Rachel - Yukari OR Remilia (parasol, servants galore, Astral Finish matches Scarlet Devil, but parasol is used commonly in combat similar to Yukari)
Tager - Shinki ('red devil', incredibly powerful)
Taokaka - Chen (what's to say?)
Litchi - China Meiling (dat body, oriental theme, martial arts galore)
Arakune - Medicine? (what can compare to that thing?)
Bang - Marisa (LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS, yet INCREDIBLY AWESOME)

When at school, the teacher says to type a quick 300 word report on a game because for some reason we had nothing to do, nobody took it seriously and started playing games and mucking around. I however ended up with a 495 word report on you-know-what and was practising to beat Mokou by the middle of the lesson.
Note: That's 10 minutes on the report and 25 minutes tweaking the report to be 495 words :V

The program in question is a "guess that word" game, and because using the names of Touhou characters wouldn't make much sense to the people grading it, I instead used words that could be associated with them (i.e. laser for Marisa, fusion for Utsuho). The teachers likely wouldn't make the connection with this either, but hey, only I need to know about it. :V

Funny you mention that. I vaguely considered trying to make a Touhou-like game in python for my final project. Still debating it, but I probably won't go with that since I need to write it in 2 weeks, and even a simple version of Touhou seems like it'd be difficult...
It's not specifically Touhou, but it often occurs with it for me. When I find a good looking picture, I will either feed said picture into iqdb to find its source, or save it in a folder to find its source later. Once I find the source, I proceed to peruse the rest of the artist's work and save any pictures that I like. As a result, I've amassed over 3,000 Touhou related pictures...

Not sure if this counts, but I saw someone last week who I swear almost looked like ZUN at the mall I frequent (more like float around in for over 40 minutes >.>;). He even had the same had and shirt, except it was more like a golden yellow. I kinda waved it off until I noticed that Touhou 13's theme, with all the cemetery decor and given the mall I go to was the one that was used to film zombie movies like "Night of the Living Dead", it got me thinking again...
Although it's probably one of those things where a lot of meaningless things seemed to line up to look like something, still kinda fun entertaining the thought. :)

I had just heard about it before I had to catch my ride to work today. My pessimist mentality made me assume that Jun'ya Ota was dead until I came back a few minutes ago to hear that he's apparently okay except for having to delay 10D's.
I was heavily worried about it until noon, honestly expecting quite a few "In Memory Of" images, tribute videos, and a Touhou hater or two chanting something like "Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye" online when I came back home.

I'm pretty sure it's just the calendar itself, not the actual timeline. They use a lunar calendar, IIRC, which is based on the moon's revolutions rather than the Earth's orbit around the sun.

No no, it's not the autocomplete, it's a macro. My browser is set up to convert the string "w <query>" into "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/<query>". It does so because I went into the settings and told it to, not just because I happen to use it a lot. Same for Google (g), Dictionary.com (d), and TouhouWiki (t). Quite the exclusive group.
Interestingly, my autocomplete on w produces "www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/". Even though this place's been on my speed dial for at least a year. I suppose this is due to how rarely I ever actually type out more than two letters of a url nowadays. I'm starving it. But I'm also getting off topic.

Lately, every so often or so, I'd either have a Touhou related dream or a Touhou cameo. In my last name, Mokou and Keine appeared in the dream I was having. Though I cannot remember what the whole dream itself was about. Before that, I had a dream that Reimu and Marisa were sleeping together in my bed.

Hmm, haven't played the game enough to unlock this "Lance" guy, but I was aware that Matt shoots a giant sword. It's just that it kinda looks like a laser to me. With a big bright thing sticking out in front of him, it made me think of a miniature short-range Master Spark xD.
That isn't his bomb though. That's his secondary attack. For the real bomb you need to press C. The secondary attack does indeed have Master Spark-vibes though.

I also see you're using the older romanization standard (not the 2000 one defined by the South Korean government, where it would be "dong myeon"). I find it easier to transliterate this way, but that doesn't mean that our language is any easier to romanize XD

I was watching the latest episode of WWE SmackDown earlier and for about the 7th time watched the promo for Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio for the vacated World Heavyweight Championship in a Ladder Match at Extreme Rules this Sunday. There's quite a bit of talk about destiny (mostly from Del Rio saying winning the WHC is his) you've probably heard a million times before. One of the lines in the promo was "But fate works in mysterious ways," referring to Christian becoming the other #1 Contender for the title replacing the former champion Edge (his friend since childhood whose forced retirement vacated the title) in the aforementioned match. I would've shrugged this off, as it's pretty common stuff.
Then the promo refers to Christian by his nickname Captain Charisma, and the next thought in my head is Remilia using the Killswitch (Christian's finisher) on someone in Touhou Tag Dream. I couldn't help but chuckle a bit, especially since I usually picture her Spearing someone for obvious reasons.

Started training with the new software at my job today. We were being taught how to process loan applications and were told to make up some applications to test how familiar we were with the system.
My bank now has an application from Miss Reimu Hakurei, for home shrine improvements, as well as a joint application from Miss Marisa Kirisame and Miss Alice Margatroid for a vacation.

That is because that character is literally inspired directly by Marisa. There are other touhou references in LoL as well. For instance, the items "Wriggle's Lantern" and "Youmu's Ghostblade".

Danbooru, and also Safebooru, are ok because, as you said, most pictures there are great. Gelbooru and a few other ones really have EVERY picture...

