Ignore boards function appears to be fucked. Specifically, selecting one or multiple boards to be ignored will set all boards to ignored (or at least all boards are marked on subsequent visits to the ignore boards page). If every single board is again unmarked and the settings saved, all the boards will again be shown as not ignored. Otherwise, all of them will stay marked. On further research, that issue is an issue I noticed for a very long time on the admin panel when doing permission changes. SMF doesn't actually go through and mark the checkboxes properly showing the current settings you have. It's saved properly if you do it of course. I've been trying to track down an alternate way to do it but it was a low priority issue because well, I'm the only one that fucks with permissions on a regular basis lol. Guess the bug affects all "checkbox" style controls.
Tried this using Firefox and Internet Explorer, same result with both. Didn't have any of the boards marked as ignored before the update, tried to mark some just now.

Assuming you haven't made any special modifications to your SMF installation that might have brought this about, I guess I'll get myself the current SMF version and take a look at this.

Umm... I think this is a bug (maybe). I went to the memberlist thing and found that clicking on the row of letters near the top, which presumably should take you to to the members who's names start with that letter, instead takes you to a page severel pages ahead. Also names that don't start with a capital letter are entirely seperate from the rest. As an example, clicking "S" took me about halfway through the list, to the names that start with capital "Z". I was trying to find myself in there... and I encountered difficulties.Sorting is case sensitive in PostgreSQL. There is no "simple" solution because it simply does not behave the same way MySQL does (sorting is case insensitive). Searching for your nick works fine.
Maybe it takes you to the page that would be correct if the lower case letters weren't seperate? idk
IE9
Internet Explorer 9 works perfectly for me. Chrome screws everything up. Firefox is usually fine, but sometimes text appears weird. I find IE is faster and simpler than those others.Uhh I've been on Chrome dev channel for over a year and a half now and I've never had any issues. And it's what I test my designs against.
I've been finding myself 403'd out of the site for many hours at a time in the past few days. No idea if this is a common problem or something specific to how I do my thing.

The 403s are likely caused by some tuning I need to do. It'll have to wait until I get a few new toys together.

I couldn't access this forum for a moment too. It said there was a problem because the server was busy or something like that.
Yeah, the disk was full and TSO was not around to look into it.
In the future, maybe the webserver logs ought to be rotated and autowiped instead of accumulating into 13 gigs of wasted space.
That.Sorry I had my cousin's graduation to go to : I'll make sure to revolve my entire social life around working this site from now on.
Was REALLY painful.
During the 18 hours.
It was genuinely not a huge deal, and was resolved either way. \o/Can I get my own clone so it can goto work for me?
Clearly this calls for a robotic TSO clone, however.

The "Replies" tab is kinda wonky. It can show two threads that were posted in today, then I view one, click it again, and see three more with posts from 2 or 3 days ago it didn't show the first time.

Now I can't load the site at all in FirefoxHuh, it works for me. I'm not using the last version of FF though.
As promised, on Jan 1st, 2015, i'll be wildcarding all zones no longer in operation - this includes rhsbl.ahbl.org, dnsbl.ahbl.org, and ircbl.ahbl.org. This means that these services will return positive responses for any queries.
The query load is still high enough that I can not justify allocating the resources necessary to support queries from people who refuse to properly maintain their mail servers.
If you are still using these services, this may cause you to incorrectly tag e-mail as spam, or create other unintended consequences. Fix and maintain your servers, now.
<em>
tag appears around the italicized text in both cases. Only print view shows correctly rendered text. This should rule out browser incompatibility.
Desktop layout still eats wide posts. (http://i.imgur.com/O64QmRb.png)It isn't just wide posts and neither occurs every time, mostly with the code tags and other markup. Only if you set a specific width it seems to have trouble breaking down the sentences + code block to restructure the post. If you make it more smaller / larger it will then snap to correct display.
Those letters must be delicious.
Yep, I just noticed that too. Checked with EP, who was on version 36, and it was fine, updated to 37, and we get that error.Just got the error on 36.0.4
I confirm as well the sec_error... does no longer show in updated browser 37.01 and,on an unrelated note, other browsers did appear unaffected from the beginning.Yeah, Firefox has been the known culprit of certificate related issues in the past. It's just very picky about what it wants every once in a while.

