This is a revival of the Concealed the Conclusion English Patch project for versions 2.00 to 2.01. The patch is currently on version 0.7214 as of 28 September 2013. Download link may be found at wherever my last post is.
All feedback is appreciated. Installation instructions and full changelog may be found in the readme.
I am currently looking for people willing to translate the remaining spell card and music comments for the next version. Translating The Alternative Age would be nice, as well.

Yes, I have found a way to replace the data in the TTH_*.dat files. The files were generated with this script; (http://pastebin.com/0uYacxcF) it requires a couple of files from the THCCL to run properly. I'll explain how it all works soon.

I completed my script for viewing the contents of the TTH_*.dat files, which can be found here. (http://pastebin.com/trAuvfDz) Depending on where your files are stored you may have to change some of the paths referenced (the same includes as before are required). Use left and right keys to scroll, hold Shift for a slower scroll speed, press C to advance files. This script should make it easier for transcribing any text necessary.
Using the script I have created a summary of what the IDs in each file represent. The first set (0-538) is common to all files. Asterisks mark those that would be retained in an English patch.

Since I just extracted the text items in the TTH_*.dat files into a text file using a script, I feel it's about the right time for that explanation on how these items are stored in Danmakufu.
Each of the TTH_*.dat files is saved common data that contains one three-dimensional array called TEX_TEXT_CACHE, which is loaded into memory and then copied into the variable m_aCLTTCValue by LoadTTC().
The structure of the array m_aCLTTCValue is as follows: Each element of the array contains the data to produce one text item, in the form of a two-dimensional array. This array contains seven elements, each of which is an array that contains one element per character in the text item:
* File ID number. -1 is Font.png (for ASCII), while 0, 1 and 2 are for Shift-JIS.
* X-value of the top left corner of the character to be drawn
* Y-value of the top left corner of the character to be drawn
* Width of the character to be drawn
* Height of the character to be drawn
* Gap between this character and the next
* Vertical spacing
The drawing functions use these attributes to draw the text character by character.
As for the way I extracted the data from the common data file, detailed structure will probably come later.

I think that 580 would be how long you have played the game.
EDIT: ID 580 can have 2 possibilities: The time you have when facing (White) Reimu, or the amount of time you have played; the game records that.

Actually, I worked out where ID 580 was used a while ago. It appears if you reach Ending 1 for a brief moment after the screen fades to black.
While we wait for someone to translate the spell card comments and endings (all of which are now on Touhou Wiki), does anyone have the files from the previous patching effort (i.e. with the replaced dialogue)?

Prime 2.0 sent this to me awhile back, I think it has most of the translations done. I saw some grammatical errors in there though. He also said:
I still need to do some major cleanup there, particularly in Scenario A which has my earliest work, and extra/phantasm where I just put in a bunch of crap based on my own preference.

First release! Just in time for C82... though it is a little rushed.

EDIT: Was expecting a little more feedback than this. Come on, surely someone wants to complain about the badly line-broken stage descriptions, the spellcard names that are cut off, how the music title font size is now smaller than the original (for the English titles anyway), etc.
Expect a new version next week, maybe.

Now, onto the dirty stuff. I have noticed a lack of using CtC's text in the character dialogues. Also, I can fix Reimu and Marisa's dialogue in Stage 6 for you. I have already translated it properly. But otherwise, awesome! I can sees spellcards now.

Thank you! I wish I hadn't forgotten about it for several months though, this could have been released a lot earlier.

Re: CtC's character dialogues - the original used the inbuilt dialogue system. I see no reason to change it.
Re: Stage 6 - if you're referring to the translation of the last pair of lines, any suggestions would be appreciated - just remember that it needs to fit in 39 characters each. If you're referring to another issue (I didn't test this, remember?), please give more details.
Also, Version 0.329. Changelog:

Still untested, so any feedback will be appreciated. I'll make more significant changes later.
EDIT: Versions 0.32 and 0.329 have been recalled due to broken dialogues causing desyncs. Given that I guaranteed this yet didn't test it, surely someone should have checked? You people aren't very good testers. :V
I'll try to put through a fixed version as fast as possible.

0.333_interim (http://www.mediafire.com/?fzn64o4e10f5tyt) - rolls back a number of dialogues to Prime 2.0's version, some changes to the cached text. Guaranteed to sync with unpatched 2.01. This is just an interim release because it'll take me longer than expected to fix the dialogues. Feedback is appreciated.

Now that I've (hopefully) sorted that out, I'm putting out a call for any translators who are willing to work on this project. Currently there are well over 300 spell card comments to be translated, as well as almost all music comments and all three endings. Eventually I want to insert translations for all the Japanese in the game, including interface elements. Endings should be a priority right now.

That is strange, when I try to copy the Touhou Wikia's link, it becomes the touhouwiki link. Maybe you are not considering the wikia as a wiki, anyway change the "*" to "." and you'll see that there are two "wikis" :P

Re: the wiki, in November 2010 the Touhou Wiki officially moved off that one wiki farm. Clearly then, that wiki no longer exists and anyone who claims otherwise is in denial. :V
Re: The Alternative Age, if I can find a translator and someone who can identify the font used in the spell card and music names, I will be happy to put one through.

Anyway my question is, I think that the correct translation of 天符 「太陽凝視法」isn't 'Heaven Sign "Stare at the Sun"', but it is 'Heaven Sign "Sun Gazing Method"'. What do you think?

