I think he means that the shadows are too dark. Try to make the shadows lighter and add a third color shade in between the light and dark colors so it doesn't look like half of her is shrouded in darkness

Thanks! But I think only a few are worth putting into galleries. If someone requests one I'll accept, but otherwise I'm hesitant to put in my own work.

The head looks nice, and so does the soft shading of the hair - but then the body looks really disproportionate to the head. The hands (especially her left hand) looks kind of weird, and I can't tell what they're doing.
The head feels out of place because you drew the face of a ~teen on the body of a ~loli.

Thinking it'll help, I took the liberty to stretch and skew your pic just a little bit to illustrate what I mean by what I said:

For a school project, we had to make trees, so I tried to make the Saigyou Ayakashi (half dead and wintery, half alive and spring-y)
I wish I could've put butterflies and ghosts/made the background dark and dramatic so it would look more Touhou, but now I have to write stuff about branches of government (pun unfortunately intended) all over it, and I'm going to be graded on how easy it is to read... Byakuren dangit education.

I don't quite like the lack of contrast between the two sides when it's supposed to be more dramatic, either, but I tried my best.

Last time I'll ever use Vellum as a substitute for watercolor paper

I guess I can say this is a rough version of something I'll paint up at a later date. This one started to feel dull and plain, I was way too rough on the paper ( and I also kept smudging).

Well, its time to try that again :V

Alright, here's some of my cartoony vector stuff:

Utsuho charging her poorly drawn arm cannon.
Yukari having fun playing with her gaps...or escaping explosions, I'm not sure.