Using Firefox Mobile on a Galaxy S4, I can't tap on the Profile, Messages, or Members buttons; attempting to do so will "tap" on the buttons above them (Front Page, Forum Home, Search). I can still tap on Calendar and Logout, though.Interesting... I don't have this problem on my phone, not sure how to fix this other than to resize the buttons. I'll look into it.

Hey is happening again!Same.
If the certificate lasts for a year, I guess this will be a yearly event.I hope it does become an actual event...
Happy "Not a safe website to visit" Anniversary!
Firefox has a super annoying OCSP check that is blocking it, and I can't do anything about that since that's all backend with the certificate authority. Disable OCSP for now I guess, it'll resolve itself on its own.
SO HOPEFULLY THIS STOPS HAPPENING.(http://imgur.com/zusQ6XB.jpg)
I was wondering when and why shrinemaiden became completely inaccessible to me, and I think it's because of that certification switch. Chrome on my netbook hates it. Oddly enough, I can still access it on my phone (which is why I can post this). That's odd, any particular error message or anything? I'm on Chrome and Google is part of the Let's Encrypt group so I don't see any reason it shouldn't work.
I've been trying to create a new account at the Maidens of the Kaleidoscope forum, but i can't. All i get is "could not open socket" (ReCaptcha problems? ). Anyone else having this problem? I really need that account. ;n;

Cannot send personal message, the same ?could not open socket? problem that metioned above.I had received PM from another member today, so it almost feels like the Captcha is being the culprit here for sure (probably obvious). But apparently the captcha is trying to appear in PM mechanics as well for new members?
Haha, nah. Looks like someone left his account with Birthday permissions on the side :V

Still the same problem.
Well, now the recaptcha thing is not there, but I get an error screen all the same. It says the letters I typed are not the same as in the picture.
Trying to edit the Danmakufu wiki gives a database error.
I probably should have typed something that actually made sense:
TSO's looking into it, so there may be some hiccups here and there while she pokes around :V
pretty much this, seriously admins, get your shit together, we need to fix this NOW.I'm the only one handling actual admin work here and it's not my fault the recaptcha plugin breaks every 2 minutes :\ I was notified of it by Edible and I would have worked on it ASAP if I didn't literally have finals this week. Every time I fix it recaptcha changes something and it breaks the plugin and I have to update it and there's not much else I can do :[. Even if I wrote my own one it'd likely break just as often.
I'm the only one handling actual admin work here
I'm literally the world's most useless admin.
I don't quite understand why my first and only post requires a captcha verification, followed by manual moderation even when verification has been done? This is strictly for spam control, and for this exact reason you're stating Forza has mod rights to that forum to see unapproved posts. We understand it's really annoying first post moderation exists but we've had lots of issues with spam, and we've done everything we can to mitigate the impact on legitimate users. He can definitely see your post regardless.
> Note: this post will not display until it's been approved by a moderator.
Thanks to that, I can't even post my C90 order...
Not too sure if you guys are trying to combat spam or stopping newbies from posting. I'm just disappointed by the fact that my post didn't go through. Way to go guys.
Please fix.
Not a bug, but since nobody checks birthday threads anymore: Himiko still has their birthday powers after a whole month and a half. Meanwhile mine were removed after just two days before I could even give anyone an avatar. Thanks a lot.
I have bad news for you :VI'm guessing nothing can be done?
By the way, does the site icon still even exist? If you're talking about the favicon that shows up in the browser tab, yes, that's still there. Maybe try clearing your browser cache?
It's that time of year again. The site's SSH certificate expired about 40 minutes ago.
SSL Certificate seems to have expired. NOD32 and Firefox blocked me from accessing the site until I added exceptions. We all know. This certificate thing shouldn't happen, but it keeps happening at around this time of year.

