Hehe, I remembered one of my lucky dodges in GFW: Extra mode, just after the midboss battle, where there are fairies that shoots out fireballs in a straight vertical line, while they are also shooting knives in my general direction that splits perpendicular after a while. I never liked that part, and often die there, but one instance that I was able to get a good freeze moment and the ice blocked most of my view, but I was able to move in between the fireballs without me seeing where I was actually, while still avoiding the knives.

Ever tried timing out SFN on ultra, guys?
No, seriously, there are several moments where you are practically unable to see even yourself, which is rather funny in my opinion. There are couple of really hellish walling waves after 30 seconds of Spell Card left, and you have to pray for your hitbox a lot.

During some unfocused pacifist adventures with ReimuC. It's hard to porttray in a still image, but I like how the afterimage Reimu leaves makes it seem like the hitbox moved straight through the bullet. Sometimes it feels like that actually happens.

I think it does happen if you can move fast enough in one frame. Someone should try flying through lasers and see if it can work.

If you don't get it, this is what happened:
1) Was moving left, just noticed the bullet RIGHT THERE.
2) Panicked, turned right.
3) Dodged like a ninja.
If you saw the replay of this, you'd see that the hitbox sprite itself was still on the bullet when I avoided it just barely(the sprite was still full size, and was shrinking), so I was so scared when I saw it during the run (which, of course, HAD to end to the final spellcard... @@)

But the best part is how it's so hard; no vertical ensures that I don't use diagonal movement against the bottom of the screen to bypass ReimuC's insane speed for better micrododge. My best so far survives 1 wave into miracle fruit after a perfect timeout of Sanae's first spell. :V

Everything on the stage portion can be NMNB without vertical movement if you are ReimuA, if you aren't then you will die to the fairies after Sanae.
Koishi first non is luck, first card is normal, second non is normal, second card is normal, third non is normal, capturing release of the id MIGHT be possible but it's hard, fourth non is luck, super-ego is normal, all the other nons are possible and youkai polygraph/embers of love are rape

SA normal run: Perfect Satori fight, enters stage 6 with 6 lives --> Ok, this should be another standard 1cc --> dies not once, but TWICE the beginning in stage 5 where all you have to do is NOT SHOOT AND MOVE SIDEWAYS.
About 5-6 minutes later, since I still had 4 lives left for that run and I decided to continue because I had somewhere to go right after.

The Master Spark hitbox is a giant rectangle.
So you can be in the spark without dying at the bottom but out of the spark near Marisa and dead.

Were you using the safespot in the middle to time this out or were you actually running around with the rotating part of the spell? I've managed to get in the middle once or twice but the amulets always end up going straight through the middle at some point and kill me. And note, this was when I was trying to capture it, let alone timing it out.

I was trying to time out the amulet hell phase, not the rotating phase.
So basically I shoot her down until the amulet phase appears, then I stop shooting and pray lol.
You can't time out the amulet hell phase by sitting in the center. It just won't work. Too many amulets T_T
I managed to get to 10s left, but *sigh* I'm not that good at going through dense amulet walls (they come after the "amulet hell")

I made a whole video dedicated to my rage at both forms of this card, believe me, I suffered. I just find this card to be EXTREMELY enjoyable. Occasionally, I just fire up StB or DS and play Seamless Ceiling until I clear, which normally takes anywhere from 5~10 minutes. Also, 194 pre-clear with Hatate :V seriously screw that purple bint.
I went back to the card because I had the brilliant idea of trying to get a good score on it. This failed, of course. I do not have the patience for that shit.

Satori's version. 16 shots to clear Satori's. My total photos on Kaguya's is 231 and the vast majority of those are from when I had a brain aneurysm and tried score running it or even worse trying to time the spell out.
Looking back over the video footage (since that video I made is literally all of my attempts on that card condensed into a minute of swearing) the exact number of photos I took prior to clearing the StB version was 39. I'd probably tack about ten or so onto that number for defensive shots I cut out of the actual video.
So yeah, I've got a fairly decent batting average when it comes to this card.

Oh, well, I suppose I did like the card to a certain extent, so it wasn't that bad.
As for patience, well, I am a bit eager and I usually don't stop what I'm doing before I'm done with it, but first and foremost, the factor that contributed the most to my patience is probably the fact that I was active in FFXI endgame for a few years. Still miss those times now that I'm no longer playing, ah, my youth, where did it go.

