Title: Create your own Deities and Youkai!
Post by: Alrisandre Margaletrisame on October 09, 2009, 03:07:39 PM: I'm sure a fair number of us have created deities for things that aren't in Touhou (just yet), so, here's a place to discuss the unsung deities! If you have one, what he/she is a deity of, and try to describe what he/she would look like, what unusual features there would be, and what kind of strange powers he/she would possess! I'll comprise a list of these unsung deities here, and toss out a few ideas of my own for the MotK crew to build from if they wish. Pictures are fun too!

Like, I wonder what a spider deity would look like, and what she would be named? And while on that subject what would her relationship be with Wriggle? Maybe Wriggle had a lost sister cricket youkai?

Maybe a series of food and confectionery-based youkai would make an interesting bunch? (Lol "Taffy" and "Oden")

What would other gods/deities that already exist look like if they were made into Gensokyo lolis? (Lol Odin, the Nords, and Fenrir)

The power over coincidence maybe needs some explanation: When something has a Fate, there are a line of actions what leads to this Fate. This Fate cannot be changed, not even with Coincidences. For me, the power of Coincidence, is the power to change these lines' so they can cross each other, bind together, and linking themselves to a new Fate. Thus, this power is like the natural enemy of Remilia's Power over Fate. She can change the Fate of anything or anyone, yet the power of Coincidence can sever the Lines of Actions binded to those Fates and binding to another Fate.
Or something like that.

Anyway, I somehow imagined this character of mine as a fairly weak one, because he's a He, and Guys are bad in Danmaku. But he, coincidentally, learned Onmyodo magic to control wild Fairies or to summon his own Fairy Shikigamis. But, he's still weak, but at least he can do basic danmaku.

I kinda created him subconsciously while I was obsessed with Touhou, just like I always do when I'm obsessed with something. I'm planning to use in one of my fanworks if I ever get motivated to do something like that. What is unlikely.

Yeah, Fanwank. But I somehow imagine that most of us have some kind of "other selves" what could belong to the world of Gensokyo.
Also I have another OC, based of some person I know; she'd have the Power over Karma.

Personality: Although she embodies the phrase "What goes around comes around", she's fairly naive, so sometimes she will give unjust fortunes. Extraordinarily innocent, she would never rig a contest or give someone bad karma out of spite or something of the sort, and always believes that her choices are right, no matter what it is.

Likes: People who do good deeds, obviously. She also likes cats.

Dislikes: People who speak poorly of her decisions.

Appearance: Gold eyes, short green hair with a long length down each of her shoulders tied with a gold bow, and topped with a green beret shaped like a clover. She wears a blue-green gradated one-piece blouse that fits around to her lower thigh where it frills off, and at the collar, there's a golden horseshoe design. She only wears socks on her feet. She carries a tambourine and has a Maneki Neko figurine on a necklace.

Location: Hidden beach and geyser beyond the mountains outside of Mayohiga

Personality: Serious about her job, but she would rather sit in her own little paradise instead of being praised by the humans, who adore summer. Not shy, but humble. A bit too happy. Even though her paradise is secluded from humans, she is still often visited by youkai and others who can fly. Although in the same manner, rarely leaving the valley means that she doesn't do much worth mentioning.

Likes: Summer, human sports and umbrellas. Interested in the outside world's polar seasonal system.

Dislikes: Those who disturb her valley to cause trouble, mainly. She's too laidback and giddy to care much about disliking things. She doesn't even dislike winter, as she hibernates all through. The first natural snowflake that hits the ground signals her sleep.

Appearance: Orange eyes. Blonde hair, long, wavy and flowing, sporting a straw summer hat with a blue ribbon. Her top is comprised of a sort of large shawl overtop of a simple blue full-chest bikini. The shawl is split at the shoulders and flows over her chest and back and has a flower pattern. The bikini also covers all the way down to her midsection, and tails out at the sides. Her bottom is also a sort of shawl, wrapped around her waist and tied. It's rainbow-colored and goes down to her knees.

Name: Deka Tantei | 出日・短艇
Ability: Ability to spot incredible detail, although possesses exceptional skills in sleuthing.
Occupation: Runs a solo detective business in a mobile house that wanders around Gensokyo.
Species: Youkai
Stage: 3

Danmaku: Homing bullets and detective-like patterns. How is it detective-like? Dunno.

Personality: (This is actually supposed to be empty, but she's you know, DETECTIVE. I solve your problems for a sum, Elementary, my dear Reimu, witty and sarcastic, uses logic and rhetoric to confuse the hell out of people and make from sound retarded, etc.)

Likes: Hats, books and people who pay well for her services.

Dislikes: Cases with no leads, dead ends, being broke. (In this way, I found her to be very similar to Nitori interpretations)

Appearance: Traditional detective agent. Green eyes and short, wavy white hair that curls on end. She wears a plaid Sherlock Holmes-style detective cap, and an open brown coat (+tail) with buttons all the long. A yellow ribbon is tied to her left arm. Underneath the coat is ANOTHER COAT, tan in color and buttoned up. A (design pending) skirt covers light beige leggings, and traditional Gensokyo shoes.

I just found it incredibly funny that recently ZUN referenced Laputa in the UFO music room, as Laputa is the main setting for the plot. I created the plot and characters about a month after SA, too.

