I like how Charizard is not listed as a Newcomer despite never being a standalone.

Also Greninja confirmed for next Charizard-favoritism starter

Also Charizard X Final Smash? I wonder if alternate skins have Charizard Y, and Shiny versions of both?

I kinda wish Glory mode was FD + Battlefield instead of just FD. FD only means anyone with projectiles or a chain grab will run rampant.

Also people seem to think that Greninja means no Mewtwo. Except all the Pokemon confirmed so far had significant roles in XY (with mega evolutions) and Mewtwo did as well. If anything I think Jigglypuff's chances are reduced.

Except Pikachu.

But yeah I think no Jiggly. Jiggly isn't even in X/Y

I forget, have they announced all of the Original Twelve(tm) yet, excepting Jiggly?  If so, I'd figure she'd probably stay in.  If not, well...Anyone's guess.

Not sure if I wanna wait til I get a Wii U eventually or get the 3DS version.

No Ness, Falcon, or Jiggly yet of the original 12

Also none of these three have had any relevance of late...

I seriously doubt Ness, Falcon, or Jiggly will be dropped.  Despite lack of relevance, their movesets are pretty iconic.  ...unless Falcon's getting wrapped into Ganonderp?  But that neither of those two have been mentioned yet it seems likely we'll see Falcon again.  I hope.

I expect Lucas will be dropped and that custom movesets will enable his variants of moves on Ness.  Actually same with Wolf's versions for Fox (possibly Falco's too?) and Dr. Mario and hell maybe Marth will even get Roy's techniques optional.

also pong for best assist trophy I started laughing my ass off

Hmm

Although all stages are getting a flat FD mode, they don't all seem to be the same. Namely the lip of the stage seem to vary from version to version, which can mean a lot for characters with awkward recoveries.

Still can't get over "No Items Final Destination" being an actual mode

The lips are different, and it seems like the stage lengths vary slightly as well.  (In before fanatical pro scene starts picking apart the Final Destination stages and saying some of them need to be banned)

Really though a ton of amazing stuff announced. I am so hype. When they showed Smash Run my brother and I were like CITY TRIAL CITY TRIAL and then after a few minutes they outright said it's City Trial.

How could anyone NOT think City Trial when they saw the first few seconds of that segment if they'd played it before in Air Ride?  Seriously.

Charizard's cool and I like him better than the others Pokemon Trainer had, so there's a plus, and Greninja looks to be pretty fun.  Actually a lot of the characters do, to be honest.  Part of me really wants to play Mac just to land a K.O. Punch on somebody.

Based on how they emphasized Little Mac's terrible aerials and recovery, I think it's likely he'll be shafted, competitively speaking. You really can't explictly skew a character's balance like that and expect it to work well.

That's exactly what I though.  It won't affect me in the slightest since I don't care at all about competitiveness, but he still looks like he'll be fun to play.

I dunno about that. Olimar's recovery was garbage but because his pikmin were so annoying to deal with on the ground he was pretty high up in the tiers.

Mac looks similar. He looks like he has incredible ground control with his crazy speed, power, super armor, and OHKO potential. Poor aerials means he won't be jumping, but he has so much ground mobility it won't matter. Like how Jigglypuff had poor ground mobility but her air mobility more than made up for it.

As awesome as CITY TRIAL is, I also really like the idea of that Dark Samus assist being a thing.
...I dunno who else shares my thoughts, but the Prime series was among my favorites of Metroid. Also, Fusion comes right after, but that's unrelated to Dark Samus.

And all the Kid Icarus stuff wow

Snake had pretty mediocre aerial game and really strong ground play, though admittedly he actually does have a aerial game.

I also don't see Rock Smash on Charizard. What do I do now.

Actually the Alternate Move thing has me pretty hyped, although I think a lot of people that are being hoped for as returning characters will be shafted by it.  Like, when Ness gets announced, I expected we'll see a mixture of his and Lucas' moves as default - and then the other variants of them available as variant moves.  I'm also expecting some Roy-style moves on Marth, for instance; there'll likely be some variants of Lucario's moves based on Mewtwo; Dr. Mario moves for Mario, etc.

That's my hope anyway.
Also Megaman's Final Smash is all kinds of glorious.
It was shown like seven hours ago now and there are still aftershocks of it going on among my friends

So Brawl had a total of 35 characters. 37 if you count Shiek/ZZS, especially since they're separate now. (39 if you count the three pokemon of PT although you had to play as all three and Squirtle/Ivysaur are pretty much gone now).

SSB4 has 29 confirmed character so far. The old characters that haven't been confirmed yet are: Wario, Ganondorf, Ice Climbers, ROB, OPKnight, Falco, Wolf, Captain Falcon, Jiggs, Ike, Ness, Lucas, Game and Watch, and Snake, for a total of 14 more potential characters. However I think Kojima said Snake wouldn't be in Smash 4 (although he is kind of a troll).

Hard to say about the others, but I think it's rather unlikely anyone else would go because Smash4's models aren't really that much different than Brawl's. From Melee to Brawl all the models had to be completely redone, but every returning character in Smash4 pretty much looks similar to how they did in Brawl so it's likely they reused the old models and did some retouching, retexturing, and updating to HD. Or at least used them as a base to remake them on. In any case they likely didn't have to start from scratch which would make it a lot easier for them to bring mostly everyone back. Hell they might even bring Ivysaur and Squirtle back as separate chars and just have a ridiculous amount of Pokemon.

So assuming everyone comes back (aside from Snake, Squirtle, and Ivy), that would put the roster at 42. Also right now there are 6 announced newcomers. And each smash bros iteration has added 14-16 new characters so assuming there are around 10 more unannounced newcomers, that would put the total at around 52.

Why do they say that relevance matters much when it comes to new characters in SSB? Pit wasn't relevent for years before Brawl came out, yet there he was. :/
