Shrinemaiden Music Discussion
« on: June 24, 2009, 11:07:52 PM »
There was a thread similar to this one on the old forums, so I'm remaking it. Perhaps it'll be a bit more successful, since I've noticed a few other musicians posting their work.

---

This thread is for the use of any local musicians or those interested in trying it out, for discussion of sequencing, arrangement and synthesis techniques, software, hardware, and for organized critique of completed or work-in-progress arranges/remixes.

To start off with, here's a page of all the originals and arranges I have made since I picked up the hobby several years ago.

I made this a long time ago but thought I'd share it.

This is a synth rock arrange of the EoSD Stage 6 pre-boss theme (The Young Descendant of Tepes), which I named Bloody Descendant. It is composed of samples selected only from the Roland SC-88Pro sound module. It's quite short, but it is also one of the few arranges I am totally satisfied with.

Hey, quite nice!

The bass drum at the beginning adds a great feeling that I personally find interesting in most songs. And the main "theme" remains as hearable as in the original. Too short, but that's not really a problem.

And here's mine! Well, not really a remix nor an arrange, it is more likely to be a cover.

Lucky Star in Guitar

This is part of the Lucky Star OST, but I don't remember the exact name now... Ponno Pan something? Anyway, played with a Yamaha C-40 and recorded with a PC microphone.
Whoa, Sax, where did you get that beautiful signature?

That's also quite nice :D

I had assumed you were playing it on a keyboard, so I was totally baffled by the quality of the guitar sample, but then I looked it up and realized you were actually playing it on a guitar! Haha.

I'd recommend this.

As for your song, it's pretty neat - great percussion, but the lead saw synth could have stood to be a bit more stereo-dynamic, and some reverb/delay on it would have been nice.

I'll take these to my upcoming songs (remixing 'Septette For the Dead Princess')

and how much does that synthesizer cost? someone recommend me Korg ,but I see that Roland is greater, but to tell you something...I can't even play piano lolz~,but if I got one of these,I'll get the inspiration to!1 haha ;D

PS.sorry for bad English