Personality:happy,innocent but a bit glutton.Very confident.her original parents died in a sad accident,and was adopted for a human family.Her smell sense is good,but more with the strange spell who affected the half youkai...and the scent of truffles atraccted her to the forest,and begins to search shrooms removing the earth...and with that,avalanches started!

Ability:manipulation of ropes,knots and bonds
Occupation:Pet-Guardian dog inugami
Species:Inugami (black)
Stage:4
Danmaku:normal danmaku and ropes,crochet patterns,shibari paterns,macrame paterns...hojojutsu too.
Spell cards:more weak than the girls ones,only have the half of the duration of the normal ones.
Relationship:was the little dog of Kourin before "dies" and transform into a inugami.
Location:is a vagrand;walks for all Gensokyo searching his master.
Personality:extremadly faithful to his loved master (who only remember his face,like a little child with sad eyes) and for that,even transformed into a inugami....and looks girly because was only a puppy when was killed.With the recient strange acting of the rain and the magic in the air,Akita feels who his master is in danger and run to the sky searching if are there,and will defend him even with his life.

Dislikes:intrudes and bad people.

Relationship:master of Honey and a helping person.
Location: somewhere in Gensokyo...
Personality:naive and very good person...she wants help to the Gensokyo people to no suffer anymore...but forget who the humanity needs learn from their pain.She have the power of iluminate people,but sometimes this is "too much light" and turns into inconcience,and that is the thing who happen with the hanyous of Gensokyo...they are in the middle,"no real no fantastic" and turn into a hipnotic state,and forget all their past when are in her spell.

Dislikes:the lies.

and,in my fever of gijinkas (humanized things),i take this two eyed Gensokyo "charas" (YuugenMagan,Evil eye Sigma) and now is my crack pairing...

In the imageboard,i was one time a Hanyou,and ambulant artist a bit excentric who can manipulate the colors of things,animals and people in 10 meters to 50 meters (i call her Heiwa Iroku, XD)
can "change" in all the meaning of the word; the colors (red to green of any object for example) and opinions, even sexual preference,because in old japanese, "same gender" is called sometimes "same color". (this auto-chara continuosly use that last power for her fetish XD)
obviously,is like myself but my hair and my eyes change with my own preference.sometimes is straight and sometimes...not.

Well, it happens. I'm still thinking about the new ability of my other OCs, after Nue showed up with her Manipulation of Appearance.

So let's see. All my OCs is from my very first game idea. The plot was something like a gap opened to an other Gensokyo what was drifted out from existence because it has been forgotten. This Gensokyo was actually the Dreamworld of CtC, but while at the end of CtC, a new Gensokyo was created, it wasn't the recollection of the old one, but a completely new one. Or something like that.
And the residents of this world were the "Forgottens". They are like the Nobodies of someone from Kingdom Hearts.
The game would have featured Satsuki Rin as a Boss, and Meimu as the Final Boss. And several OCs.

Name: Sifil Icebrand
Ability: Manipulation of Memory
Occupation: None
Species: Forgotten Youkai
Stage: Stage 1
Danmaku: Mainly Based around ice, wind, and chilly weather
Location: Near the Gap.
Personality: DEPRESSED nature. Always laments on the fun memories she had while she was still a normal being.
Likes: Ice and chilly weather. This may suggest some connection to her original self.
Dislikes: People in general, and those who are having fun.
Appearance: Light blue hair, with a ponytail. Wears a light blue robe with hood. Her face resembles Cirno's.

The Haru Sisters
Name: Haru Yayoi and Haru Uzuki
Ability: Making Plants Sprout (Yayoi), Power of the Spring Sun (Uzuki)
Occupation: The Gods of Spring. Just like the Aki sisters, just at Spring. They're always together, as both of the powers are needed to bring spring. Even thought they always travel with Lily, they're mostly invisible to everybody. They are actually the "power" of Lily.
Species: Gods
Stage: Stage 2
Danmaku: Yayoi plants seeds, then Uzuki shoots with a laser. When the laser touches a seed, it blooms, creating a flower pattern.
Location: Behind Lily White.
Personality: Yayoi: Boke, Uzuki: Tsukkomi
Appearance: Uhh, Yayoi: pinkish hair, Uzuki: white hair, umm some simple frilly clothes with flowers on it I guess... I'm bad at this.
Miscellanous: They're much more better than the Aki Sisters in Manzai. There are rumors of a third sister, called Haru Satsuki.

Name: Shiori Kinokoyama
Title: Matango of Lunacy
Ability: Manipulation of Fungi
Occupation: Ruler of the Mushroom Youkai
Species: Youkai (Mushroom)
Stage: Final Boss

Danmaku: Based around Mushrooms obviously. Although some come in the form of spore clouds.
Spell cards:
- Agaric Sign "Ruinous Breath of Wonderspore"
- Psychadelic "Brain Shaking Boletus King"
- Amantia Sign "Pantherina's Talon"
- Mycelium "Roots to the Destroying Angel"

Relationship: Alice Margatroid
(In GBC:Victim)

Location: Beneath the Forest of Magic
Personality: Formely a cheerful youkai that loved her fellow mushroom youkai as if they were her own kin, but later drove herself mad when she tested her powers and accidentially manipulated herself. Now she's nothing more than a roving lunatic that torments the mushroom youkai and does wierd and down right nasty things to them.

