Title: A Greater Chinese Empire (Touhou/History Mix)
Post by: Karafuto on September 23, 2013, 07:55:05 PM
In this scenario, the point of divergence is that Seiga Kaku decides to move back to China to help save the Song Dynasty from the Mongol Invasions. This will lead to an expansionist China later on, among other things.

(Note: The Chinese Calender is used here. The Georgian Calender will be displayed aside of it in parentheses.)

-----

It is turning night, and yet another day passes by as the Mongol Empire begins to conquer more of Song. Soon, Kaku Seiga arrives in the capital of Lin'an (modern day Hangzhou), and soon reaches the palace of where the Emperor is.

She enters the palace using her hair stick to open a wall and go through, and goes look for the Emperor. Soon,  Emperor Gaozong manages to spot her first. "You! How did you get in here?"

"It was easy. I went through a wall using my hair stick." she responded.

The Emperor, feeling a bit cautious, then exclaims "Who are you? Are you perhaps a spy? What have you come here for?"

Seiga nods. "I am Huo Qing'e. I've arrived to save Song from the Mongol Invasions."

Emperor Gaozong is relieved that he isn't threatened. "Really? Well be my guest, you mustn't need my permission."

Seiga begins thinking a bit more. "Actually, I was wondering if not only if I push them out of Song, but to invade their nation in revenge and bring them under control of the Song."

"Wouldn't that be too much?"

"Not really. I can quell any rebellions."

"But their Empire is quite huge, and stretches all the way to Europe. You simply can't bring all their Empire under control."

"We'll see about that. For now, how about I conquer their lands all the way to, but excluding, Central Asia?"

"Why don't you just push the Mongols out of Song, and then conquer what used to be the Jin Dynasty?"

Seiga becomes a bit disappointed. "Sure, I can do that. But can I conquer some more later?"

Emperor Gaozong becomes a bit more concerned. "I'll think about it."

"Thanks. Well, I shall be on my way now."

"Bye, and be sure to get some rest."

...

Morning approaches all over the Song. Seiga prepares herself, and sets off to defeat the Mongols.  She begins to reach one of the battle sights, and launches a huge attack. Much danmaku is fired, and manages to destroy a horde of Mongols. This surprises them, as the Mongols have never seen something like that. Nevertheless, they launch attack back with their weapons. It mostly is unsuccessful, as Seiga is quick to block them, though an arrow manages to pass by and cut her arm.
Roughly fifty minutes later, the remaining Mongols begin to retreat and head back. Seiga continues on to catch up to a few other battle sights. More hordes are defeated here and there, and some manage to retreat. By the end of the day, she manages to secure half of the Northern Border.

A few Mongols soon meet with Oghul Qaimish and tells her of their encounter. "Well, she is just one person out of many. She might manage to secure a few victories, but we can still manage to conquer the Song if we invade through places where she isn't at the moment. Show her no mercy!"

However, the Mongols are unaware of what else Seiga is capable of, and she begins reviving a few soldiers as Jiang Shi to use in her next battles.

The next day, Seiga begins launching her Jiang Shi hordes to fight more invaders. The Mongols are once again shocked and attempt to strike back. Despite managing to defeat a few of them, the Jiang Shi hordes proceed to fight and defeat the Mongol hordes. This continued for a few days, with the Northern and Northwest Borders being well fortified.

Meanwhile the Mongol Empire comes up with a new strategy, and decides to launch an invasion of the Kingdom of Dali, and try to use that as a base to invade the Song from the south. This invasion partially succeeds, but the Dali Kingdom manages to defend itself well thanks to the Erhai valley. Wasting no time, another multitude of Mongols begin invading via the Southwest and West Borders of Song. From there the invasion begins to advance for now.

By next year, in 3947 (1250/1251), parts of the western part of Song is conquered, including Chengdu. The advancement wouldn't last long, as the Song launches a quick counterattack which then leads into a stalemate. The stalemate only lasted for a few hours as Seiga managed to finally reach the area and begun helping the Chinese army defeat the hordes. Seiga decides to use a spellcard, and launches another attack. This ultimately defeats much of the hordes, but they still continue to march on.

Over the course of a few years and with the help of Seiga, the Song manage to recover their conquered territories, and manages to annex the former Jin Dynasty. An alliance with the Kingdom of Dali was also signed. Finally, by year 3957 (1260/1261) the Mongol Empire soon gave up on conquering China, and a non-aggression pact along with a peace treaty was signed between the two nations.

With this victory, a huge celebration was held in Lin'an, and Kaku Seiga was hailed as a hero. After a huge meeting in the palace, Emperor Gaozong announced his abdication, and with support of the people, Kaku Seiga was promoted to Empress. This brought an end to the Song Dynasty, and the beginning of the Chinese Empire. This was only the beginning, and in the years to come, China would later become a Great Power of the World...

It has been thirty-three years since Kaku Seiga took power in China. Between this time frame, the Mongols attempted to invade Japan in 3965 (1268), but ultimately failed. However they managed to succeed in taking more of Europe, and parts of Indian Subcontinent (but not the Himalayas). The Kingdom of Dali merged into the Chinese Empire in 3970 (1274) and became an autonomous region. In South East Asia, Taoism spread to Đại Việt and relations with China improved, the Srivijaya Empire had grew in strength and had conquered Majapahit along with expanding more into the Malay Archipelago, and the Sukhothai Kingdom declared independence from the Khmers.

Lastly, the Mongol Empire had finally collapsed in 3981 (1285) shortly after the death of Kublai Khan, who was killed in a battle against the Siberian tribes. The new nations that arose from the fallen Empire is the Golden Horde, Ilkhanate, Chagatai Khanate, and the Khanate of Mongolia.

By Year 3990 (1293/1294), times were getting uneasy for China. In the North, the Chinese-Mongol relations became strained ever since Tem?r Khan took power in the Mongolian Khanate. In the West, the many small Tibetan Kingdoms had merged together and established a strong Buddhist Kingdom. In the South, battles against the spread of Taoism by the Buddhists and Hindus were not unheard of. Despite the growing tensions, Empress Seiga managed to gain a new ally - Goryeo. Goryeo had converted to Taoism a few years after Seiga became Empress of China, and had begun to grow in power. As a result, she gifted some lands from the former Jin Dynasty to her ally and had supplied them with many weaponry the Chinese invented, along with the secrets of gunpowder.

Meanwhile, tensions between the Khanate of Mongolia and the Chinese Empire intensified and grew quickly over a few months. The intense militarisation and build up from the Khanate had grown concerns in China. In response, Empress Seiga begun to fortify the Chinese-Mongolian Border, and many watch towers were set up. In the eleventh month, Empress Seiga send a few spies to Mongolia. By the last week, the spies brought back news that Tem?r Khan has plans to invade the Chinese Empire with a few years. Taking advantage of this news, Empress Seiga put more funding into technology and weapons, and ordered a mass military build up.

Around Year 4000 (1304), Tem?r Khan launched an invasion of the Chinese Empire. As the hordes crossed the border, they begin travelling pass by abandoned towns. Tem?r Khan grew suspicious and wondered where all the Chinese had went. One horde managed to reach Beijing, which was also empty. The horde begin checking the city, and without warning, a few Chinese soldiers came out of hiding and managed to destroy them by surprise. A few other hordes that ran into abandoned towns also suffered a similar fate, though some of the Mongol soldiers that managed to either survive the ambush or avoid it, flees.

Soon, Tem?r Khan reached Shijiazhuang, and saw that the city was one of the few that was not abandoned. However he noticed that the population was quite low compared to the number of buildings he saw, and begins to inspect the area. A few minutes later, he hears an explosion, and decides to run to the scene. He sees that some of his soldiers have been destroyed. He then looks up and spots Empress Seiga in the distance.

Seiga laughs. "Well well, it seems your invasion has heavily gone wrong hasn't it?"

Tem?r Khan was disgusted in hearing this. "This wasn't supposed to happen. I had planned this for quite some time, and hoped to take the Chinese Empire by surprise. How could you manage to pull off something like this?"

Seiga shakes her head. "I developed new plans and tactics to better protect China from invaders like you. Need I say more?"

"Very clever. So you had some towns and cities be abandoned, to try to slow down the invasion..."

"Actually, it was that, and, a sneak attack at every corner. When you least expect it. Many of your hordes have died in abandoned cities and towns this way. I think I saw a few of them flee and gave up. Such a shame. Anyway, I had enough talking. It's time for me to end you and your nation."

Following this, she begun firing lots of danmaku. Tem?r Khan begun running and attempting to dodge as many danmaku as he could. Another horde manages to make it to the battle and launch their own attack. Seiga responds by dodging some of it,  but gets struck with an arrow or two. She launches a huge counter attack and manages to destroy the horde. By that time, Tem?r Khan seemed to be nowhere in sight.

Some of the remaining hordes begin to retreat back to the Khanate as fast as they could. However they run into some Chinese blockades, and manage to get passed some. Finally, Tem?r Khan and his last soldiers manage to run back into the Khanate of Mongolia safely.

Despite the somewhat successful retreat, a huge amount of Chinese army begins crossing the border into the Khanate, including Empress Seiga herself. More battles take place, and soon the Mongolian Khanate is reduced to only Avarga. The capital is surrounded by Chinese soldiers, and Seiga begins walking to the palace. Once there, she uses her hair stick to open the wall, and enters. Tem?r Khan, seeing that he is surrounded, decides to offer a peace treaty. Seiga, however, declines and proceeds to fire some danmaku at him. A few minutes later, Tem?r Khan finally is destroyed, and all of the nation is annexed into the Chinese Empire.

Following the defeat of the Mongolian Khanate, China became more powerful, and manages to spread its influence. Taoism begins to spread in the Empire of Tibet and some of South East Asia. Most of the Buddhists and Hindus in South East Asia begins to cease attacking the Taoists, however the tensions against the Taoists continue. The Srivijaya Empire however, had managed to grow in power even more and had expanded to include the rest of Our Timeline (OTL) Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

Meanwhile in the Kamakura Shogunate (Japan), some Japanese begin to notice a growing powerful Chinese Empire and Goryeo. Mononobe no Futo hearing about this, decides to plan to take a trip to China sometime later.

Hmm, interesting. A history crossover? Seems interesting.

I wonder how Siega will be. Is she already a hermit? Or still a human?

Anyway, nice work. Can't wait for more. (I love alternate history)

I think it's safe to say that she's a hermit, since her life was for the most part the same before the point of divergence (which is around the ~1240s) took place.

And thanks. ^^

------

It's now forty more years later, and East Asia continues to look more different each time. Empress Seiga launched an expansion campaign into Siberia, which is going very slowly, due to many of the deadly winters that continues to be an obstacle. The Island of Kuye (Our Timeline (OTL) Karafuto/Sakhalin) has been colonised and split between China and Goryeo.

Elsewhere in the World, the Ashikaga clan had emerged and took control of Japan, after the Kenmu Restoration had failed to bring the nation under an Absolute Monarchy. The Srivijaya Empire continues to be one of the most powerful Buddhist and Hindu nations in Asia, and had supplied the Sukhothai Kingdom (now called Siam) [Buddhist] and the recently emerged nation in India, the Vijayanagara Empire [Hindu] to help unite the other Buddhist and Hindu states in South and South East Asia, to prevent Taoist Đại Việt and Taoist/Confucian China from controlling the area. Hindu Champa had already fallen to Đại Việt, with the aid of Empress Seiga.

Since the 4020s (around ~1320s) the Empire of Tibet had grown more authoritarian following the spread of Taoism inside. The Buddhist Theocracy had begun suppressing the existing Taoists, and had funded and armed the White Lotus Society in China to help in overthrowing the Taoist and Confucian politicians. Buddhist rebellions became commonplace in South-Western and Western China, especially around the Tibetan-Chinese Border. Empress Seiga went on to make Buddhism an official religion of China, alongside Taoism and Confucianism, hoping to stop the rebellions. It had little effect, and the White Lotus Society continued to launch attacks against Taoists and Confucianists.

In the second month of Year 4041 (1344/1345), some of the White Lotus Society members had started a fire in Lin'an, which grew to devastate the city and burnt down the palace. Empress Seiga manages to escape the palace unscathed, and also moved to Beijing. From there, she launched a huge attack against the White Lotus Society, and thus begun the Chinese Religious Civil War. In this Civil War, it is the Taoists and Confucianists, the Chinese Army, and Empress Seiga herself, along with the military support of Taoist Korea and Taoist Đại Việt, against the White Lotus Society/Buddhist Rebels which was funded and supplied by Tibet. Many towns and cities in Western and South Western China held by Buddhists became either levelled or partially destroyed, including Chengdu, Guiyang, and Yunnan-Fou (modern day Kunming). However they weren't the only sites of focus, as some battles took place by the Coastal Region, and in the North West area of China. Casualties grew quickly on both sides, into the millions. Even Seiga herself got injured in a few battles, but managed to keep on fighting.

The Chinese Religious Civil War had lasted for ten years and rocked the nation greatly. Empress Seiga, the Taoists, and Confucianists managed to emerge victorious, with the remaining Buddhists fleeing to the Buddhist states in South East Asia. With the civil war over, China begun reconstruction of its devastated cities and town. However, Tibet was not to be spared, and Empress Seiga begun plotting an invasion of the Buddhist Theocracy.

Jumping ahead twenty years, China has for the most part been rebuilt. Plenty of buildings and towns had to be torn down and new ones were built. Lin'an was also rebuilt and had been restored to its former self, except the palace. In Beijing, the Forbidden City was built, and it became Empress Seiga's new home. Shortly after the completion of the Forbidden City, Beijing became the new capital of China. The military had also been heavily built up in preparation for the planned invasion of Tibet. Meanwhile in Goryeo, the Singijeon and the Hwacha had been created, and was shared with China.

In the first month of Year 4072 (1375), Empress Seiga officially declared war against the Empire of Tibet. Chinese soldiers marched into the Buddhist Theocracy, and was met with a huge blockade. Tibet was already prepared to fight against the Chinese invasion, as the border had been guarded heavily. They also were not going to surrender easily, and most would fight to the death, doing anything to defend their nation. The new Korean weapons were put to the test, as the Chinese used the Hwacha against the Tibetans and managed to do a decent amount of damage. Seiga and a few other Chinese Generals led the Chinese Army across the rough terrain, including through the mountains. Many towns, villages, and Buddhist Temples were raided and burned to the ground. Eight months later, Seiga and some Chinese soldiers managed to reach Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Much resistance was fought against, and Seiga flew to the palace. She entered via using her hair stick and entered. Upon exploring it, she noticed that the Emperor had managed to flee elsewhere. Angered, she decided to destroy the palace, and continued to lead the invasion.

She wasn't going to give up yet, and had begun to search for the Tibetan Emperor. More of Tibet was invaded, soon reducing the nation to OTL Ngari Prefecture. As the invasion was coming to a close, Seiga knew that the Tibetan Emperor had to hide somewhere. A few hours later, she managed to reach the town of Zanda, and had searched there. The Tibetan Emperor attempted to launch a surprise attack by launching an arrow at her calf. The arrow ended up passing by, but the side of her left leg got cut deep. Seiga, now tearing up in pain and anger, turned around and saw the Tibetan Emperor. He attempted to flee yet again, but Seiga, despite her pain, chased after him via flying and used a spellcard. Much danmaku and lasers were fired all around, and some hit the Tibetan Emperor, thus killing him.

The war against Tibet finally came to a close. Much of the former nation was in ruins, and became annexed into the Chinese Empire. Some of the Prisoners of War were executed, while some others were exiled into Chinese Kuye. Following the fall of Tibet, much of the Buddhist and Hindu states begun to fear China. In the Ashikaga Shogunate, many Japanese, including a few of the Daimyo, took notice of the rising Chinese Power, and fear against the Chinese begun to rise in Japan...

The 4100s (~1400s) have arrived. In China, there is much peace and prosperity, though at the same time they continued to expand in Siberia, along with some expansion toward Central Asia. The Chinese have also colonised Taiwan and the islands of Luzon and Mindoro, with the latter becoming the Prefecture of Mai (麻逸).

Elsewhere in Asia, the Vijayanagara Empire continued to unite the Hindu states in India, and also invaded non-Hindu states, such as the Delhi and Bengal Sultanates. Siam had grew greatly in power, and had absorbed the Burmese states. Srivijaya had begun expanding in Australia, which the Srivijayans had called the new continent Teṉ Maṉai (Tamil: தென் மனை, Thai: แผ่นดินภาคใต้; meaning South Land). This land was kept a secret from the other powers, except Siam, Vijayanagara, and the Khmers. The Ashikaga Shogunate launched an expansion campaign against the Ainu of the North, and soon enough, all of Hokkaidō was brought under Japanese control. The Ainu that survived fled to Kamchatka, but as the Japanese continued expanding across the Chishima (Kuril) Islands, they had again fled further north.

Back in China, with the support and funding by the Chinese Government, including Empress Seiga herself, Zheng He had prepared a fleet to travel across the Ocean. He set sail on the third month of Year 4104 (1407/1408), and begun to travel across the Pacific Islands. Within a few months, Zheng He and his fleet managed to land in a new land (at OTL Antofagasta Region, Chile), that was never seen before. The crew had explored around for a while, before heading back a few weeks later and mapping the area.

Upon his return to China, Zheng He explained his discoveries to Empress Seiga. Impressed by this discovery, Seiga decided to begin sending some more fleets to the new lands, as part of China's expansion campaign. Following this, China would become a colonial empire. Zheng He helped with the next fleet, and went back to the new lands. Soon the first colony was set up, called Zh?l? (智利). Soon, Empress Seiga had spread the word to Goryeo and Đại Việt about this new discovery, and soon enough, Korean and Vietnamese ships had set sail to the new lands and established their own colonies. The new continent was later named Ming (明).

The colonies in Ming had expanded decently, but soon enough, by Year 4136 (1440), the Chinese colony of Zh?l? came in contact with the Tawantinsuyu (Inca) Empire. Not taking these visitors lightly, the Tawantinsuyu begun to invade the colony, and sought to push them out of the area. Unfortunately, the plan didn't work, and the Chinese colonialists managed to strike back and used the Hwacha to destroy the Incans. After a few weeks, the Tawantinsuyu decided to retreat and left the Chinese alone.

The news soon spread to China about the Tawantinsuyu encounter. Empress Seiga had brushed it off and considered the Tawantinsuyu, despite their large empire, quite weak. After reports of the Incas dying from the diseases the colonists had brought, Seiga thought even less of them, and considered them a joke. However, she does send more military supplies to the colonialists to aid them in helping taking out any other aggressive natives.

By the late 4180s (~1483-1493) and the end of the century, the Tawantinsuyu was still around but was reduced to half its size. The Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese colonies had expanded some more, though not by much due to the terrain. Christopher Columbus had reached the Caribbean and claimed it for Spain, and colonisation soon followed.

The Ashikaga Shogunate had fell into a Sengoku Era since the 4160s (~1460s) and continues to rage on. The Bengal Sultanate finally had fell to the Vijayanagara Empire, and unification of the Indian subcontinent was achieved. Vijayanagara Emperor Saluva Narasimha Deva Raya met with Empress Seiga to discuss a buffer zone to be established. The talks were successful, and China sold some land to Vijayanagara, and with that, had merged into the Kingdom of Nepal, a Vijayanagaran vassal state. Tensions against the Taoists had reached low levels throughout the Buddhist and Hindu nations for now.

By the end of the century, the Portuguese and Spanish begun arriving in Asia looking for new trade routes.

--------

Advancing on, towards the 4200s (~1500s). With the appearance of Europeans now in Asia, many Empires took notice. The Portuguese were the first to go, following their attempt to conquer Goa from Vijayanagara. The Portuguese fleet was destroyed was wiped out by the Vijayanagaran Navy, and those that tried to flee were caught and held as prisoners.

Soon, another Portuguese fleet made its way, this time with a Portuguese diplomat. They arrived at the city of Kochi (Cochin), and was met with the Vijayanagaran Army. The Portuguese diplomat tried to speak with them, but denied him entry into the nation. Disappointed, the Portuguese continued on, hoping to establish a port. The Portuguese were denied in Siam, Srivijaya, Khmer Empire, and Đại Việt. Next up was China, and the Portuguese diplomat had managed to meet with Empress Seiga. She thought for a while, and decided to grant the Portuguese a port in Macau, and signed a trade deal with them. However, she warned them that if they decide the mess around with China, war will ensure. The Portuguese took the warning well, and it was noted.

Shortly after giving the Portuguese a port, Empress Seiga begun to take an interest in Europe, and had an idea of spreading Taoism there. She soon sent a fleet to travel to Europe, along with Taoist missionaries. It first reached Lisbon, and then Gij?n. Upon entering Spain, the Chinese had offered a trade deal and wanted to establish a port. The Spanish agreed to it, and soon gave them a part of Gij?n. Meanwhile, the Taoist missionaries had begun to spread Taoism in Spain, with little success. Taoism was soon introduced in Portugal from Macau, and had quickly spread throughout the nation.

Soon the Buddhist and Hindu nations became aware of Seiga's idea of spreading Taoism in Europe. Siam, Srivijaya, and Vijayanagara begun to send Buddhist and Hindu missionaries to Europe to counter Taoism, along with establishing trade deals with a few European nations. By the 4250s (~1550s), the Asian presence and influence in Europe was great while in Asia, European presence was small, and influence was non-existent.

The Spanish colonisation of the New World continued on and already have conquered the Aztec Empire. Meanwhile in the continent of Ming, the Tawantinsuyu Empire continued to shrunk some more, as the Chinese colonialists had a desire to conquer them. Teṉ Maṉai continues to be colonised by Srivijaya, though some Teṉ Maṉai Natives begun resisting Srivijayan rule.

Later on in Year 4289 (1592/1593), a fateful event occurred: Toyotomi Hideyoshi had launched an invasion of Goryeo, aiming to conquer the nation along with China. Empress Seiga was enraged by this, and declares war on Japan in defence of Goryeo. While the Koreans were pushing the Japanese out of Korea, Seiga helped the fleets destroy the Japanese ships, and soon Chinese soldiers landed in Kyūshū, while the Koreans launched an invasion into the Chishima Islands and Hokkaidō. The Japanese fought well, but the Chinese and Korean forces continued to advance. Within a few weeks, all of Kyūshū and parts of Shikoku were under Chinese control while Hokkaidō was under Korean rule.

However, in Sado Island, someone wasn't going to let Japan fall and become annexed between China and Goryeo. She made her preparations, and soon headed out to save the Island Nation....

Hmm, someone from Sado Island....

Mamizou?

Also, shame the Asians didn't conquer South America before Columbus arrived. I wonder how far the Asians will expand... Once the get past the Andes, they're free to roam the (relatively) flat rain forests...

Again, great work. Perhaps this dynasty will be called the Huo Dynasty (霍朝)?

Correct, it's Mamizou that's going to appear.

The Spanish nor the Portuguese really won't be able to expand much in Ming (South America)
, and will be pushed out by the Asians eventually.

It can be called the Huo Dynasty (and is used as an alternate name), although Seiga is the only Empress so far. Hence why it's just called the Chinese Empire instead, as it has only one ruler.

-----

The Koreans continued on advancing down on Dewa and Mutsu Provinces, but soon much of the invasion force got stuck out by danmaku. One Korean General looked up ahead and saw something unusual. "A Raccoon? But how?" he thought. The Raccoon begun to walk towards the Korean General, and soon launched more danmaku. He tried to flee but got killed by danmaku in the process. Soon, the Raccoon transformed into the Korean General, and proceeded to direct the Korean Army out of Northern Japan. The Koreans were confused as to why. "You see, if you had continued to advance you would have met a powerful person to fight against, and it would have resulted in many deaths. I've seen it myself and it was scary!" the faux Korean General said. With that, the Koreans left Japan from the North. With that taken care of, the faux Korean General transformed back into her normal form. She now started flying towards the Chinese invasion.

The Chinese Army continued advancing in Honshū, and begun storming into the Harima and Tajima Provinces . Meanwhile, without warning, the Raccoon arrived at the scene of the battle and proceeded to launch a huge attack. This took out a huge majority of the Chinese army, and pushed them back by quite a bit. Seiga, while searching in one of the buildings, went back outside and was shocked at what she saw. She then knew that someone of a great power had done this, and proceeded to look around. Soon the Raccoon landed on the ground. Seiga realised that this was no ordinary person. "Just what are you?"

"I'm none other than Mamizou Futatsuiwa. What brings you and your Chinese army here, hmm?"

"Well, first off, Toyotomi Hideyoshi started the invasion of Goryeo. I stepped in to defend my ally, and we both launched an invasion of Japan. We are on a quest to find and capture Hideyoshi, along with dividing some of Japan between me and Goryeo. We'll leave Honshū as a part of Japan."

"I figured as much.  But, I simply can't allow Japan to be divided, and will not have that happen. Yes, Hideyoshi made a mistake of invading Korea. However conquering and annexing parts of Japan in spite, is a bit too extreme."

"Your point? I would not want such an event happen again, so to make sure of it, me and Korea will split the land up, and keep a close eye on the remains."

"Look, how about this. I'll allow you to capture Hideyoshi, as well as any of his soldiers that aided the invasion. Also, instead of annexing parts of Japan, why not just have them pay reparations?"

"Well, fine, but if in the future Japan has another leader that attempts another invasion of Korea or China, just remember that you will be held responsible. Not for the invasion, but your decision to not let us split Japan earlier."

"That sounds, again, a bit extreme, but I'll note your warning. Let us head to Kyoto, and discuss this with the Emperor."

The next day, the leaders of the war, along with a few other generals, met in Kyoto. Present, was the Emperor Go-Yōzei of Japan, Tokugawa Ieyasu from the Tokugawa Clan, King Seonjo from Goryeo, Empress Seiga of China, and Mamizou Futatsuiwa. After a lengthy discussion, the Treaty of Kyoto was created. In it, Hideyoshi and those who aided in the invasion of Korea were to be searched for and handed to Korea as prisoners and Japan would pay reparations to both China and Korea, along with paying tribute to both nations for the next ten years. It was then signed, and peace in East Asia was achieved for the most part. Toyotomi Hideyoshi was found and captured a few days later by the Tokugawa clan, and was sent to Korea.

A week later, Tokugawa Ieyasu went on to fight and defeat the remaining few clans, and by 4297 (1600), the Tokugawa Shogunate was established, with Tokugawa Ieyasu becoming the first Shogun.

Meanwhile in Ming, the Tawantinsuyu Empire finally collapsed and was conquered by Zh?l?, and the Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese colonies managed to cross the Gāo Bōfēng (高波峰; OTL Andes) Mountains, and begun exploring the other side. The Portuguese colony of Brasil had expanded quite well. The Spanish begun expanding in Northern Ming, via Panam? and down from the Caribbean. Soon the Spanish came into contact with Zh?l?, and later a few conflicts arose between China and Spain.

By the 4320s (~1620s), colonisation of the New World was going to heat up. The Dutch had established their New Netherland colony in Vinland (North America), Spain continued to expand as usual, England also established a few colonies, and France was planning to join in. On the Pacific side, the Japanese expanded into Kamchatka and conquered the rest of the Far North East not under Chinese control, including OTL Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. From there, the Japanese begun colonising Alaska, known as Hondo (本土), and later established one further down in Vinland (around OTL Del Norte County), and named it Wa (和), after the old name of Japan.