Yes I'd like to file a bug, the admin here is an idiot :|
I've been getting this error for quite some time...This is now fixed, as well as a very ancient old sorting bug I could never figure out. Turns out a lot of the indexes were messed up and I inadvertently fixed them when I trashed the forum database a few hours ago :'D
If you click "members" on the top bar (where the logout, profile, search links are), then click on the "online" row (to sort by who's online), the forum software throws a database error... it does this repeatedly.
The frontpage (www.shrinemariden.org) is down, it gives this error:Fixed that too, stupid PHP7
Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.
Also all posts are showing up as being posted from localhost (127.0.0.1)

Don't worry, nothing was lost, I was able to recover absolutely everything but it took a long time :/
Are we not going to talk about MotK being down for the past few days? Or am I the only one that happened to?
You're definitely not the only one. A few of us were talking about it in IRC. Although it seems it happened to some people but not to others. I even had difficulty signing in today until like half an hour ago.Same here.
Same here.
I believe the admins can see our IPs, so you might be able to find a correlation.
For some reason, attachments in this thread (https://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,20776.msg1357678.html#msg1357678) aren't appearing on recent posts.
I tested making a new post with attachments in other threads (including in the same forum), as well as another post in the same thread; seems to be something wrong with this particular thread. Also, attachments are appearing on some older posts in the same thread, but not others.
Edit: I tried attaching a replay to the first post of the thread; it did appear. Seems to be a problem only on recent posts in this thread? I don't get it.
www.shrinemaiden.org uses an invalid security certificate.Oh come on. I thought we were over that at this point!
The certificate expired on Sunday, August 20, 2017, 10:04 PM. The current time is Monday, August 21, 2017, 12:17 AM.
You're a dojikko =]
IRC went down approximately 15 minutes ago.
I've had reports from several people now complaining that any action they attempt on MotK (sometimes even just logging in/out) is met with ambiguous database error. This doesn't seem to be affecting most people, but I've heard three different people saying the same thing so something is probably up. One seemed to fix the issue by clearing the cache for shrinemaiden.org; dunno if that would work in general.
(Unrelated to the above)
Clicking the MARK READ button on a subforum results in this:
The function still works though (the posts are marked as read).

Yup. Still expired.
site's still unsafe

We did. Then it was decided that it was drawing attention away from other boards and the rules changed.
Undoubtedly a lot of truth to this, but honestly I avoided that board in the months leading up to those changes because it had turn into a spawning point for drama tornadoes, egos, and was the playground of one now-former mod who thought his own abusive behavior was hilarious.
I mean it's not like we decided CPMC was just too much fun so let's ruin it or something.
To the 3rd of March,Saturday,2018, please forgive me  for re- stating the obvious about the Expired Certificate:" Connection/Site is Unsafe/Unsecure" , but it is an improvement we are no longer experiencing past issues(Thankfully we are still experiencing Past(?) Tales,Atmosphere,Nice People :) )about "Prompt to Hard-Block either on-Browser or Off-Browser" or "Warning - Counterfeit Site" or "Warning - Certificate Expired" which in some instances "Reset the Exception Rule". To Note : if messages or warnings are unsupported/unable to be loaded then there is at least a Tested Browser("Photon" on IPad) that " Keeps on Loading a Blank Page while Trying to Connect".
Snowball Challenges were dumb too.
While it doesn't look like they actually got any significant access, the nature of the attack at least means they managed to have some sort of arbitrary code access through the web server process.Wait... That's not significant?
Sorry for the downtime. I got a very fun email that Triela was being rude and harassing other poor server hosts as part of a DoS. Turns out, despite firewalling off the ports on memcached from day one, our server was briefly hijacked and proceeded to spew about 2TB of data out in the course of 10 hours today.
I've resecured the box and have immediately depreciated a few things. While it doesn't look like they actually got any significant access, the nature of the attack at least means they managed to have some sort of arbitrary code access through the web server process. They did not, however, seem to get anywhere past that.
I have immediately removed the long derelict frontpage, and the IRC web client is down for the time being pending redesign. I've also forcibly upgraded all of the MediaWiki instances (DMF, Help Me!). The conwiki I have not made any changes to, but if I see any suspect access I will be forced to migrate it to another platform, as it looks like MoinMoin is very dead :\
If there's any problems, please let me know. :3c

Wait... That's not significant?I'm not quite convinced they even got that far actually. All the traffic came out over IPv6, if they had access why not both? While I did have proper firewall rules in place supposedly to block outside access to TCP/UDP 11211, I'm wondering if there was a flaw that allowed the attacker to bypass it.