Likes: 'Manipulating' things, Rape, Tearing things apart, Vulgar language
Dislikes: People who get in the way of the above things.
Appearance: Long, wavy fushia hair, wears a poofy hat that's similar to Toyohime's (mushroom like aint it), wears a white shirt and a long blue dress.

History: Shiori was the final boss of the first episode to Gensokyo Battle Chronicles (a text adventure I started long ago, it's still in UGW last I checked). In the game it was revealed that Shiori was the one who ordered the mushroom youkai to head to the surface and plant strange mushroomrs that induce temporary lunacy. The mushrooms obeyed Shiori not because the liked the idea but beacuse they could not defy her wills. Being Shiori has the power to manipulate fungi, she can make any and all mushroom youkai do exactly as she says even if they are unwilling to do it.

Later it was discovered that Shiori had kidnapped Alice and brought to her where she would try to infuse her with a giant mushroom that would in turn cause all of the strange mushrooms she had planted to unleash spores. These spores, when inhale, destroy brain cells and cause the victim to lose their mind. Shiori was later stopped and killed by Karasa, Cirno, Reimu and Marisa after learning that she not only tried to doom Gensokyo to complete chaos but also raped, tortured, and murdered dozens of innocent mushroom youkai.
It was hinted in game that she also raped Alice numerous times before her death.

Appearance: (Notes on below image: Her eyes are always closed, because they usually induce a strange horror in people and friends, but her right(?) eye is deep cobalt with sword-like rays of sapphire, and her left(?) is candle-flame with what appears to be paint-splatters of neon orange. Also, he 'ears' are actually a part of her hood, that when pulled down bears a resemblance to small faerie's wings. Her coat is specially made to contain and direct her violent eruptions, that normally shred and vaporize any other fabrics and garments into oblivion, but even this coat is showing signs of deterioration. Her natural expression appears melancholic, but even when happy, she still seems to have something tragic on her mind.

History: When she was little, she used to live with Remilia and Flandre Scarlet, where they lived a generally carefree life. Phoebe used her blood to keep Remi sustained, and Remi would take some to Flandre, who was still in the basement. Patchouli and Phoebe used to play games with Sakuya in the Voile Library. Then one day, something (undecided) happened, and Phoebe decided to leave Gensokyo. With Reimu beng the one that maintained the border, Phoebe sought out the miko, who had a slightly less-known service of passing over those who wished to leave Gensokyo. Reimu would prepare a ward to place over the exit point and re-strengthen the weakened area, then remove the memories of anything to do with the one passing over from all Gensokyo residents, followed by wiping the memory of the one passing over. Once someone has passed over, it was as though that person never existed. However, Phoebe had accidentally come across the Mercatia Border Enchuridion with a group of friends, and they were all transported into Gensokyo. Phoebe has no memory of ever having been here, but as she spends time in Gensokyo, her memory returns in bits and pieces. Patchouli also experiences flash memory return.

Hiro isn't very outspoken and usually doesn't say much when in a crowd, however, whenever he does talk, he usually has a tendency to say only one word which seems to sum up to an entire sentence. Strange. The again, he's a god of words so...

Appearance: Short dark green hair, eyes are of an eerie shade of grey. Has a rather bland attire for a god, to which he dons a simple green robe and pants.

Relationships: Aya Shameimaru (Fellow wind manipulator/Rival), Youmu Konpaku (Sparring Buddy), Hieda no Akyuu (Interested in the long history of her original form), Kogasa Tatara (Friend)
Location: No certain location

Personality: Carefree and somewhat of a loud person, though easy to anger. She becomes oddly unresponsive and depressed when asked about certain aspects of her past (which prevents Akyuu from obtaining much information about her). Loves to fight, and has a somewhat distorted sense of justice. Also quite lazy unless it comes to fighting. Usually easy to get along with despite her temper. Is an extreme light-weight when it comes to alcohol, and the fumes alone are enough to knock her out for hours. Respects anyone who wields a sword with considerable skill.

Most Powerful Spell Card: [Typhoon Sign- Wrath of Fujin-sama] (Referring to the Mongol Horde's attempted invasions of Japan).

Likes: Fighting, green tea, wind chimes, wandering.

Appearance: Medium length orange-ish hair, blood-red eyes, and is around 6 feet tall. Her attire consists of a bland brown shirt with an olive green skirt with a black spiral pattern that goes around the entire skirt. Says "the skirt makes it easier to maneuver in".

History: Said to have been obtained by the hero Susano after slaying Yamata-no-Orochi, Kusanagi was presented to the Goddess Amaterasu after the battle. Susano had named her "Ama-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi". She obtained a conscience a century after Susano's victory. She never reverted to her youkai form, and decided to sleep for most of the time while occasionally viewing the events around her. After many centuries, she was given as a gift to a man named Takeru Yamato. During a battle, Takeru discovered that Kusanagi could manipulate the wind, and thus triumphed over his would-be assailants using this new power. Due to this, he gave Kusanagi her current name which "I like because it's a hell of a lot easier to remember" she is quoted as having said to Youmu on an occasion. After this, Kusanagi tends to become extremely uncomfortable due to a chain reaction of traumatic events, and the details are extremely hazy. All that can be ascertained is that she somehow found her way to Gensokyo during the early 21st century, and hasn't been seen in her sword form since entering, as she is more comfortable in her youkai form. Since her arrival, she has managed to start a bitter rivalry with Aya Shameimaru, and has become friends with some of Gensokyo's inhabitants.