In Eastern Europe, the Tsardom of Russia went on its quest to expand across Siberia, and soon came into contact with China. Wanting to reach the other side of Siberia, the Russians invaded China. A few hours later, news came of the Russian invasion, and Empress Seiga responded with war against Russia. The Chinese Army and Seiga fought against the Russian Army, However the winters had made it difficult, not so much for the Russians but for the Chinese. Despite this, Seiga managed to push back the Russians and kicked them out of Chinese Siberia. After this event, the Russians ceased to expand any further in Siberia, for now anyway...

With much tensions between China and Spain in Ming, a colonial war broke out in Year 4370 (1673/1674), as the Spanish invaded Zh?l?. Unfortunately for the Spanish, the Chinese were decently advanced in technology, and proceeded to destroy much of the Spanish army. Within seven years, the Spanish was pushed out of Ming and suffered heavy losses. King Charles II of Spain, not wanting to lose its remaining colonies, decided to sign a peace treaty with China. This war sparked an independence movement in New Spain, which would grow slowly over the course within a few decades.

In Teṉ Maṉai, the Srivijayans continued advancing and launched a few attack against the natives who tried to stop Srivijayan expansion. Aside from the few European expeditions to Teṉ Maṉai, the continent remains unclaimed except for Srivijaya.

Peace continued in Asia for the most part. Thankfully, aside from the attempted Portuguese conquest of Gao from Vijayanagara over one hundred years ago, the Europeans had no interest nor even dared to try to colonise the area. Instead, trade agreements were signed with the Asian nations.

The 4390s (~1690s) were coming to a close. The Chinese continued to make new achievements and breakthroughs in technology and science. It seems that a special event will be happening soon. Really soon.

Great job, once again. Great fanfic.  :]

Quote
On the Pacific side, the Japanese expanded into Kamchatka and conquered the rest of the Far North East not under Chinese control, including OTL Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. From there, the Japanese begun colonising Alaska, known as Hondo (本土), and later established one further down in Vinland (around OTL Del Norte County), and named it Wa (和), after the old name of Japan.

Welp, there goes Canada.

Also, another map update would be nice. My question about where England is at will probably be answered there...

Thanks very much. ^_^

As for the map update, there will be two in this post.

------

The 4400s (~1700s) are kicking in, and the first ten years of it starts with a bang! In China, Goryeo, and Đại Việt, the Industrial Revolution has arrived! The Taoists now have an advantage, for now. Soon this glorious event would spread to the Hindu and Buddhist states thirty years later. In other parts of the World,  the Act of Union occurs in England and Scotland, uniting the two nations into the Kingdom of Great Britain. In Japan, Mount Fuji erupts.

In Ming and Vinland, the Asian colonies expand greatly, as do the European colonies. The Portuguese colony of Brasil becomes mostly populated by Portuguese Catholics wanting to escape the now mostly Taoist Portugal. Meanwhile New Spain falls under heavy Chinese influence, and many Taoist missionaries were sent there, along with the funding of the independence movements.

In Europe, the Taoist, Hindu, and Buddhist missionaries become successful, except around most of the Mediterranean, in Spain, and in Italy. The missionaries also made it to Eastern Europe but were not really successful there.

Africa has caught interest to Asian travellers and missionaries alike. Soon, Madagascar becomes colonised by Vijayanagara. China and Siam also begins to establish colonies in Africa. With this, Taoism, Hinduism, and Buddhism begins to spread from there.

At Teṉ Maṉai, it has been more or less conquered by Srivijaya, though most of the centre remains unclaimed for now. A few coastal parts of Teṉ Maṉai remain free, but became under the rule of Srivijaya within the next few decades. The Srivijayans had also landed at Aotearoa (New Zealand), and begun colonising the area as well, along with spreading Hinduism and Buddhism.

Tensions between the Taoists and the Buddhist-Hindus begun to rise once again.

By the 4450s (~1750s), the Holy Roman Empire had collapsed completely. Hindu-Buddhist Preu?en (Prussia) begun expanding to absorb the small German states with support from Vijayanagara and Siam, while the Roman Catholic Habsburg Monarchy obtained Bayern (Bavaria) as a protectorate. Wars within Germany would become frequent, with the Habsburgs losing most of the battle. Taoist Danmark-Norge also took advantage of this and had annexed Slesvig-Holsten (Schleswig-Holstein).

A small uprising occurred in Vinland in the early 4470s (~1770s) in the lower British colonies. The Brits however, managed to crush the rebellion, and George Washington was executed. In New Spain, independence movements caught on, which would later lead to the Mexican War of Independence by the late 4480s (~1780s). On the tenth day, fourth month, of Year 4488 (roughly around May 15th 1791), Mexico had ceded from Spain, and the Mexican Empire was established. It was quickly recognised by China, Goryeo, and Đại Việt, and the three nations offered the new nation an alliance and trade agreement, in which the Mexican government had accepted.

In Europe, the French Revolution was in full effect, and by the end of the century, war was going to brew up.

Map of the World around the end of the century. (http://i43.tinypic.com/imv3wp.png)

-----

Flipping to the 4500s (~1800s), the Napoleonic Wars had begun and raged on. Even more, China, Vijayanagara, Siam, and Srivijaya had supplied various European nations that followed either Taoist, Hindu, or Buddhist faiths. Empress Seiga however had originally supported Napoleon, until he decided to invade Taoist Portugal. Following this, Seiga had China switched to the Coalition side.  Meanwhile Hindu-Buddhist Preu?en had prevented the French from advancing beyond their borders. The French were successful in conquering Northern Italy, Switzerland, and the Lowland Countries, though Hindu Netherlands became a thorn on their side. Parts of the Rhineland were also conquered and made into a puppet by France. The French also launched an invasion of the British Isles, and managed to conquer Lower England along with Cornwall and London. The huge war soon became deadlocked as the French and its Allies were not able to advance against the Coalition, and vice versa.

With nothing else to gain, the war came to an end in Year 4512 (~1815) by the Congress of Hannover. In it, the French would be able to keep Belgium and Luxembourg, but had to give independence to the Hindu Netherlands, Switzerland, and Northern Italy, and give back French England to Britain. A few other border changes occurred, including Buddhist Sweden losing land to both Orthodox Russia and Taoist Danmark-Norge.

In Year 4554 (~1858), the British would launch an invasion of Vijayanagara, to attempt to establish the British Raj. The invasion went horribly wrong, and the Vijayanagarans had surprised them with a new weapon: Mysorean rockets. Most of the British Invasion was destroyed by this new weapon, along with most of their fleets. Soon, with the support of Siam, Srivijaya, and the Khmers, Vijayanagara had sent fleets to invade Britain itself along with her colonies. As a result, the British Isles became under Vijayanagara rule, and the Dominion of Vilāyata (Hindi:ब्रिटेन की डोमिनियन) was established. The former British colonies in Vinland also went to Vijayanagara and the Dominion of Samajhautā (Hindi:समझौता की डोमिनियन) was created. Other parts of the former British Empire were split between Siam and Srivijaya, while some of the British colonies in Vinland, specifically British possessions in the Caribbean and Central Vinland, were sold to Mexico.

In Japan, the Meiji Restoration had occurred. Empress Seiga didn't take too kindly of this, but decided to brush it off. However China and Korea would continue to keep an eye on Japan, making sure it does not try to invade. In Year 4575 (~1879), the Ryūkyū Kingdom was annexed by Japan, which caused more concerns. Elsewhere in Japan, Reimu Hakurei was assassinated, and the Great Hakurei Border was not established.

In other news, the Scramble for Africa went underway, and many Asian nations, and some European nations gone on to colonise the continent. In Oceania, Srivijaya had finally conquered all of Teṉ Maṉai and Aotearoa.

By the end of the century, tensions had begun to reach a whole new level and new alliances were formed.

The 4600s (~1900s) came around. Tensions continued on, especially in Europe. In China, Empress Seiga had reformed the government a bit turning it into an Executive Constitutional Monarchy and the Prime Minister office was established. Soon, Sun Yat-sen becomes the first official Prime Minister following an election.

In 4611 (~1914), Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip. Austria-Hungary then responded by invading Serbia. Shortly afterwards, Russia came in to aid Serbia, and Hindu-Buddhist Germany, along with Bulgaria, stepped in to aid Austria-Hungary. Vijayanagara and Siam gets dragged in to help Germany, and France jumps in helping Russia. Seeing as France joined the war, Hindu Netherlands declared war on France. Thus begun the European War.

The war looked favourable for the Central Powers, mostly thanks to Vijayanagara and Siam. Germany managed to fight off France, with Vijayanagara's help, and the invasion of Russia went smooth. Austria-Hungary and Bulgaria managed to defeat and split Serbia, while parts of Greece were annexed by Bulgaria (as Greece had joined in with France and Russia). Russia had withdrawn three years into the war due to the revolution and civil war, though not before having to give Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus, and Finland independence. The Alexandre Telegram, dispatched by the French Minister of Foreign Affairs,  Alexandre Ribot, was decoded by the Vijayanagaran intelligence before it made its way to Mexico. In the letter France had offered Mexico a military alliance and asked it to join the Entente Powers and invade Vijayanagaran territories in Vinland. After hearing this news, Mexico joined in the war, helping the Central Powers.

The war came to an end in Year 4615 (~1918), with victory for the Central Powers. The Treaty of Dresden was created. In it, France had to give up Belgium and Luxembourg to the Netherlands, while the French holdings of Africa were split between Germany and Vijayanagara. Montenegro was annexed by Austria-Hungary, while Romania became a vassal state. The independent states that emerged from Russia were turned into German protectorates. France also had their military restricted quite harshly.

A few months after the war, Austria-Hungary was reformed into the United States of Greater Austria. Meanwhile in Russia the civil war raged on, with the Communists gaining the upper hand. By the end of Year 4618 (~1922), the Communists managed to gain control of Russia. With this, the Soviet Union was established. Empress Seiga grew suspicious about the new Russian regime, and didn't trust them one bit.

Elsewhere in China, a few revolutionaries had appeared.

(World in 4621 (~1925).) (http://i39.tinypic.com/16k3k3o.jpg)

------

The 4620s (~1920s) were perhaps one of the difficult times in parts of the World, while other experienced a great time. In France, anger and dissatisfaction led to a rise of Fascism in the nation. Ren? Mayer managed to gain popularity and was the leading force in the French Popular Party. A similar occurrence happened in Italy, with the Italians want the peace of Italian speaking land that Austria holds. Sweden had experienced similar movements, wanting to take revenge against Danmark-Norge, and a desire to take Finland. In Ming, Brazil declared independence from Portugal. Japan underwent intense militarisation and begun having its eyes on Korea. In Vinland, Mexico's economy was booming and flourishing like never before. In Asia, Vijayanagara was renamed to the Empire of Bhārat (India).

Near the end of this decade, a Civil War occurred in China once again, this time its the Communists, along with the Manchus, against Empress Seiga and the Republicans.

----

Moving quickly to the 4630s (~1930s). A Fascist Regime took power in France, with Ren? Mayer as the Dirigeant (Leader) of France. Sweden and Italy also have Fascist Regimes, as Sven Olov Lindholm and Benito Mussolini came to power, respectively.

In China, the long and bloody civil war continues, and became China's biggest headache ever since the Religious War that happened more than five hundred years ago. Casualties built up on both sides, and soon enough, surpassed the total casualties from the old civil war. Later, in Year 4633 (~1936), Japan took advantage of the Chinese Civil War and launched an invasion of Korea. The news came to Empress Seiga, but there was little she could do to save Korea, and had sent a few military divisions to help them against the Japanese invasion.

Mamizou Futatsuiwa, having remembered Seiga's warning from the last time Japan invaded Korea, went on to deal with the Japanese Government. Much of the Japanese Government, including Prime Minister Fumimaro Konoe, refused to pull the Japanese Military out of Korea. With this, Mamizou had launched a coup against the government successfully and installed herself as leader. Shortly afterwards, she managed to halt the invasion and pulled the Japanese out of Korea. She also formally apologised and had Japan pay reparations to the Koreans.

In 4635 (~1938), France launches an invasion of Netherlands, igniting a war that would engulf most of the world.

-----

Continuing down this decade and going into the 4640s (~1940s), France had managed to steamroll through the Netherlands and most of Germany. Meanwhile Sweden conquered Danmark-Norge itself, though the government had fled to Iceland. Italy came storming into the Balkans and also invaded Ethiopia via Italian Eritrea. The Soviet Union at first participated on the Axis side, and had managed to annex Ukraine and Belarus, but was betrayed and soon switched to the Allied side.

With the Japan's invasion having been stopped, Empress Seiga had to no longer worry about Korea nor a Japanese invasion, and continued to fight against the Communists. A few weeks later, the Chinese Civil War had finally came to an end as Empress Seiga and the Republicans had destroyed most of the Communist rebellions, and had killed many key Chinese Communist Leaders. The remaining Communists soon surrendered and were arrested. Meanwhile Mao Zedong, the one who started this rebellion, was executed. With the civil war over, Seiga had decided to focus on rebuilding her nation, but had sent a few supplies from Zh?l? to help Danmark-Norge against Sweden.

In 4643 (~1946), Mexican, Bhārat, Siam, Khmer, and Srivijayan forces finally managed to invade Normandy, and launched a successful invasion of France. Meanwhile German and Austrian forces begun pushing back the French and Italian invasions, while Finland had pushed back the Swedish forces. A year later, the Axis had finally been defeated, and now occupied by the allied forces.

The League of Nations was also created shortly after the war, aiming to prevent another catastrophe like this from occurring again. The permanent members of the Security Council are Mexico, Bhārat, Germany, Austria, Srivijaya and China.

By the end of this decade, a Communist Revolution had occurred in Persia, soon bring the country under Communist rule. Soon enough, the Allies would have to deal with yet another threat, the Soviet Union.

The Cold War has begun.

Yay, World Wars! (That was a large time skip....)

Also, perhaps a little guide or chart of the country names used in the fanfic would help the people who first read this.

Perhaps something like this?

Country Name      Location (Present Day)

(Countries)              (Places)

Aside from that, great job. Looking forwards to the time paradoxes in the 1990's when ZUN decides to make Touhou....
Reimu Hakurei was assassinated a few posts back....

That is a good idea. I'll do one every time a new country is mentioned (and maybe again if the same nation has border changes?). Also, where should I put it? In the middle of the story once a country is mentioned, after the end of the chapter/section/etc., or do it all at the very beginning?

---------

Walking into the 4650s and 4660s (~1950s-1960s), we see that the Soviet Union begins backing a few revolutions. Ethiopia and Brasil were the next to go communist, after revolutions in said countries managed to succeed. The Khmer Empire fell into civil war, along with Đại Việt. Empress Seiga, not wanting to lose her ally, goes to Đại Việt and helps them fight against the Communists. Siam intervenes in the Khmer Civil War and aids the Monarchists.

Independence movements have occurred in parts of Africa. A few nations had decided to give a few of their colonies independence, and the African nations that did were kept an eye on by the original holders to make sure Communism doesn't gain a hold in the nation. Here is a list of African nations that gained independence:

Francoist Spain and Portugal were the only ones that didn't give their African holdings independence, China continued to keep H?jiāo Hǎi'?n (OTL Liberia), and Madagascar, Djibouti and Somalia remained a part of Bhārat.

In Europe, the European Economic Community was established by Germany, Austria, Danmark-Norge, Finland, Netherlands, and Portugal. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania also joined later on, as did Greece.

In Western Asia, the Ottoman Empire continued to hold strong, and managed to help Oman suppress a Communist Rebellion there.

In Vinland, a revolution occurred in Cuba, and the fight for independence begun. Spain went on to attempt to crush the rebellion, while the Soviets and Brazilians had sent support. A few months later, Cuba managed to gain independence under a communist government. Mexico wasn't too keen of this, and launched the Bay of Pigs Invasion, which didn't work out well, as the Cubans had managed to repel their invasion. Puerto Rico also ceded from Spain and became Communist.

Back in Đại Việt, most of the Communists, including Hồ Ch? Minh, attempted to flee to Vietnamese R?o de la Plata in Ming, but were caught and arrested by the Vietnamese and Chinese navies. In the Khmer Empire, the Siamese and Monarchist forces managed to defeat the communist rebels there, and had captured Saloth Sar (Pol Pot).

The Space Race had begun between the Soviet Union, China, Bhārat, and Mexico, with the latter three working together. By 4655 (~1958), the Chinese, Indians, and Mexicans had managed to launch Sat?lite One, which was the first artificial Earth satellite. The Soviets, fighting to gain an upper hand, had managed to create and release Vostok One two years later, and Yuri Gagarin became the first human to explore outer space. Following this, the Chinese, Indians, and Mexicans begun establishing the Coyolxauhqui Program, aiming to go to Luna before the Soviets. Meanwhile the Soviets did however achieve another few firsts, such as the first dual-piloted flights, Vostok Three and Vostok Four, and also having the first woman and civilian in space, Valentina Tereshkova.

By the end of the 4660s, in Year 4668 (~1972), the Chinese, Indians, and Mexicans managed to get the first humans on Luna. Lu Xiangxiao, Rakesh Sharma, and Rosario Green were among those who landed and explored there. With the race to Luna having been a loss for the Soviets, they concentrated on other space projects, though soon the whole 'race' begun to settle.

-----

By the 4670s and 4680s (~1970s-1980s), the Cold War would loosen and Communism would be on a decline. Independence movements occurred in Portuguese Angola quite violently. When the corporatist authoritarian regime in Portugal was succeeded by the Third Portuguese Republic in 4675 (~1978), Angola had been granted independence by the new government. Angola would be the last African nation to gain independence for quite a long time.

In Year 4682 (~1986), Mikhail Gorbachev became the General Secretary of the Soviet Union, and made some major reforms. However it would lead to the instability of the nation, and finally, by 4690 (~1993), the Soviet Union had collapsed. Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan had gained independence, and the Soviet Union became succeeded by Russia. Ethiopia and Persia also saw the fall of the Communist governments, and were succeeded by a Democratic Republic and Monarchy respectively. Brasil experienced the Cathedral Protests in Bras?lia, which later led to a coup of the Communist regime and the establishment of a Federative Republic. The Communist governments that remained were Cuba and Puerto Rico.

Moving on to the 4690s (~1990s), with the Cold War finally ended, tensions had been eased worldwide. Especially in Asia, as the Taoist Bloc (China, Korea, and Đại Việt) and the Buddhist-Hindu Bloc (Bhārat, Siam, Khmer Empire, and Srivijaya) had  co-operated with each other.

Meanwhile in Japan, ZUN goes on to create the Touhou Project. The first game he releases, Highly Responsive to Prayers, stars Marisa Kirisame as the main character. Soon in the next game, Story of Eastern Wonderland, Shrine Maiden Mima and Ghost Reimu Hakurei were introduced. He then went on to make three more games until 4695 (1998), in which he took a break for a while.

By the end of this decade, the European Economic Community became succeeded by the European Union, and a new currency, the Euro, was introduced. Germany, Austria, Danmark-Norge, Finland, Netherlands, Portugal, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania were the first to adopt the new currency.

(World by 4699 (~2003).) (http://i41.tinypic.com/an07t5.png)

------

At last, the 4700s have arrived. In the first ten years of this century, the European Union gained new members. Among those are Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Spain, Poland, Sweden, France, Cyprus and Italy. These new members all adopted the Euro later on, except for Romania, Sweden, and Poland for now.

ZUN resumes to create more Touhou games. Reimu Hakurei and Mima, who had appeared in PC-98, never made an appearance in the Windows games. Rin Satsuki (introduced in EoSD) and Marisa Kirisame goes on to be the main two playable characters. A new Touhou game appeared between Ten Desires and Hopeless Masquerade that focused on Hinduism. With this, Hopeless Masquerade contained two additional characters that followed the Hindu faith.

This century continued on, and by 4757 (~2060), Albania, Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus had joined the European Union. All members of the union except those four had adopted the Euro. In Africa, most independent nations had merged to form the African Federation, except Egypt, Sudan, and Libya. In Asia, the last Burmese Kingdom and the Khmer Empire had merged into Siam. New technology was advancing decently, though the idea of Terraforming planets would still be decades away.

Meanwhile, rumours about life on Luna had emerged.

Meanwhile, rumours about life on Luna had emerged.

Ooh, here come the Lunarians!

As for the chart, perhaps put a link in the OP to a new, separate post, where you write and type all the countries in the format you had last post, with a post number when the country was introduced.

I wonder how HRtP was in this universe... Maybe Marisa was Air Jousting a gigantic Mini-Hakkero? Along with that, it would be interesting to see Rin's shot types... Maybe they're the same as Reimu's? And what does Rin do when there's not an incident?

Oh, the speculation that arises.

Sounds good. I shall post it once I'm done with the story (which will end next post, not this one). Another idea that I thought of last night, was that the end of each story post, I could add the county tables there for any new countries mentioned, and maybe some nations that gained new territory, an update for the old nation but including the new lands it gained. (Though that's something I could do in my next Touhou/Alternate History Mix).

HRtP is pretty much that in this universe. As for Rin Satsuki shot types, I was thinking a mix of Reimu and Eirin (though with the latter it would be toned down quite a bit) more or less. As for what Rin does when there's no incident, she would usually work in a hospital or something (since she's a nurse).

-------------

Travelling into the 4800s (2100s), technology continues to advance at an enormous rate. The European Union became succeeded by the European Federation as all the member nations had merged into one. All former European nations become states within the Federation. Russia and Kazakhstan remained out of the Federation for now, Switzerland expressed no desire to give up its independence, and the Dominion of Vilāyata (British Isles) continued to remain as a part of Bhārat. The Spanish and Portuguese territories in Africa, and Dutch Suriname in Ming, remained as part of their respective states and thus is included in the European Federation.

In Vinland, the Communist States of Cuba and Puerto Rico had finally fell, and were absorbed by Mexico. Soon, the rest of the Caribbean including Haiti and Dominican Republic, also joined with Mexico though as autonomous states.

In Africa, Libya, Egypt, and Sudan had merged into the African Federation. In Asia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan had merged into one nation, the Central Asian Union. Oman had merged into Arabia. The Kingdom of Nepal had merged into Bhārat.

Meanwhile in China, a Space Ship had been prepared, and Empress Seiga herself, along with a few Chinese officials, goes on to visit Luna.  Once there, Empress Seiga goes on to explore around Luna, but sees nothing so far. She films her visit, and after a few hours of searching, Seiga and the Chinese officials return to the Space Ship and head back to Earth. However, she makes plans to return there again.

By the 4880s (~2180s), Terraforming technology begins in production, starting in China, and later the rest of the World.

--------

Going through the 4900s (~2200s), Earth sees a few more nations merging into larger nations. Russia and the Central Asian Federation merges into the European Federation, which in turn is succeeded by the Eurasian Federation. In Ming, the French Guinea Republic merges into Brasil.

In Year 4958 (~2262), a huge celebration occurs in China, celebrating Empress Seiga's 1000th Year rule. Soon, Seiga goes on to make a special speech in Beijing, discussing and remembering China's past, and how powerful China had become.

Terraforming technology is completed by the last twenty years of this century. Maribel Hearn becomes scared by this, especially since she never got a chance to see the Lunar Capital.

Mexico, Bhārat, and China goes on and begins Terraforming Luna. However an unexpected attack somewhere from Luna had went on the destroy their attempts. News arrived quite quickly of this event, and had shocked the World Governments. Empress Seiga decides to travel back to Luna once again.

Upon revisiting, Seiga notices a huge defence that had built up on Luna. She was surprised to discover that people have inhabited on Earth's natural satellite. Soon, a Lunarian comes up and speaks out. "What gives you the right to invade Luna!? Who are you!?"

"I am Huo Qing'e, Empress of China. Why are you angered? The people from Earth just want to expand in space, including myself. Anyway, who might you be?"

"I'm Watatsuki no Yorihime, in charge of the Lunar Defence Corps. We are here to prevent Humans from invading Luna, especially you. If you so desire to colonise space, do it elsewhere. If you or other Humans dare try to colonise Luna again, there will be worse consequences!"

"Aye. Got it. I'm terribly sorry about this. Though I had suspicions there were life here, hence why I inspected the place earlier, but saw nothing."

"Hmm...well then. Now you know. Go on and warn other people back on Earth that there are inhabitants here, and tell them of my warning."

"I shall."

With this, Seiga goes back to Earth and has a meeting with the World Leaders in the League of Nations, warning them of Luna. The other leaders also takes the warning, and a amendment to leave Luna alone was passed.

--------

Continuing into the 5000s (2300s) and up to the 9000s (6300s). Maribel Hearn is relieved that the World Governments will not colonise Luna. China leads the world in Space Expansion and Colonisation, and the nation is renamed into the Chinese Stellar Empire (中華恆星帝國).

By the 7000s (4300s), the nations that remain are the Chinese Stellar Empire, the Buddhist-Hindu League (composed of Bhārat, Siam, and Srivijaya), the Afro-Eurasian Federation (composed of former European Union, Russia, Central Asian Union, Ottoman Empire, Arabia, Persia, and the African Federation), the Mexican-Brazilian Empire (composed of Mexico, Brazil, and French Guinea), Viet-Korean Empire (composed of Korea and Đại Việt), Japanese Empire, and Switzerland.  All nations by now have reached Type III Civilization on the Kardashev scale.

Empress Seiga, getting a bit tired of staying on Earth, decides to relocate to Neo-Nanjing (OTL HD 209458 b, an extrasolar planet), and continues to control China from there.

From here on out, new events would begin to spring up in the far future, some of which will be disastrous.

The final chapter is next.

Year 10,000 (~7304/7305) had rolled around. In this year, China experienced the 10,000 Year Bug. Some computers and software data had suffered quite a bit by this problem. However it was soon fixed and life continued on in China. Similar problems would occur in other nations that have yet to reach Year 10,000 in their calenders. Empress Seiga expressed her concerns and ordered for the computers and software data to undergo a major revision so to prevent future bugs, such as the Year 32,768 and 65,536 problems, from occurring.

Meanwhile Earth had gotten colder thanks to special technology that cools the Earth down to an average of ten degrees Celsius. However, by Year 22,695 (~20,000) Earth had undergone a new ice age. By then, all of the World Governments had moved their capital to a new location elsewhere in the Universe. The old cities of Amsterdam (Afro-Eurasia), Tokyo (Japan), Beijing (China), Delhi (Buddhist-Hindu League), Mexico City (Mexico-Brasil), Seoul (Viet-Korea), and Bern (Switzerland) become nothing more than provincial capitals for their respective countries. Population of Earth has also dropped quite significantly as many people go on to live elsewhere in the Universe. However, a good two hundred million people remain on Earth.

Gensokyo had grown to compromise Kamchatka Prefecture (ie Japanese lands in OTL Russia), Chishima Islands, Hokkaidō, and all of the Tōhoku Region. Minor skirmishes between Yōkai and Humans persist. Meanwhile Nitori Kawashiro begun a huge project that aimed to take all of Gensokyo and its inhabitants on an enormous Space Ship and relocate to another part of the Universe. It took roughly fifteen hundred years to complete, though once done, all of Gensokyo was able to set sail and went elsewhere.

Around four hundred million years later, the last of the people on Earth go on to move elsewhere. All the cities by then have been in ruins and fell apart due to earthquakes, movement of plates, and such.

