That's what I mean, pocketing is fine for strategical maneuvers like pushing a point or countering an ambush. I just want to smack medics that pocket someone and then refuse to heal anyone else. Bad medics!

And I find I actually somehow manage to survive a bit better as a Medic than anyone else I've played as. I typically zip around and heal people that need it and avoid combat anyways, so if I do get into a scrape my regen will usually fix me up quick enough.

And the syringe gun is a bit better in bad situation that I would imagine. I got chased by a pyro and managed to stay just out of his flamethrower range and shower him with needles of doom. Of course, why the crazy buffoon didn't just take out his shotgun is beyond me.

Probably had Flaregun habits. Whenever I tote around my Flaregun for a while and forget that I swapped back to my shotty, I tend to neglect it in favor of juuuuust trying to torch my target. Not a good habit to get into.

Re: Medicking

Hell yeah it's fun. I've gotten a Blutsauger and Kritzkreig, along with a Vita-Saw now, and I gotta say - on Payload maps, where everyone is constantly pushing the front lines back and forth, that Kritzkrieg fills up fast. I can count on getting at least two off in a single life if I'm near the front lines, or if I'm ducking back a ways and healing people as they retreat, I can come forward with probably four Kritz ubers. Heavies, Soldiers, and Demomen get my top priority, but one time on a whim, I attached myself to a Pyro.

We ended up pushing so hard the cart made it from the second checkpoint all the way up to right before the last one in our wake, we were torching everyone and causing so much chaos. All in all, our little rush only lasted about twenty seconds or so, but distracting the other team let the stragglers behind us pick them off as they turned around to chase us, and the Kritz'd Pyro burnt anyone who stood in his way in a damn hurry. Took out an in-progress Engy nest in a heartbeat, too. It was great.
I forget the map, but it's the one that starts out in the canyonade and then goes into the industrial park, where the last checkpoint is down in the bottom of a concrete basin, and the track veers off to the left before it dumps the bomb in.
(The map this video starts in)

In short, Medicking is fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun and if you do it right you can turn the game in a short amount of time.

Sometimes weapon models won't load for me on a certain server.  I've backstabbed a sniper with an invisible razorback before. :(

Are you using custom models? Some servers prevent the use of custom textures but not custom models. So instead of seeing the default model, it's either invisible or a wireframe.

I've been getting invisible weapons sometimes, too; nothin like watching a Pyro run around spraying fire from his hands like some kind of stunted kamehameha wave.

Only custom thing I use is a crosshair.

Try to get somewhere they aren't, and lo and behold, there's a Soldier falling out of the sky on you.

...what's the point of that? Everyone just spawns as Soldiers and rocketjumps around while hoping for lucky aerial kills. Whoopdeefrikkindoo.
Luck?  Where we're going, we don't need any luck.

Also, that's not a comp server, hat's just a retarded server. :V  2 scouts 2 soldiers 1 demo 1 medic is the standard comp lineup, but the other classes get used frequently too.  I almost always play Pyro in 6v6, and always in 9v9.

Apparently Red Team winning Egypt never happens. It just did. I don't want to sound incredibly egotistical but damn I was keeping everyone alive well.

When I'm RED on Egypt my team usually wins a good 75% of the time.  Even if the defense gets fudged (or idiots don't listen when we're losing the first point and the second gets spy capped) BLU gets beat back on either the second or third points.  The plan is the same as any dedicated defense:

  • Have good medics:  They spread the heals around and don't do stupid shit like trying to go battle medic or repeatedly get backstabbed (they also shouldn't be dumb enough to heal spies).  Kritzes are generally good, but ubers are usually preferable due to your ability to keep any progress from being made when BLU is rushing the point with an uber.
  • On the subject of ubers: Be aggressive.  Push BLU back, don't turtle like a little bitch.  Uber out, wreck their sentries and teles.  When another uber or kritz is ready group up and push again, don't let their engies get another nest up.
  • Kritzes and spies: Kill their fucking medics.  Spies shouldn't worry about their score and suicide if it results in the death of a medic.  If you're going to waste time hiding instead of stabbing go play something more useful like a medic.
  • Pyros to spy check and block ubers.  Medics should heal the pyro while airblasting so they don't die.
  • Soldiers and demos, one heavy should be fine.
  • Engineers that aren't mentally deficient.

just like blue team winning cp_steel
What?  Steel is very winnable by BLU, and the stats show BLU with a slight lead in wins.
Cheating? I cannot even wrap my head around the point of it. Wouldn't you know you had cheated? How on Earth could you maintain crisp certainty of your superiority to all others? And if you're unable to do that, what's the point of anything?

how to troll medics:
1) rocket jumper/gunboats/equalizer
2) get ubered

I was perusing the Steam TF2 forums and found a topic that is documenting crates and what people have gotten from them.

Quote
As of post 377: 1155 crates = $2875.95
As of post 457: 1369 crates = $3408.81
As of post 1051: 2579 crates = $6421.71

Dear jesus Valve is making bank from this.

Well that kicked all kinds of ass.

Broke my records all over the place as a Medic.  New records are:
37 points
22 assists
7 Ubercharges
10447 healing

That was frickin' awesome.

More goodies... though it's kinda bittersweet at best.

Crafted a melee slot token and a medic class token. Forged those with a metal to get... a vita-saw. Did I mention I had USED a vita-saw in that crafting? Angst.

Otherwise though, good stuff. Got a crate which I was able to trade for an Axtinguisher and found a Southern Hospitality.

And hooray for reflecting rockets/arrows!  I'm still lousy at it, but I'm getting better, and it's ever so much fun to kill those damn soldiers with their own weapons.  Also picked up I think four achievements with one uber rush.

And the frontmost house in Dustbowl Stage 2 is Pyro heaven.

Sometimes I'll be on a roll, poppin' rockets back at the enemies (any hits are purely accidental at this point) and other times I'll be off by just a split second and I get gibbed. Or, alternatively, I reflect a rocket back at a Soldier as he goes around a corner or something, firing one parting shot, and I'll reflect that one, too, but it'll disappear and a heartbeat later I gib. Laaaaag :C

Still, the vast improvement I'm getting from when I first started Pyroing is fun. I know how you feel :D

Are there any general tips for playing an offensive Gunslinger engie? I tend to plop mini-sentries in less visible areas but more often than not they still get picked off or everyone decides to not run around that area.  It would probably help if I had a Frontier Justice as well but oh wells.