Tried my best at including some of the legend of the sword's origins in there.

Since I'm making a post anyway, time for PoSR character FUN FACTS!
LEI LEI:
- She was once a powerful vampire, but in an attempt to grow her influence, she wanted to build up an immunity to vampire weaknesses. So, she lingered outside during sunsets and sunrises, and ate garlicky dishes with fine silverware every day. It worked, and these things no longer harm her, but she lost most of her power as a result. She's quite proud of it, regardless, and considers herself the most powerful vampire because of it. This is ironic because what she actually did was partially cure her vampirism. If she keeps living this way, she will eventually become just an ordinary low-level demon.
- She believes her power is at its strongest when the sun sets. This is actually false, as she was simply experiencing the feeling of relief of the sun setting (she does not acknowledge that the sun still weakens her somewhat), and mistook it as a surge of power. However, due to the placebo effect, she is at her most dangerous at this time of day.
- She's much like Kramer in that one episode of Seinfeld, believing that since she can be active at both day and night she doesn't need to sleep. However, she winds up taking naps and falling asleep at random times of the day.
GINNY:
- In line with other fairies, her fairy name is Bright Berry. However, when she introduced herself to Stella, she mistakenly believed it was her last name, calling her "Miss Brightberry". When Stella later asked what her first name was, Bright Berry was confused since she didn't have any other names, and thought she was missing a first name. So, she had Stella pick a name for her, and she now goes by the full name "Ginny Brightberry". Fairies are stupid.
- All fairies embody some aspect of nature or emotion of some sort; Ginny embodies the competitive spirit, and given the nature of Gensokyo, this is the source of her nigh infinite energy.
- Ginny trains diligently, longing to attain the title of "strongest". Though in her dialogue she seems to allude to having been beaten by Cirno, the one who actually beat her was Lily White. Ginny does not know Cirno exists.
STELLA:
- Like Alice, Stella was a human who became a youkai magician. Unlike Alice, Stella abandoned her humanity entirely, and she avoids humans unless they also practice magic. Stella detests society and lives among fairies and other uncivilized youkai.
- She is claustrophobic and doesn't like being indoors with no windows.
- Stella does not have access to many magical books, so she practices the raw theory of magic. If you were to put it in D&D terms, you might say Stella is a Sorceror, compared to the other magicians being Wizards.
- Her ability is the ability to "clear the night sky". Unlike most other abilities, this one is very specific in its application but also quite immutable. Her use of it usually just means you can always see the stars near her; but it could, for example, push Suika in mist form out of the air, close a huge gap opened by Yukari in the sky, or remove Eirin's fake moon if it was blocking the stars. Of course, what happens after she angers the owners of those obstructions is another story.
EDNA:
- Edna died in a game of Wine In Front Of Me, attempting to solve a dispute with her sister over the family inheritance. Being a sore loser, she haunted her sister and drove her to madness, and drove the family to ruin. Afterwards, she took everything she could and retired to Gensokyo.
- She likes to put cyanide in her tea because she likes the bitter almond taste. If Edna offers you tea, don't drink it.
- Her ultimate plan is to gain control of Hakugyokurou, and flood Gensokyo with the spirits of the deceased, and she is currently laying out an enormous Xanatos Roulette to this end. However, as it entails dealing with Yuyuko, Youmu, Yukari, Sikieiki, Reimu etc etc this may take a while. Yuyuko is aware of her intentions but has not acted yet, and is probably planning some ridiculous counter herself, given her personality.

Danmaku: Speed and Sword-based. Her weapons are several light swords (aka object lasers).

Personality: SERIOUS nature. Very serious and loyal to her 'Mistress'. Shows no emotion.
Appearance: Long, blonde hair. Her cloth is something very conventional to fast movement and swordfight (aka, I didn't thought much about it.)
Miscellanous: She is CtC Marisa's Forgotten Form. In the game, her 'Mistress' would have been the 'creator' of the Dreamworld, the dream Reimu (aka 'White Reimu'), who became formless, but using the three "Forgotten Sister's" power, she gained form and became Meimu. She would have been the Final Boss.
The heroine would have faced Erion in stage 4 first, disguised herself as Marisa.
Also, Stage 6 would have featured Satsuki Rin as boss, and she would have been a Forgotten too. But she's not loyal to Meimu. The Final Stage would had been the 7th stage.

More later, as the story would have continued to the Extra stages. Aka two more characters.

Straight hair that goes down to shoulders, black, but at the bottom tipped orange. Bright blue eyes. Very naive, not very powerful, medium height, likes to sleep and relax. Wears a cream/yellow colored, long sleeved dress, big black boots, and a pink, winter/woolly hat, also has small, black bird-like wings on back with orange tipped feathers. Usually quite kind, and a very touchy-feely person/Youkai (likes to hug and kiss people a lot). Often rather dopey, saying obvious things.