Seven billion years later, seeing as the Sun had turned into a Red Giant and is slowly expanding, Watatsuki no Yorihime leads the Lunarians out of Luna and relocates to Titan. They also had stayed to see Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Luna being engulfed by the Sun.

One hundred trillion years later, the Great Empires from former Earth goes on to create new stars with their technology, as natural star formation had ended. By now, the Empires had managed to continue shaping the universe to their liking, and life will continue on forever, to no end.

Meanwhile in another universe, it is around the 580s, in the Sui Dynasty. Another day went by, and life went on as normal. Seiga got up and decided to visit Japan, and upon going through Kyūshū into Honshū, she noticed the Temples along the way in Kyūshū was not the same as the Temples on Honshū.

Seiga, quite curious, goes to see a Temple in Kyūshū, and notices that it is indeed, quite different. This Temple isn't a Buddhist Temple at all.

In this next scenario, the point of divergence is that the Hindu traders had made their way to Japan, and introduced Hinduism there.  Soon enough, Hindu culture makes its way though Japan, and Japan falls under Indian influence instead of Chinese.

Yay, sequel! With a ridiculously large time skip!

Although, the Empires of Earth did have some trouble with aliens, right? Considering they've been there for millions, possibly billions of years...

Oh, the speculation, if Hinduism was introduced first to Japan...

May the Gensyoko gods multiply!

Great fanfic. I can't wait for more!  :)
Title: Hindu Japan (Touhou/History Mix)
Post by: Karafuto on October 03, 2013, 12:11:15 AM
They did had some trouble with aliens along their expansion, and managed to make peace with some.

--------

Seiga continued to explore around Kyūshū to find some answers. After talking with a few locals, she found out that Hinduism had been introduced from Champa and other Hindu Kingdoms. Shocked in hearing this, she goes back to Honshū, and soon enough, she saw both Buddhist and Hindu Temples in the area. After a while of exploring, Seiga decided to head back to China for now.

Buddhism in Japan was slowly disintegrating. Introduced a few hundred years after the introduction of Hinduism, Buddhism at first managed to gain a foothold in a few parts of Honshū, but with the increasing Hindu influence, Buddhism begun to lose ground. It didn't help when Soga no Umako had made the acceptance of Hinduism, and later when Suiko had became the first Hindu monarch of Japan.

In Year 620, Kaku Seiga decided to move to Silla, having developed a plan. She soon went on to meet the King. "Greetings madame, what brings you in from China?" King Jinpyeong of Silla had spoke.

"Ah. Well, you see, I would like to help to unite the Korean Kingdoms under one ruler, so Korea could develop to be very powerful."

"Really? Thanks! So how much support will you send?"

"Ah, you are sort of mistaken. I'm not a diplomat from the Tang Dynasty or anything. I came here on my own free will. However I am quite powerful myself!"

"Hmm...fair enough then. I'll send out a few military support to help you out. Don't disappoint me now."

"No need to worry, I won't let that happen!"

With this, Seiga goes on to fight against Baekje and later Goguryeo, and attacks them by surprise. Their armies were no match for Seiga's power, and ended up getting easily crushed by her. Fifteen years later, Silla was able to move in and annex Goguryeo and Baekje.

Back in Japan, Hindu influence had grown greatly. The Japanese also had adopted the Sanskrit script to write their language. Buddhism has declined more and more, and by Year 700, only small pockets had remained. Japan also grew in strength, and begun expanding Northward, fighting against the Emishi peoples. Mononobe no Futo, feeling out of place in Japan, moves elsewhere to practice her Taoism in peace. She later arrives in Geochilsan (modern day Busan), and goes on to travel around Silla looking for a place to stay.

Going back to Silla, the Koreans have also grown in power quite well. Hinduism from Japan had attempted to spread via a few trade ports, but was unsuccessful in spreading as it wasn't able to compete well with Confucianism, Buddhism, and Korean shamanism, along with Korea being under heavy Chinese influence. The Koreans and Chinese would later become ill of their Hindu neighbours, and tensions between the Sinosphere and Hindu/Indian Sphere will rise...

With a greater, more powerful Korea secured, Kaku Seiga went back to the Tang Dynasty. She would keep both the Tang and Silla in check and would deal with possible rebellions and conflicts. After all, she didn't want Indian/Hindu influence to spread into the Sinosphere, and end up like Japan.

In Japan, most of Honshū was brought under control, except for the OTL Aomori Prefecture area, which was heavily defended by the Ainu. Not too long afterwards, the Ainu had gathered together and established the Kingdom of Aynu-Mosir, which compromised part of Northern Honshū, Hokkaidō, Karafuto (Sakhalin), the Chishima (Kuril) Islands, and the tip of Kamchatka. A few years later, the Ainu came in contact with Silla as they were expanding northwards. Looking for protection and aid in helping fend off the Japanese, the Ainu asked for an alliance with Silla. The Koreans took no time and had quickly accepted the alliance with them. Soon enough, news of the Ainu had reached the Tang Dynasty. Chinese diplomats were sent over there asking for an alliance, which they had accepted. The Ainu would become influenced by both China and Korea, later bringing them into the Sinosphere.

The Tang Dynasty sought to expand its influence elsewhere and begun expanding into Central Asia and Siberia, to bring more areas under the Sinosphere. Tibet quickly became a hotbed for conflict, as Chinese and Indians fought to expand their influence there. South East Asia also suffered a similar fate, mainly around the Kingdom of Dali and Vietnam.

By the 1200s, the Chola Dynasty managed to unify most of the Indian Subcontinent, except the areas where the Ghurid Dynasty had ruled, while the Tang Dynasty had defeated the Mongols and expanded greatly across Central and Northern Asia. The Japanese-Ainu Wars had been deadlocked with neither side gaining anything. The Indians went on to fight the Ghurid Dynasty, however China decided to enter the war on the Ghurid's side, making the war into a large stalemate. Despite China's best attempts, the Indians managed to make a breakthrough and went on to defeat the Ghurids.

In the 1220s, the Chinese, with the help of Seiga, managed to storm their way into Eastern Europe. Vladimir and Novgorod were quickly crushed, and soon a domino effect occurred for the other nations. The Chinese managed to expand all the way to Sweden, Poland, and Hungary. Parts of the Holy Roman Empire were also invaded and conquered. By this point, China had reached its greatest extent.

Chinese rule in Eastern, Northern, and parts of Central Europe would be one huge headache to deal with. Rebellions were frequent, and the other European nations made their attempts to push the Chinese out of the continent. Seiga however did her best to keep the conquered areas at bay, but over time, it became increasingly difficult.

Back in Korea, Futo decided that enough was just that, and went to speak out about this seemingly endless Chinese-Indian conflicts, and demanded peace between the two spheres. Mamizou also spoke of this situation in Japan, as did the Buddhists in South East Asia. At first, calls for peace were ignored, but eventually it would grow to catch on. About eleven years later, the Khmer Empire became the first to pull out of the conflict, followed by Japan, Aynu-Mosir, Srivijaya, and Champa.

By 1320, major protests and some rebellions against both the Chola and Tang Dynasty occurred in the respective nations. While the Chola had called for peace, the Tang Dynasty had refused and continued this 'Cold War'. Soon the Tang Dynasty had collapsed into a very bloody civil war.

The Chinese controlled part of Europe had greatly weakened, despite Seiga's attempts. She continued to fight against the Europeans, but soon became very exhausted. Realising she can't keep up defeating the rebellions and invasions, Seiga finally admits defeat, and she leads the Chinese out of Europe. When she got back to China, she seen it fell into civil war. Despite wanting to take part in this, Seiga had no energy to fight and went on to deal with whatever the result of the war came to be.

In 1345, the Tang Dynasty was finally defeated. China had shrunk and was limited to OTL China without parts of Tibet, but plus Mongolia and most of Siberia. The Ming Dynasty granted the minorities rights, and made peace with the Chola Dynasty in India. Following this, the Sino-Indian 'Cold War' came to a close and cooperation between both spheres would begin.

Sounds good. Though, should I move the introduction of the Hindu Japan timeline (which was posted in the same post of the ending of the Greater Chinese Empire timeline) to the post where I actually begun the new timeline, and link there? Or should I just link to the post where the first timeline had ended (where the new timeline had begun under it)? Also should I change the first post title as well to the current timeline I'm writing (and do that for each new timeline I write)?

On a side note, I've decided to do the tables of nations mentioned at the end of each timeline. It's easier to do it that way instead of putting it on the first post, and plus, some nations gain and lose territory over time during the timeline, so I don't want to spoil it for those who are reading it the first time.

-----

Back in Europe, some of the continent was reduced to nothing, even more so after the Black Death had came and went. Sweden had collapsed, and was absorbed by Norway. Finland had declared independence and begun to unite the other Baltic Finns around the area. What remained of the Russian states went to unite and form the Duchy of Novgorod-Moscow. The Holy Roman Empire had also collapsed, and some smaller German states were soon absorbed by larger ones. Poland and Lithuania went and merged to form the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The Teutonic Knights also collapsed into nothing, and soon Norway and Poland-Lithuania expanded into the area. A hate for China, especially Kaku Seiga, had emerged and became quite strong in Russian lands. Other parts of Eastern Europe saw something similar.

In Asia, most of the continent was at peace. Meanwhile the Ming Dynasty had discovered the New World by 1365, and begun expanding into Ālāsījiā (Alaska). The Majapahit expanded across Indonesia, and later into Australia. The Kingdoms of Hokuzan, Chūzan, and Nanzan had unified to form the Ryūkyū Kingdom, and expanded across the Ryūkyū Islands and later into Taiwan as well. Japan went on to colonise Hawaii and later discovered Nankaidō (South America), eventually expanding there as well. The Philippines were colonised mostly by China except for Mindanao, which was colonised by the Majapahit.

By 1470, Europe managed to rebuild itself, and in some areas, experienced a small population boom. Norway united with Denmark, and the nation was renamed Scandinavia. Finland continued expanding and soon annexed Estonia. Poland-Lithuania had emerged as a Great Power, as did Hungary. Back in China, after resting for quite a while, Seiga went back to help her nation, and aided them in taking out the Maya and Aztec civilisations in Vinland.

In 1492, Christopher Columbus had landed in Cuba and explored the area, and later found some Chinese settlers on the island. During his next three voyages, he managed to find more Chinese settlers in other parts of Vinland and the Caribbean, but found no such settlers in Nankaidō. Spain's attempts at colonising the Caribbean would fail, as the Chinese managed to successfully defend them off. Soon Spain went on to colonise Florida and parts of Southern Vinland not under Chinese control, and Venezuela in Nankaidō.

By the 1500s, the Spanish and Portuguese had arrived in Asia, and went to set up trade ports, They made no attempts to fight for land, as they noticed that the nations around here were quite powerful. Instead, they managed to sign trade agreements with India and Majapahit. The Portuguese later also obtained Macau from China in 1537.

When the Portuguese arrived in Japan in 1549, they saw a remarkable difference compared to its neighbours. The Japanese used a modified Sanskrit script to write their language, most of them followed the Hindu faith, and there was no sign of any Chinese influence. The Portuguese were quite confused of this, but at the same time amazed. The Portuguese continued on sailing northward, and landed in Hokkaidō. There, they met the Ainu people, and noticed that Chinese influence were strong there, they wrote their language with a modified Chinese Characters, and practised Buddhism and Taoism, along with their native beliefs. The Portuguese took note of their discoveries, and sailed back.

In Eastern Europe, the Duchy of Novgorod-Moscow had been renamed into the Tsardom of Russia, and begun an aggressive expansion into Siberia. Having been quite prepared for this campaign, the Russians went on to defeat anyone in their way quite harshly.

However, their desire for revenge would soon backfire. Horribly so.

The Tsardom of Russia continued its expansionist terror into Siberia, and soon the Russians reached and invaded Chinese Siberia. The Ming Dynasty didn't waste their precious time, and declared war against Russia. Quickly enough, Kaku Seiga flew to the scene and begun launching a huge counter attack against the invasion, and proceeded to push them out of Siberia. Along the way, Seiga did get hurt quite a bit, but had brushed it off. Once the Russians were pushed out of China, the Chinese continued to invade Russia itself.

Two years later, the Chinese once again reached Moscow. The city itself was heavily fortified, but that didn't stop them. Seiga proceeded to use a spell card and destroyed most of the Russian military. Seiga then headed to the palace and barged in. Tsar Ivan IV looked in disgust. "How could you manage to pass by the prepared invasions?"

"It was difficult, but I managed to defeat them with spell cards and danmaku. Anyway, this revenge was quite uncalled for. I know you Russians were mad about what happened about two hundred years ago, and I apologise. But going on to attack China after that event has been long over was unnecessary. We were sorry, can't you just move on from the past?"

"No. We Russians hate China, and especially you, very much."

"Well then. Will you surrender now, or should we go on to annex all your lands?"

"Try as you must, but the Russians will not tolerate and eventually revolt against your rule!"

"Right you are, and we will release some of Russia in due time. For now, we will occupy your lands and make sure you don't try anything like this again. Fear not, if it makes you feel better, we will leave behind an independent Novgorod Republic, but kept an eye on. If you're good and don't declare war, we might release some of Russia early and transfer it to you."

"Ugh, fine. I give in. No use to try to fight against a powerful person such as you."

"Much better. Now, you go relocate to your new capital. I said Novgorod for a reason."

Following this, Tsar Ivan IV had surrendered to China and relocated to Novgorod. Most of Russia except the Novgorod Republic became annexed into the Ming Dynasty. Seiga decided to stay in Chinese-occupied Russia for the time being.

Chinese presence in Europe once again caused some concerns. After a while, they found out that the Chinese are not interested in expanding any further, and only had annexed most of Russia because they attacked China. Tensions between the other Europeans and Chinese had lessened. However some hate towards Seiga herself still remained.

Meanwhile in the New World, China had managed to take over half of Vinland while Japan took over half of Nankaidō. Colonial Wars between China and Spain in Vinland, and between Spain and Japan in Nankaidō were not uncommon. The Spanish continued to try and take over parts of their colonies from time to time, though by the 1650s, the Spanish were forcibly pushed out of the New World for good. On a side note, the Dutch managed to achieve victory in the First and Second Anglo-Dutch Wars, and had pushed the English out of New England, leaving them with only Canada.

Peace remained in Asia for the most part, and a large Khanate had formed in Central Asia, covering most of said area. Meanwhile India (formerly the Chola Dynasty) went on to conquer the Maldives and Sri Lanka. All of Taiwan finally became under rule of the Ryūkyū Kingdom. By the 1720s, the Industrial Revolution emerged in the Khmer Empire, and begun to spread from there.

Tensions between Finland and the Novgorod Republic had rose as the Russians wanted their former lands held by Finland. Soon enough, by 1730, a small war broke out between both. Scandinavia and Poland-Lithuania had quickly sided with Finland, while China only sent supplies. The war only lasted a year and resulted in a Russian defeat. Seiga spoke out against the Novgorod Republic and threatened to take action if they tried again. The Russians decided to take the warning and backed down.

Elsewhere in Europe, Germany became divided by three large states: Hannover, Bayern, and Prussia. Hungary had declined in power slightly, while Poland-Lithuania stood strong and powerful. Spain held grudges against China and Japan, and had begun plotting another Colonial War. Scotland continues to maintain its independence, having not merged with England back in 1707.

Another few wars are around the corner, and independence movements have yet to appear all over Vinland and Nankaidō.

In 1755, the Corsican Republic declared its independence from the Republic of Genoa. It remained unrecognised for a while until 1769, in which it defended itself successfully against France. It was later invaded by France again in 1780, in which the French managed to succeed this time, and annexed the nation.

Meanwhile the Revolution broke out in France nine years later. A small revolution broke out in Chinese Russia as well, but was put to rest by Seiga. Shortly afterwards she had security increased and would put down any other revolutions or protests quickly before it could spread.

Soon in 1803, the Napoleonic Wars started up as France and her allies (Spain, Naples, Scotland, and Hungary) begun invading and conquering some of Europe. The Dutch Royal Family had fled to New Netherland, while the Portuguese Royal Family fled to Brazil as France and Spain invaded Netherlands and Portugal, respectively.

Hannover, Bayern, and Prussia had a hard time with France and soon was knocked out, one by one. Austria was conquered by Hungary, while most of England was conquered by Scotland. Taking advantage of this situation, the Irish and Welsh rebels took arms and revolted against English rule successfully.

In 1809, France and Hungary launched a huge invasion of Poland-Lithuania. Not wanting to let France and friends to go on invading China, Seiga herself declared support for Poland-Lithuania, and flew to help them out. After a few months of fighting, the French and Hungarians retreated from the area and a peace treaty was signed.

While Poland-Lithuania managed to win the battle, most of the war was a victory for French and allies. As a result, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Hannover, Bayern, Prussia, and Northern Italy was annexed by France; Portugal was annexed by Spain; Austria was annexed by Hungary; and the rest of Italy was annexed by Naples. Ireland and Wales merged with Scotland to form the Celtic Kingdom. England was reduced to a rump state, and barley could manage to hold onto Canada and Guyana.

In Vinland, New Netherland declared independence with the Dutch Royal Family in rule. Brazil also did the same, with the Portuguese Royal Family in rule, and all former Portuguese colonies were also transferred over. New Netherland and Brazil's independence was quickly recognised by the Asian powers.

Later, in 1820, Spain declared war against China and Japan once again, to regain land in the New World. Mamizou Futatsuiwa, hearing about Spain's actions, goes on to help the Japanese and convinces both Japan and China to invade Spain itself. They both do just that, and soon Spain itself is invaded. Brazil joins in on this war, hoping to regain Portugal. France and Italy declares neutrality, not wanting to be conquered themselves. The war ends in 1822, with Brazil gaining Portugal and Galiza (Galicia), Japan and China gaining Northern and Southern Spain, respectively. Madrid is split between China and Japan.

In the 1840s, the Scramble for Africa takes place and soon the continent is divided between France, Italy, India, China, and Japan. In Asia, Korea undergoes a Meiji Restoration-like event. The Kingdom of Aynu-Mosir also quickly industrialise with the aid of China.

By the 1880s, independence movements occurred in Vinland and Nankaidō. Here's a list of nations that became independent:

In 1885, Reimu Hakurei became the first Prime Minister of Japan, and she didn't create the Great Hakurei Border. However her rule wasn't very pleasant, and had launched an invasion of the Ainu nation. Quickly enough, Mamizou went to Tokyo to talk to Miss Hakurei. The Raccoon soon barged in the office, quite angrily. "Why are you invading the Ainu?"

"It's because I want their land, especially their slice of Honshū."

"But that part of Honshū had been Ainu for centuries."

"It won't stop me, especially since its bothersome."

"You do realise that if you continue this invasion, Korea, and China will intervene. They will launch an invasion of Japan, and occupy it."

"I can deal with them myself."

As they speak, the Koreans and Chinese had begun aiding the Ainu, and a few fleets begun invading Japan. Lots of Japanese protest outside of the Prime Minister's Official Residence.

"Yeah, I didn't think so. This war seems to be very unsupported by the people."

"Eh, I'm not leaving."

"Oh, you will, weather you like it or not."

With that, Mamizou begun fighting Reimu. After a lengthy battle, Reimu was defeated and fired from her job. The invasion of the Ainu ended and a status quo ante bellum was signed, along with Japan paying reparations to the Ainu, Korea, and China.
New elections for Prime Minister were held, with Itō Hirobumi becoming elected for the position.

A few months later, Seiga had heard of Japan's attempted invasion of the Ainu, and nodded her head in disappointment. Brushing the small conflict aside, she went back to keeping an eye on the Russians.

Meanwhile, tensions arose in the British Isles.

It functions like Our Timeline's Republican China's (Taiwan) government, which has a Unitary Semi-Presidential Constitutional Republic.

-------

In 1907, the Celtic King was assassinated by an Englishmen, which directly leads to the Celtic invasion of England. However the English managed to hold the invasion, and begun pushing them back. France decides to join in on the war and invades England from the Channel. The war only lasted for a few months and with that, the remains of England were annexed by France.

Later, in 1915, Serbia declared war against Hungary, hoping to gain the Serbian lands it held from them. Hungary however managed to brush it off and begun invading Serbia. Montenegro and Bulgaria then entered the war to help Serbia, while France and the Celtic Kingdom entered the war in support for Hungary.

The Russians in Chinese Russia, not wanting to see Serbia become annexed by Hungary, urged the Chinese Prefectural Government to do something. Eventually Seiga gave in and allowed Russian volunteers to partake in the war. Soon enough, the Novgorod Republic also was able to send aid to Serbia. However even with the additional support, it didn't help by much. Within four years, Hungary managed to conquer Montenegro and Serbia. Bulgaria soon surrendered and the war was brought to an end.

(World by 1920.) (http://i42.tinypic.com/64pc2e.png)

Uneasy peace soon followed throughout Europe. In 1921, China decided to give a few lands back to the Novgorod Republic, including Moscow. However the remaining former Russian lands remained as a part of China, and was divided into three prefectures. Romania and Bulgaria both signed an alliance. Poland-Lithuania soon abandoned the monarchy and became communist, as did Hungary. France however was not trusting of the communist regime in Hungary, and the alliance between them was made null and void.

Another European War broke out upon Hungary's invasion of Romania and Bulgaria in 1937. Greece and Poland-Lithuania joined the war on Hungary's side, while France, Celtic Kingdom, Novgorod Republic, and Italy joined on Romania-Bulgaria's side. A  few months later, China was dragged into the war as Poland-Lithuania launched a major offence against them. Seiga went on to deal with the invasion, and begun taking them out.

This war lasted a good five years and resulted in a major defeat for the communists. Most of Hungary was annexed by France, while some of it was given independence as Yugoslavia. Poland-Lithuania had ceded lots of land to both Novgorod Republic and China, and became a democracy. A mini Cold War between France and Russia-China also emerged, fighting for control over Europe.

Through the 1950s and 1960s, India, Japan, Brazil, and China gave independence of their African holdings. A list of the independent African countries are as follows:

Meanwhile Chinese and Japanese-held Spain is also given independence, and both are merged to form the Spanish Republic.

By 1980, major protests and rebellions occurred all over France. Soon Haiti, Morocco, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Netherlands, England, and Switzerland declared independence while French held Italy merged with Italy. France managed to keep the remaining African territories it had, but had given independence to it in 1985.  Italy gave independence to Libya, while Italian East Africa was ceded to Ethiopia.

With the Netherlands finally independence once again, the Dutch Royal Family travelled back to their home, and New Netherland became a part of the Netherlands.

Hmm... Not a lot of activity in the Americas....

And looking back in previous posts... Reimu was prime minister of Japan for a while, so will ZUN have Reimu as a staring character in HRtP?

My mind is fried.

The Twentieth Century was pretty much peaceful for them, and there was really nothing much to get them involved in anything (I think).

Yes, she'll be a playable character at first, so she remains the starting character in HRtP.

-------

In the late 1990s, ZUN creates the Touhou Project. Soon, Highly Responsive to Prayers is released, featuring Hakurei Reimu as the main character. However Reimu would not be a very popular person, as she was remembered long ago for attempting to invade the Ainu during her short time as Prime Minister of Japan. However, in the next four games, she would be a playable character, though by the Windows Era, Reimu was replaced by Rin Satsuki.

The series main theme is Hinduism (with Japanese characteristics), while Buddhism. Taoism and Confucianism are also featured. By 2013, the whole series has over two hundred and fifty characters.

In 1993, the European Union was formed by Scandinavia, Finland, Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Yugoslavia. Netherlands, England, Portugal, and Spain joined the union in 1999, Albania, Russia, Hungary, and Italy in 2004, Russia and the Celtic Kingdom in 2007, and France in 2013. China was made an observer as they had land in Europe.

In 2004, the Vinland-Nankaidō League was formed between the nations on Vinland and Nankaidō, and is structured like the European Union, though slightly more unified.

By 2040, Kaku Seiga decided to resign from being Governor of Ukraine Province, and later went on to run as Premier of the Ming Dynasty in 2044. She managed to hold that position ever since. Meanwhile in Korea, Futo manages to become elected for Prime Minister.

Soon by the 2150s Terraforming technology was completed, and the various nations went on to expand across the Galaxy. Luna was spared from being colonised, due to it being defended by the Lunarians.

In 2300, the First Human-Extraterrestrial War took place between the Sinosphere (composed of China, Korea, Ainu, Ryūkyū, M?izhōu, and Y?ngzhōu) against the Gliese Empire (Extraterrestrials from Gliese 581), which unfortunately ended in a slight Gliese victory. However the Sinosphere later launched a second war against them, this time with support from the European Union and Japan, and managed to win.

Later on, the Earth was moved far away from the Sun, into the Outer Solar System. With that, Earth was not engulfed by the Sun many years later, and the Human nations continued to operate from the Planet.

The following is a table mentioned in the Hindu Japan timeline. Any defunct nations are marked with a *. All nations on this list are as they are during the Modern Era (~2000s-2010s). In another completely different universe, it's Year 587. Kaku Seiga had remained within the Sui Dynasty and doesn't come to Japan. Meanwhile, Mononobe no Moriya was working to counteract Soga no Umako's efforts. Soon enough, the Battle of Shigisan would occur, and is where the next point of divergence took place.
Title: Isolation (Touhou/History Mix)
Post by: Karafuto on October 10, 2013, 03:19:07 AM
In July of 587, the Battle of Shigisan occurs, between Soga no Umako and Mononobe no Moriya. With enough pure luck and strategy, Mononobe no Moriya had managed to defeat Umako. However, his forces had ways to go from there. Though with the Soga clan taking a huge hit, they begun losing some of their influence.

Moriya went on to lead his forces onward, continuing to fight against the remaining members. Eventually he managed to vanquish the rest of the Soga clan, and confronted Prince Shōtoku. After a few minutes of silence, both went on to fight each other. It went on for hours in a perpetual stalemate, but Moriya managed to launch a final attack, and destroyed Shōtoku. After this defeat, Moriya went on to install Prince Anahobe on the throne of Emperor.

With the Mononobe now ruling Japan, they begun to isolate the nation and issued the Sakoku policy. The Mononobes also worked to prevent any further spread of Buddhism, along with stopping the increasing Chinese influence. This brought concerns to Emperor Yang of Sui, and attempted to send a Chinese Diplomat to the island nation. However, the diplomat was refused entry, and soon arrived back to China. Emperor Yang expressed his disappointment, and hoped that this isolationist policy would be only temporary. By the time of his death, Japan remained isolated.

In 618, the Sui Dynasty had fallen and was replaced by the Tang Dynasty. In Korea, the smaller Korean kingdoms were invaded and annexed by Goguryeo. Japan continued to be isolated, but took notice of a possible Korean threat. Thus, they went on to build their military and patrolled the waters around Japan.

The Tang Dynasty later attempted to send diplomats to Japan, but they weren't able to even land. Instead, they were stopped by the Japanese Navy, and forced to turn back. Soon, Seiga herself decided to go to Japan on her own free will, and proceeded to fly over the navy patrols unnoticed. However, upon landing in Honshū, she was almost immediately attacked by the Mononobe clan. Seiga proceeded to block the attacks and tried to talk with them.

"Hey there, why the heavy resistance? I mean no harm."

