the most wholesome relationship I've seen in anime for a while.
-

Careful now. If you watch closely, very closely...you can almost see the plot moving...
Seriously though, that was the first decent episode in a while.
-
Too bad the new season is not that good...

Plot is overrated. More healing please.
-
Lesbians.
-
Well that was kind of a lame payoff for so much setup.
(If you didn't catch it, that fake Mori Summer is seen stalking the group in almost every episode.)
So, I guess they have four episodes left to make this season worthwhile. Will they succeed?
...Of course not, Kyoani can't write for shit, they can only do adaptations :|
-

srsly
-
well fuck now I'm obligated to go back to the previous episodes to see her.
Does this go back to season 1 and the OVA? Because I swear if it does.
-
Nah, just this season. They're not easy to spot. Offhand I can find:
Episode 2: [attach=1]
Episode 4: [attach=2]

Told myself I wasn't going to like Shichimiya.
Lies. I tell myself lies a lot.
-

Lies. I tell myself lies a lot.
I'm suffering because Suchimiya is my favourite and I have a very good idea how things will end based on what I heard ;_;
-
Shichimiya has been friendzoned hasn't she...
so sad....
she needs to be the best character.
-
This is like Oreimo all over again
Except with a more likable main girl
and hopefully a less painful rejection to screw over the fans
(but seriously I hate when they bring a girl that I start liking more than the others but it's obvious she won't win)
-
That fucking hurt.
-
Chuunibyou stop
I love Satone too much to be able to handle this ;_;
-
Y'know, I was gonna be a contrarian and say I didn't like her after last week's episode - which was kind of true - but I changed my mind. Within the first minute, actually. That scene was buckets of fun.
-
i can't take this
satone no
-
apparently the lack of conflict in this season is a bit jarring. to me.
Given the first season actually had a healthy degree of agony surrounding Rikka's father
, it gave the characters so much more needed development and not to mention some of us audiences are a bunch of sadistic monsters who enjoy fictional tragedies
.
I just find it hard to relate to Satone
. :V Sorry guys.
-
SOPHIA IS OLEV
SOPHIA IS LIFE
SOPHIA IS CHUUNIBYOU
AND THAT IS QUITE ALRIGHT
-
Marathoned the first season a while ago and loved it, especially the second half. I was afraid that this season wouldn't hold up with the whole "love rival" storyline that's been done to death, but this has been a refreshing take on it.
This last episode especially made me tear up a little at the end. That face at the end. :( I love how Crunchyroll's summary describes Yuuta's ignorance as being "to the point of cruelty." It's perfectly accurate.
-
Yuuta, please die, don't hurt Satone anymore....
-
Fuck Satone owns a stick.
She fightan.
That's not fair Kyoani.
That's not fair at all.
-
I am the saddest person on this world.
because it is the worse.
why oh why break her heart like this.
but...
so conflicted.
-
Isshiki is so pitiable. I mean he doesn't deserve that treatment, nor does Satone, who's supposed to be the antagonist. Give me my beloved Chu2 with hidden depths back Kyoaniiiiii.
-
S2 was basically a disaster.
-
Did the original author actually write the story himself, or was Kyoani pulling the strings behind the scenes. The gap in styles is very much obvious and therefore jarring to the viewers.

I saw spoilers about what happened in the light novel.
I think they definitely pulled strings in this one. They didn't even include the part where Satone supposedly kidnapped Rikka out of jealousy, which I was expecting (and frighteningly so, as I still like Satone the most in this series). I'm fairly certain they took that out entirely into what was put in the anime
Correct me if I'm wrong though guys. I never actually read it, just what I heard.
-
Somehow it took me til like episode 10 to realize it, but I know why I liked Satone so much. I -was- her when I was in high school. That'd be the second time I've felt this type of connection to an anime character, and it's quite the interesting feeling.
Haven't watched the finale yet since CR doesn't have it out for free members yet, but I've rather enjoyed this season thus far, though some of the earlier episodes felt like they would have been best used as OVA side stories rather than being put in the main season.
Can't wait til the first season comes over here in...May, I think it was. Hopefully they'll release Chu2Ren here as well so we can have the complete set.
-
Finished it. While in the beginning I thought it was better than the first with a more dynamic humor, in the end it seemed like that the premise wore thin and just wasn't that interesting anymore. It just felt that there wasn't that big of a hit at the end and nothing really moved forward after the first few episodes. Which is okay, it was basically the premise of the season, I feel (change but no change), but still. It could have been more interesting.
-
You know what they ACTUALLY should have done with this season? Write a new story with new characters. Like, a chuuni dude and a normal girl, or something. Or not even a romance. Yuuta and Rikka's story is (and was) finished, but the premise still has plenty of potential.
Then again, with the shit writing this season it probably wouldn't have been any good anyway. ?\(?_o)/?
