How do you spread Touhou?

As with the title of this topic, just wanna ask how you brainwash your 'Subjects' with Touhou.

By the way, it's really hard for me to spread Touhou since most part of where I schooled (Btw, school is a hunting ground if talking about 'spreading' something), there are too little numbers who even know what Anime is, but not Touhou. For now, only me and two of my best friends are Touhou-fans in that school, with them two being mediocre while me being a hardcore. But I AM sure whether there's somebody hiding in the Rumia's shadow out there.

Some theoretically possible ways:
Making Touhou references all the time and let them take interest.
(For girls) Draw Chibi Touhou characters and make them fall for my 'trap'.
Or sell bookmarks of Touhou characters, drawn by my uncle. lol
(For those who play games as their daily lives) Give 'em a try of Lunatic mode PAWAH!
(For Bookworms) Tell them a story related to Touhou's timeline history. If they're carving for more, direct them to the Touhou Wiki.
(For someone who likes musics) Give 'em a taste of ZUN's albums and OST collections!

The best possible subject however is someone who thinks, watch, hear, and tell crazy and science-defying stuff 24/7. And my two best friends (now me), are some of those peoples with such brains. An example of what crazy stuff I think is the moon, the crescent moon, has a crescent-shaped smile that has another crescent moon within that crescent smile that smiles a crescent in which another crescent moon inside the crescent smile which had a crescent-shaped smile that has a brightly-coloured crescent moon that smiles a crescent with crescent teeth sticking out of it's crescent lips.

At my school, while we have quite a large number of anime fans, but Touhou is a really tiny minority. Consisting of me, and another friend that I introduced it to, but she isn't too interested in it. I made two Aya T-shirts in art last week (I might show pics later), but no one really asked about them.

Music probably. My only attempt to spead touhou failed but the person at least admitted that the series has great music. He was put off by touhou actually having plot. I didn't know how to deal with the situation from there.

Fighting games. Although my goal has never been to get anyone into Touhou. Frankly I don't want them touching my stuff. :V But I do want them to have some frame of reference for what my hobby is, at least.

The fighting games (specifically Hisoutensoku, the other ones can be a little hard to swallow) have been very well received by anyone who already likes fighting games. And I've played PofV with quite a few of those people too.

And for the record, everyone I've ever introduced to Touhou was already aware of it on some level from either memetic videos or hentai. I've had to explain to a few people that no, it is not a porn franchise.

I spread it on a specific roleplaying forum I go on where characters have a slot of 'theme music'.; and you can put themes for various situations too.

Touhou and remixes of Touhou appear there frequently.

Not my intention; just I found some remixes that fit the character pretty well. And Touhou is not my only thing.

Also whenever I roleplay or write I draw inspiration from multiple things; including Touhou.

Usually by getting them interested in nicer illustrations of characters, then pulling the whole "oh if you want to know more about this character, i have a good doujin to show you" (sfw of course).

Granted the people i catch with this have usually already heard of it. Just havent found reason to get into touhou.

And of course there is roping people into cosplay groups... that usually works as well

Well it kinda depends on which doujin you do end up reccomending. I usually wind up showing them gag doujins which are quite independant of base plot (bomber grape, pageratta and warugaki), then escalating once they pick up sufficient interest in understanding more of the characters. Must shows on my list are gensoukoumuten, joyful, morinohon and kameleon (still sore about this guy)

Ah, those popular Touhou doujin 4Koma's, seems like a good start for introducing Touhou I must say. Normalizing Gensokyo residents to the first-timers makes them acceptable to the person's brain, before  all the memes, danks and Danmaku engulf his 'innocent' brain, KUAHAHAHAU... . Though Danbooru is a risky place for those who are still 'Pure'. Nah, nowhere is safe for the 'Pure' people in the Internet. 'Cause Junko ain't helpin' us for now.

Actually given the size of my community, i think our group of friends is surprisingly large. Most of them just like touhou but a few of them actually produce print works. There is also a significant group who have dabbled in cosplay, although I can safely say I'm the most invested in that avenue among them haha.

Step 3: wait until rainy day
Step 4: put pictures inside the folded umbrellas
Step 5: put umbrellas in a container by the external doors of your chosen building
Step 6: people take umbrellas, open them as they step outside, Kogasa pictures rain down onto them
Step 7: satisfied by a job well done, no-focus dodge the rain until it expires

Step 7 is easy modo in Australia, but step 3 takes ages, so it all balances out in the end

I am currently in the process of getting my brother and best friend into Touhou.  My friend is a pretty open-minded person and he watched me play through EoSD and Hisoutensoku once.  I would often drop some tips and trivia about the gameplay and characters in the process to which he showed interest.

My brother on the other hand is a lot more close-minded and pessimistic so converting him has been difficult.  I do however see some progression when it comes to him as well.  As I am more of a character oriented person, I plan to get him more into the characters first before proceeding to the story.  Still, he promised me a long time ago that he would at least try the Touhou games if I tried Fire Emblem and he still has yet to (which is quite surprising, considering how hellbent he is on good morals).

Honestly, all I had to do to brainwash about 4 people was get into our Orchestra chamber during our lunch break and pull up IN, then after several weeks PoFV. I'm pretty sure PoFV did the trick. And we were playing with GC controllers, not keyboards.

Close-minded persons are a problematic when it comes to spreading Touhou. I'm just lucky enough people who I'd fail to make them interested to Touhou doesn't mock Touhou.

I`m not the kind of person to try and force people Touhou, but if they see me watching or playing Touhou and it ticks their interest i`m glad to explain.
I just don`t feel like going and seeing Touhou-related stuff in public, i feel uncomfortable whenether i draw attention due to Shyness.

The brainwash and stuff are just jokes man. But I know how you feel, because I remember I was accused being the source after somebody was caught reading a Touhou hentai at school. I'm just too glad the discipline teacher doesn't give a **** about sources/causes, only the perpetrator. But this incident ain't gonna stop me to be a Touhou-fan.

Generally speaking, music is the easiest way to introduce someone to it without actually delving into the games and lore and such. That and the prodigious amount of hentai.
