Neat buildup.

I think the piano is too bright and overpowering though, with a bit too much release and resonance. Boost cutoff.
Same for the synth sawtooth leads that come in later. But the end pianos are great.

And I think I heard a GFW Cymbal here - are you a Groove Agent user?

It took me a couple of days to find out how to make this GFW cymbal, using a few sounds and effects. And no, I don't use Groove Agent. Look at the opening post before asking, people! I use music maker 15 x.x
it's basically a clap sound with long decay and cutoff.

I intended to make those piano sharp. it's a techno thing. might be too dominant but... they're supposed to be dominant so yeah. without that, the rest would overpower the melody, which is not enjoyable.

noticed that most of the song is an intro? XD it fits the title, at least... as the opener of a bigger work.

Yeah, that's common in that and similar genres. Perhaps my complaint arose from my tendency to prefer balancing all bits, or the headphones I was using when listening (Sennheiser HD205).

They are admittedly pricey, I'll give you that, and reliability depends on type and target market (consumer stuff is almost never reliable). But when it comes to music production, I find speakers just unwieldly, and a good high-fidelity set of headphones (not the 'premium consumer' ones such as Bose or Beats by Dre which just give the illusion of said fidelity at an overkill price) essential for effective work.

Then again, however, it does make sense to hear it from multiple setups.

Finally made a new song~ it's an original this time.

Short general-audience edition:
Well-made! Parts go in and out very well; most of the suggestions don't go to the song structure itself but more the instruments.

Long critique edition:
...definitely like the beginning. Great buildup once again.

I think the background piano could use a few effects as I think it stands out too much. Perhaps reduce the cutoff, maybe even change the sample to a warmer piano?

Bright melody piano has a great tone, on the other hand - maybe a tad less release. I think the drums and bass parts could be a bit louder.

Transition part at 2:50 or so is well-done!

Flute sample...I think the frequencies can be a bit too high for some at times. Cue a hard frequency limiter in your compressor.

Polysynth + piano part at 4:10 or so...the two seem to run into each other too much, making the melody unclear. At about 4:36 or so it gets progressively worse. Have to rely on the drum parts (and the later synth lead) to keep progression.

The song is a tad reliant on the melody portions and I often find it overruns the harmony portions. Not too problematic considering the genre.

And come to think of it, taking my last critique on your songs and the resulting headphone/speaker discussion into account...well, that should be taken to consideration.
