Title: New account registrations temporarily disabled
Post by: Edible on March 03, 2014, 11:51:13 PM
Hi,

We've temporarily disabled new user accounts due to a mass influx of bots registering accounts to spam with.  Additionally, any accounts with less than 1 post will not be able to post for the time being.

We'll revert this change after a while.  Thank you!

That sucks.

Do we have Capcha protection for account registration? Or maybe some kind of touhou question that you could google easily / most fans would know? ie "What's the first name of the Hakurei Shrine Maiden?"
An idle suggestion, at least.

We do have those.

This is mostly theoretical, but if someone is desperate to sign up (and not as a banned sockpuppet, which seems to be the problem), would they be able to contact an admin for manual setup and approval?

I suppose they could use the irc channel.

Account registrations reenabled and people under 3 posts can post again (with the usual caveats of passing a captcha)
