Magic -- A century has passed since this concept has been recognized as a formal technology instead of the product of the occult or folklore.
The season is spring and it is time for a brand new school year.
At the National Magic University First Affiliate High School, A.K.A Magic High School, students are divided into two distinct groups according to their academic performances. The "Bloom," who demonstrate the highest grades and are enrolled in the "First Course," and the "Weed," who have a poor academic record and are enrolled in the "Second Course."
This spring, a very peculiar brother and sister enroll as new students.
The brother is an under achiever with some deficiencies and enrolls as a "Weed," while his younger sister is an honor student, who enrolls as a "Bloom."
The brother, with a somewhat philosophical expression, and the younger sister who holds feelings a little stronger than sibling love for him?
Ever since these two have entered through the gates of this prestigious school, the calm campus was beginning to change... (http://myanimelist.net/anime/20785/Mahouka_Koukou_no_Rettousei)
So, after episode 1 I am inclined to continue watching, this show is very interesting.
The way magic is associated, is unclear at this time but I am sure the show strives to explain it further.
The things that draw me to the show is the NON BETA MALE LEAD.
dear god he is cool.
I mean, I am enough with soft male leads who can't decide, he is decisive, deliberate to a certain degree, and I like his calculating prowess.
-
Sure is the season for sibling love!
-
I was like hey isn't the little sister voiced by ayase.
why must the VAs of every single of my fav characters make a comeback this season
daaaaaamn this is sweet

And Kyousuke is Tatsuya. This is now Oreimo: Ayase Route with Magic.
As someone who's slaved through the LNs, I want to see how faithfully they handle this while cutting down on all the explanations.

Watched the first episode a couple days ago...This is seeming like it's gonna be a fun one to follow.
Kind of makes me think of a more serious Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahou(or as it's known in English, 'Modern Magic Made Simple').
Really liking that male lead though, and I especially look forward to seeing this deranged class system getting turned on its head.
-
And thusly Oreimo: Ayase Route with Magic ep 2 is finished.
In all honestly the pacing seems a bit too relaxed, but the graphics kind of made up for it. imho a good story should expend all it has to suck the viewer in asap, kinda like Shingeki, or Kill la Kill, or even the more recent No Game No Life. To be fair though even the original story is a bit on the slow side, but this is not a problem because ohmygodddayasewhyareyousogorgerous.

Ok, two things - the ED theme, I felt goosebumps as I listened to Elisa sang it....
It is so beautiful.
Best ED song this season all seasons.
(Rising hope just reminds me of SAO season 1 lol)
No Game No Life just seems to be made of gaussian blur filters lol.
YES YES YES YES AYASE YES YES YES I actually love the Seiyuu lineup for this. there need to be a beach episode as soon as possible
-
don't really like the main character that much. he's okay i guess.
imouto best grill

Have any of you read the LNs?
Because, if you haven't...hoo boy, you are in for a....ride, to say the least. Yup. I'll leave it at that. This show will get...interesting.
-
just spill it, where can I read translations of it and if you have it we will talk. otherwise, don't spoil I guess. (actually do it, doesn't matter either way because some of us don't care)
-
ive read some of the light novels and i hope they do a cool job explaining some of the magic they use. reading paragraphs with lots made up words confuses me and its hard to keep track of
-
I watched the first two episodes with my brother again. We kept making jokes. I can't take these dumb incest anime very seriously.
I don't really like the main guy but I like the "antagonists" less.
-
but but but i am treating this as a continuation of oreimo......pretty seriously....

So, after watching Ep. 2 it seems we've gotten a glimpse into our male lead's power...This should get quiiiite interesting, methinks. Excited for next week when I can continue with it.

brother will gladly calibrate all your CADs for you mmmm
-
I see what you did thar.
That said what the fuck did he do with Kirihara? Did he just use his CAD to bounce back sonic waves that cause some kinda heart attack or some shit?
-
Batman's explanations are always in the next episode. :V
And Kyousuke is Tatsuya. This is now Oreimo: Ayase Route with Magic.
This is almost all of the glorious reason why I'm watching this show, as well as Kuroneko voicing Saegusa Mayumi as well.
-
more like he is more understated than Batman, he is literally MAGIC DAREDEVIL or some shit
-
screw this i am buying oriemo:tsuzuku and its like 500HKD here
i need moar ayase
EDIT:I see what you did thar.

Well from what I manage to salvage from the first watch it seems that magical energies can be perceived the same way as light and sound.
So the other guy metaphorically got overloaded with a bunch of light and sound that knocked him out flat. And cancelled his attack.
-
protag so op like kirito. show is pretty good so far though
-
I watched the first three episodes and I'm pleasantly surprised. I was a little worried when episode 1 went by and almost no other male characters were introduced, but it looks like the cast is actually somewhat balanced gender-wise; depends on how much screentime the other males get, of course. I can't say I'm a fan of the incestuous implications, but at least our lead is likeable. Then again, this is the exact type of character that larger female casts wind up swooning over in entirety, so I'm really hoping the Anime won't go that route.
As long as this doesn't turn into a one-man army show with all other characters being insignificant sidekicks or cheerleaders/potential love interests, I should be enjoying this greatly.

Ayase/Miyuki is not blood related, so it is ok to make babies. oh wait~
-
Ayase/Miyuki is not blood related, so it is ok to make babies. oh wait~
As long as her offspring does not inherit the lack of personality that she has displayed so far, she can have all the babies she wants.
-
There is much for you to learn, young Jedi.
in anime, the power of personality is next to NO, it is okay, I will take two of those and a loli.
-
things are getting a bit boring. the show has pretty much went in an endless vortex of main protags trumping everything/one
-
Second arc begins with a snoozefest, I am sorry to say the show has ended on a high note from episode 6 - 8, so why the snoozefest now I wonder...