Did you happen to play DS before StB? that would explain it more than likely since I would assume most of us who did Satori's easier probably played StB and Kaguya's version first.

I did Kaguya's version first and found it easier. It's a little easier to take a defensive picture and continue to finish the scene, while Satori's feels like taking a picture of anything but Satori most likely means game over.

I tried timing a SA Easy speedrun, but I kept losing (I was just trying to finish the game to get a starting point). After 6 attempts I played with 50% slowdown (planning to cut the time in half when I finished) and still got game over (on Utsuho's penultimate). How is this even possible? ???

I did not win the fight in the end, but fighting the Lunatic AI is a surprisingly fun and relatively stress free way for me to improve my dodging skills, since I'm not under constant pressure to not fuck it up. Like spell practice but meatier.

I prefer moving in a sort of an 8 laying down shape, but the easiest and safest way to beat it is just to stream along the bottom of the screen, right? I don't think any shot-type is so weak that you won't kill the attack before leaving the centre, but if you would, you could just dash through a gap instead of cutting back.

Unless they are below full power I don't think any shot-type will need to change direction, I tried with MarisaC and B at 2.xx and full power respectively and they can do it no problem, I did have the frostthrowers at the centre of the screen when the attack started though.
I noticed a little bug/thing while doing the Marisa tries, probably old news, but if you bomb just before the dialogue starts the bomb will linger on Kanako and make her opener have about 25% less health when the fight begins. Same thing can happen in extra against midboss Kanako, so I assume it works the same way against all bosses in MoF.

I'm wondering about a "Lucky Dodges" compilation in the vain of the failure compilation videos that Ozzy does in that other thread we have around here.
Seems like it'd be a cool thing to have, we have compilation videos to celebrate our collective stupidity, so why not one to celebrate our collective ability to totally fluke dodges? :V
Unless something like that already exists and I've gone and overlooked it like a fool.

I actually wanted to do a compilation video for some time, but I never did for no apparent reason. That, and I don't know if I should make a new thread where users can submit lucky dodges (like the "Let's Fail Touhou" thread where users can submit mistakes).

Anyway, I made a list (https://dl.dropbox.com/u/64600169/luckydodgecompil.txt) of a very large chunk of the lucky dodges that have been posted in this thread. If a replay is available for every one of them (one is already available in some cases and are marked accordingly), I could easily do 2 or even 3 volumes (even though I don't have the 15-minute limit).
I'll PM everyone in the list who posted at least 1 lucky dodge, but has not made a replay file available (at least from what I know of). This goes for everyone who posted YouTube videos (marked accordingly), but has not made a replay file available, as well. If it's available on YouTube and the replay file is in the video description, then I won't PM you about it.
Just so you know, I can handle ultra patches as well as vsync patches, so don't worry about that.

Yaaaay! I look forward to the fruits of your labour. And seeing as dodges occur within a few seconds I'd say 6-7 minutes is a fairly reasonable length for a video of this nature, not too short at all.

The only replay which I think has a few lucky dodges (rather, I should have died several times over) would be the MoF hard 1cc I did a month or so ago.
Kanako's final spell, during the last 15 or so seconds when I have 0 power, I'm pretty sure I made about a dozen dodges which went sideways or completely through the amulets, and I know they have small hitboxes etc. but even they should have killed me with the movements I made. I was live streaming at the time to a friend and after I beat the spell we both agreed that those last few dodges were complete bull :derp:
Re-watching that part on slowmo, I made 5 or so dodges where my hitbox pretty much goes through the amulet. (I should count)

That one's actually a batch file which renames the ultra patch to th08Ultra.exe and restores the original th08.exe. The actual ultra patch is a .exe (Windows executable) and is normally named th08Ultraモードパッチ.exe (or th08Ultra*gibberish*.exe).

However, it is not required to make a replay file available, but it's strongly advised that you do, so that I can record it. If you don't want to make the replay available, then fine. I can deal with that.

Just got around to recording a few lucky dodges from my 90 fps Fujiyama Volcano attempts from earlier this month. A few going through the streams and a couple close misses with the red circle ones. Oh, and one dodge into the exploding one that decided to shoot the bullets away from me, haha, see 1:02 in the vid.