Unsecured and hijacked memcached servers have been producing huge DDoSes for at least a week now (https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2018/03/us-service-provider-survives-the-biggest-recorded-ddos-in-history/), but a hijacked memcached server that was already firewalled is definitely a bigger concern.

Just got my usual Certificate Failure when visiting the site. It might be that time of year again.
My assumption is that the img tag is messing stuff up. I just posted the IT IS SPRING thread and noticed that once I removed the img tag, I could post the thread.
Gesh86, can you remove your signature image for a moment and try to post which was throwing you a 500 Internal Server Error
[img width=48 height=48]http://lunarcast.net/img/mystictk/CDGDef.png[/img]
Which yields the result:The fix for the IMG tag is here!Thank you very much for this! Can confirm that it was the problem and defining the width and height allowed me to make my screenshot-laden posts. :]
When I first heard about it, I immediately realized whats wrong, normally BBCode directly converts to HTML, as is with [ b ], [ i ], and [ s ] tags, however the image tag is special in that it needs metadata in order to function properly, specifically the image width and height so the forum knows if it needs to resize a high definition image to fit a post. That script has to load the image file, switch on one of the many different formats depending on the header than read the bytes that describe the image's width and height. This image file decoder is what has stopped functioning, so the workaround is to manually specify the image's metadata as follows:
Code:Code: [Select][img width=48 height=48]http://lunarcast.net/img/mystictk/CDGDef.png[/img]
Which yields the result:
Do make sure to replace the width, height and URL with your image please
I'm getting 500 Internal Server Errors over here. All seem to happen if I'm on a topic that has at least 1 post of mine on the page from what it seems to be. I also keep getting it on my profile and messages, so my access to them is blocked and I can't change anything at all. :(
Considering helvetica hasn't been to the site at all in months
I only have partial profile editing privileges, but Fulisha's entire profile (every edit tab, not just the "Forum Profile" one; I was manually substituting user id 32096) gives the 500 error. Even their stats page. I don't understand why, if it's their signature that's broken.I'm sorry for posting again knowing it's gonna trigger another 500 error (feel free to delete this post, I just wanted to let you know I read yours and others' posts), but yeah I do think it has to do with an image in my signature probably not following the new IMG tag someone mentioned, that's the only thing I can think of that's triggering it (I don't remember if I changed my avatar either, I think I did?) I had no idea the image format changed (I actually wanted to edit my art thread (that I bet is also broken) and that's how I noticed the error, I also noticed it after I posted in RaNGE recently)
I've managed to delete Fulisha's post from this thread since it's such an important thread right now. Their post was quoted by glide, so it's still here.

I'm like completely locked out of fixing this myself though, I literally can't view or edit any of my own posts, or anything relating to my profile. I can't even view or send messages.
I can view forums and posts that don't have a post of mine, and log in/out and change my password, but everything else... I'm a walking 500 error plague at this point :( :ohdear:
If anything, the image I had in my signature came from Imgur (it's actually a small one), but I don't know if deleting it from my Imgur will fix anything either. And I'd rather not make a new account to get around this.

Edit: I was able to retrieve the first post (id 1161814) of your art thread you mentioned; you should be able to view it here (https://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?action=post;quote=1161814;topic=17950.0). Don't forget to edit out the [img] tags!
The fix for the IMG tag is here!
Do make sure to replace the width, height and URL with your image please 1
As long as the affected threads have more than one page, they can still be viewed and interacted with by going to a previous page and pressing Reply. Must be something in Fulisha's signature or avatar, then. Perhaps a moderator could clear it, thus restoring Fulisha's access to their own profile.

Edit: Everything seems to be fixed now, so I've restored the deleted posts.
This one feels particularly long. Has it ever been expired for over a week before?
Can this even be fixed without the/an admin?
Certificate has expired again. From Around 29 June 2019 up to now, 06 july 2019, Certificate is again browser-viewed as,depending on browsers, either expired (again) or incorrectly set.
Is that why it works like it's on dial-up now?
Still can't access the site on desktop due to the expired certificate; latest Firefox version seems to automatically blocks sites with expired certificates even if you have an exception made (clearing cookies and whatnot hasn't done a thing on my end...):wat: :o (It should be already resolved by you ..but in doubt I could lend some and more he)
