I might have been able to take Luna Dial seriously if it weren't for that dumb-ass percussion instrument that plays off-rhythm half the time and sounds like a door being slammed shut. I really don't understand the hate on SA and IN's soundtracks. For me, ZUN's weakest efforts have doubtlessly been in PoFV and UFO.
EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I actually like much of the material from PoFV, but it was mostly a bunch of sub-par tracks drowning out the ear-candy. UFO's music is not catchy or memorable for me at all.

Bad music, depressing as well. Border of Life has some parts that shine and some that suck. Necrofantasy is so terrible ZUN had to remix it into something completely different for Necrofantasia to sound good.

I despise the depressing nature of PCB's music. I like it all until stage 3.I don't find PCB's music depressing at all. In fact, I think it's quite, well not quite upbeat (save for the Prismrivers) but uplifting. Sure, it doesn't get your blood boiling quite like SA's late stages, but I prefer this. (My preferences show through my favorite remixes; So far my favorite groups are TAM and WAVE with the classical stuff. Not the hard remixes.)
Then the only "like" I have after that is for Border of Life.

Necrofantasia's harmony does have a more solid structure to it, I'll give it that, but other factors make it worse (i.e. inferior sound dynamics, instrumentation).Actually I prefer everything about Necrofantasia: instruments that somehow manage to work all together and all the good parts of Necro Fantasy flowing one after the other, with only one of the annoying 3-note piano "interludes" Necro Fantasy had.

Eosd instrument quality IS a let down, it doesn't bother me much though. I'm curious though, for the people who dislike it fairly significantly (or more) how did you take ff7 instrumentation? I HATE that shit, especially that stupid cheesy muffled hockey organ or WTF it is.
How about pc98 instrumentation, retro sid-chip or whatever sound card music has a certain charm to it for me.

It was one of the songs that first introduces me to the Touhou-series (The other ones being Cirno's theme and Bad Apple, yes I am average). You guys just don't like the fact that things you like get popular, even though you should actually be happy about it, because there's no other way of bonding that works better than common interests, and if the series become more popular you will get more people to bond to, something that overall would be a good thing ^_^Off topic a little, but I think you're average for just the newer Touhou cultists.

Faith is for the Transient People is by far, the worst Stage 5 Boss theme.Since I heard the metal remixes before the in-game theme, I can wholeheartedly agree with that.
