When you, after realizing that there IS in fact an object of your abject hatred existing in the world, rather than wanting to slaughter them in some mundane way realize that exercise of danmaku would be much more satisfying, if only it were possible.

Then t'would be a good idea to take extensive photographs so that perhaps the cake could be replicated.

Just a thought.

I'd been playing Persona 3 a while back, and in the after-battle card shuffle (which is child's play, I might add, for a shell game enthusiast like myself) I got High Pixie.

Those of you who've seen that Persona might recognize just what famous Fairy I was reminded of.

Do I detect a fan?

Either way, I never really got much use out of High Pixie. Now, Lilim on the other hand . . . *has 30+ Magic, all 4 attribute spells, main magical attacker* . . . Yeah. Only reason I shift her out is when I need a stronger version of any given spell (or someone who can use the spell on everybody, like with Black Frost or Fortuna).

But that's neither here nor there.

You know your addicted to touhou when.....

Your driving your vehicle and you try to graze the other cars

(or addicted to Burnout)
See the patterns, feel the patterns, become one with the patterns, avoid the patterns
In order to live through the patterns, you must understand the patterns for everything else there is MASTER SPARK.

You know you're addicted when you're putting away silverware and out of the blue you realize the clinking and clanking of it and the kitchen around you sounds like Luna Dial.

Also, when you have the extreme temptation to (as you begin to play Trickster for the first time) name your character after a Touhou character (e.g., Patchouli if you're the Sheep [she has the robes, and starting class is 'Librarian'], Reisen if you're the Bunny, or Ran or Chen if you're the Fox or Cat . . . they made it way too easy).*

*And no, no I didn't. But the temptation was there.

You know you're addicted to Touhou instead of Guilty Gear now when you see a movelist for Dizzy, and you look at "Gamma Ray," and imagine the Master Spark SFX instead of the Gamma Ray SFX.

And then you wonder how one might replace the Gamma Ray SFX in the PC version of GGXX#Reload with the Master Spark SFX ...

This makes me wonder if the Master Spark SFX could be used to replace the sound Shoop!Marx makes. You know, the move where Marx blinks red for a moment then Sparks over 50% of the screen in your direction (and Mirror is not immune to it). Which in turn reminds me of Master Spark whenever he does it.

And you know you're truly addicted to Touhou when rather than wonder how you can make Nova Nucleus more Touhouesque, you wonder if it can be scripted in danmakufu and still be fair (perhaps make an alternate escape for that one that has no opening in it?).

Prolly can't; SFX works differently in SNES games than in Touhou games.

Suguri has a character named Nanako. Which makes me think "So~Nanako~"

However, you know you're addicted to Touhou when you close your eyes after an Acceleration of Suguri run, and imagine Koishi as a Suguri character, zipping around and ingame ...

When I was playing through Rockman.EXE 4.5 today using Napalmman, I noticed he used "da ze" when speaking. I immediately thought of Marisa.

You know when you're addicted when, after reading this, instead of just seeing Marisa in Rockman.EXE/MMBN, you start thinking about her moveset, and then thinking about how very Spark-ish Forte's Darkness Overload is (even if its actual sprite is an oval that's made to LOOK like it's blowing past the edge of the screen) . . . and then imagining the Master Spark sound effect being chained to it, either in-game or in the movie (in which it looks very Spark-ish when it gets fired off).

And then wondering what Marisa's reaction to A) MMBNverse or B) Scuttlest virus family. Those who've played MMBN or MMBN3 will know why I wonder about the latter.

Yes, my mind likes to jump all across the board like this all the time. I only choose to write about it in such detail sporadically. (That said, Touhou/MMBN crossover could go either very, very gawdawfully or very, very spectacularly, depending on premise and how it's written.)

I have a feeling I should know what you're talking about, but it's been years since I played MMBN 3, and I don't feel like completing the god damn crane puzzle thing at the very end.

I do know that Marisa's chip folder would most likely comprise of powerful chips, and she uses them without care for strategy or skill.

I'll give you one hint: Why was the virus combination for the 2nd part of the Scuttlest Family so utterly aggrivating if you weren't fast enough? I mean, getting caught is the small part . . .

As for Marisa's folder, I can guarantee you it'd probably have Cannon chips, TankCan chips if it's post-BN5, and Cannonball most definitely. And that her NaviChip would HURT.

Reimu's, on the other hand, would be homing. Whether she's Target-type or not (or pre-BN4), it'll home. Definitely.

EDIT: This is starting to get me to seriously consider drafting folders for Touhou characters. Whether or not they'll be MMBN3 or MMBN5 (the two games I liked best) will depend on whether or not I can find a ROM to replace my missing Colonel cartridge. As it stands, White Version is hanging around somewhere in my house and I'm wondering if Cirno would be nearly as annoying as Bubbleman to fight in MMBN.

People in the Touhou Livestream knows now that I'm starting to accidently type out Touhou-related names instead of real names.

For example, most of them I wanted to say "Mario" I keep typing out "Marisa" instead.

I don't think I ever did the Virus Breeder subquest. Or if I did, I either don't remember, or my mind suppressed it to protect me from the traumatic memories.

Well, then, did you ever fight the white or black Scuttlest virus (the former of which being the actual Scuttlest)?

If so, you might already guess; if not:
Spoiler:
They attack with a linear beam. A very PAINFUL linear beam that fails to stop even after going off-screen.

Eirin's folder would be full of healing chips, I guess. Her Navi chip would healing + damage a la Roll.

This and a random memory of the Twins Virus just gave me a terrible, terrible idea for NetNavi!Kaguya-and-Mokou. Which would probably be an Ironic Hell for the latter. Anathe, you'd probably get it seeing as you're past the TV station, where they most prominently appear (in an off-to-the-side computer, but still).

Also:
For example, most of them I wanted to say "Mario" I keep typing out "Marisa" instead.

What do you type instead of "Luigi", then?

I dunno. I haven't typed out his name very often, but it'll most likely be Koishi if that's what you mean =/.
