Oil/Steel/Ammo are 3 every 3 minutes, Bauxite is 1 every 3 minutes. Are you doing the fifth expedition for oil every hour and a half?

Complete the quest for the second fleet and expeditions, then unlock each expedition. The wiki links have the info on what you get for each expedition as well as the required ships/levels.

The hardest part is just being there when the lottery is going, and I doubt that'll be as much of a problem for you as it was for me

Anyone know what I 'should' be doing with destroyers? I have a fleet full of those (plus Kamikita Kai) and a fleet of aircraft carriers and heavies, and the latter has been destroying everything up to 2-1 or so while the former can barely stand its ground in 1-3; am I doing something wrong here or is there genuinely not much use for them (outside of vs subs which I've yet to encounter).

On the plus side: I got a battleship and two more aircraft carriers this morning!

On the minus side: Oh god, battleships and full aircraft carriers are so expensive to repair. Something like 260 steel to repair Akagi from near-death. ;_; I may need to stop building stuff and start stocking it up to spend on the ships I've already got. This fleet of 1 battleship, 2 full aircraft carriers, 2 light aircraft carriers and 1 heavy cruiser is going to eat up steel like nobody's business.

Sapz you lucky bastard ;_; Ever since I randomly crafted Hiryuu I've been getting nothing but cruisers and light ACs :< On the other hand I've been quite a whole lot luckier with equipment crafting though, even managed to get a Quad Torpedo and a triple 15.5cm gun from it \o/  Though holy crap you manage to run 4 ACs and NOT constantly run out of bauxite?

I've been modernizing my ships for extra anti-air and stuffing Tone full of air superiority fighters. Seems to work decently, usually shoot down like one whole enemy AC's worth of bombers per fight if the animations tell the truth. Though that doesn't stop the random stray crit on Akagi or Mogami costing me a bucket D:

On that note why does Hiryuu seem to be constantly ignored by the enemy? It's kind of rare to see her get targeted more than once per sortie :V

#1: Create a ship in the Factory (see The Main Screen, below, for help finding this and other locations in the game): Simply use the default amount of resources to create a ship. Don't waste resources as at the tutorial level you cannot create anything powerful.

That doesn't tell me which thing to click.  One of them could say "Sink all my ships" for all I know!

Oh wait, now I get it... I thought the building spots were different items you made, but you're just limited to building two things at once.  The wiki just meant not to try for one of the higher-cost recipes right off the get-go.

But yeah, once you get into it, it's easy enough.  It's nice to see how developed the Wiki's becoming; they're starting to add quotes and notes for the girls.
I'm really enjoying how leisurely this game can be played...  I thought for sure I was going to have hell bouncing between this and other things.  I tend to have a problem with leaving games on pause for long periods of time if I see something shiny become preoccupied with something else... but this game actually rewards you for taking breaks.

I swear I read it somewhere on the Wiki (or maybe it was this thread) but how do you take ships out of a fleet if you want to have less than 6?  And do Practice battles use up resources?  The wiki only mentions not needing to repair your ships after, but I can't find anything else about Practice except for the blurb under Sortie in the "How to Play" section.
