I don't think MarisaA's worthless either.  with all options hitting she does as much damage as MarisaB (no glitch), and you can space the options as you please.

Also, splash damage is love.

ReimuC is at least useful for shotgunning.
MarisA has basically no redeeming value, considering MarisaB (her high damage comparison) is weaker than ReimuB and spacing her options out doesn't really help anything IMO.

I use ReimuB or MarisaC if I want to win, and ReimuA if I feel like taking it ijji  :yukkuri:
The only downside to using ReimuA for the reasons BaityMS mentioned is that I'm neurotic about my spell card history, which ReimuA doesn't help :(

Hey, I said she does as much as MarisaB, not "MarisaA/B's damage is amazing", don't put words in my mouth :V

If you're going for damage, then indisputably ReimuB/MarisaC.  If you want a less focused type, then ReimuA's the best choice, but MarisaA's not outright terrible either.  ReimuC is utter garbage.

And no-bug MarisaB's just kind of there.

Although, I've been trying to get used to MarisaC for the heck of unlocking the Extra Stage. I tried out ReimuA but it takes a lot longer to kill bosses with her even though the stages themselves become 80% easier. Everyone else either sucks or is buggy (lolMarisaB)

Surprisingly, even though people say MoF is easier than most Touhou games, I can't unlock the Extra stage. On top of that, the only game that I've unlocked the extra stage for is Subterranean Animism, which is meant to be the hardest Touhou out.

I'm lame and take ReimuB for MoF.

But it is a damn easy game so really I could probaby get away with anyone.

For fun, I use Marisa A. I love the Gradius-style options, and it's fun to try out different setups of them. For serious runs, I use either Reimu B or Marisa C. I like to alternate between all of them, though. Sometimes using inferior characters is fun, since you get to see more of the spellcards instead of destroying each one in ten seconds.

MarisaB unfocused at 3 power will do so much damage, it'll end just about every spellcard before it can even get a chance to get a bullet near your hitbox.

If you're using the vsync patch there's a bug fix for it in there, though.

I use...
REIMU C
Trivialize stages until stage 4...well, on hard I didn't reach Aya, but it was my 3rd try (oh dear Nitori...the nonspells...wtf)