If you can do that consistently you could probably go for the optimal EX-7 time for speedrunning, I think it requires you to do this twice in a row (including getting the 25% chance optimal Reimu attack direction), except while charging the camera while dodging the rings. :V

Admist the rampant failure of this run, I did have a couple of amazing dodges, notably Ichirin's final spell card in stage 3.

Honestly, I feel you slow down a little too much. For example, when I was watching Nindella's VoWG performance, it was really hard to watch because it seemed like everything he did was followed by a slowdown. Slow down the ones that might be easy to miss, but let us watch everything else normally imo. Still a great video, good work!

I never said it was necessary to include a replay, just recommended, so that I can record it. This means you can still just include a screenshot and/or a description and/or a YouTube video of what happened, without providing a replay (although I won't be able to record it, but that's fine).
On another note, Volume 4 might contain a (bilingual Luxembourgish/English) surprise (not saying what it is), but I don't know. I'll let the thread decide if this is a good idea or not. By the way, I promise that there will be less slow-mo repeats (hopefully).

It's a shame I don't have a replay for it (EoSD EoSD EoSD) but I basically dodged Remilia's first card as if the hitboxes were of any other game's. At least three times, for a cap. It was at 75fps but the dodges would be just as crazy at normal speed.

Does it give you a large Japanese (or simply unreadable) error message? If so, you should check to make sure you named all of your dats correctly.

Pretty much, and with a large spoonful of praying to the God of RNG. I haven't figured out a technique to beating it besides pure read and dodge, and I usually capture it better if I focus completely on dodging every ring one at a time.... err, that doesn't make sense! :wat:
At the moment my history with the spell is 96/402, which is just under 1/4 I guess. I do fail it 75% of the time :V

this is hilarious. Kandata's Rope at 90 fps, attempted pacify. just for the heck of it. I didn't even survive for 20 in-game seconds, but I still pull 2 or 3 crazy dodges.
but yeah, this stuff is really awesome and fun. I actually wouldn't mind trying this for months. I fucking laugh at how I see nothing and still dodge a whole lot.
but I believe that timing it out would be inhumane. not impossible, but man...crazy stuff.

Oh man, this was ridiculous. I really wish I was recording when it happened... Anyway, I'm playing LLS Hard, which I haven't really done much practice on, and I get to this attack of Elly's (http://i.imgur.com/MvWVM.png). Well I tried to go left to loop around it but I knew I didn't have time so I sorta just parked myself between the bullets - the red dot is a rough estimate of where I stopped moving. 2 4 amulets at the bottom. The whole run is no focus so of course that lends itself to some crazy stuff. Stage 4 might have something good, and maybe something in Byakuren's final since I did manage to cap it. It's already in the making, I just didn't bother showing the progress in my sig, and to be honest, I'm a bit busy with real-life stuff right now.

It features one of Esu's dodges with a zoomed-in effect (as suggested by I have no name in the comments of Volume 3). And yes, I do 100% of the editing in Avisynth (with VirtualDub to preview the script). By the way, instead of using annotations, I'll use hard subs from volume 4 on (should be easy with Aegisub + an Avisynth plugin I forgot the name right now).
With this many replays, there's probably going to be 2-4 more volumes, so if yours isn't featured: Don't worry, it will in one of the future volumes.

@Bang Jan: Not in Volumes 4 or 5, but very likely in Volumes 6 or 7 or 8, but... they will be included, that's for sure.
@BT: I'll try my best to keep slow-mo repeats whenever they're really needed.
As for the question... probably around 10-12 minutes, which is not too long, I guess (at least it's not 19 minutes).
Oh, by the way, the slow-mo repeats will be slightly faster (1/3 of the normal speed instead of 1/6).

I forgot to save the replay to record it, but I just got the most amazingly lucky capture of Red Frog in ... whatever whatever.
I'm going around having actually gotten the two of them firing in a proper pattern, which I've only managed a handful of times before. Timer's at about 6 seconds left, I'm in the lower right, and suddenly one of them shoots straight up the wall and to the left, blocking me in. Nowhere else to go, I move left a bit and let them come back down, running away into the only clear spot, the center of the screen. 3 seconds on the clock, and I've got absolutely nowhere to move. I ought to bomb, but I'm just watching the clock, hoping it'll time out before they dash again... 1 second to go, one of them leaps straight at me... and passes through without harm, the red shots spawning pixels away from me on every side. Time out, I win.