Spell cards are, Odd Sign: Blue Apples, Odd Sign: Red Water.
Final Word: Unusual Sign: Unflyable Bird.

She likes to sit outside the Hakurei Shrine and have picnics with other small Youkai and faeries.

Personality: While a sane human, free of her vampire side, she's a really strong, yet shy girl, who doesn't usually speak up for herself. She suffers a bit from an inferiority complex and in her world she was bullied way too many times to the point of even torture. She's bad at making friends and she has trouble talking to people, but she really has good intentions and an incredibly caring personality for others. Is unaware of her vampire side though, as she can't recall it.

Likes: Winter, video games, manga, computers. Has a big interest in murder mysteries as well, but often assumes the supernatural

Dislikes: Being bullied, and large crowds. But is incredibly squeamish and dreads the sight of anything resembling blood, such as red paint. This is not solely because she is squeamish though, but because she fears the lust that builds up inside her before she loses control.

Appearance: Very Light blue, silver, long hair, red eyes, medium height, a developed, yet incredibly fragile-looking body. She often looks very nervous, or as if her eyes had no emotion. This is only half true, for to handle the bullying she went through for years, she has to temporarily destroy her emotions and stare blankly into space, as she takes the abuse as a sadist's very own sadism doll.

Species: Half-Human/Half-Youkai
Stage: Phantasm or Stage 1
Danmaku: Using Fairy Shikigamis
Location: Could be everywhere, but his home is near the Human Village
Personality: Weird, Calm and Loner nature. He likes to wander around because he likes the beautiful scenery. He's quite introvert and a loner, but he's friendly to people when asked. He's still very weak in magical powers, and because he's a Man, he's not that good in danmaku. He also writes a diary about his travellings, and the people and places he meet. Also very interested in the Moriya Shrine, but not for the same reason like his sister.
Appearance: Semi-Long Black hair, black eyes. Wears a strange robe, what is a mix between a Japanese onmyodo robe and a modern Western jacket.
Story: He was a normal guy in Europe when he noticed how everything what is happening around him is coincidental. Then he met with Yukari, who was coincidentally was travelling outside the barrier that day. She taught him some shikigami magic because of a random whim (read: coincidence), and let him to Gensokyo. In that game he caused the incident with Yukari. Coincidentally. "Coincident" has a weird rhythm with "accident", by the way.

Personality: Timid and Loner nature. More, more stronger than her brother in magic and danmaku, she is a magic prodigy. She's very shy, and is a Shrinking Violet, but can be friendly. However, due to her ability and her species, people don't want to invite her into their house, because most of the time, it collapses when she leaves one. This also applies to her house too on bad days. Has a snake, called "Nagi", and very interested in that snake goddess at the shrine on the mountain, and in Mishaguji-sama. Also thought, to be very unfortunate, but that's maybe because of her species.
Appearance: Long, Black hair, like Kaguya's. Wears a weird dark purple hat with an evilish grinning face on it, what also has two tails what are constantly on fire. Her cloth is a mix between a western witch's cloth and an eastern robe; she also wears those sleeve things like Reimu and Sanae. This strange, weird mixture of western and eastern cloth symbolizes how she's from the west, but eastern in the heart (same with Solais). Also her cloth is dark purple and red colored, with weird western magic circle-patterns on it.
Story: Since birth she saw supernatural beings, and also knew Eastern magic. Not realizing this, she learned western magic and witchcraft. After her brother gone to Gensokyo, he came back only to bring her with him too.

Location: Usually strolling around the hakurei border, on either side of it. When yukari is back, which she rarely is with all the new spare time, he hangs around the human villiage and the SDM.

History: A human forcefully turned youkai for the good of gensyoko. Yukari could not help maintain the border on shopping trips to the outside world, so she kidnapped a human on one of her outings to put him in charge when she left, allowing her much more free time.

Appearance: Young american male, quite pale, in the mornings looks like hell. Brown hair styled something like rinnosuke's. Wears casual western style clothing, carriers a large white umbrella with a green pinwheel-looking pattern atop, which is actually a golf umbrella from walmart, and often wears a black fedora with a black/silver checkered tieband. Dresses mostly the same, but in a dress shirt and black cape for occasions, which really pisses off wriggle.

Extra abilities: Although he could grant himself any power by altering boundaries, he practices magic in a similiar fashion to marisa, but without need for mushrooms. Specializing in subtle arts, such as hexes, blessings, curses, and protective spells. These skills are often used to alter events around him for entertainment. Tenshi and marisa accuse him of cramping their style.

If she is forced into combat, she does not hold back, drawing power from the images of the dead with reckless abandon. While not completely all there, she has an uncanny knack of grasping a situation exactly as it is the first time she sees it. This makes her easy to deal with, although sometimes her power of perception leads her to see things others don't want her to. She is friendly, but her appearance either deters offended benign visitors or attracts ill-intentioned males.

Story:
She is not a normal human or youkai in the strictest sense, but rather an amalgamation of the resentment of the extinct, manifesting in the form of a young, conscientious girl named Daruma. As a collective form of things that no longer exist, she has knowledge about all genocides and all extinct species of animals, as well as ideas, thoughts and beliefs that no longer have anyone to carry them on. Every time something ceases to exist, a name is added to her scroll. Sometimes those names disappear. Sometimes the living world is able to bring the dead back to life (never mind whether or not they are able to make it relevant afterwards), but most of that ink stays etched for all eternity.