One of the clan members spoke in anger. "Yeah? Regardless, we are here to keep our nation free from foreign influence. Visitors like you are not allowed here!"

"You shouldn't be worried at all. I'm not here to fight."

"Just leave now!"

Disappointed, Seiga went on to leave Japan for now. She would not give up though, and begun plans to try and convince the ruling Mononobe clan to reopen their nation.

Later, in Year 730, Seiga travelled back to Japan again, this time with a few Tang Dynasty ships. They took another route and had landed the ships around Koshi Province. From there, the Seiga and a few Chinese Diplomats made their way into the nation, though a few kilometres in they were soon attacked by the Mononobe clan. She made her attempt to speak with them again. However after a while, the talks were unsuccessful and she, along with the Chinese Diplomats, went to return to their nation.

In Year 840, Seiga returned to Japan yet again. This time, she went alone, and flew directly to Japan's capital, which was Heian-kyō. This was a bit of an unwise move on her behalf, and was soon heavily attacked by the Mononobe clan. While she managed to block most of the attacks, she got herself injured in the process. Not wanting to retaliate, she attempted to reason with them. The clan said nothing and continued launching their attacks. Sad and frustrated, Seiga flew back to China.

Mononobe's continued isolation of Japan would soon suffer heavy consequences in the future.

A few years later, the Mononobe clan launched a huge invasion northwards, soon bringing the rest of Honshū under their control. With that, the Japanese Navy begins patrolling around the Tsugaru Strait, and military is improved overall to better withstand an invasion.  However as time went on, Japan was lagging a bit behind in technology and are less advanced than China and Korea. To attempt to improve this issue, the Mononobe clan scouted for valuable resources to build their own weaponry from.

Across the Sea of Japan, the Tang Dynasty was already succeeded by the Song Dynasty. Both Song China and Korea went on to conquer the Liao Dynasty and was split between both nations. However, Chinese-Korean relations would soon turn cold once Korea fell under a feudal military dictatorship in the early 1190s. Conflicts between the two nations rose, and skirmishes were not uncommon. By the time of the Mongol Empire, both nations temporarily set aside their issues and went on to fight against the Mongol hordes. After winning over the Mongols many times, and their collapse in 1294, the Chinese-Korean tensions rose once again. Kaku Seiga also tried to calm relations between the two, but to no avail.

In the 1300s, the Mononobe Clan begun a new expansion campaign, and invaded the island of Hokkaidō. They fought against the Ainu with their semi-improved weapons quite well, and managed to secure the island by 1380. The remaining Ainu fled to Karafuto (Sakhalin) Island, and to Kamchatka. Natural resources on Hokkaidō were soon dug up as well.

Korea's feudal military dictatorship was interrupted in the 1340s, when the King of Korea attempted to restore a civilian government. This however failed, despite being backed by China, and by 1353, Korea was under a new feudal military dictatorship. Tensions between the two nations grew even worse, and a few wars broke out every now and then. Luckily, China was able to win every single battle with the help of Seiga. Peace efforts, however, was not successful, until at least 1468, in which a treaty was signed between China and Korea, which would end the constant skirmishes and wars.

By the 1500s, Portuguese ships arrived in Asia, and in 1542, a Portuguese ship landed in Japan. Within a few minutes, the Portuguese ship was quickly under fire, and soon sunk at sea as they attempted to flee. A few years later, some more Portuguese ships arrived, but suffered the same fate. Japan's contact with the West went quickly cold, especially with their continued isolation.

Japan's defences would face a tough challenge as Korea launched an invasion of the nation in the 1580s, which was partially successful. With much better weaponry and enough strength, the Koreans managed to at least capture Kyūshū, and annexed it. Mamizou was also unsuccessful against pushing the Koreans out, and was unfortunately later assassinated by Yi Sun-sin at sea in one of the battles. However, she managed to at least prevent the Korean advancement further into Japan, for now anyway. Shortly after the Japanese loss, some Daimyo across the nation begun to question and grew discontent with the Mononobe rulers. In China, many begun to fear Korea's power. Even Seiga herself was having the chills when she heard the Korean success against Japan.

Nevertheless, the Mononobe Clan put harsher restrictions and continued to have Japan isolated. In the early 1600s, the Tokugawa Clan led a huge rebellion against their rule, and soon enough, a few other clans followed. This sparked the Japanese Civil War which would last for quite a while. The Mononobe Clan did all they could to try and suppress the revolt, but they were inevitably outnumbered. The ruling clan would finally collapse in 1643, when the Mononobe Shogun was captured and destroyed. The Tokugawa Clan then took control of Japan, with Tokugawa Iemitsu becoming the first Shogun. He went on and ended Mononobe's policies of isolating Japan, along with reopening the nation.

The new regime and the reopening of Japan brought much joy, especially to China. Soon a few trade agreements were signed with the Dutch and Chinese, and Japan's foreign relations would also improve. People were even allowed to visit the nation. Soon Seiga made her visit to Japan, and went to meet with the Tokugawa Clan.

Korea's military regime wasn't too fond of Japan's reopening, and relations between the two remained tense. Meanwhile, Russia's expansion across Siberia would eventually meet up with China, Korea, and Japan.

In the 1700s, the Russians had managed to reach the Pacific Ocean, and expanded in the rest of Siberia that wasn't under Korean control. Meanwhile the Koreans by now had Karafuto (Sakhalin) Island and Kamchatka under their domain, along with Taiwan. Japan had improved greatly, and now with trade, the Japanese have access to better weaponry. Unfortunately, they became semi-isolated again during the later stages of the Tokugawa Shogunate. The Ming Dynasty stands strong with Seiga's support, and prevented the Manchus from taking control of China.

In 1712, the Koreans established their first overseas colony at OTL Vancouver Island, and was named Hwacheon (Korean: 화천). However the colony didn't expand by much as it soon came in contact with New Spain and later on Canada, though it managed to occupy a decent portion of the Pacific Northwest. Once Mexico declared independence in 1821, Korea signed an alliance with them.

Korea soon became the first nation in Asia to industrialise, starting in the early 1830s. The Ming Dynasty followed suit, having their industrialisation start in 1840, followed by Siam in 1847. With this, they were able to fight against the other Europeans who attempted to take over nations near their area, especially in South East Asia, where the French tried to take Indochina, and the British tried to take Burma. Kaku Seiga managed to scare the Europeans into not taking any ports or land from China. Meanwhile in Vinland, the Texas War of Independence broke out. Korea went to support Mexico, and helped them defeat the rebellion. Later in 1866, the Koreans had beat the United States to the punch and managed to purchase Alaska from Russia.

With the increasing European colonialism in Asia, the Koreans had grown sceptical of them. In 1868, an armed encounter occurred between Korea and Japan at Rokkō Island. The incident was a Korean victory, and soon led to the signing of the Korea-Japan Treaty of 1870, which was one of the unequal treaties that Japan signed from them. Hakurei Reimu decided that something much be done, and soon managed to convince Emperor Meiji to have a new government installed.  By 1884, the Tokugawa Shogunate was dissolved and Emperor Meiji declared the establishment of the Empire of Japan. Elections for Prime Minister were held, with Reimu managing to win the election.

During her reign as Prime Minister, Hakurei Reimu went and made reforms and begun to modernise and industrialise the nation. This move brought a shock to the Koreans, and the military government decided to move their plans to annex Japan much sooner.  When Reimu refused to sign any more treaties with Korea, the Koreans launched another invasion of Japan in 1900. The Shrine Maiden tried her best to fight against the invaders, but was unfortunately destroyed in the Siege of Kyoto. The war would last for four years, and ended with the Korean capture of Tokyo in March 1904. Following this, Japan was fully annexed by Korea.

The Korean annexation of Japan brought horrors to its neighbours. The Chinese, despite being at peace with them, were getting increasingly worried. Seiga grew even more afraid of Korea greatly, especially with Mamizou and Reimu out of the picture, though she kept herself together. The Russians also were a bit fearful, though continued to maintain cautious relations with them. Mononobe no Futo went on to leave Japan and move to China.

Much fear even arose in Gensokyo itself, being in the heart of Japan. Despite the Great Hakurei Border not being established, they managed to remain free from Korean rule for now. Yakumo Yukari begun to gather an Yōkai Army and prepared them to defend against any possible invasions. News Reporter Aya Shameimaru went on to investigative and make recordings of this event, and would record further events as years went on.

Chinese-Korean relations once again turned sour during the 1910s, though peace between them remained, though a bit uneasy. In 1914, the First World War broke out, and Korea went on to side with the allies. All German Pacific Territories were captured by them, and were able to keep them after the peace treaty was signed in 1918.

In the early 1920s, tensions were quite high in Asia at this point. The Ming Dynasty was beginning to weaken quite a bit. At the same time, Korea begun to turn its eyes on South East Asia and China. It wouldn't be long before it all erupted.

The Ming Dynasty continued to weaken and by 1926, the nation fell into Civil War. The Koreans took an advantage and decided to invade the rest of Manchuria. Soon the Koreans established a puppet state, the Empire of Manchuria, in 1928 out of the captured Chinese lands. Seiga was disgusted at Korea's actions, but continued to focus on fighting off the Chinese Communists, though she would launch an attack on Korea if they invaded again. In 1936, Korea launched a new invasion of China, setting off the Sino-Korean War. Soon enough, the Communists, the Kuomintang, Kaku Seiga, and Mononobe no Futo went on to fight against the Korean invasion.

Meanwhile in Europe, the Spanish Civil War took place, and resulted in the Republicans winning with enough support. Germany annexed Austria and the Sudetenland. Germany also signed the Anti-Comintern Pact with Korea and later, Italy.

In 1939, the Second World War breaks out. In Europe, the war progresses similarly like OTL. In Asia, Korea continued fighting against China to some success. In the meantime they launched an invasion against the European colonies, which was a success. Soon puppet governments were set up in Indonesia and Sarawak (with the latter having composed all of British-held Borneo) while the Territory of Papua was directly annexed into Korea. Burma went on to join on Korea's side, and both invaded Siam.

Siam would fall in 1940, followed by Vietnam, and puppet governments were also established there. Korea also went on to conquer the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1941. Back in China, however, both Futo and Seiga were very successful and managed to push them out. Korea, not wanting to lose any more military, went to negotiate a peace treaty to China. Seiga and the Chinese Government agreed to it, but demanded that the puppet of Manchuria be dissolved and annexed back to China, and also some land would be ceded. The Koreans hastily agreed to the offer and ceded Korea-occupied China back to them along with a small piece of Korea's own land. Now that Seiga was no longer fighting the Koreans, she did wish Futo good luck in liberating Japan from them.

With that, Futo moved back to Japan, and went on to help the Japanese Liberation Army fight against Korean rule. She managed to achieve some success, but the Koreans managed to gain the upper hand. Futo wouldn't give up however, and continued to launch surprise attacks against them.

In 1943, Korea went on to invade Sri Lanka and later the British Raj. While Sri Lanka fell easily, they had a tough time invading India and were met with heavy resistance. After the British victory at the Battle of Kochi (Cochin), the British and Indians went on to push the Koreans out of India.

Meanwhile back in Japan, a Korean Military General managed to stumble across upon Gensokyo. The Korean General went to have a look around and soon headed toward Youkai Mountain. Not too far away, the Misfortune Goddess had spotted the person, and went to block his path. The Korean General, thinking this might be an ambush, went to try and shoot her. However she dodged it, and went on to launch an attack. Seeing as this was no ordinary person, the General went on to run away and left Gensokyo.

That same General went to report his finding to the Korean Government, and soon a Korean Army Division was sent to investigate. The Division went into Gensokyo, and looked for anything suspicious. A few went down the path to Youkai Mountain, and soon approached the same Misfortune Goddess. "Just who are you?", one of them asked.

"I'm Hina Kagiyama, the Misfortune Goddess. What brings you here? Are you lost?"

"No, we're investigating. You see, one of our Generals had stumbled upon this land, and was attacked."

"Oh, I know who you're talking about. I've blocked his path. I don't know what his issue was, and proceeded to try and shoot me. When I tried to fight back, he fled."

"So, you're the one who tried to ambush the General."

Just when the military personnel was about to draw their weapons, some Yōkai came out of nowhere and attacked them by surprise. Soon, Yukari had appeared as well. "Looks like the time has come.", she spoke.

Hina nodded her head as she realised what was going on.

Within the next few minutes, other members of the Division were also attacked by Yōkai. News of this reached the Korean Government, and ordered an invasion of this strange land. Within a few hours, the Imperial Korean Army and Air Force begun attacking Gensokyo.

This event would be the complete turning point for Korea, and would lead to their downfall.

Wow, the Koreans are attacking Gensyoko now?

I expect some Korean-based characters in ZUN's games....!
Title: Isolation (Touhou/History Mix)
Post by: Karafuto on October 14, 2013, 08:08:40 PM
Within an hour after the invasion, the Gensokyo residents managed to destroy most of the Korean Army. Tanks were quickly destroyed by the spell cards and danmaku. Meanwhile the Air Force were easily destroyed by Nagae Iku. Huge causalities for the Korean side were climbing in numbers while on the Gensokyo side, it was quite small. A few days later, the Koreans were finally pushed out of the lands. However, Yukari didn't stop there, and her, along with the other Gensokyo residents, went on to liberate Japan from the Koreans.

Within minutes, the Gensokyo residents fought against the Koreans in Japan. Soon, many Japanese residents went to help the Japanese Liberation Army and attacked many Korean government buildings and military bases. A week later, all of Honshū was freed, and another week later, the rest of Japan was freed, including Kyūshū. With that, the island nation declared independence, and a new government was installed.

However, it wouldn't end there. The Gensokyo residents would help the Allies and take out Korea for good. The British, with huge help, managed to take Sri Lanka back, as well as the Territory of Papua. Soon the Korean puppets were invaded, and said governments were overthrown. Burma, a Korean ally, was taken over and put under temporary British Rule. By 1944, the Korean Empire was falling apart. Korean Alaska and Hwacheon were invaded and occupied by Canada while the former German territories in the Pacific that were owned by Korea are now occupied by Australia. The Philippines was also freed and put under British rule.

In September of that year, the British, Spanish, Australian, Canadian, Indian forces, along with Yakumo Yukari, Nagae Iku, Mononobe no Futo, and Fujiwara no Mokou launched an invasion of Jeju Island, and from there, into the Korean Heartland itself. It was tedious at first, but with enough strength and power, they managed to gain a foothold. The forces continued to march onward, and a few months later, the Battle of Seoul took place. This was one of the longest battles yet, though within a week the city was captured. However, the government had already relocated to Kaech'ŏn.

Finally, by December of 1945, most of Korea fell under the Allied forces, and only a few Northern parts of the Korean Peninsula were left. On the fifteenth of the month, Prime Minister Hong Myeon-hui decided to give in and officially surrendered. With that, the War in Asia came to a close, and Korea became occupied by Britain, Spain, Japan, Yukari and Futo, and was divided into four zones.

Meanwhile in Europe, the Soviets, British, French, and Mexicans had defeated Germany by January 1946, and the Second World War officially ended. Soon, most of Eastern and Central Europe had communist governments installed. Austria also had a Communist Government installed, and East Germany compromised of the same territory as OTL but including Bayern (Bavaria). Berlin was divided between Britain, France, Mexico and the Soviets.

Back in Asia, Korea remained occupied until 1953, when it was released. However, the occupation of Korean Alaska and Hwacheon would continue until 1973, in which it was returned to them. Jeju Island and Busan remained occupied by Futo and Yukari until 1978 and 1980 respectively. The Nansei Islands were ceded to Japan. Burma was freed from British rule in 1955, and the Philippines were annexed back into Spain. Indonesia, Sarawak, and Hawaii were given independence in 1950. In China, the Communists were defeated by 1947. However, the Monarchy was later dissolved in 1949, and the Ming Dynasty was succeeded by the Republic of China. Chiang Kai-shek was elected as the first President, while Kaku Seiga was elected as the first Premier of China.

-----

An alternate history book was published in January 1962 called The Man in the High Castle, which details a world had Korea, Germany, and Italy won the Second World War. In this book, the Koreans managed to successfully conquer China, along with eliminating both Seiga and Futo, and also successfully annex Gensokyo, which is renamed Hwansang. With that, the Koreans go on to conquer the Indian Sub-continent, Oceania, South America, Southern Africa, and the Asian side of the Soviet Union. Italy conquers the rest of Africa, and Germany conquers most of Europe, leaving Hungary, Romania, Croatia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Finland, and Portugal independent. The United States was invaded in 1950, and defeated a year later, by both Korea and Germany.

Continuing on in the book, the World is divided mainly between Germany and Korea. A major core element in the book is the planned Korean strike against Germany, known as Operation Cosmic Mind. The Koreans have also gained the "Powers from Hokkai" and thus the ability to take out Europe easily. Meanwhile deep in the Underworld, the few remaining Gensokyo residents reside in the Former Capital, where they are safe.

-----

The Cold War raged on, with Mexico and Western Europe on one side, and the Warsaw Pact on the other. However, despite the Soviets managing to gain Bayern and Austria, their influence Worldwide was quite weak, especially since the Communists failed to gain a foothold in China. Soon enough, the Soviet Union had begun to weaken starting in the early 1970s. In the 1980s, the Warsaw Pact fell apart, Germany reunified in 1985 under a democracy, and the Soviet Union collapsed by 1989.

In the 1990s, ZUN creates the Touhou Project. Highly Responsive to Prayers is released in 1996, with the main character being Marisa Kirisame. Reimu Hakurei appears as a Ghost, and is only seen in the PC-98. In the Windows Era, Rin Satsuki becomes the new playable character. Ten Desires is also a bit different, as Soga no Tojiko is a Shikaisen instead of a Ghost and Byakuren Hijiri appears as the Extra Stage Boss instead of Mamizou.

Korean shamanism and Korean mythology also make an appearance, and is the main focus in the Touhou game Morning Calm, which was released between Ten Desires and Hopeless Masquerade. A few Korean-based characters also exist, one of them being Choi Hyo-yeon (최효연), who is a Dokkaebi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dokkaebi).

By the 2010s, Korea's relations with other East Asian nations are calmed and nowadays friendly. Relations with the British Commonwealth are also friendly, and relations with Mexico still stands strong.

(World by 2013.) (http://i39.tinypic.com/zspiu0.png)

Not much happens from here on out. The nations go on to expand across the Universe and such. Futo became the Prime Minister of Japan since 2000 and remained in office forever.

--------------

In another universe, it's the First Century. In the Kingdom of Funan, a time machine had appeared out of nowhere around the capital of Vyadhapura. The person to walk out of the time machine was Byakuren Hijiri. She begun walking around the nation, and soon settled there, and later teaches others about magic. This is where the point of divergence takes place.

Elsewhere, the Roman Empire doesn't collapse, and goes on to expand across Europe and Asia.

I wonder what will happen when the Romans invade Gensyoko.....

Perhaps their upgraded iron shields will bounce off the danmaku? Maybe.

In the Fourth Century, thanks to Byakuren's teachings, a majority of the population in the Kingdom of Funan can use magic. By 450, the Kingdom was dissolved, and was succeeded by the Khmer Empire. Buddhism also quickly becomes the dominant and later, official, religion of the nation. With the support of Byakuren, they go on to expand in South East Asia.

Meanwhile, the Roman Empire continues to expand, and manages to conquer almost all of Europe except Scandinavia, as the Norsemen manage to prevent them from taking the area. Soon the Vikings go on to raid the British Isles, and achieved major success. By 476, the Romans lost the Isles to them, and decide to end fighting against the Norse. With that, the Romans continue expanding in Africa and Asia, and eventually run into China and India.

The Romans quickly launch an invasion of the weakened Southern Qi Dynasty in 500. This brought attention to the Northern Wei Dynasty, and soon many military forces went up against the Chinese-Roman Border for defensive purposes. The Romans also continue pushing into India, though soon the small Southern Indian Kingdoms went to unite and begun to resist their invasion. This would cause a stalemate for many years to come.

Shortly after bidding her family farewell and faking her death, Seiga went on to move out of Roman China and fled to the Northern Wei Dynasty. Once there, she would pledge her support for the nation and defend it at all costs. In the Korean Peninsula, Goguryeo went on to conquer Silla, Kaya, and Baekje, unifying Korea.

The Romans took note of the Northern Wei's defence system, and begun to develop another plan. Soon in Year 870, they go on to invade Taiwan, and make their way up the Ryūkyū Islands. From there they go on to invade Japan. This invasion was quite unexpected, and the Japanese begin to defend themselves from the Romans. Despite the best attempts, the Romans made a breakthrough and continued on into Japan. Soon some of them make their way into Gensokyo, without knowing it. They then ran into Yōkai, and tried to reflect their attacks with the Iron Shields. At first, the shields had managed to reflect some of the danmaku, but within a few minutes, the shields finally shattered, and the Romans got hit. They then decided to retreat from the mysterious land and warned the others of this. Some Yōkai went on to chase them, and later pushed the Romans out of Japan.

With this plan being largely unsuccessful, the Romans decide to focus on other areas. They try their luck and go on to invade the Khmer Empire, but upon entering, they felt something quite unusual. Surely enough, the Khmers, go on to fight against the invasion with magic and danmaku. The Romans then went on to retreat, but later, the Northern Wei Dynasty took an advantage and invaded Roman China with aid from Seiga. By Year 900, the Romans were pushed out of East Asia by both the Khmers and Chinese. At the same time, Unified India pushed them out of the Indian Subcontinent as well.

With the Roman campaigns in Asia becoming mostly unsuccessful, they try to retrain their remaining holdings. They also make peace with China, Khmer Empire, and India. Back in China, Seiga was quite suspicious of the Khmer's powers. She went on to visit the Khmer Empire, and eventually ran into Byakuren. After a small meeting, she found out that Byakuren had taught the citizens of the empire magic. She was quite surprised by this, and went back to her homeland. Seiga went on to do something similar, and spread Taoism along with magic across China.

In Year 915, the Harshavarman I of the Khmer Empire visit India, and suggests a merge between the two Empires. The Maharani (Queen) Kōkilānadigal of India agrees, and soon a Royal Marriage takes place. By 923, the Indian and Khmer Empires unite into one huge nation, the Indian Empire. In China, the Northern Wei Dynasty was succeeded by the Song Dynasty.

Still a bit shaken by the Asian campaigns, the Romans decided to focus on rebuilding, and peace ensured for now.

Note to self: If getting showered by danmaku, get a stainless steel plate, hold in the direction of danmaku, and GTFO!

Another great post. And HOW did the Romans actually get  to Taiwan without boats?

A map update would be nice, as my incompetent mind can't imagine the true form of the Roman Empire.

The Romans used the Chinese Ships, and also built their own, to get to Taiwan.

-------------------------

In Year 1000, Leif Ericson had managed to discover Vinland. Soon, a few ports were established and the area was also colonised. The natives didn't take kindly to the settlers and launched an attack. However, later on, the diseases from the Old World had affected the natives greatly, and soon were also defeated by the Norse.

Back in Asia, China, Korea, Japan, and India had all expanded greatly. Meanwhile, Kaku Seiga continued teaching the Chinese and Koreans about Taoism and magic, while Byakuren went on to taught the new citizens in India about magic. In Japan, the Japanese begun fearing about the rising powers, and begun to isolate themselves a bit. Mamizou, taking note of this, goes on to help calm the citizens.

In the Roman Empire, many Romans and Greeks made many new discoveries in science. With this, the nation went on to create new technologies, though this didn't include guns. Some of these discoveries also spread to the Norsemen via spies, and inspired them to research their own. Later, somewhere in Eastern Europe, a new nation had arose, the Novgorod Republic.

(World by 1100.) (http://i40.tinypic.com/314eb0o.png)

Everything was fine and well up until 1200, when the Romans begun expanding again and invaded the Persian Rump State. Within two years, the nation was quickly annexed into the Empire. With the Romans bordering China and India once again, the military from both nations lined up against the borderline and a huge defence line was formed. Knowing what happened last time, the Romans decide to let the two empires be, for now.

Nevertheless, the Roman Empire had sent spies in China and India. One of the spies managed to bring back the secrets of Gunpowder, which would help the Empire greatly. There were also reports that the Chinese now use a strange power, similar to the Khmers. This brought concerns over the Roman Government, and a few begin to reconsider the choice to invade the nations. Despite this, with the secrets of Gunpowder, the Romans go on to make better weapons, hoping to stand a chance against the magical empires of the East.

In 1225, the Novgorod Republic and the Norse come into conflict over controlling the Finnic tribes. A small war ensured and resulted in Novgorod's defeat, leaving the Norse to have full control of Finland.

In Asia, China and India continue expanding, and soon both begin expanding into Vinland and Australia respectively. Technology and science continues advancing as well, and are also slightly ahead of the Romans. However weapon technology suffered somewhat as the people can use magic and danmaku to fight. Japan had remained the only Asian nation where the people didn't use magic (excluding Gensokyo), up until 1250. Relations between the four Empires are very friendly, though China and India are occasionally rivals. The Four Empires also maintain decent relations with Arabia. Seiga and Byakuren are friendly with each other to an extent.

In Europe, relations between Rome and the Norse are uneasy, and the occasional skirmish happens, mainly on sea. Norse relations with Novgorod are also not good, especially with the war over Finland a while back. Rome's relations with the Novgorod Republic are decent, and both have recently signed an alliance against the Norse.

An uneasy peace continued, however major conflicts and disasters would brew quite quickly.

A few decades later in Year 1350, the Romans, now with better weaponry, go on to invade the Eastern Empires and the Norse. The Novgorod likewise joins in on the war on the Roman side, helping in taking out the Norse. The Norse were semi surprised by this invasion, but begin to hold them back. The Eastern Empires however, have a challenging time, but manage to turn the tide against them.

The Romans try to march onward, to no avail. Soon, a few Romans try to sneak into China and India from another way, with the intention of destroying the Royal Families of both nations. However, they were spotted quite quickly and were defeated by the militaries in the areas. This did cause major concerns, and China and India decided to work together to take Rome off the map for good.

Seiga and Byakuren went on to aid in the war, and both led the Chinese and Indian armies into Roman and Russian lands. The Norse were beginning to lose ground, though they remain victorious at sea. The Romans attempt to launch an invasion of the British Isles, but most of the ships were destroyed by the Norse, and those that did land were easily defeated. A few reinforcements from Vinland had arrived, and fought to push the Romans and Novgorod out of Scandinavia.

This was would drag on for quite a while. However the Norse, Indians, and Chinese were successful in the long run. Seiga led the Chinese army through Russia quite well, aside from the harsh winters. By 1365 Seiga reached the capital itself, and using a spell card, the city was quickly levelled within minutes. Soon the Chinese met up with the Norse, and both went on to divide Novgorod between themselves.

In Asia, Byakuren led the Indian army through the Mesopotamia region, and from there, into Anatolia. By 1366, all of Roman Asia was under control of India. Soon Byakuren reached Constantinople, and the sacking of the city took place. Within a week, Constantinople was taken over by the Indians, and was renamed Byakurentium. From there, Byakuren begun invading the Balkans, while another Indian army invades Roman Africa.

Back in Europe, the Norse managed to capture the Lowland areas, portions of France Germany, Poland, and the Baltics. The Chinese stormed through from Eastern Europe all the way to Iberia. The Balkans, Hungary, and Austria were overtaken by India. Finally, by 1390, Seiga and Byakuren, with their armies, invaded the Roman heartland itself- Italy. As Seiga was entering Italy from the north, she created puppet states along the way. When Byakuren invaded Italy from the South, all lands captured were immediately annexed into India.