My first SA Stage 5 Normal perfect, and I SO did NOT deserve it. Right from the beginning, I'm distracted watching CNN, and walk straight into an entire cluster of bullets and somehow just live. I make some totally wild jumps during Orin's nonspells which I somehow pull off time after time. By the time I get to the final spell I'm pretty nervous, and totally screw it up at the last second, sitting in a huge mess of bubbles... and fly straight through. Just put the PC-98 recording (if available) on a file sharing site that doesn't suck (e.g. Mediafire (even though it has a 200 MB filesize limit) or ge.tt (http://ge.tt)). Be aware that if it was done on Anex86, I will replace the BGM with a Neko Project 21 recording, since Anex86 has terrible sound emulation. I will accept recordings done on Anex86, though. (note: that's just me being me, since I favour emulator accuracy)
Just as a reminder: I will not accept YouTube uploads (unless a replay is available or if I can find it), because YouTube butchers the video quality. No exceptions.

Exactly why I'm saying ARF should do it, but with the original sounds there. Side distracting stuff like in the cactu montage detracts from the video IMO, since it's a lot harder to see the dodges.

It's subjective. I like the focus sometimes as it's hard to catch good dodges at their normal speed. I guess stuff like special effects is a bit over the top, though.

Well, for those ones I liked how fsvgm replayed it, but slowed down so you could actually see what just happened in more detail.

Just faced Hourai Doll and beat Mokou for the first time each. I started without lives or bombs, and I went right through like 6 to 8 of those swinging danmaku. It was pure luck... over... and over... and over...
I still feel cool though. It was also the first time I capped all three Ex-Keine cards, not that it's hard once you know the sweet spots for Past and the streaming pace to have in Future.

If after the dodge you thought you were dead or just should be dead (I fell like these are different things) then it's probably a lucky dodge. Imo, that wasn't a lucky dodge since the hitboxes for those
jellybeans oval things are surprisingly small but unless you play the high difficulties you never really get a detailed impression of how big the hitboxes are since you basically need to be forced to use that knowledge to obtain said knowledge in the first place :P

Has some awesome moments of not getting hit with fast circular bullets (like at 24 seconds left, there's another later) and not crashing into amulets Reimu almost spawned on top of me. First and foremost, I can't take over the series again because of real life being in the way. That means it will be left to whoever wishes to continue making the series. (note to whoever wishes to continue the series: As long as you start from Volume 11, you're fine)
The reason I'm making this post is because I'm the one who's managing the YouTube playlist (since I created it) and thus I need to know who's taking over.
As far as I know, somewhere between me resigning and ARF taking over, I have no name wanted to continue making the series if he found a proper video editing software.
Now, the question isn't if he should take over. The question is who do you see fit in continuing the series, because as ARF mentioned in his post, an agreement needs to be reached. In my opinion, if I have no name manages to find an editing software that suits him, it should be him. Do you agree? If you disagree, do tell who should take over the series instead.

I've asked a friend what they use and am going to need some good software for some Ape Escape comparisons I want to make (by "good software" I mean "something that isn't Movie Maker gluing clips together"), so I am definitely alright with keeping the series alive.
If someone else is preferred of course they can do it, and if I'm the preferred choice I'm fine with continuing. One thing to note, though, is that it's likely I wouldn't be able to get Volume 11 together until late January due to, you know, going to AGDQ :V

I think I'll mention a lucky dodge that I had during my best Extra run of Mountain of Faith a couple years ago:

During Suwako's fifth spell card, Frog Hunting "Snake Eats the Croaking Frog" (which starts at about 6:24 in the video), I moved the wrong way during one of the waves (at about 94 seconds left on the spell card's timer) and practically got smothered by bullets, except somehow, none of them hit me!

I may not have beaten Nue yet (mostly for lack of trying) but if I had made it to her final two spells before, this replay (http://replays.gensokyou.org/download.php?id=31417) would've definitely done it. I got ridiculously lucky in so many spots in this run. Most notably, the very start of the blue UFO spell, a lot of close shaves in the 7th nonspell, and dodging through a black cloud as it spawned bullets about 20 seconds into following spellcard. Then I got to Nue's survival for what was essentially the first time and it wrecked me, but details.
Also, the last bullet I dodged during the third nonspell was entirely too close, some bullets barely missed spawning on top of me at the end of the rainbow UFO spellcard, and the red UFO spell might count too, but I don't know the hitbox on those UFOs very well... though I do seem to remember they're usually not forgiving at all, with how often they barely crash into me and kill me. Either way, I've never seen the game be so lenient with some of these hitboxes before (and so many times, too!)

