No Goats Allowed! The Nichijou Thread
« on: April 11, 2011, 02:59:10 PM »
So, I don't know about you guys, but I'm loving this series so far. It's got the same kind of low-key surrealist humor that I enjoyed in Soremachi, only with a few extra doses of mo? included. Where normally I would avoid this kind of plot-free cutefest, something about the direction is compelling to me. It's funny, absurd, often adorable, and never makes any sense.

Thoughts?

It didn't really catch my attention at first, but the more I hear about it makes me want to try it just because it sounds so bizarre. :>

I don't know what it is, but this anime has me hooked.  I've been excited since last week to see the next episode and that doesn't usually happen. :3

Also:

Oh man...  The second episode was even better than the first.

Decided to watch the show after listening to the incredibly catchy OP, was pleasantly surprised!
Sadly, the manga volumes are sold out at the site I usually go to, so I'll have to wait to check out the manga. :S

So I watched Episode 0, and wasn't terribly impressed. Then I watched Episode 1, and I lost my shit when Nano tripped. Thanks for alerting me to it's existence!

Also I really like the use of orchestral music in this.

Also the chase seen in Episode 2 was splendid.

You aren't kidding. I think this was the art staff showing off their proficiency a little bit, to demonstrate that they _can_ actually draw intense action sequences or what have you. Positively hysterical at the same time.

So, Nichijou Ep 3

Spoiler:
Hakase and Nano going crazy over the kitten's fluffyness is so hilariously cute. And then... GODDAMN, IT'S SAKAMOTO!

And in the schoolgirl group, Mai has strengthened her position as my favourite. Smashing Yukko into the ground without even making a face.

Also, I could watch the Hakase/Nano rock-paper-scissors interludes all day. So cute~

Sakamoto
confirmed for
Spoiler:
fluffiest cat ever.

Each episode keeps topping the last~  This anime is so awesome!

Also I mentioned it in another thread but it seems the first two episodes gave birth to a couple of Guile's theme moments. :3

So just started watching this... I became curious because of weird things like the windup key, I'm now utterly sold because of the humor. I'm not usually fond of slice-of-life series, but this is so far from the norm I can't help but love it.

Also, I could watch the jumprope eyecatch in Ep2 over and over again for hours and never get tired of it

What I also like are the silent intervals they put in each episode. Each episode really does get better than the last.

The interlude with the guy watering the flowers was neat. Overall, though, I feel episode 3 was kinda weaker than the others. Nothing really made me cackle in it like the prior two did. Still worthy, though.

So at great urging from Sakana I started to dive into this, and after much flailing on the net was finally told where I could get some episodes.

........after a good 16 hour download time, I finally fired up Nichijou episode 1! And found it to have Spanish subtitles. :C

Episode 4: I really want to teach a parakeet how to say, "I think I am becoming comfortable in this new body."

I am surprised a youtube of this scene has yet to manifest. It seems like the perfect short for pitching the series to others.
