Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- has been announced at Arc System Works Festival.
Daisuke Ishiwatari will be the game's director.
And it will be 2.5D using the Unreal Engine.

OMFG HYPE

GET HYPE! :toot: :o :flowerpower:
The use of Unreal is extremely interesting, I will say. Makes the idea of a PC port significantly more feasible (though hopefully it won't be as botched as the BB:CT PC version).

I'm just really happy at this point that Guilty Gear isn't stagnating anymore. I'm wondering though who else of the old cast they'll bring back? I had quite a fun time using May in X and XX.
-
I don't care about Guilty Gear, but I do really enjoy Arc Systems' more recent games and this looks a lot like those, so I'll probably be picking it up at some point. Given how huge the delay between the Blazblue 3 arcade and home release (not even accounting for the fact that it will take us even longer to get outside of Japan) is it safe to assume that this will be a next generation game by the time the console version comes out? At any rate, I want my Guilty Gear vs. Blazblue vs. Persona crossover!

The fact that they're using 3d models means they'll be able to add a lot more characters than they could otherwise, so I'm pretty hype. 16-20 characters is probably a good bet for initial release.

All of the buttrock.
-
Excellent. I'll definitely be picking this up.
... Yessir. Indeed, I will.

GGAC+R has like 25 characters already. I doubt they would remove a handful of characters for no good reason.
-
What was so wrong with Ky's hair that would possess them to give him a ponytail?

The same reason Overture Ky looked so much like a girl.

Well, 25 characters is a tall order for the first edition, especially for a game as busy as Guilty Gear. They're not Capcom.
Then again, if you take out Kliff, Justice, and Order Sol that's only 22. So maybe! Still, there will probably be a few cuts for the sake of having new characters.
-
Words cannot express my hype for this. GGX2 was 50% of my time during college.
-
An update!
Four more characters have been revealed: Chipp, May, Venom, and Potemkin.

whoa dat Potemkin
looking pretty panzerfaust there
-
Damn, I was hoping President Chipp would become a reality. Still, he's looking pretty slick. I like Millia's new outfit a lot too.
Venom hasn't really changed. I'm glad he's still around though, he was one of my mains and kind of an unimportant character, I was concerned he'd get cut.
Potemkin though...while I like the idea of a military angle, the new look really takes away his whole personality.
-
If there's no Sinzuna and/or Fanny than I'll be really disappointed. even if Sin is just miles away from the obvious
Anyways, yay chipp yay may yay venom holy shit dat panzerkmin
-
since no one mentioned it before, Guilty Gear XX AC +R was released on PSN as a free patch to GGXXAC+. Don't know if a new thread is needed for it, or if we can also use this one to discuss GGXXAC+R.
Haven't downloaded it yet, but look forward for learning Fiona Kliff
-
Wait, they finally released the patch? Oh thank God. I've been waiting for months on the new AC--I got all hyped that the PSN version would get the patch (that's why I bought it despite owning other versions) but then it got delayed for months and months...now to indoctrinate my friends into the glory of Guilty Gear.
On topic: Can't wait to see Dizzy and Jam in Xrd, assuming everyone is in.

Apparently no one noticed the second trailer showing up on YouTube a couple of weeks ago...

B-but...you can rotate the camera now...
-
I don't think you get to control when that happens :V
-
I just realized this...
Got a XBox 360? WiiU? Planning on a XB1?
Well, you're S-O-L. GGXrd is only announced for the PS3 and PS4.