When your multiplier is at 999x in Advanced/Unlimited/Terminus you get a hyper. Items entering the hyper ring release extra items that give invincibility frames (you can hold up to a maximum of 60 frames or one second) so the items that are falling around you are just making you invincible. You can also press C to cancel the hyper and convert all suicide bullets into those items. Said items also restore your multiplier to a maximum of 998x, so you want to convert a lot at once so you can chain one hyper directly into another one.

On my first default-lives run of PCB normal, during the random spam in the sixth stage before midboss Youmu, I decided to suicide to auto-collect point items for the next life.... Either way during the spam I unfocused, moved in a triangle shape to get myself hit, and.... survived by pure luck. I then focused and dodged the rest and still got an extra life out of all that :V
I just did some tests-- the stage gives 136 point items if you remain at full power and collect everything until Youmu. By simply dodging the pattern (or dodging followed by a "natural" death after shooting most/all the enemies), I gained ~100-125 from the dialogue auto-collect, while a suicide resulted in a gain of ~67-110 depending on how many enemies were shot before reaching full power again (or escaped during the death).
I forgot about the auto-collect when Youmu arrives. If I didn't I would've tried to stay alive :V

In case you didn't know, many enemies/bosses in the series (from LLS to MoF) drop more point items if you're at full power... so I'm not sure an intentional suicide would help much.

It should be noted that you can suicide for a border and still get all 136 items if your suicide is timed correctly. You will see this strategy in some high-scoring runs.

I was going to but my laptop has so many issues trying to record Touhou lately (or even just play it) that it's rather unfeasible for me to, at least with my current computer.
However, it's still nice seeing all the random fluke dodges even if compilations aren't put together, and there's nothing stopping anyone else from picking up where fsvgm and ARF left off (I believe ARF said it was post 600).

If I could find a good recording program that either 1. Records at 60FPS and doesn't eat my computer or 2. Records at 30FPS and doesn't trigger my OCPD, I would.
Actually, now that I think about it, Fraps would be a good idea. I'll try to get back to this within 12 hours of the original posting time and give a verdict.
It'd be a lot to do, but to be completely frank I am the definition of a neet until 25 August.
EDIT: Okay, fraps works, but it chugs a bit at 60fps, so slowdown sections are going to be a LITTLE choppy with 30fps.

EDIT: I may have to mention this: I'm going to have to record at 30FPS if things get kinda choppy. This doesn't sound bad until you realize that I have to show slowdown and frame by frames. I may need to rely on someone for some of the later games if it's impossible for me.

What I did was downloading them in post order, then put the replay names (along with possible conditions like 90 FPS or Ultra patch) in a text file until I had about 30 of them. That text file served as my recording checklist. If I felt there were too many dodges by one user (5 was my upper limit), I just delayed them until the next volume for more variety (at least, that's what I would have planned if I continued making the series past Volume 6). In order to make my task simpler as to which dodge was by who, I renamed the AVI files accordingly (like x1.avi, x2.avi, y1.avi), and if I made 2 or more AVI files for the same replay, I renamed the AVI files xpart1.avi, xpart2.avi, and so on.
Once I recorded all of them (in a separate folder, mind you), I just opened the Command Prompt and typed "dir /b *.avi > checklist.txt". This served as my editing checklist. At this point, I pretty much chose whatever fit best in my eyes. I believe that's what ARF did as well.

Not only will I have a compendium of replays, but I will also have a method of transferring replays so that I know what to use in each episode.
Then once I choose what would take up ten to fifteen minutes, I'm going to figure out some funny way to order it. Of course, I'm going to make sure everyone has equal-ish time in the spotlight.

I technically work with OpenOffice, which is basically a free/legal version of MSOffice. It's a lot less pretty than MS Excel, but it can still save in Excel 2003 files.
Yeeeeeeah, this is gonna take a while. But then again, by the time I get to Page 30-31 (Depending on how long it takes), it'll just be one at a time :V

As I said before, I fixed myself a limit of around 30 replays per volume.
Also, the video should be at most 8 minutes long, though 10 minutes is still fine, in my opinion.