A few weeks later, Seiga and Byakuren had finally reached Rome. The remaining Romans tried everything they could to keep them from taking Rome, but to no avail. Within a few hours, they were defeated by both China and India, and Rome itself was in ruins. The remaining surviving Senate had surrendered, bringing an end to the Forty Year War.

As a result from the war, the Roman Empire ceased to exist, and its lands were divided between the Norse, China, and India. Meanwhile, the many puppet states Seiga created, she decided to merge all the small states into three large puppets: the Kingdom of Lombardy, the Republic of Venice, and the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. She mentioned that it would be annexed into China eventually, however. Both Royal Families in China and India decided to abdicate, and soon Seiga became Empress of China while Byakuren became Empress of India.

In Vinland, China and the Norse had also ran into each other around Canada. Japan also established their own colony around Baja California, and went on to colonise Central Vinland. A few weeks later, South Vinland (OTL South America) was also discovered, and was colonised. By 1620, both continents had been fully colonised by China, Japan, the Norse, and India. The rest of Africa was split between India and China.

Technology and science grew at an enormous rate, and many inventions appeared much earlier than OTL. An example was the Telephone, which was created in China in 1630. The Incandescent light bulb was invented in India around 1525.

By the 1700s, a Three Way Cold War emerged between China, India, and the Norse. Relations between the three nations grew stale. Seiga and Byakuren nowadays are bitter enemies with each other, and both constantly compete. Arabia went and declared neutrality. Korea would remain aligned with China. In Japan, the government was divided between deciding to align with China, or declare neutrality.

Mamizou had felt the tensions, and knew that nothing good would come from this.

The tensions between the three empires continue, and skirmishes are very frequent along the borderlines. Seiga decides to merge the three Italian puppet states into one, forming the Republic of Northern Italy and establishing Genoa as the capital.

In Year 1820, an incident occurs around the Spratly Islands led to a Chinese ship being sunk by an Indian torpedo, which led to the First Sino-Indian War. Within seconds, the Chinese marched into Indochina, and danmaku battles occurred between both sides. Large stalemates ensured, though the Chinese managed to take an advantage in South East Asia while the Indians took an advantage in Central Asia and the Himalayas. The Italian Puppet meanwhile managed to take the islands of Sardinia, but could not advance into the Italian Peninsula nor Sicily. In South Vinland, the Chinese grabbed Chile from India successfully, while the Indians took some of Chinese Africa. This first war would end in 1823, and both China and India annexed the lands they gained.

This peace was a very short one, as a few months later after the war ended, a new incident occurred around Madagascar, which quickly sparked the Second Sino-Indian War. This time however, the Norse decided to participate and secretly aid the Chinese side. Despite this, it didn't made much of a difference. The Chinese pushed back into Central Asia, and also begun taking Laos. In Europe, the Indians manage to take Portugal, while the Italians took Sicily. In South Vinland, the Indians regained Chile, and took some of Chinese Argentina. The Chinese manage to push back the Indians in Africa this time, though not by much.

The Sino-Indian Wars would then continue on and off every now and then, with both sides losing and gaining land. The Norse occasionally supported either China or India as well. However, this also led to wars between the Norse and Indians or Chinese, depending on what side the Norse took in the last Sino-Indian War. The Italians never manage to take the rest of the Italian Peninsula, while Sicily and Sardinia switched between Italian and Indian rule. Seiga and Byakuren themselves would not participate in the wars, but did the planning of a few military offences, while the rest were taken care of the Military Generals.

In 1885, Hakurei Reimu doesn't bother with creating a border around Gensokyo. She goes on to become elected in the Minister of Defence in Japan.

These wars between the three empires soon came to a slow halt. In 1910, the Norse had conducted their first detonation of a nuclear device in an isolated area of Nunavut. Shortly after the event, Seiga and Byakuren would establish their own nuclear projects in their nations. Soon, by 1928, the Chinese detonated their first nuclear device around the Semipalatinsk Test Site. The Indians detonated their first nuclear device around 1930, at the Pokhran Test Range. Shortly after this, China, India, and the Norse begun to stockpile in heavy numbers. Launch sites were also set up across the nations as well.

In 1940, Mamizou decided to go on a vacation, and went to visit Cambodia. During her stay in Vyadhapura, she ran into a Time Machine. Curiosity got to her, and soon she decided to get in, and went on to travel into the future.

-------

The Time Machine had arrived in Year 2300. As Mamizou had stepped out, she noticed that there was nothing around her. Taking note of this, she went on to explore. As she flew around South East and South Asia, Mamizou noticed that a majority of cities and towns had disappeared. Any few areas that survived formed small to decent sized nations. Also notable was a large Maratha Empire covering a third of the Indian subcontinent, which was ruled by a certain Tiger Yōkai.

Along the way she stopped in Arabia, which grew to be a major power in West Asia, and went unscathed. Around here, Mamizou found out that a nuclear war took place between the large three empires over 315 years ago. Shocked by this, she continued exploring elsewhere. She made stops in Europe and Africa, and noticed a few small survivor nations over there, most notable being a Unified Italy.

When Mamizou toured Vinland, she also found that plenty of cities and towns were left standing, mainly in the Japanese held areas.  In a few cities she seen, some had been populated by Yōkai. From here, she made her way into Oceania, and then into East Asia.

Shortly after landing in Taiwan, Mamizou noticed a decent population in the area. Apparently, Taiwan had successfully been spared, and went on to declare independence as a Republic. She toured Taipei for a while, before moving on.

The Raccoon arrived in the Mainland at Fujian province. After another investigation, she finds out that parts of China had somewhat recovered, under a Communist Government, and this recovered nation ruled roughly around OTL East, South Central, and North (minus Inner Mongolia) Regions of China. However actual rule over throughout was tenuous and uneasy. Mamizou went on to visit Hefei, which was the capital of the country. Once there, she seen a Chinese Gate Guard, along with a Jiang Shi, which happened to be the main leaders of Communist China.

Continuing onward, Mamizou made her way into Korea. She was surprised to see that the nation stood strong, despite taking a huge hit from the nuclear war. Some of the cities were rebuilt, while some remained abandoned. From there, the Raccoon entered Japan. While the island nation was spared thanks to its neutrality, it suffered quite a bit due to the radiation coming from both China and Korea. After looking around, Mamizou went and headed back to the Time Machine.

---------

Back to 1940, and the Time Machine ended up in Sado this time. After experiencing a future that had went through a nuclear war, the Raccoon decided to plan to end this Three Way Cold War once and for all.

Peacefully of course.

Anyway, nice job. How do you write so fast?

Do you have a month's worth of posts stored as text documents hidden somewhere on your hard drive?

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Also, story suggestion:

Seiga returns to China, and expands to Europe. A thriving Roman Empire gets into contact, and the Romans and Chinese decide to peacefully annex both empires into the Sino-Roman Empire! While the Empire has a few decades of expansion to conquer the entire Afro-Eurasian continent, the Americas have the Incan and Aztec Empires expanding and making an alliance on both North and South America, and end up causing the World War of the Empires at around 1000 CE, when the Incan-Aztec Alliance decide to take Taiwan and other Pacific islands!

How's that?

I spend some of the day writing a part of the storyline, and by the end of the day I usually post it. Any ideas or thoughts I come up with, I add to and type as I go along. There is a few occasions that I don't post at the end of the day, and I just save everything I typed so far on a notepad, and the next day, I work from there then post.

I don't write up the next parts offline then post it. After I posted a part of the story, I don't continue on until the next day.

That is an excellent suggestion, and I'll keep that in mind for the next timeline. Thanks for the idea, I appreciate it! :D

-----------

Years went by as usual, and nuclear stockpiles continued to grow. The Norse however were a step ahead of both the Chinese and Indians in some aspects, and manage to establish a base on Mars. However spies from the other two empires had managed to copy some of their plans and showed them to the governments.

In 1967, a conflict occurred between India and the Lunarians, when attempting to set a base on the Moon. A small danmaku fight ensured, which resulted in a stalemate for a few months. After a while, a treaty was signed, which let the Indians to keep their base, but any further establishments of any kind of base by any Earth nation will not be allowed and result in another war. This meeting was recorded live to the Governments of Earth, so they could take note of this warning. A few days later, Byakuren sent Shou to the Indian Moon Base just in case another conflict rises.

In 1970, the Chinese were able to get a step ahead of both and begun establishing bases on some of Jupiter and Saturn's moons. She also gifted the Italian puppet the Saturn moon Mimas, and encouraged them to build a base there, in which they did. Seiga also hired Hong Meiling to keep the Chinese bases on Saturn and Jupiter's moons in check.

On September 26, 1983, in a small military town located in Chinese Eastern Europe, reports of a few intercontinental ballistic missiles from the Norse and India to China was detected by the early warning computer. Taking note of this, the officer goes to report the attack. Soon Chinese missiles launch towards India and the Norse, which causes the other two nations to do the same. A World War commences, with Arabia and Japan declaring neutrality, and fighting begins. Mamizou goes back into the time machine and flees.

With a few hours, most of the World is destroyed by many of the nuclear devices, and Billions die worldwide of this fateful event, many more due to radiation. A few hours later during a large danmaku battle, Seiga and Byakuren also die to radiation, and both fall from the sky, crashing into the Himalayas. Korea suffered a partial collapse, and a small civil war broke out. Japan remained united, though a bit unstable, as radiation spread there. Even Gensokyo suffered a bit from the radiation.

Reconstruction went on over the years since then. By 2100 Korea was reunified, and the government clung onto the nation tightly so it doesn't fall apart. Also in this year, the time machine appeared in Sado, and the Raccoon went on to find Nitori. Soon, she met with her and asked if the cause of the nuclear event could be investigated. Nitori agreed, and built a few mechanical robots, which were sent to China to find out exactly how it broke out. A few years later, with enough investigation the mechanical robots concluded that a false error report was the problem, and had came from a military base within Chinese Europe, known as Serpukhov-15. Mamizou took note of this and thanked Nitori. With this, the Raccoon travelled back in time once again.

-------

Travelling to September 10, 1983, Mamizou disguised herself as a Chinese Officer, and went to China. Soon she met with a Chinese General that assigned her to go to Serpukhov-15, and keep track of the nuclear early-warning system there. Sixteen days later, the same false warning appeared, and Mamizou reported it as such.

With the nuclear war averted, Mamizou went to work out her plans, and begun to improve relations between the three nations. After a few years, she managed to convince the Norse signed a deal of peace and cooperation between India and China. Relations between China and India remain cold, mainly because Seiga and Byakuren dislike each other. This didn't stop the Raccoon from trying, however.

From here, Mamizou went on to have one on one meetings with both Byakuren and Seiga themselves. When asked about the other, both had refused to do anything to improve relations and emphasised that they were rivals with one another. The Raccoon tried to talk of ways to fix this, but they neglected. Soon both leaders stopped meeting with her.

Seeing as talking with the leaders themselves not working out too well, Mamizou went to discuss to the parliaments of both nations, though she had to disguise herself to look like one of them. After a while, the parliaments of China and India considered having peace with each another, and this soon became a popular topic of debate. Protests would occur a few years later desiring cooperation between the two nations and to end tensions once and for all.

In 1994, huge protests took place in many populated cities from Lisbon to Beijing, and Belgrade to Delhi. The parliaments themselves also constantly bugged the leaders to consider their choices. Within a few weeks, both Seiga and Byakuren finally gave in, and went to meet each other in Vyadhapura. After a moment of silence, they went to set aside their rivalry and forgiveness was exchanged. The two went to sign a treaty, finally ending the Sino-Indian Cold War, and bringing cooperation between the nations. Nuclear stockpiles were also beginning to be disassembled worldwide.

Meanwhile, in the Chinese bases on some of the Saturn and Jupiter's moons, Hong Meiling begun planning to take the bases under her control.
Title: Magical Empires (Touhou/History Mix)
Post by: Karafuto on October 23, 2013, 02:31:49 AM
Sometime in the 2000s, Meiling went to execute her plan. She begun influencing the Chinese bases across the Moons of Jupiter and Saturn and spread ideas of independence. Slowly but surely, it became popular, and within a few decades, a revolt occurs. With that, Meiling quickly takes control and goes on to cede from China, and forms the People's Republic of Saturn-Jupiter.

A few days later, Seiga received the message about the secession. She does not recognise it, and goes on to send a few fleets to bring them under her control again. Thus begins the Chinese Civil War.

As the fleets were on the way, Meiling had already launched a few of her own ahead of time. Both fleets meet up around Mars, and a battle ensures. It lasted quite a while, but the Communists had luckily managed to win this round. With that, they continue on further, and soon encounter another fleet near the Moon. However, in this next battle, the Communists ended up losing, and the Republicans flew on.

Seeing as her first wave of attack having been flawed, she goes on to lead the second fleet in the next battle. Both the Republicans and Communists soon meet up between Mars and Jupiter, and begun fighting. This time, the Communists decided to use spell cards every chance they get, making the battle a bit more difficult. After a while, Meiling managed to gain the upper hand, and soon led her forces to Earth.

After defeating a few more fleets, the Communists manage to make landing in Chinese Philippines. The fight however was more difficult, though with Meiling's help it wasn't as bad. Within a few weeks the Southern Philippines fell to Communist forces, and continued on to capture the rest. From there they launch an invasion into Hainan and Taiwan, and large danamku battles occurred at sea. The Republicans manage to use their spell cards flawing the Communist ships.

After a while, Seiga herself went on to help the Republicans, and begun tracking down Meiling. Mamizou offered to lend a helping hand to the Hermit, which she accepted. The two begun fighting alongside the Republicans, and pushing the Communists out. A week later, the Philippines were captured and brought back under Seiga's rule. Meiling went on to flee back into space, hoping to stop further advancement.

As the Communist forces were fleeing, both Seiga and Mamizou followed in pursuit in a Republican fleet. Back in space, Seiga took out much of the enemy's fleets, and within a few days, only one fleet remained, which contained Meiling. She led them out of the Solar System, and the pursuit took to other parts of the Milky Way Galaxy. Seiga got sick of trying to capture the fleet, and went on to take it down. It was difficult, as Meiling had driven the ship quite well, dodging the attacks as much as she could. Seiga went on to open a door, and got into a small UFO. Another door of the Republican fleet opened, and the Hermit in the UFO continued to chase the Communist fleet.

The chase continued, and soon led out of the Milky Way Galaxy, into other parts of the Universe. It didn't last long, as Seiga launched a few targeting Missiles from the UFO at the Communist ship. Meiling tried to dodge the attack but it was no use, and within seconds the Missiles hit the fleet, and a huge explosion occurred, destroying it. With this, the last of the rebellion was finally defeated. Seiga flew the UFO back into the Republican fleet, and along with Mamizou, travelled back to Earth.

Later In 2300, Byakuren and Seiga decided to merge both of their nations together, and established Chindia. Northern Italy gained the rest of the Italian Peninsula, thus uniting the nation. A few years later, Korea merged into Chindia, leaving Earth with only Four nations left (or Five if Italy is accounted for). The Buddhist Magician and the Hermit became the best of friends forever.

----------------------

In another universe, it's Year 618, and a few points of divergence takes place. Kaku Seiga arrives back to China, and aids the Tang Dynasty in expanding. Within a few years, the Tang grows in power decently, and manages to vassalises a few Indian states as well, expanding Chinese influence.

In Europe, the Roman Empire flourishes, and manages to expand decently.

Meanwhile, in the New World, a few civilisations grow in power, while in Australia, a small empire is formed in the South East Area.

Yay, suggestion taken!

And for some reason, a picture of Seiga in one of Nue's large UFOs grinning crazily while shooting UFO danmaku while chasing Meiling down keeps appearing in my head.

Title: Sino-Rome (Touhou/History Mix)
Post by: Karafuto on October 25, 2013, 04:47:28 AM
The Tang Dynasty continues expanding throughout Asia. By the 740s, they managed to take South East Asia, most of Siberia, most of India except the Central and South, Tibet, and Central Asia. Goguryeo went to merge into China in their own free will, and proceed to bring the other Korean states under Goguryeo's rule. Meanwhile in Europe, the Romans begun expanding more into West Asia and Africa, and fought the Vikings around the British Isles. With enough luck, the Romans manage to defeat the Vikings around there, and begun making their way across the Lowlands, and soon into Denmark.

In 770, Seiga led China into Eastern Europe, and soon runs into the Roman Empire. Within a few days, diplomatic relations were established between the two, and an alliance was also signed. They went and aided each other in their conquests. A few years later, both the Chinese and Romans managed to defeat the Vikings and annexed Scandinavia. The remaining Vikings fled to Iceland and Greenland and built up huge defences there, though they were soon conquered by 800. In the 810s, South India was conquered by a Chinese invasion from the North, and the Roman invasion from the South. The Maldives and Sri Lanka were also conquered in the campaign.

By 840, both Empires went to unite together, and formed the Sino-Roman Empire. From there, they continued expanding across Afro-Eurasia together. Along the way, they meet some heavy resistance from not only tribes, but small empires as well. One of them was Srivijaya, which had pushed the Chinese out of Indonesia and invaded some of their South East Asian holdings.

In the meantime, the Koori Empire in Australia grows as they unite more tribes. They also begin building small boats, and soon one of them travels to New Zealand. Findings of this land was immediately reported, and became colonised a bit. The island of Tasmania was also founded and taken over as well.

In the Americas, the Mayans had a few minor issues with the Aztecs over parts of Central America. It was taken care of by a few treaties and deals, though after a while both of them united into one large nation. After the unification in 855, the Aztec Empire expanded into the rest of Central America, the Caribbean, and also headed north, taking the rest of Mexico and Southern United States. In South America, the Wari Empire is soon succeeded by the Incas after having taken much of OTL Peru, Ecuador, Northern Chile, and portions of Bolivia.

Back in the Old World, the Sino-Romans manage to conquer more of Africa, and defeating some small, yet powerful, empires that formed. Seiga focuses on invading Srivijaya, pushing them back into Indonesia, and going on to defeat them. The Philippines, Taiwan, and the Ryūkyūs are also conquered quite quickly within months. Japan went on to built their military, especially the navy, quite heavily and were more than ready to defend themselves. The Japanese also gained the rest of Honshū, Hokkaidō, and Karafuto (Sakhalin) Island along the way.

By the 950s, all of Afro-Eurasia, except Japan, was under rule by the Sino-Romans. Seiga went on a visit to the island nation, and shortly upon entering, she ran into Mamizou. The Hermit decided to ask her if Japan could possibly join the empire as an autonomous region. The Raccoon went and declined, saying that the nation is strong by itself and can defend quite well. Disappointed, Seiga flew back to China, but not before stating that they would regret the choice.

In the New World, the Koori Empire by now has covered all of Australia and New Zealand. In the Americas, the Incans dominated all of the Southern continent, while in the Northern continent, the Aztecs grew even more, and have reached the Canadian border by 930, and took the remaining part of North America by 989. An alliance between the Aztecs and Incans was also signed in 970.

Japan went on to colonise and take plenty of small Pacific islands, including Hawaii. The Incans also started their Pacific expansion, starting with the Gal?pagos Islands. Eventually, by the 980s, both nations would run into each other around the Marquesas Islands. As Japan was beginning to take over the area, the Incans launched an attack against the Japanese. It was successful, and Japan was pushed out of the islands. Tensions quickly followed, and a few skirmishes occurred elsewhere in parts of Polynesia. This would quickly erupt into a lager war, soon enough.
Title: Sino-Rome (Touhou/History Mix)
Post by: Karafuto on October 27, 2013, 01:23:17 AM
The skirmishes in Polynesia continued, and soon spread to Micronesia. In Year 1000, as the Incans continued to expand across the Pacific Islands, they launched an attack on Kiribati. A few days after the attack, Japan had declared full out war against them. The Aztecs quickly joined on the Inca's side, and begun aiding in the conquests. Another Incan fleet had landed in Sino-Roman Papua Island (New Guinea), and launched an invasion from there as well.

This attack took Sino-Rome by surprise, as they were not prepared. They are dragged into the war, and begin fighting against them. However the Incans and Aztecs manage to fight well, and continue pushing through the Malay Archipelago. Within months they made their way to Taiwan and Singapore, and manage to take the latter in weeks. With the Incans and Aztecs right on the doorstep, Seiga goes to participate in the war and begins fighting them. However, both empires also begun invading Sino-Rome from the Atlantic side, and had invaded Greenland and Africa. To go even further, the Aztecs invaded Sino-Roman Siberia via Alaska.

The war was now being fought in a few different fronts. In the Pacific Side, the Aztec invasion of Siberia went well, and they continued to push further with a bit of resistance. At the South East Asian front, Seiga managed to fight the Incans out of Taiwan, and flew on to the Philippines, where she engages in even more fights. However, the Incans landed in Peninsular Malaysia and made their way to Krung Thep (Bangkok), where a huge stalemate occurs. In Japan, Mamizou arrived in Karafuto and was prepared to deal with the Aztecs once they reached the area.

On the Atlantic Front, Greenland was more or less easy to take. Iceland was more tough to take due to the Vikings, but the Aztecs successfully took the island. Soon enough, the Aztecs launched an invasion of the British Isles, as well as Portugal. The Sino-Roman military was decently prepared to defend the areas in question. In Africa, both the Aztecs and Incans gained a decent ground in parts of the Southern Area, but are soon approached by a blockade. Nonetheless, both empires manage to continue on.

After a few months of fighting, the Incans were pushed out of the Philippines by Seiga. Continuing from there, the Hermit flew on to Indonesia, seeking to cut off their invasion. She landed at the Maluku Islands, and proceeded to take out a bunch of enemy ships with a spell card. After a while, she managed to take the islands, but unfortunately it didn't hinder their route by much. The Hermit continued fighting against the enemy in Indonesia, but as she was doing so, the Incans launched a new invasion of the Philippines. The Chinese navy went on to block and hider their attempted reinvasion, and started a brief stalemate at sea.

Meanwhile in North Asia, the Aztecs continued on and took more of the region. They also launched an invasion of Japan, starting with Karafuto. As expected, Mamizou went and fought them off, preventing them from gaining a foothold. As she was doing that, another fleet went around and begun invading Honshū, at the Kantō region. However, this was a bad mistake, as the well prepared Japanese military destroyed the Aztecs there quite easily, and the navy took out most of their ships as well. A few more Aztec fleets arrived in Shikoku and Kyūshū, but met the same fate.

In Europe, the Aztecs had barely taken Ireland and Scotland, but continued facing difficulties in advancing due to the heavy blockade by the Romans. Portugal also had been taken by the Aztecs, but at a heavy price. These occupations would not last long however, as the Romans launched huge offences. Within months, the Aztecs was pushed out of Portugal and the British Isles. They also attempted to invade Norway, but their ships had been destroyed by the Roman and Viking fleets.

In Africa, the both Empires continued to advance quite fine, at least up until Angola and Zambia. From there, more and more resistance was met, slowing down their invasion. While the two Empires won plenty of battles early on, their success would begin to run out. They go on across the region, barley enough, but are finally stopped at the Congo border. At that point, the tides were turned, and the Romans begun to fight them out of the area. The Aztecs and Incans tried their best, but lost more and more battles as time went on.

The Pacific continued to be mostly deadlocked, but was going to break. Mamizou and the Japanese manage to foil the Aztec invasion quite well. In South East Asia, many reinforcements from India had arrived, and begun fighting the Incans out of Krung Thep, and went on to push them off out of the region. Shortly after, huge battles occurred in Indonesia, with the Incans losing most of them. Seiga continued fighting as well, and eventually enough, the Incans were pushed out of Asia. Some Chinese fleets went on to aid the Japanese in fighting the Incans in the Pacific, and helping Japan regain the islands.

With South East Asia and the Malay Archipelago secured, Kaku Seiga went to fly to Siberia, to deal with the Aztecs. However along the way she seen that a few forces had reached the Manchurian Region. The Hermit used another spell card and had destroyed the Aztec forces there. She then continued on fighting the Aztecs in Siberia, and begun to kick them out of Asia.

The war continued on for years. In the long run, the Sino-Romans and Japanese had achieved great victory in dealing with the Incans and Aztecs. The Aztecs were soon pushed out of Iceland and Greenland, while the Incans were pushed out of the Pacific by the Japanese. Siberia was reconquered by Seiga and the remaining Aztecs fled back to North America. In Year 1045, the Japanese with Chinese aid managed to defeat the Incans at the Marquesas Islands, and the area being brought under Japanese control.

It wouldn't end there, and the Romans went on to invade Qu?bec, Seiga invaded Alaska, and Japan invaded the Gal?pagos Islands. After a few weeks however, both Empires begun to sue for peace. Both Sino-Rome and Japan decided to accept, and the war came to a close in Year 1048, and a treaty was created. In the treaty, the Inca Empire was able to keep the Gal?pagos Islands, but had to give up claims on any other Pacific Island, and the Aztecs had to cede Alaska to Sino-Rome, along with both having to pay reparations for the war. The treaty was signed, and peace ensured for now.

Thanks for pointing that out, I've corrected the mistake.

--------

In the Year 1050 begun the Pax Sinica-Romana Era. The nation was in relative peace, and the economy was flourishing. Science and Technology was also seeing huge advancements. Meanwhile in Japan, some of the Pacific Islands, like Palau, was made into a navy outpost and a military base. Mamizou also became Shogun of Japan, and was promoted as such by the Emperor.

(World as of 1050.) (http://i43.tinypic.com/2lv1lpj.png)

In the Aztec and Inca Empires, not all was well. Some wanted revenge, while others doubted risking another war. In the meantime, contact with the Koori Empire was established by the two empires, and a trade agreement was signed as well.

As time went on, the two Empires begun plotting for their next attack. Invasion routes were planned and mapped out, along with trying some new routes. Militarisation of the Aztec-Chinese border at Alaska also took place. They also sent a few spies to Sino-Rome, to see what they are developing and building. Reports would be brought back, and the two Empires would try to keep on par with them.

By the 1300s, Sino-Rome underwent an industrial revolution, and soon spread to Japan. The Incans and Aztecs later had their own industrial revolutions by the 1400s, and the Koori Empire in 1410. From there, the world advanced even further, and by the 1530s, the first tanks were built, in Sino-Rome, while the first aeroplane was built in Japan around 1525.

The Peace Era came to an abrupt end in 1600, when the Aztec military stormed into Alaska setting off the Second World War. The Sino-Romans quickly responded, and Alaska soon became a tense battlefield. The Aztecs also invaded Greenland and Iceland, and the Incans invaded Africa. A few Incan fleets also made their way to Sri Lanka, hoping to distract them when the Incans invade the Pacific. The two Empires also sent an offer to the Koori Empire to join the war, but they declined.

The Hermit quickly went to participate in this war, and flew straight to Alaska to aid the Chinese forces. Surely enough, she easily destroyed the invading forces with the use of a spell card. From there, she took no time and led the Chinese forces into Canada. Ignoring the taunting winters, the Chinese did well fighting against the Aztecs in the Far North. As they advanced further down the Pacific Northwest, there was more resistance. Despite Seiga helping out the Chinese in this front, they had somewhat of a challenging time in dealing with the many Aztec military that came from different directions.