Well... I'm one of those people who see official Touhou-related things as reality. That's the reason why I don't like such pictures - maybe the characters don't want to be shown like that? I'm not against any type of art because everyone has a different taste regarding art. But as I said, most likely they don't want to be shown like that and that's why I'm against such Touhou pictures/similiar things.
Well, to say something on topic:
During the last week I only slept approximately 20 hours, which means I was awake for ~148 hours. In more then 120 hours of that time I spent my time on Touhou-related things :V

Oh dear, school idiocy is at it again? Well it IS high school, so I'm not surprised in the slightest bit.
Oddly gagged a bit while watching a LA Noire LP when Cole (main character) went "Is that so?" to another LAPD detective about some statement. On another note, that game does look fun, but given Rockstar's rather bad PC track record I'm sceptical this game will get a PC release at all. :(

That being said, after the finals in that class (which took life 6 minutes and everyone got 100% on it), she let us set up a 360 to the projector and play CoD:BO. But while people played and snacked I had my laptop and was showing off intense danmaku skills~
Before you say anything about the final test in an AP class taking 6 minutes, it's because all of us took the actual AP test beforehand (which is basically the final test to the sixth power) and giving us another test would be... unnecessary.

...really not surprising. Both Touhou and Arc's series (going by Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and Arcana Heart 3) have flashy graphics and kickass music, for one. Gameplay's hella different though (always wanted to Roman Cancel / Rapid a deathbomb....).

When my school dived into the Minecraft bandwagon, people always went to me because they wanted my heavily modded version, I gave it to about five people and it spread like a plague. A few months in and some people are still playing it, claiming that they got their own 'fresh' versions and so forth, however I still knew they were using the one I gave them. How did I know? I edited the splash to say "Girls are mining..."
And if that didn't convince me, the first loading screen was Marisa sparking the 'MOJANG' logo, TNT blocks were bomb [ B ] blocks, the health bar consisted of [ P ] blocks, all food items were point squares, Utsuho was holding the sun up, Reisen was on the moon, the bow was a hakkero, the arrows were stars and every painting consisted of Mystical Chain sprites :3
These people were immersing themselves in Touhou and were none the wiser :P

StepMania is my worst one for that; before you know it, arrows are scrolling up your mind. Danmaku is one thing, but arrows are just... AH!
Back on topic...
You go through the entire contacts list on your phone to assign each of them a character they represent and assign them their respective Message Tone (Touhou Track) and Ring Tone (Touhou Mix).
And finding ways of tapping Touhou beats to normal songs; especially when watching someone play Guitar Hero.

You're probably going too far with it when it's raining ever so lightly and as you walk outside in this lovely, fresh weather, barely wet, as if it wasn't raining at all, you think to yourself: "drizzle - magical damage is increased".
I am not even making this up, that's actually what I randomly thought while walking to the train station in the city just ~40km southwest of here. The thought occured to me so randomly, it made me giggle. Most people would say that I am carefree because of that unexpected giggling, but I am not.
(Soon, the drizzle became slightly heavier and developed into a full-fledged rain. My mind decided to recall the effect that rain had in Rhapsody/UNL Soku, but it wasn't able to. Its efforts made me giggle again anyway, though. I am really not that carefree.
I covered my mouth both times to pretend I'm yawning, so perhaps the people did not think that. Unlike ZUN, who's afraid that people would think he is weird, I do openly tell people that, I just tend not to show this. It no good; the psychiatric hospital isn't all that cool, methinks.)
Also, not really Touhou-related, but I assume it could qualify if TH is your main source of contact with the Japanese culture: you know you are becoming sliiiiiiiightly messed up when your English has a tendency to devolve into Engrish. I mean, you write things and you subconsciously replace "l"s with "r"s and sometimes in reverse. Guess it happens when you ponder the fact that Cirno is really pronounced sth like Chiruno by the Japanese (or if Rumia was really meant to be Lumia, with the possible reference to luminescence, which is, uhh... something scientific about light) one too many times.
Not fake either. It's happened to me more than three times already. Also saw one of the fellow residents of this nice forum incorrectly use an "l" instead of an "r" in an English word for no reason. Looks real enough to me.

I, uh, I'm not English either and you can obviously see that, beneath the coating of many lavish, obnoxiously pretentious, verbose sentences hide many ordinary mistakes.. This really wasn't meant to laugh at other people's mistakes or anything.
But you know, losing the distinction between the "l" and "r" sounds is a very distinctly Japanese (well, Asian) kind of an error. And now it is happening to me as well and I'm fairly sure it's because of overdosing on Touhou.
I would like to genuinely apologize if anyone felt offended by my previous post. It was not meant to hurt anyone's feelings. I'm not a monster, I just lack empathy a little... at times.
EDIT: by the way, you know what? It is said that the Japanese are extremely polite. I wonder if it's true, but if it is, then...

Eh... Both Cirno (Chillno) and Rumia (Lumia) have names that directly reference their abilities. Sarcastically, in Rumia's case.

Well, depends on ethnicities, for one. Japanese seem to really frown hard on other Easterners, particularly Koreans (who almost equally sour the Japanese and Chinese).
The region itself is very homogeneous (moreso Japan and Korea than China, but you get my point), so differences are extremely obvious. However, it has the side effect of partly being xenophobia.
And as for possible "anger" notes, well, it's not a problem! Not trying to vent against you or anything here, just answering a few questions.

I'm working over the top of a texture pack called 'DokuCraft' (Casting anti-plagiarism barrier) which bumps the resolution up enough for me to effectively use UNL/SWR sprites instead of Mystical Chain ones! I'll try attaching the finished product when it's... Finished...