EDIT: Okay, here's the gist of what I told him: Don't give a huge collection of replays without marking any of the dodges that happened in them. As much of a neet as I am, Even I don't have the time to do that. It's nothing against you, Picochilla, but I decided not to include it on partial grounds of sleep deprivation and the fact that I would have to spend days searching through your replays and I MIGHT find something good. No hard feelings.
One thing you notice in the compendium is the pattern of the following criterion (and I'd appreciate if this were put into the next thread's OP for not just me but anyone else who wants to do this):
- A .rpy file attached by either replays.gensokyo.org or the attachments function on this message board.
- A point of reference within the replay (Be it pre/post-midboss stage portion, a nonspell, midboss nonspell, boss card, a specific point in the stage that identifies itself by light description, etc.
I don't know how I can make this sound not rude. :( Just take it for what it is: Attach a replay file (and not a youtube video unless it's with a replay file because fsvgm and I are kinda compression nazis for lack of a better term) and tell me where it is if it's longer than a spellcard. I'd hate to use you as an example, but that's what it is. No hard feelings, as I said before.
EDIT: I also figured out the 60fps issue for TH6-9. Apparently it's actually slower for Fraps to record to a USB HDD than an internal HDD. I don't get it either. Maybe it's the flaw of USB2 that led to USB3?

Regarding recording FPS-- YouTube is 30fps anyway, so there's no reason to record at 60fps if you're uploading there.
...Or are you slowing the recorded video down to show frame-by-frame dodges or something? Is that why the topic of changing video speed was mentioned?

Yes, exactly.
I figured out the problem, so the only parts of the video that won't feature slowdown EVER (Except in very specific instances because it was just so awesome and I'm too lazy to rerecord at the moment because stomach virus blah blah bitching blah) are PCB. EoSD was a LITTLE jittery (By little I mean the frames only chugged during gameplay but for some reason show up fine in the recording which is also 60fps for EoSD), but it's not jittery enough that it sets off my OCPD. I've recorded IN's replays and PoFV's replays. I'm saving DS and StB for last in terms of recording location because they're the games that don't involve me searching when timing description isn't present.

Regarding recording FPS-- YouTube is 30fps anyway, so there's no reason to record at 60fps if you're uploading there.
I've heard they updating to 60FPS soon.

Do you still have THIS replay? Is it uploaded somewhere? I'd love to include it, but Sony Vegas has a bit of a vendetta against downloaded youtube videos (And besides, double compression on youtube is quite possibly the most hideous thing imaginable ;-;)

Also, just a note: Seeing as I want the lucky dodges involved to be "lol what happened to the fucking hitbox" stuff, there may be patches of stuff that went unrecorded because either A. I couldn't find what was considered "lucky" in the replay, or B. I thought that what was considered "lucky" in the replay was kinda meh and just an overreaction, which I hold nothing against anyone over.
I'll try to go through the videos and mark what I did/didn't record yet because I don't want someone to be tapping their finger on their desk wondering "WHERE THE FUCK IS MY REPLAY?" after watching the three-to-five videos I might make from all of these replays.

Huge update post
I'm afraid that due to a string of rather serious issues, I cannot make the next video in the series. I was hoping to get it done by now, but between shuffling between recording/editing programs, a whole lot of development hell, and the fact that school is right around the corner, I won't be able to make the videos and still make everything else fall in line. I knew I'd have to go back on my attempt to make these, so that's why I'll still keep the replay compendium: It'll help those who want to take my/arf's/fsvgm's place in this series. My only request is that if you can, post a log with your video that lists all of the replays used in the video so that I can edit the dropbox spreadsheet accordingly.
Tl;dr version: I spent too much time planning, got lazy, etc, PoFV tournament started overshadowing this as a form of procrastination (worst part of being a teenager, I know...), and school rolled in so I won't have any time to deal with my own affairs if I try to fit this in.
I'll still attempt to record/edit, but keep in mind that now that I have to worry about school, I may end up waiting until November or December if school's gonna be as busy as I think it will be. If the 40GB in recordings from EoSD to SA (excluding StB) is needed in case you want to take over, ask me.

By some miracle, I somehow wasn't hit by anything towards the end of the Reisen battle in stage 4 here when I let myself get trapped in the lower-right corner! Also, during the same run, I had some lucky dodges during my second life against Shikieiki as well!