Appearance: Drawing on page 3. She wears nothing but the scroll, which wraps and folds around her.

Well, it is character from another world. One like modern society.
It delves away from the Touhou formula on purpose because of the fact it is a crossover from my own creations. Besides. I never illustrated one of her more sinister forms anyways. Either way, if this wasn't a Touhou forum, the character would have no relation to Touhou or Gensokyo whatsoever.

Story:
Lucy Brown is, to say the least, not a normal entity by any means. A shuriken left behind in a box for the majority of her existance, she came into her existance as a tsukumogami wanting to change, to actually become human. But rather than do something weird like eat a human (>_>) she decided the way to go about it was to live and act like one. So she thought of a name for herself -- or rather, stole it from a comic book that was thrown in the box a good several decades after she was -- and then went about and made as if she was in fact a human. People who pass by her cabin tend not to notice she's not human, in fact, unless they are already familiar with youkai (which, in fact, means that the truth is that ninety percent of everyone knows she's a slightly-mental tsukumogami, hence why she seldom gets actual visitors that aren't horribly lost).

She currently lives a decent life tending to a tomato garden and pointing out to people who stumble their way into Gensokyo the direction to the human village, occasionally stopping by the human village to sell shuriken in order to buy food and gardening supplies.

Appearance: A simple white blouse with some artistically-placed stitches (to cover up the fact that there was some actual patching-up to do on the thing), a dark-grey pleated skirt with a sort of sawblade-ish look to it (that is, instead of "\/\/\/\/" it is in fact "\|\|\|\|", because of an unusual cut by the designer), a cord around her neck with her shuriken she was born from resting on it (a stereotypical little thing, a simple four-points-and-hole-in-the-middle deal), and a slightly dinged-up-looking straw hat. No footwear. Occasionally found wearing slightly-oversized gardening gloves with a purple floral pattern stitched onto them (obviously found this way before, during, or just after gardening).

History: When she was little, she used to live with Remilia and Flandre Scarlet, where they lived a generally carefree life. Phoebe used her blood to keep Remi sustained, and Remi would take some to Flandre, who was still in the basement. Patchouli and Phoebe used to play games with Sakuya in the Voile Library. Then one day, something (undecided) happened, and Phoebe decided to leave Gensokyo. With Reimu beng the one that maintained the border, Phoebe sought out the miko, who had a slightly less-known service of passing over those who wished to leave Gensokyo. Reimu would prepare a ward to place over the exit point and re-strengthen the weakened area, then remove the memories of anything to do with the one passing over from all Gensokyo residents, followed by wiping the memory of the one passing over. Once someone has passed over, it was as though that person never existed. However, Phoebe had accidentally come across the Mercatia Border Enchuridion with a group of friends, and they were all transported into Gensokyo. Phoebe has no memory of ever having been here, but as she spends time in Gensokyo, her memory returns in bits and pieces. Patchouli also experiences flash memory return.

Arg! My Phoebe. Ally! Did you seriously remember all of this? I'm pretty sure I don't have any of this information typed up anywhere. And spellcards! Interesting. However, that last spellcard sounds like it could be taken the wrong way. As in, the most painful period ever. :V

EDIT: What a strange choice for Phoebe's theme.... but I like it! It fits too well.

When she does leave the village, she sometimes plays with the youkai that she comes across, though if she meets any youkai or humans that wish fight ( either physically or with bullets) she'll agree, awarding them by increasing the beauty of their home's surroundings, while in her human form, she usually stays around the human village, doing shopping ,visiting friends, gardening, or visiting Kourindou. Her ability's origin is unknown to her, she just believes that it was a gift that was given to her by Gensokyo's Gods, a Gift that she is Greatfull for and intends to use.

Goddess of Small Hitbox

A neophyte goddess, Kobako is still fairly insecure in her station. Perhaps it is because shooting games are such frail things (http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Imperishable_Night:_Last_Word_Spell_Cards#Spell_Card_222), or perhaps she's just incompetent. Like many other minor goddesses such as the Aki sisters, she can be found on Youkai Mountain. She is easily recognized by her long black dress covered in tiny iridescent pearls, like so many little danmaku bullets. She's also one of the the few inhabitants of Gensokyo to wear high-heeled shoes, which only make her clumsier than she is to start with. She also wears a white blouse with short, poofy sleeves and a pair of red hair ribbons, which keep her short black hair in Chun Li style dual buns.

Kobako has the power to make projectiles pass harmlessly through their target. Besides bestowing this favor on worthy individuals engaged in youkai extermination, she also uses it to pass through walls--she throws herself at the wall, thus turning herself into a projectile of a sort, then uses her power on the wall. When she attacks--which is not uncommon, as she's overly emotional and easily agitated--she uses completely randomized barrages of tiny bullets of random colors.

Kobako is known to be inordinately fond of Reimu for some strange reason, despite Reimu barely knowing she exists. She has an equally inexplicable grudge against Letty. She also hates curved lasers; "Light shouldn't bend like that!" she says. She has offered to serve Suwako as her subordinate and is hoping that the Moriya Shrine will hold lots more "danmaku festivals" in the future...

