I'm sorry, did you just say
Spoiler:
broken China
?

This first witness was not a callback I was expecting.

The prospect of there being an
Spoiler:

is actually fairly intriguing.  Going through the list of people who have been neither accused or culprit so far makes for fun metagaming, although my desperate personal wish is that in the end
Spoiler:
the true evil genius behind this series of events will be Winston Payne

I liked how with the first witness even Edgeworth comments that
Spoiler:
she'd been completely forgotten. Yes, a reminder of Game 1 Case 3, that's what we ALL needed. Come to think of it, we've had Regina and Ron, so all the terrible case 3's are covered. AAI really gets the B-list of cameos. :< Except for a few seconds! "No special people there!"
Also my money is on boy Gojira being the mastermind. He looks like he's wearing a red raincoat too!

I can't wait to see what bullshit excuse Edgeworth gets for investigating THIS time! Special request from Interpol? De Killer holding Furst hostage? Just investingatin' because we can? Maybe Edgeworth will investigate with Atticus which would be the closest to reasonable!

I liked
Spoiler:
PW1 Case 3.
Though I remember the game itself seemed set up to make this particular character less-than-memorable.

Spoiler:
Also, Regina and Ron were PW3 Case 2.  That game's Case 3 was... tough to get through, even if we got taught the "Imbec?l" song midway through.

Spoiler:
Alright, you got me on Ron, but Regina is Game 2 Case 3. I don't remember what Game 3 Case 3 was... no.. wait.. oh god it's coming back NOOOOOOO! Seriously though, there's only one 'memorable' character from Game 1 Case 3, and we hear more then enough from her. Unless you count the creepy leetzor who haunts my nightmares.

Spoiler:
Will Powers shows up often enough as well. Anyway, third cases are hit-or-miss. PW:AA's was great, JFA's was ridiculous (fine otherwise), T&T's was forgettable, AJ:AA's was great also. AAI's was on the forgettable side but not as bad as T&T's. This game's is kind of like JFA's.

Spoiler:
Eh, right, I thought you referring to Ron's wife.  I really didn't need to be reminded of Regina or the circus music.  I'm pretty sure no one in the circus cast wins any favorite points, Simeon included.

I liked Dee Vasquez.  Oldbag, on the other hand, was only good in the first game.

The only thing I feel a need to remember about AJ:AA's Case 3 was that I could use the mixer on Guilty Love.

de Killer is overjoyed to see Edgeworth.  :|

The last case of the first AAI game was so complicated I'm not sure I ever fully understood it.
This one is looking to be the same, although I appreciate the premise of all the villains trying to out-evil each other.

I actually have NO candidates in mind so kudos to you. <_<

I mean it'd be really annoying if it's a character that has yet to be introduced but I don't know what else is there.

Like, it's the one who hired De Killer, right? To assassinate the president? I don't think we know someone with such a motive unless I'm confusing the facts.

It's less a plot/character thing and more a process of elimination.

I'll detail my thoughts below.

Spoiler:
1) I am excluding all characters from previous works from suspicion as a matter of course.  This means Fran, Regina, Will, Lotta, etc.

Spoiler:
I am further excluding an "unknown third party", IE a character that has not introduced.  Because that would be really stupid at this juncture.

Spoiler:
For characters included in this game, I am excluding from suspicion:

Marcus, since he's a kid and Von Jure's son on top of that

Stalwart, due to the strong ties to both Gregory Edgeworth and Miles

Lang, because that would be incredibly stupid

Either of the Fursts, for obvious reasons

Von Jure, because it's impossible for her to mock Edgeworth over the phone while court is in session

Spoiler:
That leaves three people unaccounted for: Fang, Traill, and Harkens.  The former seems to be the most suspicious and did break out of jail recently.  Harkens is a little too convenient but I think she's too much of a comic relief character.  Plus she was right there when Edgeworth was talking to the villain.

Spoiler:
So my guesses are down to Fang and Traill.  Fang's obviously really evil and that doesn't need to be expounded upon here, but why Traill?  He seems innocuous enough until you realize that he's the only person with strong connections to Knight, who oddly appears to be one of the focal points of this entire case.  He's the bodyguard of the President (who just died), his murder is the focus of the court case going on, we just found a bunch of Knight memorabilia in the safe, etc.  Why is he such a big deal?  His childhood friend Traill probably knows why, and thus I think he - at a minimum - knows more than he's letting on.

I like the theory that Marcus Ward is actually Von Jure and the president's son. Considering he was assassinated I can see why she'd want to keep that on the down-low!