During a Touhou 9 run I just did, using Yuka on Hard, against Shikieiki in stage 9:

I had a lot of lucky dodges during that battle, but I think the one that takes the cake is about 1:52 into the first round (about 18:34 into the video), where I was pretty sure I was gonna die to a barrage coming at me, but none of the bullets in that barrage hit me, even when I was sitting still for most of the barrage! (However, I did die to another barrage about 15 seconds later, but at least I came back and defeated Shikieiki in the second round.)

These are 1 frame apart. The one on the right is the first frame after the card finished (and the first frame of invincibility). The one on the left is the last frame of no invincibility. Literally frame perfect O_o

Dodging Yuyuko's false final on lunatic for like 30-40 seconds unfocused to get a border.
... I got it, but with ridiculous dodges. Multiple near misses with the butterflies, etc.
I lost the border nigh immediately :V

Well, I ended up starting a slight bit above where one of Boss Youmu's waves begin then fly backwards on her first nonspell.
I moved down in fright, and Reimu forgot she had a hitbox.
And later in MoF, Reimu decided not to get hit, even when trapped twice, in stage 3 lunatic.

So, I decided to try SA stage 3 lunatic.
All going (relatively) well and fine until Knock Out in Three Steps.
Dodge first wave, nice.
Have bullet spawn on me in second wave. Not noticing the fact (or not thinking about) the bullets spawned around me, I decided to try being in the middle, hoping my being there would de-spawn the bullets spawning around me.
It didn't, because that would trivialize the attack.

I'm not yet much of a Touhou player, having started playing the games only last month. My achievements so far are EoSD Normal 1cc and PCB Normal 1cc, as well as PCB's Extra (just today).
However, having discovered the Dodging like a Boss series, I just know I've already had something for it.

I was going to detonate my Supernatural Border, but ended up inadvertently dodging, unfocused, the whole curtain as well as the final two streams of blue and red bullets. Unfortunately, the rest of the replay is shameful display, as I wasn't even familiar with Ran's spell cards past a certain point (it shows).

Used to play the shit out of PCB on Easy, but never 1CCed it. Always played with Sakuya due to her homing shot, though, so the bigger hitbox made it a bit more painful. Eventually, I quit for a really long time.
Today, I decided to play again for a bit, but I remembered that on at least one computer it ran at half speed without the vsync patch. So I decided to test the game and, on a whim, started with ReimuA.
First of all, ReimuA is also a homing shot, so I had no need to use Sakuya in the first place. :o
Second, purely as a way of testing my FPS (it's OK in windowed, not sure about fullscreen, haven't checked that yet) I popped the game up on Lunatic for lulz and whims and somehow managed to pass almost all of stage 1 perfectly without dying or bombing... on what is literally my first try in SO many months.
Died twice on Letty Whiterock's final pattern, but meh, it's Lunatic, I expected to die WAY earlier than that cause I usually suck. Not sure if it's luck or if it's rRootage practice paying off.

Not too sure if this is really only for lucky dodges and not for silly challenges as well, kind of something I uploaded a while ago but I made some sort of volume including both. I feel like making a new one sometime

I unfortunately haven't any replays to show, but I was pulling some very arrogant and risky moves while I attempted to challenge Flandre today. I ended up screwing up the pattern at the beginning of the stage, but somehow managed to pull myself out of it after being pushed dangerously close to the edge. The hype moments unfortunately stop there because I failed before I even made it to Patchouli; no doubt my worst run of the extra stage.

It'd be nice if you actually put in more detail (i.e. which stage, which attack, etc.). I personally think that in such threads, posting as much detail as possible (if possible, with video/replay or photo evidence) greatly helps in understanding your posts.
Anyway, I know this comes super-super-late, but Touhou - Dodging like a boss (if you still remember the video series) is done and over with. Volume 11 is not going to happen. I won't come back to this decision (which I actually took silently several months ago).

Sorry for the bump, I couldn't find a more recent edition so I guess this is still current?
Anyway, I was practising MoF Easy no vertical, and this happened. This nonspell is entirely doable (at least on Easy); either go through the red bullets, or simply kill the pattern before it kills you.
Instead, I glanced at the red bullets, decided I didn't like the angle they were coming at, and went straight through the blue bullets....