He seems to be the only blacksmith in the underground Dwarf village, and makes a living selling fine quality weapons and tools to Satori and the fairies who work for her. Little is known about Gensokyo's Dwarfs, and only a handful of females have been spotted. Satori may know more about them, but even she considers them to be of little importance.

Yeah, that's Hikouki. Made a few changes to what I said he looks like.
That thing around his neck holds part of his power - without it he's sort of weak and can't breathe life into things. However, he rarely wears it. It's sort of like Marisa's Mini-hakkero, Syou's Pagoda, and Alice's Book.

Description: There was once an Oni in Makai, who enjoyed hearing the melodies of the ones suffering. Because of their sins committed and while hearing their apologies for it, she absorbs them into her mind and decided to create spellcards of each particular sin. In her own words, each sin was a different melody to her.

She also has commited every sin, which is not a bad thing for an oni. Sloth, for her laziness in Makai. Envy, because she heard of how humans lived enjoyably and became jealous. Greed, because she wanted everything she can't have. Lust, for her uncontrolled obsession over the beautiful and horrid-sounding melodies. Pride, because she thinks everyone is lowly. Gluttony, for her never-ending taking of everything others owned. Wrath, for her devastating anger if nothing gets her way.

She came out of Makai to Gensokyo sneakily because of her interest and got bored of where she was. She met a human male and began to take interest in him, revealing his potential while he was studying hard for magic. The human, thinking of her as a friend, was hated by the human village and left with her. They then resided at a small abandoned shack in the Forest of Magic while she taught him what she learned in Makai.

One day, a light fairy knocked into her making her unconcious.(Because it was a light fairy and an oni of course being from a world of darkness). The light fairy went inside her, thus causing her thoughts to be even more devastating. This is because of the chain reaction of light energy and dark energy. She asked for assistance from her only companion, to protect her while she was conducting her plot. He agreed willingly.

Annoying sounds were being created, and the human village could not bear it. Humans were unable to concentrate on work, unable to sleep, and even unable to continue their lives like before. Youkai started getting angry and went on a rampage.

The shrine maiden could not bear this as well in the end. So she set out to stop whatever was causing it. Others however, think they could solve it quicker or do better(hint hint: Marisa and other characters...hey as many as you like!).

In the end, the shrine maiden journeyed into the Forest of Magic, running into Senritsu's friend, who vowed to not let the shrine maiden go any further. The shrine maiden defeated him. As she continued, he attacked again with the remainder of his power but failed. She found the culprit on the edge of the forest of magic.

Senritsu: "♪..."
Player: "?"
Senritsu: "Do you hear that melody?"
Senritsu: "It's the melody of your funeral..."

The character battles and defeats Senritsu. However, she was not alone as the culprit came out. The light fairy, disappointed with the use of Senritsu and her prank, releases all of her power and Senritsu's to try to finish the shrine maiden off. The shrine maiden prevails and sorts the incident...for now.

There is one task that must be done...

There was a man in the human village whose gambling skills and swindling was extraordinary to everyone; Because of this, most people refuse to challenge him or make him take back his bets. While he knew his gambling was good and being convinced he could not lose, he decided to learn magic by taking old books and trying to teach himself.

Time passed and he learned some...but it was only childsplay. Flicker of a flame and tiny movement in the wind was all he can do. One day he wandered in the forest to look for ingredients rumored to improve his skills. He came across a peculiar shadow, nothing he has seen before. As he got closer to look, he stood in shock, realizing an oni was in front of him.

The oni grinned and decided to ask the human to escort her to the human village to destroy. She knew there was a barrier blocking her path. The man refused and intended to finish the oni off to prevent her from destroying yet. Only smoke came from his hands...the oni laughed loudly that even the crows flew out of the forest. Thinking that the human village was pathetic enough as it is, she aborted her plans...for now.

Before the oni parted, a request was made from the man. He told him his story of gambling and learning magic in the human village. The oni, who was bored with nothing more to do currently, decided to strike a deal. In exchange for giving him power and teachings of the magic she learned in Makai, he will be her servant.

He knew it would be a risk...yet he agreed. Days passed as the oni lived in a small shack in the Forest of Magic and the man came to visit her for training. After training he stayed with her for a while, having interesting conversations and laughter.

"Humans...interesting they are...it's rare to see one who is not an idiot."

With the human village having their own events of Youkai invading, he thought that comment seemed different than other ones heard. It seemed like...they become friends.

One day after leaving the shack and entering the village, everyone was in an uproar on how he met the oni and they thought he was working with her. They even say he was becoming a demon himself. Useless to talk them out of what they were thinking, he was banished from living in the human village.

That was the only gamble and risk Hakushi lost so far.

Hakushi lived with the oni and had more magic training with her. With his gambling skills and magic, he used his chance and luck to improve his skills. Betting more power to use even more power.

