I'm not sure how it was for the streamers, but for us in the crowd we couldn't hear any audio.
Our experience was how Zansetsu described it (I did catch a little bit of that stuff, at least).
There were also audio issues around the $2m mark where the sound crew just...refused to cut to the crowd audio for some reason. The video was showing everyone getting really excited for a long time, tons of movement and obvious cheering, while those of us watching at home were being treated to some incredibly unrelated calm soothing music from some game I already don't remember. We only actually got a meaningful amount of crowd audio with less than $1000 to go, and then the audio cut back away 5-10 seconds after the mark was surpassed.
That's my only real complaint about yesterday, though. That and maaaaaaybe the TASBot vs. Gradius Round 2 video wearing out its welcome by the end, but I can't actually seriously complain about anything TASBot-related.
Let that sink in, actually - they got 1.5m of donations in 24 hours
Big ups to Bandai-Namco for that $125-bid prize package. I wouldn't say it single-handedly pushed the donation total to upwards of $2m, but it was almost certainly the main driving force. All of the massive donation spikes coincided with it getting advertised.
