Well, this costume was an unexpected one. Due to Mokou and Kaguya was busy, we left the two girls alone. So I was called by them as a staff in Tovocah2 Concert.
Tovocah2 is probably the Second Touhou and Vocaloid Doujin Singers' Concert. It happened that no Reimu and Miku in both staffs team and Singers team. So even it is a Koumajou Version, they call me to do it.

Oh, I am sorry, because of a hell girl in CC10 this January, I failed to show you the photos. But Next month, there will be two exhibition CF03 in May 13th and CP10 in May 27th. I won't be Koumajou Reimu again but I will be Konpaku Youki.

Mini Hakkero Lasercut Version Front:
Received LEDs and came up with hopefully the correct resistors/power arrangement

Ahh, cardboard. The poor man's PCB.


Started poking the LEDs through based on my design while setting up the leads so that they match the circuit.


Started soldering and snipping the leads... hopefully I didn't reverse any of the LEDs :/


All the LED wiring is done!! Looks somewhat like a mini-arc reactor....


Whew, what a mess. I really hope I didn't screw up with the design or with the resistor calculations... de-soldering that is impossible.



Tengu Geta Front
Found a co-worker that is able to lend me a nice tablesaw. It fraking weighs like 400 pounds lolz.


Gonna try making it out of Pine first... since 3 inch thick pieces of wood is hard to find and pricy to obtain... Will try combining 3 pine studs together first.


Glue is now dry, so took it to the tablesaw for some squaring, trimming to size, and the a rough-cut set of beveled edges.

Finished the waistband clasp. The skirt is now FINISHED!

A few hours of cutting wood and I have 1 proof-of-concept shoe.

Thanks, making the scroll was fun and I'm glad a lot of people liked it :3 I was there as Satori during part of Day 1 until I changed for the Type-Moon shoot. The arteries were getting in my way so I stayed as Byakuren for the rest of the time I was there.

For Acen I dressed up as Yuyuko. Was my first time experience with cosplaying and I might have wanted to make some improvements, but I'll get to learn

As for future cosplays, I've to decide among Eirin, Aya, Tenshi, and Alice... Well, gotta come to this thread more often to ask for suggestions and what not :3

Well, I will be Youki two weeks later. Probably, there will be two comic exhibition this month. First one is CF03, May 13th in Guangda Exhibition Hall. Then the second one is CP10 in EXPO Africa Mansion (Right now is called EXPO Hall).
I have no choice but choose Youki as my costume, I don't want to be Rinnosuke for that Rinnosuke will ended up be "killed" by other characters. Then a friend of mine will attend CF03 as well. He wants to borrow one of my costume. I list 6 costumes I have.
1, Kagamine Len (Vocaloid)
2, Hiragi Saito (Zero no Tsukaima)
3, Morichika Rinnosuke (Touhou)
4, Hakurei Reimu (Koumajou Desetsu)
5, Koupaku Youki (Touhou)

He chose Saito as he wants to see a girl who is Louise.

With the prototype shoe working pretty good, started on the "final" pair of shoes with a bit of tweaking to the order which I cut everything... Started agagin by gluing together some 2x4's...


Actually had to glue 4 pieces together because the wood was so warped. By the time I was able to square the individual studs, and then resquare the block, the width was smaller then my planned width D: So I had to glue another piece on and spend another day waiting for the glue to dry.


With the block dried, I cut the length, width, and height to size, and also the hole for the ha (tooth).


with that done, I shaped the slanted bits under the ha to lighten it and support the Ha. Also cut the ha to size and pounded it in.

A friend of mine wants to make another costume as Marisa. But after the clothes had been done, we found out that items are not ready. Something important is Mini Hakkero, but after he saw these images, he said it's too complex to make it.

Well, there is no time for him, I think of it. We will probably attend to the exhibition this Sunday and I wonder if there will be someone whose costume is Rinnosuke or not. I think that it could be. If there is a case, we will send him to the "hell" again. I have Rinnosuke's costume as well, but I won't be Rinnosuke but Youki.

Well, you could always make a papercraft version of the mini hakkero... would still look decent if you had a color printer....

Why not make one out of cardboard, or paper, as Bob suggested? I tried making one for a non-cosplay occasion. I even tried putting something that I can light on fire on the center without it setting the whole Hakkero on fire - I was going for a strip of magnesium. Never got to see it work because I never tested it in the first place lol

8x RECHARGEABLE AAA batteries (1.3 volts vs 1.5volts) for a total of 10.4 volts in series. I decided on AAA batteries because AA wont fit in the mini hakkero based on my calculations. I wanted at least 9.6 volts so i could drive three 3.2 volt leds without wiring a resistor to each one.