God's Judgment "Humbling of Pride and Power"
This spellcard starts to become more difficult. Lasers work their way up from the bottom of the screen and back down again (you have to get in-between them, but not on top of them, and quickly), while the walls of bullets come in from either side to force horizontal movement. It's a survival card, as well, with the speed of both increasing as time goes on. All the power in the world won't help you beat it.
God's Judgement "Taming of Wrath and Lust"
Youmu's bane. Having spent years training to fight her in revenge for Yuyuko's (permanent) death, Wrath is definitely her strongest vice. This spellcard fires in Shikieki's familiar laser pattern - one beam down the middle, four that trap the enemy in - and walls of bullets come down from the top of the screen at high speed, requiring fast movement while constrained - much like VoWG. Shiaku's most painful spellcard.

Two of Shikieki's signature laser formations, both auto-targting you. The goal of the card is simple. Avoid getting shot by one, and then while confined by its' lasers, avoid getting shot by the other. Rinse and repeat. While they might catch you off guard, it's not that difficult of a spell since it's highly predictable and contains no extra obstacles.

However, it does last for a long time, and will punish you for letting down your guard. Bombs, also, are highly useless against this spell.

A weak youkai made completely of cloth that flutters through the air looking for careless fliers to enwrap, attacking them by unwinding her body and lashing out with strips of cloth.
No matter how much she unwraps her body, her hands are always visible.

A much loved children?s book, which has been owned and used with much love by a family down in the human village. After several generations, it gained a small spirit which wished to look after children. The book was until recently in the possession of a husband and wife of the family whose mischievous child had moved on, it sat on bookshelf with no purpose for years.

After several pages from a book of magic, which was stored on the same bookshelf, were ?accidentally? glued into the book, the spirit of the book has manifested fully and seeks children to protect and read to. However she has a dark side, scaring children to teach them caution.

Danmaku: High-speed, low-spread bullets and ramming attacks

Darkness Moon Break "Wake Up"
His first attack, and a fairly easy one. Due to Yami's chains that restrict his power, this 'attack' is simply a weaponization of the releasing of these restraints. It's simply a few fast shots that go in one direction and leave only a small trail of bullets behind.
Wolf Sign "Garuru of the Red Moon"
Similar in appearance to Laevateinn, Yami attacks with a long laser 'blade'. However, his is not quite as big, and mainly attacks in stabbing motions which require him to rush towards that side of the screen. When he strikes that side, several high density bullet spreads come out. (Think the shots fired by Scarlet Shoot.) Difficult due to both the speed of the danmaku, as well as his never sitting still.
Liquid Sign "Bassha of the Blood Moon"
Yami fires smaller versions of the large bullet types used in Remilia and Koakuma's attacks everywhere, them bouncing off the walls endlessly. This is a spell that starts out easy, but gets insane the longer it drags on. Timing it out is massively difficult.
Thunder Sign "Dogga of the Shining Moon"
Position Reversal. Stay near the top of the screen in the beginning of this spell, where he dashes to the bottom, sending out a wave of bullets that quickly annilates anyone at the bottom screen, before firing a few more waves that head upward. Once you've dodged those, he will head back up to the top of the screen, and repeat. A simple pattern with practice, but if you let your guard down for a moment or are surprised by his dashes from the front to back of the screen, you're not likely to capture it in combination with how your bullets won't be hitting him when he's in the front and you're in the back.
Madness Sign: "Dogibaki of Earth and Moon"
A combination attack. This spell is nightmare-worthy. He starts off with the standard Dogga crash forward attack, but when he fires off any given wave, one of the Bassha bullets that bounce around forever will be in it. When he returns to the top of the screen, he swings the Garuru sword, as well, on one side, forcing you to dodge on the other one or die. When he reaches the top, Yami smashes the sword into the top of the screen, causing a Garuru attack wave. While simple in theory, it's the wildly bouncing Bassha bullets that, when combined with this attack, make it a highly fearsome move.

Emperor Moon Break "Wake Up"
Darkness Moon Break on steroids. His fast shots will turn and target you the moment they hit a wall the first time, causing high speed insane dodging from the first few seconds.
Madness Sign "Garuru Fever"
Not your friend. The laser blade he makes this time is larger, and in addition to stabbing at walls, he occasionally makes a sweeping movement that requires you to circle him to avoid... this is while you are dodging the bullets created from his latest stab, too.
Madness Sign "Bassha Fever"
In addition to the painful ever-growing number of bullets bouncing about, he now adds firing lasers into the mix just to make it even more cruel.
Madness Sign "Ixa Fever"
Charges you. Period. There's no bullets to be worrying about this time. Just a high velocity boss incoming. The only way to get damage in without bombing is to trick him into a vertical charge, and even then there's only a split second to hit him and get out of the way. Not too difficult, but hard to capture due to him rarely being in firing range of your bullets.
Madness Sign "Dogibaki Fever"

My Japanese may be crappy on the profiles because I used Babelfish and Jeffrey's Online Japanese-English Dictionary. I won't bombard you folks with huge posts about the characters because I intend to make a small website for the story once I finish all of the bios and spellcards. Gawds, it really is hard to make up themed spellcards. I have a whole new respect for ZUN in that department. >_<;

For those who notice things well, I don't have a Stage 1 boss. That's because I'm using Parsee as the boss, and Kogasa as the heroine instead of Reimu or Marisa (for in-story reasons). IFoA takes place in the underworld, but in a different location from the Ancient Palace or Ancient City.
