Headcanon Powers of PC-98 Characters or Characters With No Canon Powers.

I felt like sharing some silly headcanons of mine regarding the powers/abilities of characters (Mostly from the PC-98 era) that have no specific powers stated.
Please note, that these are HEADCANONS, and therefore will likely NOT agree with your views. If you are not okay with this then by all means ignore this thread.


Rengeteki - Ability to partially phase objects out of reality. It does not work on large objects, or people (without disastrous consequences).
Kikuri - Manipulation of Light, essentially the opposite of Rumia's power. She can also consume light. The bronze disc she is trapped in suppresses most of her abilities, but not to the same extent as Rumia's amulet.
Demon Mirror Midboss - Ability to reflect and amplify the darkness in people's hearts.
Angel Mirror Midboss - Ability to reflect and amplify the purity in people's hearts.
Meira - Has no abilities of her own, but her sword can eat darkness and then she can tap into that stored power to create danmaku with her sword.
SinGyoku - Manipulation of balance and harmony.
YuugenMagan - Manipulation of energy.
Konngara - Doesn't have an ability. She's just a badass.
Layla Prismriver - Ability to command any instrument with a conductor's baton. The same baton can also control the poltergeists, but she almost never used it on them before she passed on.
Rin Satsuki - Can heal any injury by playing her erhu. Requires that the patient can actually hear the music.

Lord Tenma
Unlimited Gun Works, basically like in the MUGEN,
with addition, ability to summon storm

Myouren Hijiri
now a humanoid ghost like yuyuko,
martial arts & spectral magic, also plenty of BADASSery

Layla Prismriver
also a ghost like Myouren,
she has ability to suggest a command to spirit & ghost.
able to conjure spectral music intrument which can be possesed by or fused with ghost & spirit under her command to play them.

Rin Satsuki
ability to create flame that wont burn anything but will deflect any "harmful intention", the flame has no heat & inextinguishable by natural mean
own a magical erhu which has the power to enhance regenerative capabilities, activated by playing it
also have antler flute that can control the direction of a wind & flower plant behaviour

Unsou
ability to manipulate the instinct or impulse of unintelligent aquatic creature

Tokiko
ability to induce slugginess through reflection of eye contact such as mirror or water surface

Marisa's father
ability to prevent object from becoming tsukumogami or gaining spiritual power

Akyuu's black cat
ability to see people remaining lifespan

Koakuma
ability to know the general direction of an already touched book

Daiyousei
ability to grow bigger & powerful for around 6 hour by drinking 2 litre of milk, with side effect of diarrhea

Tupai
ability to store any amount of alcoholic liquid

Actually, Daiyousei has a canon power. Believe it or not.

She can teleport. She does it in her midboss battle in EoSD.

Elly has telekinetic control over floor tiles and panels.  Yes, floors tiles and panels, ONLY.  She throws them around when you fight her, so why not?

Her actual power are actually really just converting floor tiles into subordinates.

Rin Satsuki: Ability to remove oneself from any situation.

Do they work similar to Koishi? Or as in went just poof totally?

Shinki - ability to create miniature worlds. She can create larger worlds, like Makai, but they are unstable without outside help.
Sariel - directs the dead to the afterlife. Basically Makai's equivalent of an enma, since there isn't (I assume) one in place.
YuugenMagan - can control any familiar-type creature, regardless of its power and temperament. Also a generally powerful magician.
Louise - able to blend into any crowd. Allows her to seamlessly integrate with humans even if she sometimes acts more like a youkai.
Koakuma - as Patchouli's familiar, she can learn her master's magics much faster than any regular student.
Rikako - has an innate understanding of technology, on the level of a kappa.
Kongala - regardless of whether she's an oni, she has the supernatural strength of one. Can channel hellish energy through her weapons.

With a body seemingly made of electricity, I simply expect her to have electric powers.

Actually, I think I've seen other fairies teleport in a similar way as well.

I imagine Rika can probably reverse engineer anything she chooses or modify anything mechanical to suit her liking. I would also assume if computers ever became a thing in Gensokyo, she'd be the most world renown hacker.