The Incans also made their way through the Pacific disguising them as trade ships, but did not attack any Japanese-held islands. Though, as the ships did pass by some of the islands, the Japanese had raised their suspicions. Seeing as these were trade ships, Japan didn't deal with them. However, this did change when the supposed trade ships started landing on Papua Island, and the Incans from there invaded the area. Shortly after this, Shogun Mamizou Futatsuiwa ordered the Japanese to block any more Incan ships from passing by the Pacific Islands.

While this tactic seemed to be successful, it unfortunately didn't stop the Incans from trying a different path. Once the Incans found out about the Japanese blockade, they begun to direct their ships to travel under the Koori Empire. With this, they remained far away from the Japanese as possible. Soon the Incans landed on Java Island, while some other ships landed on Sumatra, and launched invasions from there. Java Island saw heavy resistance, since it was densely populated. Sumatra was as well, though the Incans barely managed to gain ground at all.

On the Indian front, the Incans took Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and begun invading India. It went horribly, and the Incans had little to no chance to even advance past Thiruvananthapuram. Nevertheless, the Incans tried invading from other parts of Southern India. One of them tried to invade through Kochi, but was quickly destroyed by the Indian army and navy. While the Incans did lose plenty of battles, they managed to cause a stalemate at the tip of India for weeks before being kicked off the Subcontinent. A few months later, the Incans were also kicked out of Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and the Indian navy would go on to defeat any more ships that arrived.

In the Atlantic, the Aztecs had quite a difficult time. Instead of invading the British Isles and Scandinavia, they decided to focus on marching through Iberia. There, they managed to make it all the way to Catalonia, but became deadlocked. In Africa, they had invaded the Maghreb, which was a bit successful, but could not advance past Morocco, as there was plenty of reinforcements to shut them down. In the Southern part of the Continent, both Empires had trouble trying to invade the area as the Romans were much better prepared for this event. However they did at least gain South Africa and Namibia, before being fought out of the area a few years later.

In the Pacific Northwest, the Chinese continued on very well, mostly thanks to Seiga. Despite being outnumbered, the Hermit and her army had won most of the fight. A few Aztecs even tried to take the Hermit out, but she managed to avoid their attempts every chance they get. However, she did get injured in a few battles. Nevertheless, it was disregarded, and the Hermit fought on.

Back in Indonesia, the Incans were defeated, and any more Incan ships that arrived were taken out at sea. It took a while for the Chinese to figure out that the Incans went under Australia and New Zealand, surpassing the Japanese blockade, to get to Indonesia. Once that had been found out, they attempted to contact the Koori Empire to shut down the area, but they declined and proclaimed neutrality. This disappointed the Chinese, and they went on to tell Japan about this. Shogun Mamizou agreed to step in, and sent Japanese ships to block and take down any Incan ships that attempted to pass around there. She also announced her declaration on war against both Empires.

Following this, the Pacific route had been more or less shut down for the Incans. As they send more fleets to not only try to go through the area, but fighting through other parts of the Pacific, the Incans suffered heavy losses and could not advance. The Pacific front would arrive right next door, as some Japanese fleets begun invading the Gal?pagos Islands, successfully. Within months the islands were taken, and they advanced on into Ecuador, where Japan begins invading the Inca Empire itself.

In Europe, the Aztecs had pure luck to reach up to the French border. They tried to fight to maintain the conquered areas, but it was no use. The Romans in the long run pushed the Aztecs out of Europe, as well as Africa. Iceland and Greenland were liberated once again, and the Romans begun invading the East Coast of the Aztec lands.

With the war now being fought on the home front, some protests broke out in the Inca and Aztec Empires calling to surrender. The Governments however, did not accept, and continued on. As it dragged on however, they suffered more defeats, and slowly lost land each day. The Chinese and Roman forces soon met up in Canada, and from there they invaded further South. In the South, the Japanese captured Ecuador, and begun taking parts of Colombia and Peru.

By 1615, the Sino-Roman Forces had reached Mexico and Central America at last. They also launched a successful invasion of Brazil, and aided the Japanese forces in South America. Within weeks, the Incan government had surrendered, but the Aztecs did not. Seiga, who was starting to grow sick and tired of this war, decided to simply fly to Tenochtitlan herself. After taking out the forces there, she walked to the Government building and used her hair stick to get in. Upon entering, she proceeded to walk towards the Prime Minister's office, and demanded to end this war, or the nation would be fully annihilated. The Prime Minister wasted no time, and quickly surrendered.

With both Empires having given up, a new treaty was created. In this treaty, the Aztecs would lose much of North America to Sino-Rome and Japan, and be limited to the territory of the OTL First Mexican Empire (Mexico, Central America minus Panama, and Southwestern United States). The Incans would cede Brazil and Paraguay to Sino-Rome while Colombia, Venezuela, and The Guianas to Japan. Both Empires had to pay reparations, and their military also became restricted as well. This treaty was signed, officially ending this war.

The nations managed to rebuild from the last war by 1647. In the Aztec and Inca Empires, both governments begin considering to improve relations with Sino-Rome and Japan. It would take a while however, as there is much Anti-Aztec and Anti-Inca settlement in both of those nations. The Koori Empire continued to remain neutral in world affairs, and became something like OTL Switzerland.

Years went by as normal, and the world became more and more advanced. Mononobe no Futo became elected as Governor for Muisca Prefecture (which was one of the Prefectures in Japanese South America) by Shogun Mamizou, so to keep an eye on, and deal with, the Incans and Aztecs if they decided to invade. Hakurei Reimu became Governor of Panama (another Prefecture in Japanese South America) for the same reason, and with that she didn't create the border for Gensokyo. Border patrols were also frequent, and watchtowers were also built. The Japanese islands in the Pacific were also under constant watch by the navy, and each island had at least one military base.

Later in the 1910s however, a revolution struck in the Aztec Empire, and the nation fell into civil war. The Incans sent aid to help the Royalists in the nation, but they begun to suffer defeats to the militarists. This civil war came to an end in 1919, with the militarists achieving victory, and establishing rule. Shortly after coming into power, they heavily built up the military and fortified the borders. The nation also evolved into an police state, and relations with other nations went cold, especially with the Inca Empire.

In the early 1930s, the Aztec Empire decided to invade the Incans, trying to establish a puppet government. Within a few years, the Aztecs managed to conquer up until the end of the Peruvian border, but couldn't advance any further as the Incans was able to fight them well. A ceasefire was signed, and the Aztecs established Antisuyu, which was a puppet state established out of the captured lands. The Incan capital was relocated to Talcahuano during the Aztec invasion as well. In 1945, the Aztecs and their puppet begun invading Japanese South America, setting off the Continental War.

Mononobe no Futo and Hakurei Reimu both immediately responded to the attack. While Futo went to deal with the puppet, Reimu went to deal with the Aztec Empire itself. Within months, the Shikaisen managed to defeat Antisuyu, and went to hand it back to the Incan Empire. The Shrine Maiden, however, had quite a challenging time invading the Aztecs. Futo soon came to her aid, and both, along with the Japanese forces, continued pushing into Aztec territory.

By late 1947, the Japanese forces along with the Shikaisen and Shrine Maiden reached Chiapas. The Aztecs tried to fight against them to the greatest of their ability, but to little effect. When Futo and Reimu had reached Tenochtitlan, they went to investigate the government building, but no one was there. They quickly found out that the military government had fled to El Paso, and begun heading there. However, the government would relocate a few more times, trying to avoid capture. Their last move was towards the Californian coast, in Sonoma County. Once there, they remained in the area until the end.

The Japanese forces continued on, and finally, by Year 1953, they had reached Sonoma County at last. Once there, Futo and Reimu went on to check governmental buildings, and managed to finally meet up with the military government. They still refused to surrender, and tried to fight against Shikaisen and Shrine Maiden. This quickly led to their defeat, and only then did they officially surrender. With the war now ended, the fate of the empire was decided upon. After a bit of a discussion, the Aztec Empire was annexed into Japan, but given some autonomy.

In the 2000s, the Inca Empire had friendly relations with Sino-Rome and Japan, and also would cooperate with them in some projects. Anti-Inca settlement also reached an all time low by 2005, while Anti-Aztec settlement would still be around until 2090. The nations on Earth remained peaceful to each other for many years to come.

In 2300, Shogun Mamizou gave independence to the Aztec Empire, and the old monarchy of the nation was restored. Relations and the alliance with the Inca Empire was also restored. Both Empires would also ally with Japan and Sino-Rome. Later in 2430, the Aztec and Inca both would merge into one nation as well.

In another universe, its around the 800s. The Vikings were raiding Ireland and setting up ports. Somewhere within the mountains of Southern Ireland, a time machine appeared. The doors opened up, and Sekibanki went out, exploring the area. After a while, she decides to aid the Irish in fighting against the Vikings, and also plans to unite the island under one nation. The point of divergence takes place here.

But where did Sekibanki get the time machine in the first place?

She got the time machine from Nitori, who had built it. This is also where Byakuren got the time machine two timelines ago, in Magical Empires.

------------

The first location Sekibanki went to was Limerick. Once there, she had encountered the first Vikings in the area. She quickly rushed and begun fighting them. One of the Vikings attempted to throw some spears at her head. She managed to detach her head and had it flying to dodge the spears. This move had scared the Vikings, and many begun to flee in fear. A few decided to continue the fight, but were quickly defeated.

From there, Sekibanki flew to other parts of Coastal Ireland to fight more Vikings. Having an idea, she decided to keep her head off and hold onto it. As she approached more invaders, she managed to scare them away. Any of those that tried to fight were met with danmaku attacks and ended up defeat. After a few days of spooking and fighting them away, the Vikings would begin to avoid Ireland altogether.

With their invasions having come to an end, the next thing on her list was absolute unification of Ireland. She tried at first at convincing the independent kingdoms to all merge into one, but many had refused this. The Kingdom of Munster, however, took an interest in unifying the island, and asked her for help. She agreed to this, and begun to take out the rivalling dynasties. This came with some difficulty, as the other Kingdoms would not give up their rule easily. The Irish Unification War soon begun when Munster and Sekibanki launched an invasion of Leinster.

While Leinster had managed to defend itself and fought quite well, it ended up falling under Munster rule weeks later. Upon the conquest of the capital, the king there decided to surrender, and allowed the kingdom to annex Leinster. With one rival dynasty down, there were five more to go. The next kingdom Munster and Sekibanki invaded was Dublin. As Dublin was the smallest kingdom around, it was fairly easy to conquer, though the capital was heavily defended. Nevertheless it was annexed into Munster a week and a half later.

After a short break, they invaded Meath next, which took a while longer to fall than Leinster. After that, they took down Ulaidh, followed by Ailech. A few years later, Connacht was the last independent Irish kingdom to be invaded. Invading wasn't easy as there was heavy resistance, that had managed to cause a few stalemates here and there. It took roughly five months to conquer at least two thirds of the kingdom. Another three months, and the capital was left. Finally, a few days later, King Diarmait mac Tommaltaig decided to surrender, and the kingdom was annexed into Munster. The long war came to a close, and the island was united.

Since the unification, there was an occasional rebellion. Some were small, but there was a few big ones as well. Despite this, Ireland remained at peace until around the 1160s. By the end of this decade, Normandy  had begun invading the island, starting with Bannow. As the Normans had begun to advance and fight against the Irish, a few hours later they ran into Sekibanki herself, who had arrived to the scene. They tried fighting her, to no avail, and were soon pushed out of Ireland.

Two years later in 1171, Henry II launched an invasion of the island starting at Waterford. The city became overwhelmed by the invaders, and was quickly taken. Henry II's forces went on, conquering a bit more land than the Normans did. Sekibanki  arrived and defeated the invasion, and also scared them away. She also sent a letter to Westminster, in which she threatened to invade them if they tried again. The King of England decided to accept this. A peace treaty was also signed, as was a non-aggression pact.

Following the last war, the Irish begun to build their nation, and improved their military. Some defences were also established in parts of the island, especially in the southern part, to keep an eye out for would-be invaders. The Irish managed to establish an alliance with Scotland as well.

The Irish helped the Scots when the latter was invaded by England in 1296. After a while, in 1300, Sekibanki went on to aid Scotland as well. Within a few days after her entry, the English were suffering more defeats. By 1304, the Scottish and Irish forces managed to push the English out of Scotland, and went on to invade England in revenge. King Edward I decided to give in and ended the war before the advanced any further. A treaty was signed, re-establishing the de jure Scottish independence, and the cession of a bit of Northern England to Scotland.

Unfortunately, the English launched another invasion of Scotland in 1333. The Irish, and days later Sekibanki, quickly came to the Scots aid, and begun fighting the English. France also joined in on the war in 1336, on the side of Scotland. As the French begun invading England's Continental possessions, they did sent a few forces to aid the Northern Front. By 1338, the Scottish and Irish forces begin advancing beyond the border, capturing parts of the Northern areas. Upon the conquest of Yorkshire and the Humber along with North West Region in 1344, King Edward III of England decided to surrender and end the war with Scotland. Another treaty was signed, this time all areas Scotland captured were to be annexed by them, along with paying reparations. After the war, England continued war with France, which had now evolved into the Hundred Years' War.

While Ireland and Scotland were prosperous, England was not. The Hundred Years' War was very damaging for the English, and when it ended in 1450s, they lost all continental territory along with Cornwall to the French. Also during the war, the Glyndŵr Rising was successful, and Wales managed to declare independence from England. Wales quickly allied with Scotland and Ireland as well. Even more, Sekibanki begins to help out Scotland and Wales.

Elsewhere in the World, the Kalmar Union had grown in power, and soon unified into one nation. They also regained Greenland under their domain, and colonised Svalbard. In Asia, the Ashikaga Shogunate managed to expand into Hokkaido, and portions of Karafuto (Sakhalin) Island along with Chishima (Kuril) Islands, before descending into the Sengoku Era. The Scandinavians also went on to re-discover Vinland in 1490.

With the news of Vinland, the Scandinavians and Spanish goes on to colonise it. The former sets up a colony in Newfoundland while the latter sets up a colony in the Caribbean. Portugal joins in a few years later, and colonises South Vinland. Roughly One Hundred Years later, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and the Dutch also joins in, and begins colonising the East Coast. England also tried to colonise, but came into conflict with the Dutch, and soon an Anglo-Dutch War took place in the 1650s. The English had lost the war, and also had to cede their colony to the Dutch.

In Asia, Toyotomi Hideyoshi managed to pull of a successful invasion of Korea. By 1600, the nation had been conquered and annexed by Japan. Hideyoshi also declared the establishment of the Toyotomi Shogunate, and went on to turn it into a powerful and prosperous nation. In the 1660s, the Japanese had begun colonising Tierra del Fuego and Oregon. Meanwhile, conflicts with China also emerged, and a few skirmishes took place. Mamizou aided the Japanese in some of these conflicts too.

In 1700, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, under the Acts of Union Treaty, united into one nation and formed the Celtic Kingdom. Their colonies also merge together into one. This unification strengthened their influence and power, and became one of the powerful nations in Europe. This did bring a bit of concerns in France, as they fear that Cornwall and Brittany could possibly rebel and break away. To make sure that doesn't happen, the French set up military bases in both areas to keep an eye on the people there.

In fear of the strong Celtic state in the British Isles, England begun looking for ways to built its own power. Soon, in the 1750s, the English East India Company begun to establish rule in Bengal shortly after the close victory in the Battle of Plassey by the English. England also begun colonising a part of South Africa, but soon came into conflict, and later into a war, with the Dutch. As a result England lost their colony to them, and led to a decline of power as well. Company rule in Bengal managed to survive up until around the 1800s.

Later in the 1800s, the Napoleonic Wars took place. In the war, not only did England ended up losing their holdings in India to France, but the nation itself became conquered by the French. Shortly after this however, the French launched an invasion of the Celtic Kingdom. Within a few minutes, Sekibanki arrived on scene of the battle and begun to fight them out of the area. By 1808, England was restored but became under occupation, the Celtic Kingdom captured Cornwall and pushed the French out of the Isles.  The Celtic Kingdom and Sekibanki went on to invade Brittany, aiming to take the area, and some ships were sent to take the captured French lands in India. Finally in 1815, the French were defeated and the war came to a close.

After the war, the Congress of Vienna took place. In it, the Celtic Kingdom managed to obtain Cornwall and all of French India, along with the captured English-held lands by the French. Brittany remained a part of France however, which slightly disappointed the Celts. Meanwhile, Prussia managed to annex a bunch of Northern German states and grew in strength. The Dutch and the Celts also gained French Louisiana and had split it between them. The Dutch also obtained the former French/England colony in Australia too.

With the Celts now having a foothold in India, they create the Celtic Raj. Over the years, the Celtic Raj grew in size and by the 1880s, would grow to cover all of the Indian Subcontinent, excluding other European colonies in the area. Sekibanki tried her luck in gaining the Kingdom of Kandy for the Celts, which became successful. Following her conquest of the nation in 1830, Celtic Ceylon was established.

Also in the 1830s, the Celts made their way to China, and had established trade with them. They also came in contact with Japan, which was quite powerful. The Celts tried to establish a trade agreement with them, but the Japanese had declined. Friendly relations with the Siamese Empire was also sought for, and obtained.

Things were beginning to heat up in Asia. With huge European presence and colonialism in the area, Japan went to take a step ahead and the Meiji Restoration took place earlier. In the 1880s, shortly after the French takeover of Vietnam, they attempted to launch an invasion of Siam to take some of their lands. However with Celtic and Sekibanki's aid, the Siamese managed to defeat the French and a non-aggression pact was signed.

In 1885, Hakurei Reimu became the first Prime Minister of Japan, and would lead the nation into a New Era. She also had plans to deal with the European colonialism in Asia in the future.

Were you making more stories, or just no time to post?

Still good, still good.

I've had no time to post. I've also been thinking of some more ideas for stories as well, but I haven't written anything for it.

----------------

In 1894, China declared war on Japan over control of Korea. However, this led to a Chinese loss, and the war came to an end in 1895. As a result, the Chinese lost Hainan, the Liaodong Peninsula (without L?shunkou District/Port Arthur), and Penghu to Japan. Parts of Manchuria also became under Japanese influence, which begun to rival the Russian influence there.

Tensions between Russia and Japan was inevitable, and soon led to the Russo-Japanese War in 1904. Later, on the night of 21/22 October 1904, the Dogger Bank incident occurred, when the Russians mistook the Celtic fishers for an Imperial Japanese Navy ship and attacked them. The Celtic Kingdom demanded an apology from them, but Russia refused. Following this, the Celtic Kingdom declared war on Russia in revenge. Sekibanki quickly joined in on the war for the Celtic side as well. Following the Celtic entry, France had joined in on the side of Russia, and begun fighting against the Celts.

With the Triple Alliance - Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy - staying neutral, the war didn't expand any further. Meanwhile France invaded Cornwall, along with the Celtic African colonies. The Celts fought back quite well, especially with the reinforcements from India, and the aid of Sekibanki. Reimu had some military to spare and ordered a few Japanese military divisions to invade Vietnam, along with Guangzhouwan. In India, the Celts launched an invasion of French-held territories within India.

In the Far East Front, the Russians tried gaining Kamchatka as well, but had been repelled by Reimu. The Shrine Maiden went on to invade Russian lands in the Far East, and ordered an attack on Vladivostok. The Japanese forces went on to take the city, and begun invading Russia from there as well. In Vietnam, the Japanese managed to take the northern part of the area, and marched on into the South. Guangzhouwan was easily conquered as well, and annexed into Japan.

In the African front, the Celts were defeating the French, and begun taking parts of French West Africa. However, the further the Celts continued, the more challenging it was to fight them. In Europe, Sekibanki had kicked the French out of Cornwall, and launched an invasion of Brittany. The Russian ships that aided the French were easily defeated by the Celtic Navy. By the Second Month in 1906, half of Brittany was conquered by the Celts.

The war came to an end in 1907, with a major loss for both France and Russia. Japan gained parts of the Russian Far East, Port Arthur, along with the French possessions in China, and Vietnam. France lost its Indian held territories and portions of French West Africa to the Celts. Brittany was also lost, and annexed into the Celtic Kingdom.

Following the war, the World had a brief and temporary peace for seven years. In 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand had been assassinated by Gavrilo Princip. This event was the start of the First World War. Reimu went to participate in this war, and begun invading the German colonies in Oceania and China. The Celtic Kingdom didn't participate at first, but when the Germans invaded neutral Belgium, the Celts changed their mind, and went on to join the war on the Allied side. Sekibanki herself decided to continue resting, and did not take part. Italy joined in on the Allies, aiming to gain the Austrian-held Italian areas.

The First World War ended in 1918. Austria-Hungary had dissolved, Italy gained the lands it aimed for, Reimu obtained and annexed German territories and colonies in the Asia-Pacific, German African colonies were ceded to the Celts. Russia fell into a revolution and evolved into the Soviet Union. The Baltic states managed to cede from Russia and gained independence, though soon united into one nation. The Baltic Republic also managed to purchase the Latvian lands from Scandinavia in exchange for an alliance with them. Some more new nations were also established, such as Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia.

The Interwar Era followed shortly afterwards. Despite the Celts helping the French in the First World War, some tensions continued between them, but begun to decline in the wake of a new government taking control of Germany in 1933. England also had a Fascist leader emerge and taking control, causing more concerns for the Celts and French. Japan's influence had spread across Asia, and was felt as far as Australia and Argentina. Kaku Seiga, who had moved back to China in 1912 along with Yoshika Miyako (who had been revived by Seiga as a Jiang Shi), went to deal with the Warlords in the nation and helped out the Republicans. Soon the Communists, led by Mao Zedong and Hong Meiling, arose as well. In 1927, China fell into civil war between the Communists and the Republicans.

In 1931, a few minutes after the Mukden Incident happened, Manchuria had been invaded by Japan, and was conquered by 1932. Reimu continued her plans as normal, and begun looking towards the Spanish Philippines. When the Spanish Civil War broke out in 1936, the Shrine Maiden wasted no time and quickly launched an invasion of the Spanish possession. By the time the Spanish Republicans managed to win the Civil War and established power in 1938, they had lost the Philippines to Japan.

The next World War would soon begin any day now.

In 1939, the war had begun. Reimu had launched another invasion of China. Seiga, Yoshika, the Republicans/Kuomintang, along with Meiling and the Communists, formed a temporary united front against the Japanese.  The Shrine Maiden herself decided to participate in the invasion of China. However a few hours later, a huge stalemate occurred. Reimu tried as best as she can, but fighting against three different powerful people at once was quite difficult. After a few hours, Seiga, Yoshika, and Meiling had managed to defeat Reimu, and went on to push the Japanese out of China. The Shrine Maiden had no choice but to sign a treaty with China, and the Second Sino-Japanese War came to an end. In 1940, the Chinese Civil War continued.

With the loss humiliating Reimu, she went on to invade other areas in Asia. Reimu begun invading the Dutch East Indies, along with English Hong Kong. The latter had been easily captured within a week, while the former took eleven months. Following this, she invaded Portuguese Timor, which took two weeks to take. Reimu then continued on to invade Dutch Australia. She would set aside from invading Siam, as she doesn't want to deal with the Celts just yet, especially Sekibanki.

In Europe, France had fallen to Germany. The Germans also tried their luck in invading Scandinavia, which had some success at first. The State of Denmark had fallen quite quick, but as the Germans advanced further into the region, they are met with a blockade of Norwegians, Swedes, and the Finns. The English also aided the Germans at first, though they soon were invaded by Sekibanki, and fell under Celtic occupation. Soon, she, along with some Celtic forces, went on to free France from the Germans. In a year and a half, France and the Lowland Countries had been released from German rule. The Germans also soon were pushed out of Scandinavia as well.

In the Pacific, the invasion of Australia, surprisingly enough, went fine. The Shrine Maiden used her many spell cards against the Dutch, resulting in decent victories. A year later, Australia fell under Japanese rule, and Reimu went on to invade Dutch New Zealand. The area was taken within a few months, however the Shrine Maiden suffered a few injuries in some of the battles. Reimu went to ignore it however, and begun thinking what to take next. In the meantime she would rest for a few months before launching another invasion.

Back in Europe, the Allied forces were easily defeating Germany and Italy. Seeking to expand their influence, the Soviet Union joined in on the war on the side of the Allies, and went to free Eastern Europe and the Balkans from German-Italian rule. Soon by 1943 the Axis nations in Europe was defeated, bringing the war there to an end. Sekibanki made her preparations and she began leaving for Asia to help the Allies there to defeat Japan.

Hearing about the Axis loss in Europe, Reimu decided to take her chance and launched an invasion of Thailand and Celtic India. Resistance there was tough, and some stalemates occurred. However it didn't stop Reimu, and she went on to use more spell cards in battles. Once Sekibanki had arrived, she and some of the Celtic forces decided to aid in liberating New Zealand and Australia from the Japanese. As they had begun to set foot in both areas, the Shrine Maiden decided to go on and try to prevent the Celts from freeing the areas. At this point, Japan begun suffering some losses.

In 1944, the Chinese Civil War came to an end, with Seiga, Yoshika, and the Republicans defeating the Communists. Mao and Meiling were put into prison for life. Soon, President Chiang Kai-shek declared war on Japan, and the Chinese begun invading Manchukuo, along with other Japanese holdings in China. The Japanese were taken by surprise, and within a year, the Chinese managed to push them out of China once and for all. They went on to side with the Allies, and aided in defeating the Island Nation.

To go even further, the nations of South Vinland, especially Chile and Argentina, begun declaring war on Japan, and went on to invade the Japanese colony below them. The Empire of Mexico soon followed, siding with the Allies as well. This quickly put pressure on Reimu, and she begun suffering defeats on all sides. Within two years, Japan was pushed out of Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Portuguese Timor, and the Dutch East Indies. The colonies in Vinland became occupied by Chile, Argentina, and Mexico as well. The Soviets were the last to declare war, and they quickly sought to gain back the lands lost in the Russo-Japanese War.

By late 1947, all Japan had left was the Home Islands, Taiwan, Karafuto, and the Chishima. Reimu had flew back to Tokyo and sought to sit out the rest of the war. The Chinese, Celts, Siamese, Dutch, Seiga, Yoshika, and Sekibanki begun invading the Southern part of the nation, while the Soviets invaded the North. Mamizou Futatsuiwa had decided that enough was enough and went to Tokyo. Once there, she fought Reimu, and won. Mamizou then became the Acting Prime Minister, and had the nation surrender.

A treaty was signed. In it, Japan was allowed to keep Karafuto, Chishima, Kamchatka, Taiwan, Hawaii, and its colonies in North and South Vinland along with Papua New Guinea. However, a part of the Russian lands the Japanese won from the Russo-Japanese War had to be given to the Soviet Union. The Philippines were to be given back to Spain, Portuguese Timor to Portugal, and the Dutch East Indies back to the Dutch. Australia and New Zealand were also given back to the Dutch, but were both given independence in 1950. Vietnam also declared independence as well, along with Korea. Hong Kong was given to China. The Second World War had officially came to an end after this.

Reimu Hakurei was thrown into the Tokyo Bay, and soon she decided to flee to Japanese South Vinland.

