Puzzle & Dragons is an ios/android puzzle RPG.  It plays like a cross between Bejeweled and Pok?mon.  It's completely free to play, but has premium features through purchasable "magic stones," the game's premium currency (which can also be obtained occasionally as rewards in-game), which allow increased inventory, pulls from a rare egg machine, and more.  If you're patient enough the game gives you enough stones through special events and rewards that you shouldn't need to buy any.  (It's recommended you don't because you are almost guaranteed to be super frustrated at getting screwed by bad rolls ;_;)

You can control monsters from lowly slimes to mighty dragons to even gods like Genbu (above).  They all have different stats and skills, allowing you to customize your team for any number of purposes.

If you're interested, there's a really useful database of monsters and game info here: http://www.puzzledragonx.com/

A tip for new players: At the end of the tutorial the game will give you one free pull on the rare egg machine.  It's best to "scum" this pull and start over (by uninstalling and reinstalling) until you get something that's really rare, like a 5-star beastie or a god.  Great starters include any of the Chinese Gods, Ares, Bastet, Horus, Isis, Idunn & Idunna, Hermes, Archangel Lucifer, Odin, Loki, Persephone, Parvati, and many others.  Feel free to ask!

I think I posted my code at like the tail end of the fourth thread and it never made it into the OP, so I just added it myself this time.

...granted I probably could have done it at any time anyway because Shrine Janitor :fail:

On a completely unrelated note:

DO you guys play with your fingers or with fancy styluses when playing PaD?

Indekkusu modo.

Tried a stylus once, it sucked, back to pointer-finger orb-moving for good.

Finger b/c phone not fancy enough to have stylus

Finger is probably more accurate in the end anyway.

Fingers. Thumb if I'm lazily holding the phone with one hand, though I prefer to use my index.

I've been trying to use my left hand to move the orbs but not being ambidextrous makes it a challenge...

I guess the usage of index fingers doesn't surprise me.

I use a stylus myself (because the phone has a built-in one) and my fingers don't glide very well on the screen so I find the stylus easier to use.

I'm really interested on the answers on combo-god/rainbow god users here (edible and suikama i'm glaring at you)

I have a new phone I can use to play this game on! rdj told me that I should wait for some kind of special event to take advantage of newbie status or something, so I will keep an eye on the thread.

BUT HER ULT ART IS AWESOME SO IT'S OKAY

Jana: Specifically you should probably wait on a godfest, which increases the chances of you getting a good starter from the free REM pull. Generally there's two of them per month, at the middle and at the end, and they usually do get announced in-thread too.

Though Isis is generally considered the best newbie starter and the Gala of Tides -is- active.

Or does the Gala of Tides not affect REM drop rates?

It raises the odds of getting water pulls, which will be at level 30, iirc.

It does but not enough to be worth bothering with unless you reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally want something that's on-gala but almost never gets fests (like DMeta players wanting Hanzo). Even then you're still probably better off waiting for a fest so the inevitable pulling everything else under the sun is less likely to be crap. : V

Hmm. I wonder if my TAMADRApurin light based team could handle Hera-Ur. At least four members of the team are bindproof, and two of them capable of healing...

Just tested the team and I like the synergy. I'm running:

This way I have a solid light foundation, orb changers, and good healing to balance the RCV cut. All three of my major stat sticks are there. Odin and Metatron provide emergency healing. The tamapurins and Odin and Metatron are bindproof, leaving only valk and Suzaku open. Suzaku is there because her active supports all members of the team.

Thoughts?

If only Metatron was ult'd to eat water binds for free, I'd say it's plausible. You need an answer to Green Flame Ifrit, though, because he'll eat up your HP before you can hit it 44 times.
Damage -shouldn't- be an issue, I think?
