I have a huge soft spot for what tvtropes calls Woobies: characters whose personalities, backstories, behaviors, and/or fates make you sad. In the case of Touhou characters, therefore, my favorite would have to be Fujiwara no Mokou: centuries of isolation and loneliness, hated and despised by just about everyone, consumed by regret for the things she'd done to herself and others. (Well, that's bit of a hyperbole, but the point is: Mokou makes me and I like that.) |