The Cold War came into full swing. Republican Spain decided to ally with the Soviet Union. Korea had suffered a civil war between Communists and Republicans. That war lasted for three years with a huge victory for the Republican faction. Greece also suffered a civil war and saw the Communists coming to power there. Two other blocs had formed to combat the Warsaw Pact, the European Defence Pact which is led by the Celtic Kingdom and Scandinavia, and the Asian League which is led by the Republic of China.

Decolonisation also went into full effect, and many nations over the years declared independence. However some, such as French Guinea and Spanish Florida, did not cede. Once Namibia had declared independence from the Celtic Kingdom, South Africa tried to launch an invasion of it. The Celts and Sekibanki went to aid the Namibians to repel the invasion and achieved victory. As a result of the war South Africa had to cede its exclave that solely bordered Namibia, to them.

Meanwhile in China, Hong Meiling had escaped from prison. She had fled to aid the Communist Revolution there. She was successful, and had helped establish the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This move disgusted Seiga, though she did not do anything for now. The Republic of China however would keep an eye out on Vietnam, especially since they allied with the Soviet Union a few days after establishment.

Tensions in South Vinland had heated up between Chile and Bolivia, and Ecuador and Peru, over land disputes. Soon, by 1970, the South Vinlandian War had begun when Bolivia made their move to regain the lost lands that Chile took in the Pacific War. Peru went on to aid Bolivia, and also invaded Ecuador. Paraguay joined in the war on the side of Chile, and Colombia joined in on Ecuador's side. Venezuela also tried their chance in gaining a portion of Suriname, which led to a war with the Dutch, Celtic Kingdom, and Sekibanki as well.

The South Vinlandian War came to an closing end in 1973. Aside from Paraguay gaining a piece of Bolivian land, the war resulted in mostly a status quo ante bellum. The Union of South Vinland was established, so to better prevent any more wars in the region. Japan and France became observers of the organisation, as they had colonies in the area.

The Cold War continued all the way until the late 1990s. In 1994, many nation in the Warsaw Pact had revolted against Communist rule. They had became successful and established democratic governments. Greece also went and made a peaceful transition to democracy. Other Communist governments had experienced democratic movements as well, even the Soviet Union itself. In 1995, the Soviet Union had dissolved and was succeeded by the Russian Federation, along with some new nations being created. Alaska had tried to declare independence, but was unsuccessful in doing so.

In Spain, the Communist Government had continued to rule until 1999, when major reforms had been made. Soon, Spain went and became a Federal Semi-Presidential Constitutional Republic. By 2007 the nation joined the European Union alongside Bulgaria and Romania.

By 2000, Vietnam had been the only Communist state remaining. The government continued to rule with an iron fist, and Meiling aided in taking out any protests. Tensions also remained between Vietnam and its neighbours as well, and skirmishes with China was not unheard of. However, in 2002, a major incident occurred not too far from Hainan Island, as a Chinese corvette had been sunken by a Vietnamese military submarine. A few days later, China declared war on Vietnam.

Within minutes, Chinese tanks begun storming across the border. Meiling was quick to arrive at the battle scene and launched huge attacks against the invading forces. A few hours later, Seiga and Yoshika had appeared, and begun dealing with her. A huge danmaku battle takes place, and a bunch of spell cards were used. After a while, the Celitc Kingdom lend support to China, and Sekibanki met up with both Seiga and Yoshika to help defeat Meiling.

By 2004, most of Vietnam had fallen. The Allied side continued to advance well, and were approaching closer to Hanoi. Meiling tried to prevent them from reaching the capital, but ended up being defeated by Seiga, Yoshika, and Sekibanki. With this, the rest of the war went smoothly, and Hanoi was captured by September. The Communist Government was dissolved, Meiling was put in prison once again, and a new government had been established for Vietnam.

Since then, not much had happened and the world had been more or less in peace.

In a different universe, it's currently 1834. Something was bound to happen somewhere in Texas quite soon. Meanwhile a time machine appears in Austin. The doors had opened, and Marisa Kirisame had walked out. Upon exploring the area, the Magician went to buy a decent house and begun settling in. The Magician also takes a notice and interest of the independence movements. This is where the next point of divergence takes place.

Title: The Lone Star Magician
Post by: Karafuto on November 25, 2013, 12:27:20 AM
Marisa had spent her time investigating, and made her preparations. Soon when the Texas War of Independence broke out in 1835, the Magician begun to aid the Texans against Mexico. The war went on as usual, though Texas has more victories then OTL. When the Battle of the Alamo took place, the Mexicans almost managed to achieve victory. Marisa had managed to appear at that battle site just when it was closing. She went and used her Mini-Hakkero, and within seconds, the invading forces were crushed. From there, the War of Independence had been achieved.

Soon after, its independence was recognised by Belgium, France, Netherlands, and the US at first. Mexico still had refused to recognise them, and still claimed them as a territory. Fighting between the two nations continued on, mostly at sea and along the coastlines. In 1842, when the Battle of Salado Creek took place, and Marisa used her Mini-Hakkero once again to defeat the invading forces. Finally, war between the two nations would come to an end, and Mexico went to finally recognise Texas as independent.

Marisa's power and aid would influence the Texan Government, and many people would support remaining independent. Relations between Texas and the US remained decent, though the offers of admission into the US was kindly declined by the Texans, as a majority didn't want to join the nation. Relations went sour once James K. Polk was elected as the next President of the US. Polk went on to constantly try to offer Texas to join, but when they refused, he responded with war.

What was thought to be an easy victory at first, it heavily backfired once Marisa entered the war. The Magician went on to defeat the US Forces with lots of danmaku and her Mini-Hakkero. Polk wouldn't give up however, as he continued the invasion with full force. This didn't help at all, and the Texans continued to achieve more victories. By June 1846, Polk finally decided to give up and officially surrendered. A peace treaty was then signed ending the war.

Shortly after the war, more nations went on to recognise Texas. Most notable of these were the United Kingdom, Russia, Sweden, and Spain. Disgusted as the US attempts to gain a nation that preferred to be independent, the United Kingdom would annex all of Oregon County and made it a part of Canada, and not sell any of it. Some nations also cut relations with the US, especially the United Kingdom. Much tensions were felt in North America, though had slightly declined once Polk left office in 1849.

Texas went on to rebuild relations with Mexico, and later on became allies. Texas also became allied with the United Kingdom and Spain, as well as the lowland countries. A few years later in 1858, Marisa Kirisame was elected as President of Texas.

In 1861, the Confederate States went on to cede from the US. The Civil War went on as usual, however, the CS also attempted to take Texas. The attempt failed, and Marisa decided to launch an invasion of the unrecognised nation. With Texas intervening, the CSA was quickly defeated by 1863. With this, Texas-US relations begun to see some more improvement.

Meanwhile in other areas of the World, not much was going on. Denmark managed to win the Battle of Schleswig back in 1848, and kept the area. In 1870, Japan went on to purchase Alaska from Russia. Soon, Japan manages to discover gold in the area, and the territory soon was admitted as a Prefecture. China had their own Meiji Restoration-esque beginning in 1870, as did Korea. Reimu decided to go on a worldwide tour, and also ends up never establishing the border.

In 1894, the First Sino-Japanese War took place as usual. With an industrialised China and Korea, Japan had a difficult time in fighting. Nevertheless, the Japanese managed to gain Taiwan, Penghu, and the Liaodong Peninsula along with having Korea in the Japanese Sphere by 1898. Soon, tensions between Russia and Japan emerged.

Back in North America, the Cuban War of Independence broke out in 1895. Spain went on to fight against the rebellion. By the last three months of the war, the US went and intervened, in support of Cuba. Shortly afterwards, Marisa went to aid her ally Spain, which led to the War of the Caribbean. The war came to a close four months later, with Spain keeping Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Guam. Marisa also went on to aid Spain in taking back the Philippines, which was successful.

Later in 1901, Reimu stopped by in Texas to tour the area. Along the way, she ran into Marisa. After a while, Reimu went on to tell her about Japan. Soon, Marisa decided to open relations with Japan by 1902, and Japan did the same. Marisa also went to establish relations with Thailand and China as well.

Time went on, and in 1914, the First World War broke out. Texas went to join in on the Allied side. The war went on as usual, and Japan managed to gain German colonies in the Pacific. It comes to an end in 1918, with a victory for the Allies. Russia falls into a revolution and is succeeded by the Soviet Union.

The Interwar Era followed. Many nations were prospering, save for the Central Powers. The Republican/Kuomintang Government in China managed to defeat the Warlords and Communists, with the aid of Seiga. In Japan, Mononobe no Futo became elected as Prime Minister, and went to turn the nation into a liberal democratic state. With this, Futo managed to prevent the Militarism from rising, and democracy remaining strong, even after Emperor Taishō's death.

More years passed by, and in 1939, the European War broke out. Germany was invading Poland, and Italy was invading the Balkans. Spain and Texas soon joined in the war in 1940 on the Allied side, and Marisa herself went on to participate as well. Within the next few months, the Axis was suffering huge defeats, and by 1943, the war came to an end. While all of Germany was freed fully by the Allied Powers, the Soviets managed to secure the Balkans and Poland, turning them into satellite states.

The Cold War then emerged, between the Soviets and Comintern Pact against Texas and Allies. Marisa had established the Atlantic Defence Pact, which consisted of Western Europe (except Switzerland), Canada, Mexico, Denmark, Norway, and Texas. In Asia, a Communist rebellion took place in Korea, but was put down by Japan. Some other communist revolutions took hold in other parts of the world as well. Tensions in North America by this point was gone, and the Foreign Relations of the US  with other nations had improved overall, save for the Comintern. The US also joined the Atlantic Defence Pact in 1956.

In the 1960s, the Space Race occurred between the Soviets and Texans. The Soviets went and managed to have the first satellite, and first human in space. Following this, Marisa decided to make her goal of having the first person on Luna. By 1967, this had been achieved, and the Magician herself even went to Luna. During her trip to Luna, she ended up meeting the Lunarians, and also met with Watatsuki no Yorihime. A few hours later, Marisa and her crew went back to Earth, and much celebration was held in Dallas.

At the end of the 1980s, the Comintern fell apart, and the Soviet Union had dissolved by 1989, succeeded by the Russian Federation. Yugoslavia also fell apart, with Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina gaining independence. Montenegro, Macedonia, and Serbia remained united, having saved Yugoslavia from collapsing fully.

Marisa still remains President of Texas to this day.

I guess the prospect of ruling Texas was a sufficient enough reason for Marisa to pursue immortality. Being the sole open user of magic in the area, one would also think that she could use her knowledge to raise an entire air force of magicians before most of the world even had cumbersome airships sailing at 4 mph, let alone airplanes. Or not, considering that they might defect, and soon, every nation would have magic.

I assume that Yuyuko will use her power in the late 1700's to help the French Revolution?

Just say'n.

Yuyuko will not only aid the French Revolution later on, but will also partake in the Napoleonic Wars.

----------

Within a few years of arrival. both Yuyuko and Youmu got to know the Frisian Kingdom well, and even picked up the language. They later got dragged into the Frisian?Frankish wars, and went to aid the Frisian side. With this, the Frisians had an assured victory, and the Franks started suffering heavy losses. The Franks were also not able to deal with Youmu, as she was too fast, and managed to crush a decent group of soldiers within seconds with her sword. By the 690s, the Frisian Kingdom had control over all the OTL Netherlands and Belgium.

The Franks, still continue seeing only defeats, decided to offer to end the war, and call for a peace treaty. The Frisian Kingdom agreed, and a treaty was signed. All captured Frankish land was annexed into the Frisian Kingdom as a result. The defeat had also weakened the Frankish Empire greatly, and by 810, had split into three kingdoms.

Meanwhile, the Frisians also saw Viking raids, starting around the late Eighth Century. Each raid was successfully defeated by Youmu, and after a few years of suffering heavy losses, the Vikings decided to stop raiding Frisia and focused on raiding other areas. The Vikings then went on to capture most of England by the end of the Eleventh Century, and had resisted Christianisation. Later on with this, Scandinavia (along with a decent portion of the island of Great Britain) would be one of the two places in Europe to continue having a pagan religion (Norse Paganism) as the dominant, with the other being Frisia (Germanic Paganism).

Near the end of the Tenth Century, Leif Ericson had discovered Vinland, and managed to establish a successful settlement. News of the new land was soon leaked into Frisia in 1048, and led them to also send a ship to explore. A Frisian ship soon landed around OTL Long Island, and soon a settlement was created. Both Frisia and Scandinavia tried to keep their settlements a secret from other Europeans for a long while.

The successful settlement in Vinland prompted Frisia to explore other places. However, starting in the late 1060s, the Holy Roman Empire attempted to invade Frisia and convert them. The invasion was unsuccessful, and Youmu managed to defeat the HRE Forces quite easily. Nevertheless the war continued for another ten years before the HRE decided to withdraw and sue for peace, though skirmishes would continue up until the 1300s. Frisia managed to gain a slice of OTL Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony).

Around 1127, a Frisian ship set sail to explore elsewhere. Yuyuko was also aboard this ship, and was the one leading the crew, while Youmu stayed behind just in case Frisia was attacked again. The Frisian ship went to travel down and around Africa, and reached the Indian Sub-Continent by 1128. After a while they then continued on to Srivijaya, stopped by in Champa and Vietnam, rested in China for a few days, before finally reaching Japan. Once in Japan, Yuyuko and the Frisians explored around. The Ghost Princess took note of the Soga clan that continued ruling over most of the island nation. Soon, Yuyuko and the Frisians decided to head back home, though the Ghost Princess would later visit again.

In Vinland, the Scandinavian and Frisian colonies continue to flourish and slowly expand. By the 1200s, the Scandinavian colony contains all of OTL Newfoundland and Labrador and Northern Qu?bec, while the Frisian colony compromised OTL New Jersey, New York, and New England (minus Maine). The Natives, while still managing to put up a good fight, have been weakened heavily by the diseases that the Scandinavians and Frisians brought. Meanwhile, the Iroquois had established their own nation out of a portion of Southern Ontario to defend themselves against the Frisians, which was successful for now.

Roughly 195 years later, in the 1390s, Zheng He made his own voyages and managed to discover the Western Coast of Vinland for China, and quickly led the Chinese colonisation of the continent. In the Eastern part of the continent, the Scandinavians have just about conquered all of Qu?bec, and the Frisians had expanded further south, up until, and including, OTL North Carolina. Also by this time, both the Scandinavians and Frisians had established small trade ports in Africa, India and China. The rest of Europe was still far behind, though some rumours had begun to spread into Portugal and Castile, and both governments have decided to begin investigating as curiosity got to them.

The competition was bound to heat up soon, especially in the colonial department. The New World would soon be revealed to other nations too...

Welcome back from a month long disappearance!  :V

I'm assuming that you had things to do, didn't you?

So apparently now, we have Touhou characters scattered across history. Will there be a "crossover" timeline where all of the characters has appeared at least once?
Title: The Netherworld in the Netherland (Touhou/History Mix)
Post by: Karafuto on January 24, 2014, 06:36:15 AM
Pretty much.

As for a "crossover" timeline, I'm thinking about it, though I want to wait on that for a while (as well as waiting until February Seventh has passed).

-------------------

In the 1430s, a Portuguese ship begins to set sail to investigate the rumours of new land. The ship faces fierce storms along the way, and within a month, manage to land on the coast of OTL Rio Grande do Norte. The ship then reports back to Portugal of their findings, and soon the Portuguese begins colonising the area, and names the colony Brasil. Meanwhile, Castile later follows suit, once their ship lands on the coast of OTL Sucre, Venezuela. Twenty years later France joins in the colonisation as well, beginning in Cuba.

The Scandinavians and Frisians later run into the other emerging colonial powers and soon a few disputes arise. On the Western Side, the Chinese have decently colonised the Pacific Side and continue on expanding to the East. Another colony is founded by China in Southern Vinland called Qing'e (青娥), and a few weeks later the Chinese-Incan Wars begin. Within seven years, the Chinese managed to take all the land and absorb it into their colony.

The other European colonial powers also made their way to Africa and Asia starting in the 1480s. When they made their way to China, they took note of its power, and only established trade agreements. Portugal did attempt to gain a small port, but was unsuccessful in doing so. A few days later, Portugal soon established their own port on the island of Formosa (Taiwan), and built their own settlement, named Macau. Meanwhile, Spain went on to invade the Philippines, and conquered them by the 1510s.

Yuyuko and a group of Frisians made another trip to Japan in 1540. Once they got there, Yuyuko noticed a large civil war taking place. She went to have a look around carefully, and managed to take note of the major factions duing her visit. In Southern Honshū up to the Chūbu Region and Shikoku there was the Soga clan which was led by Soga no Yoshiharu and was aided by a green haired ghost and a recently resurrected Saint. In Northern Japan (which compromised the Tōhoku Region and Hokkaidō) there was the Mononobe clan which was led by Mononobe no Ujiyasu and aided by Mononobe no Futo. Finally in Kyūshū there is the Shimzau clan led by Shimazu Takahisa. Yuyuko decided to hand her support to the Soga clan, who quickly accepted her aid. The Ghost Princess went to stay behind for now and forwarded her message to Youmu. Once she got the message, the Half-Human Half-Phantom Gardener accepted Yuyuko's decision, and hoped the best for Japan.

With Frisian support, the Soga clan had a better chance at uniting Japan under their rule again. By the 1550s, the Soga clan manages to defeat the Shimazu clan and annex back Kyūshū. The fight against the Mononobe clan still remained difficult, but with the added support, are being slowly pushed back.  The Mononobes were pushed out of Honshū in the mid 1570s, and Hokkaidō was captured in 1585. Futo herself continued to fight on until 1587, when she decided to finally accept her clan's defeat. With the Civil War having ended, Soga Japan went on to sign an alliance with the Frisian Kingdom, and Yuyuko went to return back to Frisia again.

Back in Vinland, the French had begun expanding into Louisiana, while the Spanish were making their way into Central Vinland. Soon a war occurs in 1620 between France and Spain, over expansion and influence in Central Vinland and M?xico. This war lasted for a good six years, which saw victory for the Spanish side. Part of the Caribbean was ceded to Spain, and Spanish influence were established from M?xico to Panam?.

Concurrently, a war between Frisia and Portugal took place in South Vinland, though it expanded to Africa and the Far East, and lasted for much longer. Yuyuko and Youmu decided to stay out of the colonial war and not get involved unless Frisia itself was being invaded. Throughout the course of the war, Portugal managed to gain Frisian Brazil, recaptured Angola while Frisia managed to capture Portuguese outpost/colony of Macau in Formosa with the aid of Japan. When the war ended in 1653, a treaty was signed, and the Portuguese gains in South Vinland and Africa, along with the Frisian gains in the Far East, was validated and recognised.

By the 1720s, most of Vinland was divided between Spain, Portugal, and China, as well as France, Frisia, and Scandinavia (though the latter three were mainly focused in North Vinland only). The Iroquois Nation have long since fell under control of Scandinavia. Japan also had joined in the colonisation, and had begun colonising Alaska starting in the 1740s, roughly seventy years after Japan's conquest of Karafuto, the Chishima Islands, and a small portion of the OTL Russian Far East. The Japanese also established a small colony at OTL Seattle in 1760, but was disestablished thirty years later, and the area was later ceded to China.

In 1781, the Chinese colony in North Vinland went on to declare independence as the Federal Republic of Xiǎo T?nhu?ng (Chinese: 小弹簧;  literally "Small Spring"), though known as Arizona by the Europeans. China tried to regain Arizona, which set off the War of Independence. The war lasted for three years, with a loss for China. A treaty was then signed, and China recognised Arizona as an independent nation. In South Vinland, the Chinese colony of Qing'e remained loyal for now.

France, who aided Arizona in the War of Independence, was now starting to slowly crumble, soon giving way to their own revolution...

It's been a long time since a map update, so yeah.

But still good. I still enjoy it.

In 1789, France suffered a Revolution by the French Society. The Monarch tried to fight against the revolutionaries but it was no use. The Republicans were having the upper hand, including Frisian and Yuyuko's aid, and were winning. A few years later, King Louis XVI was overthrown in 1792 and was executed, and the Republic had formed. Within the same year, the French Revolutionary Wars also started up as soon as France begun declaring war on Austria. The opposing coalitions saw many defeats, and by 1802 the war ended, with France gaining a part of Italy and the Rhineland and the Frisians gaining a slice of Hannover. However, uneasy peace ensured and a little more than a year later, the Napoleonic Wars started up. Meanwhile in Asia, China begun colonising ?ozhōu (Australia) and New Zealand.

(World by 1802.) (http://i60.tinypic.com/fx86z8.png)

The Frisians, as well as Yuyuko and Youmu, were quick to side with France, and begun by invading the Holy Roman Empire. Scandinavia also joined in on France's side, and went on to fight the Celtic Kingdom. The Celts, despite posing a real challenge for the Scandinavians, were heavily defeated by 1806 and was dissolved. Scotland was annexed into Scandinavia while Wales and Ireland became satellite states. The Holy Roman Empire had fallen a year earlier, in 1805, and was split between the Frisians and French.

Napoleon continued on, and further, taking Italy all the way until Naples. Naples itself was turned into a French puppet and renamed into the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Following this, the French and her Allies stormed into Austria and Prussia.  With Youmu's speed and skills, the opposing coalitions stood almost no chance. By 1810, both nations fell to the hands of the French and Frisia. Concurrently, Portugal was annexed by Spain, with the monarch fleeing to Brazil. All Portuguese colonies were quickly taken and annexed by Brazil before the Spanish or French could get to them.

After a few weeks of preparation, France was ready to take on the Russian Empire. Within minutes, the Grande Arm?e had crossed the border and begun to advance into the nation. After suffering a few losses, the Russians, instead of fighting, decided to retreat and use scorched-earth tactics along the way, to hinder the invading forces. While effective at first, it soon began to fail as Youmu started to speed up and caught up to the Russians themselves. Despite being outnumbered, she went on to defeat and destroy the retreating Russians. Nevertheless, the scorched-earth tactics continued to be used hoping that the invaders would give up. However, the Russians continued to lose, and their strategy was becoming more unsuccessful each day, especially since some of them were being quickly defeated by the Ghost-Human Gardener before they had a chance to burn down major settlements. Youmu also managed to defeat the Russians in time before they tried to burn down Moscow, though the Tsar had already escaped.

By 1813 the French forces had managed to reach Kirov (a city in Kirov Oblast). At this point the Russians finally decided to abandon the scorched-earth tactics and decided to just fight. They ended suffering another major defeat, and with that, Napoleon continued on even further. Two months later the forces had arrived in Yekaterinburg, which was the city that Tsar Alexander I had resided in. Seeing no point in continuing fighting, the Tsar decided to surrender, and went to sign a treaty. After the signing, France gained a huge portion of Russia, with portions being given to Scandinavia and Persia. The Tsar moved the capital to Krasnoyarsk, and renamed his nation Siberia.

After the defeat of Russia, the Napoleonic Wars had ended, with a victory for France and her Allies, at a heavy cost. Hoping to gain some money, France offered to sell Arizona the Louisiana, Florida, and Midwest Territories for 75 million francs. The offer was too good to turn down, and Arizona went on to purchase the lands. With this, it provided plenty of more farmland for them, among other things. Meanwhile France gained the money needed to repair and rebuild, especially in the newly annexed lands.

Since beginning in the 1810s, the Spanish colonies in Vinland had revolted against their homeland and begun fighting for independence. These revolts were largely successful as Spain had greatly weakened and had no energy to stop them. Mexico was the first to gain independence, followed by Colombia, and then the Dominican Republic. Puerto Rico remained in the hands of Spain, and their independence movement was barley defeated.

The successful independence movements of Mexico, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic eventually led to French Cuba and the Chinese Viceroyalty of Qing'e having their own such movements starting in the 1860s. Despite China's best attempts, Qing'e managed to cede, with help from Arizona, and the Republic of Qing'e was established. In Cuba however, the French managed to keep them at bay for quite a while. Mexico, seeing an opportunity, decided to invade Cuba in 1892 and set off the Mexican-French War. The war lasted for a good five months, and ended on the Fifth of May in 1893 with the Mexicans successfully capturing and annexing Cuba.

In the early 1900s, the Ottoman Empire suffered a series of rebellions in the Balkans. France took the opportunity to fund these rebellions and even sent support to them, as did Yuyuko and Frisia. After a few years of fighting, the Ottomans lost Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Romania, and Bulgaria, though managed to keep Greece. A treaty was signed, and the ceded nations were recognised as independent. In 1910, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Macedonia merged together and formed Yugoslavia.

Starting in the 1930s, decolonisation had begun in some places. Any European colonies in Africa were let go over time and ended in 1960, with South Africa becoming the last nation to declare independence. In Asia, Frisian Formosa was given to China, China gave independence to ?ozhōu, and the Philippines gains independence from Spain after a long and lengthy war. In Vinland, Scandinavian Canada and Greenland both peacefully ceded after a referendum, and established the Republic of Canada. The European colonies in India were ceded to India.

In the late 1980s, France suffered a series of protests and rebellions appeared throughout the nation. The French government tried to quell them but it was very widespread and unsuccessful. The Empire finally collapsed by 1989, and many nations gained independence such as Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Switzerland. Slovenia and Croatia went on to merge into Yugoslavia, Moldova joined Romania, French Italy merged with the Two Sicilies to form Italy, and Muscovy merged with Siberia to reform Russia. In Scandinavia, the Finnish Region was given independence. Frisia, by request of Yuyuko and Youmu, ceded the German areas to Germany. In Spain, the government tried to crush their rebellion in the Portugal Province, but faced war with Brazil. After a two year war and having lost to Brazil, Spain gave independence to Portugal and also ceded Galicia to them.

Since then, peace had been established in the world.

In this next timeline, the next point of divergence takes place in 1853. A Taoist Saint is resurrected early, and still becomes a Shikaisen. She went out and soon experienced the forcible opening of Japan, as well as the singing of some unequal treaties. Also experiencing the major ideological-political divide, she decided to plan out to deal with the issues at hand.

In China, also taking a hit from the unequal treaties, Seiga vowed to do something if her nation had to sign one more unequal treaty with a Western nation.

Toyosatomimi no Miko continued to observe and plan, and tensions were ever rising. In 1856, the Second Opium War had broke out. Fed up with the West, Seiga went on to fight against the Anglo-French Forces. Once at the sight of the battle, she used her spell cards and managed to heavily destroy the invading armies. The Anglo-French Forces were shocked by the amount of power, but nevertheless tried to continue fighting. However, it was no use, and many of their troops and ships were destroyed by the Hermit. A year later, the opposing forces surrendered, and ended in a Chinese victory.

In 1858, more unequal treaties were introduced to both China and Japan. In the former, a few weeks before the Treaty of Aigun, Seiga went to fight against the Russians that threatened the local population with expulsion. Within hours, the Russo-Chinese War had erupted, and Russia ordered an invasion of China. However, they were quickly pushed back, and suffered major losses. The war lasted for five months, and ended with a Chinese Victory. As a result, Russia moved out of the Chinese lands in Manchuria, especially from the Amur areas, and the Treaty of Aigun was never introduced.