Well someone said that was translating the endings at the wiki, the last edit on the page (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Concealed_the_Conclusion/Story/Endings (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Concealed_the_Conclusion/Story/Endings)) was in " 29 August 2012, at 07:58" so it looks like he stopped the translation, I'll wait more for see if he wanna come back to action before I take a look at the endings because it's easier to translate than the spellcards description xP

Um, I'm not sure which ending I was supposed to be seeing (Normal, MarisaB), but instead of any sort of proper text the credits showed various text off the main menu ("Reset all data," that sort of thing). This is my first time using this patch so not sure if that's known and just not translated yet or a bug.
Also... that was a depressing story.

Alright, here are some things that I've noticed, that may or may not affect performance/accuracy?
Main Menu + Descriptions:
In Practice Description: Practise -> Practice
Easy, Normal and Lunatic Mode Descriptions: Text cut off?
Stage + Spell Practice: Text Cut off?

There also bug which the text on ending 3 for being untranslated for play 2 different routes but not surviving the Reimu's Last Word.
Condition for Ending 3 is
- survive Reimu's Last Word
- not survive but done 2 different Marisa routes
My trial was Marisa-A (die on Last Word) and Marisa-C (die on Last Word). Got Ending 3, but in Japanese instead. My CtC version is R2.00, not R2.01.
At least I survived it for 3rd time for Last Word - Thank you translator (Lukesky180) and script programmer (Arcorann). :D

About the Ending 3, the translation is being double-checked, so I'm not sure if Arcorann has implemented them yet. About the bugs, he should be getting back to you. Once again, welcome to this community. It's nice meeting you!

@brainkiller: What program are you using to extract the files? I think I know what the problem is though, and I'll put through a new version in a day or two which avoids the issue.
@Lukesky180: Noted. Will be fixed in the next version.
@Vendetta: As Lukesky180 said, I am waiting for the Ending 3 translation to be double-checked before inserting it into the patch, so you'll have to make do with Touhou Wiki's translation (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Concealed_the_Conclusion/Story/Endings) for now.

Owh, just give in to the wiki btw (although, no feels in the ending :( ).
Question 1 : What does not yet implemented in this translation yet? Whats the next progress?
Question 2:
I tried open script files with text editor (namely just notepad and CodeBlock) , what I get is millions of functions (already wreck my mind as computer science student).
Can I know how to edit those script with guidelines to do it? ???

Hi Acrorann, thanks for replying. I'm using WinRAR full edition to unzip them on WinXP SP3. And I find it weird that I'm the only one who gets this kind of error? I mean, nobody else seems to have any problems so far.
I should also mention that while the file, when downloaded, was 1.5mb, the files inside are all 0kb each, even before unzipping.

For sure that happens to me, a long long time ago. Alternatively, I am using 7zip if WinRAR fails on me again. :]
All the files inside is truely 0kb packed, but the size actually bigger when extracted..
Let us be sure that file you downloaded is really actual file. Look for CRC errors, if none, try MD5 checksum.
If MD5 checksum is match with original file, then your WinRAR or system have a problem actually.
Since you using WinXP, try to copy & paste carefully. Unlike WinVista & Win7 that have merge function, my WinXP experience with registry problem (actually, WinXP is perfect, just my comp problem) getting copy & paste nowhere.

- The translations not included in this version are Ending 3, the music comment translations, the spell card comment translations, and a few menu descriptions. Ending 3 is highest priority at the moment.
- The dialogue text is found in the files named by (Name)0.dnh and (Name)99.dnh. The text for everything else is cached in the TTH_*.dat files using Common Data, the functions for which can be found in \lib\THCCL\Font.dnh.

In reply to Vendetta, I know what you mean, but in my years of usage, there are only two reasons that could explain such a file problem:
1) I didn't download it properly (due to a random disconnection that I had no idea occured while afk, usually the case. a re-try would solve the problem)
2) The file itself is corrupted. Again, a retry usually solved the problem.
This case was kinda unique, I had retried it at least three times with no difference. Was about to try it on another computer when Acrorann uploaded his latest copy, so I didn't try. Thanks for the information too!
EDIT: Shoutout to all translators and script writers, thank you for a job well done!

Thanks for guidance for script. I think I have small clues to each function which I used to try in Danmafuku and its Wiki really help.
The problem arise when to find script file for Ending 3, Spell Card Commentary and Music Room Commentary (Cant help since it still in Japanese).
I also have problem to Common Data as well, what should I use to open it? :blush:

I posted a script (http://pastebin.com/trAuvfDz) on the first page which uses the functions from CtC to display the text to the screen. It's a bit rough but it should give you a general idea of how to access the data. There are more functions in libTHCCLFont.dnh that will be useful should you wish to understand how the data is encoded and stored.

Okay so how exactly do you get this patch to work? There's something about 1.00 and 2.00/2.01 and it not working with 1.00 or something? I can't find any clear instructions anywhere on how exactly to get 2.00/2.01. There are literally no instructions. I have "THC R 1.00" and I would like to use the English translation patch so that I can actually understand what's going on. Do I need to update to the latest version or something? If so, how do I? I've looked everywhere and haven't found any update patch. It would be very much appreciated if someone could clear my confusion here.

Hi again, I have problems extracting the txt file again. Do you mind changing compression method again, as I think the main problem here is that I'm still running winXP here?
By the way Sonae, you need the MANUAL folder, along with all the files inside, before you can update. If you run the patcher, it will be looking for this folder, or specifically, something inside. Illegal copies of the game usually do not have this folder, so it's more of a legit check than anything. If you see something about Marisa while running the update, you are fine.

What version of WinRAR are you using anyway? My understanding is that support for LZMA2 was added in 3.91, and that was years ago.