In the latter, Japan had signed five separate treaties from five different nations. Miko, after enough planning, begun to take a tour to the West, under a disguise. During her trip, she observed and studied their technology and sciences very carefully. After about seven years, she returned back into Japan, and seeing the continued rising tensions, went to meet with the Shogun and Emperor. Two years of discussion later, in 1867, Tokugawa Yoshinobu agreed to resign and give power to the Emperor. A few days later, the Shogunate was dissolved, and the Dajokan (Great Council of State) was established by Emperor Meiji, with some changes. Rapid industrialisation and modernisation also begun, with the aid of Miko, to compete and be on par with the Western Powers.

Later in 1876, after more talks between Miko and Meiji, the Emperor agreed to reform the government. The Dajokan was dissolved, and a year later, a constitution was written, turning the nation into a Constitutional Monarchy, and the Prime Minister office was established. The first elections took place a few weeks later, and lasted until the first month in 1878. Miko, being one of the candidates, won the elections and became the First Prime Minister of Japan, beating both Itō Hirobumi and Reimu Hakurei. Under her rule, Japan became even more prosperous and powerful.

Several months later, Miko went on to visit Korea, China, and Siam. During her trips, she met with the leaders of those nations and encouraged them to industrialise and strengthen themselves. With enough convincing, the Monarchs had agreed and a week later, a friendship trade treaty was signed between the four nations. After a short war from 1884 to 1885 between China and France over the control of Tonkin, Miko, Korea, China, and Siam came together and established the Association of Independent Asian Nations, a political, economic, and military organisation aimed to better cooperate with each another and also defend as one.

The organisation take part in their first conflict, at the Franco-Siamese War in 1893. The four came together and fought off the French, and within weeks after suffering heavy losses, France decided to end the war and withdraw from Siamese Laos. The organisation also took part in the Boxer Rebellion, intervening on the side of China against the Seven Nation Alliance (United Kingdom, Russia, France, USA, Germany, and Austria-Hungary) that also intervened. The conflict dragged on until 1902, when the Seven Nation Alliance decided to surrender and a treaty was signed. In it, the Alliance agreed to withdraw their missionaries, pay reparations,  and establish a non-aggression pact.

Despite the victory, the Qing Dynasty continued to weaken slowly, soon giving way to the Xinhai Revolution in 1913. Upon the overthrow of the monarchy, the Republic of China was established. Worried of the situation in China, Miko, Korea, and Siam went to make sure the Western powers don't try to take advantage of the situation. After Yuan Shikai's unsuccessful attempt to establish himself as Emperor of China, and his death in 1916, China continued to fracture further and plunged into the Warlord Era. Once China was reunified in 1928, it descended into Civil War between the Kuomintang and the Communists.

During the Civil War, Kuomintang leader Chiang Kai-shek and Kaku Seiga looked for outside support, and asked Korea, Japan, and Siam for support. The governments quickly agreed, and begun to aid the Kuomintang in the Civil War. The Communists, met with much opposition, begun seeing quick losses, and by year 1934, were utterly defeated and the Communist Chinese Party leaders were executed. After the Civil War, China begun to repair itself with aid from its allies.

In later 1939, a War broke out in Europe. Once France and the Lowland Countries fell to Germany in 1940, the Association of Independent Asian Nations took note and entered the war on the Allied Side. The forces launched an invasion of French Vietnam and the Dutch East Indies to occupy them temporarily. Once the War in Europe ended, Miko called for the Western powers to begin the decolonisation in East, South-East, and South Asia. Not wanting to face war, the Colonial Empires reluctantly agreed to do so.

With the Cold War rising, and after a long meeting, Japan, Korea, China, and Siam planned out to fully unite into one nation. Negotiations were successful,  and by 1955, the East Asian Federation was established. Miko became elected as President, while Chiang Kai-shek was elected as Vice-President, and Kaku Seiga was elected as Primer. With the combination of the Four Great Powers into one, their influence greatly expanded and strengthened throughout South and South East Asia. Tensions between the Three Superpowers and their respective blocs were quite tense as well and competed against one another.

By the 1990s, these tensions would die out and the Cold War came to an end. The Soviet Union had collapsed in 1992, and split into thirteen new nations. The USA and the East Asian Federation went to improve relations with each other, and both would remain superpowers.

Toyosatomimi no Miko remains President of the East Asian Federation to this day.

In this next timeline, is the finale of the First Season. As such, there are several points of divergence. It all starts in China, in year 587. Seiga Kaku is enjoying her time, and decides to visit Japan. Once there, she hears about the Battle of Shigisan taking place at the moment, and goes to check it out.

Meanwhile in South East Asia, the Khmer Empire, under rule of Byakuren Hijiri, was expanding greatly and remains undetected by Seiga for now...
Title: The Finale (Touhou/History Mix)
Post by: Karafuto on April 05, 2014, 04:22:25 AM
By the time Seiga arrived, the Battle of Shigisan had ended with a partial Mononobe victory. The Soga Clan were pushed Northwards, and the Mononobe clan went on to advance. The next major battle between the two clans took place on October 588, in the Mino Province, near OTL Tarui. During mid-battle, Seiga went to intervene and sided with the Soga clan. However, not wanting to see her clan lose, Futo entered the battle to help them out. After a few months of fighting, the battle ended in a huge stalemate, and Japan became divided between the Soga clan in the North and the Mononobe clan in the South.

Despite this, Japan didn't remain divided for long. In the year 595, the Soga clan invaded Mononobe controlled Japan, with the help of Seiga, Tojiko, and Miko. The Mononobe clan was overwhelmed, even with Futo's help, and were suffering quick defeats. By next month, the Soga clan managed to defeat Mononobe no Moriya, leader of the Mononobe clan, and united the island nation.

Further down South in Asia, Byakuren Hijiri begun launching an invasion of the Indian Subcontinent, after having united South East Asia. She had many successes early on, and managed to conquer the small Indian Kingdoms by the Eastern Coast, and also took Sri Lanka. Taking note of her expansion, the Chalukya Dynasty, Kingdom of Magadha, and the Kalachuri Dynasty all merged into one nation and established the Indian Empire. A few months after their formation, Byakuren had launched an invasion and begun storming through.  She wasn't able to get far, and begun to lose ground. A few weeks later, the Buddhist Monk went to retreat and called for peace. India agreed, and a treaty was signed with the Khmer Empire ending the war between them.

Meanwhile in Europe, Yuyuko and Youmu had arrived in Frisia. Later, they aided the Frisians and fought against the Franks. Frisia had won and managed to gain control of OTL Netherlands and Northern Belgium. Then, just roughly One Hundred Years after that, Sekibanki appeared in Ireland, and went to unify the island. Both her and the Ghosts would not run into each other until much later.

Back in East Asia, Goguryeo had managed to unify the Korean Peninsula under their rule. The Tang Dynasty was prospering and expanding, and had just annexed the Kingdom of Nanzhao.  When they started to invade Tibet however, Byakuren quickly declared war on China to defend the Buddhist nation. Within a few weeks, the Tibetans and Khmers were able to advance fairly well, and took parts of Southern China. Despite this, they soon were pushed back when Seiga herself entered the war on the side of China. The war lasted for three wars, and ended in a status quo, with neither side gaining anything.

Tensions remained between the two empires, and both sought to expand their influence. The Indian Empire, sceptical of the Khmers, went to ally with China. Indonesia soon became a major place for conflict, with India and the Khmers constantly competing for influence. Miko and Tojiko, not wanting to get involved, had Japan declared neutrality. They would, however, begin expanding into Northern Honshu, Hokkaido, and OTL Sakhalin Oblast, and have some influence over the Ryukyu Islands.

In Europe, there had been some wars and conflicts too. The Scandinavians had risen to become a decent power, and discovered Vinland. The Netherlands (formerly Frisia) was in peace with its neighbours, as neither the French or the HRE wanted to deal with Yuyuko and Youmu. The Irish had influence in Scotland and Wales, and protected them from the English. Aside from this, not much else had happened elsewhere in the continent and proceeded much like OTL for a while.

In 1206, the Mongol Empire had formed and went on a series of conquests. China was taken by surprise, though they managed to mobilise their army and begun fighting against them. Despite this, the Mongols were able to have the upper hand for quite a while. In the meantime, they expanded into Central Asia, Siberia, Persia, and by 1245, made their way into Europe. Tibet was also invaded by them, which prompted Byakuren to have the Khmer Empire partake in the war against Mongolia. With this, Seiga Kaku was able to fight against the invaders without worry of invasion from the South. The Mongol Empire was eventually defeated and had collapsed in 1268. China had gained OTL Mongolia and a huge portion of Siberia, with the most far eastern parts, such as Kamchatka, were taken by Japan. Tibet was able to get portions of OTL Xinjiang and a tiny part of Central Asia. The rest of the former empire were split into three new nations.

Shortly after the war, tensions between China and the Khmer Empire had been toned down slightly. Conflicts between both sides continued however, and shortly after discovering Vinland in the 1500s, had competed for colonies and influence there. At the same time however, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, and a few other European nations also had landed on the new continent, and were setting up their own colonies. They also begun to set sail for Asia, looking for new trade routes...

Title: The Finale (Touhou/History Mix)
Post by: Karafuto on May 04, 2014, 01:58:47 AM
By the late 1500s, the Europeans made their way into Asia through a new route, by sea. The Portuguese were among the first, and went to establish trade with India, Cambodia, and China. The Spanish followed shortly after, and made their attempt to take the Philippines from the Khmers. Despite Byakuren's efforts, the Spanish were able to achieve a decisive victory against her, and went on to win the war. With the capture of the Philippines and the establishment of the Spanish East Indies, tensions between China and the Khmers begun to decline, though friendly relations wouldn't happen until later on.

Later, in the 1530s, Yuyuko with a few Dutch ships went to visit the East. When the Ghost Princess had arrived in Cambodia, she ran into Byakuren, and were surprised to see each other. An hour of talking later, Yuyuko continued on her trip. She went to China next, and met with Seiga. After that, she travelled to Japan. Once there, she stayed a few nights and came across Miko, Tojiko, and Futo. Upon having a trade deal and an alliance signed with the three nations, Ghost Princess sailed back to the Netherlands, and would make frequent visits back as well.

Meanwhile in the New World, there had been many colonial conflicts. Some examples include the Chinese and Spanish over Mexico and Central Vinland, the Dutch and English on the East Coast, the French and Irish over Eastern Canada. The Scandinavians also attempted to establish a colony on the East Coast and Nova Scotia, which were unsuccessful. In South Vinland, most of the area was divided between the Khmers and the Portuguese, while the Spanish managed to barley establish a colony in OTL Colombia. The Japanese colonised Alaska with no opposition and also colonised Yukon and a part of OTL British Columbia.

A few decades later in India, the Scandinavians begun to set up their own trading company along the coast around Mah?. Soon, they also attempted to set up more ports along the Cambodian-held Indian coast. A few of these were successful, though the one they tried to set up around Bengal didn't go so well at first. The English, having arrived around seven years after the Scandinavians, also begun setting up their own company and ports. Seeing the Bengal area as profitable, the English went to pursue it. They then temporary teamed up with the Scandinavians and fought a war with Cambodia. They both managed to win, and selected their cities to set up their trade ports in. Serampore and Chinsura were taken by the Scandinavians, while the English took Kolkata.

Shortly after the loss, the Cambodian Empire was on an Era of Decline. Starting in 1730, some rebellions had sprung up across Cambodian India. While some areas had minor ones, the major areas of protests occurred in Bengal and Southern India. The English saw an opportunity, and begun to fight over Bengal. Then, when they and Byakuren were fighting in that area, new states in South India had formed: the Thanjavur Kingdom and Madurai. The two states allied themselves with India, and had heavily built up their defences just in case the Buddhist Monk tried to go after them. They got lucky, as after the English won over Bengal, Byakuren was too exhausted and beat up to even think of regaining the lost areas. Starting to get a headache of the rebellions in India, she decided to just cede all of her remaining holdings there to the Indian Empire.

Hearing about the events unfolding in South and South East Asia, Seiga decided to take a diplomatic visit to Cambodia. Upon meeting with Byakuren, Seiga seen that she was in a depressed state. The Hermit went to calm her, and offered to start having friendly relations, between Cambodia and China, and also an alliance. Byakuren, willing to cooperate, agreed and hugged her. Seiga blushed a bit, and hug in return. Shortly after the signing of the alliance, India and Tibet were offered to take part in it. They both agreed, and soon the Pacific-Indian Ocean Pact had been formed.

In Europe, a few major events happened. England managed to take Wales, while Ireland and Scotland went to unite into the Celtic Kingdom. The Dutch had expanded to include parts of Niedersachsen and Nordrhein-Westfalen along with taking Luxembourg and the rest of Belgium after winning a major war against the Holy Roman Empire in the mid-1600s. Russia attempted to expand into Siberia, but upon running into China, the Russians ended up getting crushed by them, and quickly decided to end the expansion. In the Great Northern War, Scandinavia managed to take the Kola Peninsula and Karelia from Russia, though Poland-Lithuania still suffered a defeat.

By 1765, the colonies in North Vinland were set in stone. France had control of most of Canada and the Louisiana Territory; the Dutch had OTL New England and New York; the English had the rest of the Thirteen Colonies not under Dutch control plus everything east of the Mississippi River; the Spanish had all the Caribbean, Mexico, and portions of the OTL Southwest US; the Chinese had California, the Oregon Territory, and Central Vinland; and the Japanese have the rest. The Celts ended up losing their holding of Vinland to the French sometime in the 1680s. In Oceania, the Srivijayans begun to colonise Australia, while China begun colonising New Zealand.

Then, in 1778, the English colony in Vinland was the first to rebel, and the War of Independence took place. It resulted in a victory, and the United States had been established. A similar, though more peaceful, rebellion occurred in New Netherland a few weeks afterwards. Yuyuko was willing to let them go, only on the condition that they remained allied with the Netherlands. The New Netherlanders agreed, and were then given independence.

France suffered a major revolution in 1789, and a the Revolutionary Wars followed. In 1804, Napoleon Bonaparte went into power, and set off another war, the Napoleonic Wars. Yuyuko had the Dutch side with France, while Sekibanki had the Irish side with the English. While England and Scandinavia was distracted during the war, India and its allies (Tibet, China, Cambodia, Thanjavur and Madurai) invaded the English and Scandinavian colonies. Despite England and Scandinavia's best efforts to defend the colonies, India managed to take and annex them in 1807.

The Napoleonic Wars continued on, and by 1812, it was beginning to turn into a stalemate followed by a losing point for the French. The war lasted another two years before France and Yuyuko sued for peace in 1814. A treaty was then signed, and in it, France was able to keep a portion of Italy and the Rhineland while the Netherlands had to cede back the lands it gained during the war. Napoleon was to be exiled to St Helena. After the war, France went on to sell the Louisiana Territory to the United States for a total of 70 million francs.

More independence movements sprung across most of the colonies both North and South Vinland starting in 1810. Mexico was the first to cede, followed by Venezuela, Brazil, New Ayutthaya (former Cambodian colony in South Vinland), Jiāl?f?n?yǎ (California), and New Quanzhou (Central Vinland). Canada and the Caribbean also had small rebellions, but were taken down by the French and Spanish military. New Shōtoku was the only colony to remain loyal to Japan.

In 1830, a few issues begun to arose in Mexican Texas due to the increasing US settlers that were moving there. However, it was more than just that, and soon enough, a witch had landed in Dallas...

Hi.

I'm new to this site, after eight months of amateur playing and still trying to achieve a 1cc on IN Normal.

Just recently popped into this section, read a good couple of fanfics, and found yours particularly interesting in the way it bends the current timeline simply from some point in the past (divergence) and leading to vastly different worlds (and empires) on the way. The idea on using Mamizou's Time Machine to observe the future, then returning to intervene was particularly brilliant. Like it, ze! (Gets slammed by Alice...)

So far, we have, other than the featured Seiga leading China:
(Story 1) Mamizou leading Japan, Yorihime leading Luna (Moon), a murdered Reimu, and ZUN introducing Rin & Marisa to Windows
(Story 2) Mamizou leading Japan, Futo as peace ambassador, an expansionist Prime Minister Reimu, and ZUN's works as above
(Story 3) Futo leading Japan, An industrialist Prime Minister Reimu, Yukari leading Gensokyo (with other denizens Hina, Iku, Mokou?). ZUN's works as above, with also Tojiko replacing Futo and Byakuren replacing Mamizou
(Story 4) Byakuren leading Khmer-India, Reimu as Japanese Defense Minister, Mamizou helps to avert a Sino-Indian nuclear war with Nitori's time machine, and Meiling as a Chinese space rebel
(Story 5) Mamizou leading Japan, Futo ruling Japanese South America and Reimu ruling Japanese Panama
(Story 6) Sekibanki leading Ireland, Reimu (then Mamizou) leading WW2-Japan, Yoshika as Seiga's underling, and an invincible Meiling leading Communist Vietnam
(Story 7) Marisa leading Texas, Futo leading Japan, and Reimu as a Japanese traveller/ambassador
(Story 8 ) Youmu leading Frisia (Netherlands?), Yuyuko as a wanderer, Tojiko, Miko and Futo as clan leaders
(Story 9) Miko leading Japan (beating politician Reimu)
(Story 10) Byakuren leading Cambodia, Yuyuko leading the Netherlands, possibly Marisa leading Texas, and Futo as a clan leader.
So far, IMO, Stories 6 and 9 seem closely based on OTL.

Some suggestions:
In the next season, perhaps you can base some Touhou characters in South America, Africa, the Middle East and even Oceania? Or include some characters as pioneers in industry, philosophers and religious cultists (maybe some Flandre, Parsee or Shikieiki :D). That would create a really interesting quasi-Gensokyan world history. Bring ZUN back too, if OTL in 1998-2014 fits the plot.

Looking forward to more interesting timesplit chronicles, and the redrawing of boundaries of empires. Thanks for the good read!

Those are some interesting suggestions, and will be taking a look into some of them
(especially the industry, philosophers and religious cultists)
.
On a side note, I already have a few ideas for South America, and will be the focus on one of the timelines within the next season.
Thanks for the ideas! :)

------------

As months went by, the situation continued to grow. Taking note of it, Marisa decided to help fuel those who strive for independence. With this, the Texas War of Independence had begun to take place by 1833. The Magician led the Texans and achieved many victories against Mexico. Nevertheless, the war lasted for two years with a huge Texan victory, and managed to cede. A treaty was signed, and Mexico recognised Texas as independent. Elections were held in the new nation, with Marisa becoming President.

With Marisa's power and influence, staying independent became a popular thing for the Texans. However, the US still had their eyes on them having planned to annex them. Once James K. Polk was elected President of the US in 1845, he made offers of joining the Union to Texas, New Netherland, and Jiāl?f?n?yǎ. They all declined, and a few weeks later, Polk declared war on them. This set off the Great Vinlandian War.

Invasion of Texas proved difficult, as Marisa successfully repelled them off with her Mini-Hakkero. New Netherland and Jiāl?f?n?yǎ were somewhat easier to deal with, and it seemed victory was going to be achieved. However, after news about the war was heard, Yuyuko and the Netherlands quickly came to aid New Netherland, while Kaku Seiga and China came to aid Jiāl?f?n?yǎ. The US then saw heavy defeats, and were fully pushed out of the three nations. Unable to cope with their strength, Polk decided to surrender. A peace treaty was signed, ending the war, and returned to status quo.  After the war, Yuyuko and Seiga offered Texas an alliance in which Marisa accepted.

In Asia, Thanjavur and Madurai had held referendums for the decision to join India in 1849. They both passed with a 87% and 89% majority, respectively, and following this, they merged by next year. In Japan, attempts to reform the system of government was met with opposition, mainly in the northern areas, and in 1860, a civil war broke out. Niigata, Tōhoku, Hokkaidō, Karafuto, and Reiuzi (Kamchatka) all ceded to form the Ezo Shogunate, led by Tokugawa Iemochi. Miko and Tojiko quickly led the invasion of the unrecognised nation.

The Imperial forces managed to reach up to Sado and Sōma before facing a brief stalemate. The Tokugawa forces, while putting up a good fight, were slowly being pushed back. Nevertheless, they were successful in stalling them in quite a few battles. By the Third Month of 1862, the Imperial forces had managed to reach the city of Aomori. It took a week for the city to be captured, and the rest of Honshū just three days later. Following this, the Imperial forces went on and begun to fight the Tokugawa at the Tsugaru Strait.

The Battle of Tsugaru Strait proved to be quite difficult for the Imperial forces. The Tokugawa ships had heavily guarded the entrance to Hokkaidō, and decently devastated the Imperial fleet. Miko ended up getting quite injured during the battle, and had to withdraw. Tojiko quickly escorted her to a health centre, where she would be looked after. In the meantime, some more fleets from Kyūshū, Shikoku, and Hawaii had arrived to fight against the Tokugawa. The stalemate continued for the next few months, to no avail. Upon Tojiko's return to aid the Imperialists, they went on to finally defeat the enemy fleet on the Fourth Month of 1863. With this, they landed in Hokkaidō at the city of Hakodate.

Within weeks after landing, Hakodate was captured by the Imperialists. Hearing this, Tokugawa Iemochi went to flee to Kitatoyokawa (OTL Palana, Kamchatka Krai) and built up more defences around Karafuto and the Chishima Islands. It didn't matter much, as Tojiko was now using her full power to crush the opposition.  Hokkaidō soon fell under control of the Imperialist five months later, and despite the defences, advanced on. While the Imperialists were fighting the Tokugawa at the Chishima, Tojiko went to invade Karafuto first.

Upon securing the island two months later, the ghost arrived back to once again to strike down the enemy navy. From there, the Imperial forces had arrived in Reiuzi (Kamchatka). Stalemates were no longer seen from this point on, and towns easily fell with the battles no longer lasting more than a week and a half. On the second week of the Eighth Month of 1864, the forces finally arrived at Kitatoyokawa. Tokugawa Iemochi, seeing as there is no point to continue decides to end the war and officially surrendered. With this, the Ezo Shogunate was annexed back into Japan, and peace was achieved.

A few months after the war, Miko was fully recovered from her injuries, and went on with her plans to reform the government. In 1871, she created a constitution, and established a Parliament along with the Prime Minister office. The first elections were held a month later, and the candidates were Itō Hirobumi and Reimu Hakurei. In the Second Month of 1872, the results came back, with a victory for Itō, becoming Japan's first Prime Minister. Reimu would later become Prime Minister after winning the elections in 1886, however.

Back in Vinland, the Spanish Caribbean had revolted again, aiming to declare independence. Spain went to try to suppress the revolts, though soon the United States got involved, entering on the side of the Caribbean Rebels. Marisa followed into the war on the side of Spain, shortly after the US got involved. The war continued for a year, and ended with a partial victory for the US. A treaty was then signed, in which Spain had to recognise Cuban and Hispaniola independence,  though Spain was able to keep the other possessions.

Elsewhere, the Scramble for Africa had taken place, and the continent was divided between China, India, the Khmer Empire, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, and England. In Europe, tensions were ever rising, and some predict a war would eventually come...

Tensions in Europe had reached a boiling point once Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip, and setted off the Great War in Europe. While Sekibanki had Ireland entered the war on the side of the Allies right away, Yuyuko decided to declare neutrality. However, more trouble rose when the Zimmermann Telegram was sent by Germany to the US declaring support for them to take Texas, New Netherland, and Jiāl?f?n?yǎ. Fortunately, President Woodrow Wilson showed no interest in joining a war he'd know he would lose, and knew better to not mess with powerful people such as Marisa and Yuyuko. Nevertheless, the Netherlands, Texas, and Seiga's China declared war on the Central Powers upon hearing the German attempt to gain allies elsewhere. With Youmu, Yuyuko, Marisa, and Seiga themselves also taking part in the war, the Central Powers were defeated by August 1917. Following a few treaties, Germany was harshly restricted (like OTL) and Austria-Hungary was to dissolve. The Ottoman Empire, while they sided with the Central Powers originally, they managed to withdraw and signed a separate peace treaty with the Allies, and though they lost a bit of land, they managed to remain fairly intact.

After the war, the Russian Empire suffered a revolution and was succeeded by the Soviet Union, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, had fallen to Fascism, while Germany soon came under control of National Socialists. In China, the Communists led by Mao Zedong and Hong Meiling led revolts against Seiga's China. With the help of Byakuren along with Indian and Cambodian support, Seiga was able to suppress the Communist revolts within two years and had the leaders sent to life in prison.

In Japan, Reimu had plans to take the Philippines from Spain to put under her rule. When Spain had fell into civil war in 1936, Reimu quickly went and launched an invasion of their possession. Upon hearing of this, Byakuren sought to get back her former territory and declared war as well. The Shrine Maiden didn't take this too kindly and decided to declare war on Cambodia. This move not only had Seiga, India, and Tibet get involved and sided with Byakuren, but had disgusted Miko and Tojiko as well and caused them to intervene and forcibly cancel Reimu's plans and expelled her from the Prime Minister position. Shortly afterwards, peace was achieved between Japan and Cambodia with its allies, and Miko went on to have Japan join the Pacific-Indian Ocean Pact. Miko also had Japan's Prime Minister position was also held off for a few years until 1943 when elections for the position were able to take place again, with Shigeru Yoshida managing to win and became the first Prime Minister to succeed Reimu. The Philippines fell under full Cambodian control after a few months of war; and after the Spanish Civil War ended in Republican victory, the new Republican government had accepted the loss of the Philippines and recognised them as being a part of Cambodia again.

Back in Europe, the Second European War had broke out already in 1939 with Germany invading Poland and Hungary taking Slovakia. Taking no chance this time around, Yuyuko and Youmu, along with Marisa had the Netherlands and Texas respectively entered the war alongside with the other Allies (British, Irish, French, and Soviets). The Axis were harshly pushed back, and was defeated within two and a half years. While the Soviets were able to secure Eastern Europe, Poland, Hungary, and the Balkans, the Allies managed to have all of Germany and Italy under their control. A Cold War then emerged, with the Comintern on one side and the  Allies on the other.

When decolonisation took place, the Soviets funded a few revolutions in revolting colonies to gain more support for their side. However, while a few of them (such as the Congo, Kenya, and Angola) turned communist, most of them had crushed any communist movements, especially colonies previously under Indian, Cambodian, Dutch, and Chinese rule in which they had their help.

Despite the continuous setbacks, the Soviets were determined to keep ahead of their game, and begun racing them to space. The Allies responded just as quick, and soon they had managed to launch the first artificial satellite (created jointly between China, Cambodia, Japan and India) and managed to get the first person in space (by both Pacific-Indian Ocean Pact and European Space Agency). The Soviets later responded and after much hard work and effort, managed to get people on Luna and had planted a Soviet flag. While it did shock the Allies that the Soviets were able to do this, a few of them, mainly Marisa, Yuyuko, Youmu, Byakuren and a few others were highly concerned of a possible Lunarian war against Earth. A few minutes later, the Soviets on Luna ended up running into the Watatsuki sisters. After a short conversation and with warnings from the Lunarians, the Soviets had withdrew their flag and quickly fled back home. This encounter ended up hindering Soviet morale and later saw a withdraw from the Space Race shortly after the Allies managed to get people on Mars.

About a decade later, the Comintern had gave way and broke apart. The Soviet Union itself had lasted a while longer, before collapsing in 1992 and marked the true end of the Cold War.

Since then, not much had happened and the world was more or less in peace. In the 2020s, some of the Earth nations such as China, Cambodia, India, Japan, Ireland, the Netherlands, and a few others had managed to establish friendly relations with the Lunarians.
