What anime(s) and/or manga(s) are you watching/reading right now?

Once upon a time, there was a boy, and he conquered came into intimate relationship with space and time. After that, his cute girl was killed.
Not agreeing with this order of things, he continuously relived his last few days, however, regardless of how he changed the events, the cute girl would die either way. Sometimes, he seemed to save her, but then, even greater forces would emerge that wanted to kill her on the next day.
In his quest, he is helped by his trustful friends: a cute smart girl, a cute maid girl, a cute soldier girl, other cute girls and a cute trap.
And the coordinator of the evil forces was in the same house all along.

What is this, you ask? Of course it is one of the best anime I've ever witnessed, made by White Fox.
10/10, would die for cute girl's smile again - MC.

I usually rank White Fox as one of my favorite studios along with SIlver Link and SHAFT, but I realize that it's mostly for how much I loved Katanagatari and Steins;Gate and not much else.  Looking through the other shows they've done nothing else really registers as that impressive.  If they don't get cracking on S;G0 or drop the ball on Matoi like they dropped the ball on Re:Zero then I might have to find a new favorite studio :<

There seems to be a group that's translating the web novel into english. I found the reddit thread and also the group's site that's actually almost quite caught up. If you're impatient for the manga, I'd suggest that. It's not top notch of a translation, but it should do. The manga's gonna be quiiiiiiiiiite a while before getting to the part where it gives the first big hint of a larger scale stuffs. Well it's about half way there, but even then it's still a ways apart from where the story really starts to get going in unexpected directions.
But everything before then is pretty exciting too so there's no rush, I mean it's all supers amazing

e: oh yeah, and if you do, make sure you take in all the information. I'm always surprised by how consistent the various information in the past is used and added on to as the story progresses. Said another way, there's a heckton of foreshadowing that you wouldn't even realize or notice.

Got done marathoning the recent Mob Psycho 100, and I gotta say, ONE the creator is some kind of legend. The adaptation was mad impressive to boot. Best show I've watched in recent memory.

Eh what??  I don't quite get why people dislike the side stories. I mean, yeah, it's not kumoko adventures but they're not terrible. People seem to hate Shun a lot too. Maybe I'm just used to his type of character, I don't see the reason for all the hate. Just think of it as a satirical take-that of the typical reincarnating into RPGs as a hero genre.

I don't hate it, I just thought they were shorts from the same universe until I read so ahead and realised they contained relevant plot tie ins, ORZ. Too eager for more cute spider shenanigans

I just watched all of FMA Brotherhood in 6 days. I had been meaning to for a long time, as I only ever watched the first episode way back when it first aired, and finished the manga when it ended; before I had gotten back into anime. Definitely amongst the best shows I've ever seen. Everything is excellent, and as an adaptation it basically just amplified everything from the manga. Easy 10/10, highly recommend.

I've been reading Needless for some time now, and oh god, it's like it was written specifically for Delfi. It has nearly ideal proportion of ecchi to action, fabulous dudes to fabulous ladies to cute girls and it even keeps getting better with each chapter.
Also, I keep seeing "Editor: Kefit" in the credits, is this the Kefit I think about?

Seriously, the story in Magical Slayer Girl Transparent Matoi looks so stupid. "Hey look, we are so edgy we use English everywhere, isn't that cool?" "Hey look, we got a transforming cyber-techno-something giant frikkin' sword, isn't that cool?" "Hey look, we got frikkin' gods, isn't that cool?" "Hey, ISN'T THAT COOL?"
...No, it isn't, so can we just stop showing off and spend the screentime on something that actually matters? That is, cute girls and their tendencies of being naked and with socks. Transparent socks. Dear god, I haven't even thought they could even exist until today.

On another end of the spectrum, once the giant boobs are set aside, Occultic;(9) turns out to have quite a good story that is presented very well. It even has a delicious soundtrack, something I haven't heard for a long time.

Keijo is incredible. It's fun and over-the-top, doesn't take itself seriously, and has pretty good fights. And if you're afraid of fanservice, there is barely any, it's all comedic and nothing erotic.

Following Keijo and Drifters this season, not much else. And caught up with the LN for kumo desu ga, nani ka?

I reccomend the LN tensei shitara slime datta ken. It is in some ways quite similar to Kumo, but has abit more development to the cast of characters and feels better paced. Kumo wins by far by having a likeable main character but the overall development of Slime appeals to me more haha.

what the HELL was that ending dear god that was the fucking worst

oh? was there supposed to be plot for the story, that was so elegantly and specifically set up throughout the series? well fuck that, it's all about subaru and emilia and his complete lack of chemistry with her

what about elsa? she said she'd return. she's not dead! what about rom and felt? they were relevant characters, dropped like a sack of bricks, only to be given a dramatic return to be dropped YET AGAIN

and come on I just can't feel anything for emilia when you drop her as a character from the plot halfway through the story and only use her as a plot device up until the last episode that's so fucking dumb

and whatever happened to roswaal and beatrice? they didn't even show up at all in the end

and oh, was there supposed to be some overarching plot to the story, like I DUNNO THE ENTIRE PLOT BEING SET AROUND CHOOSING A NEW RULER and it was just forgotten

and god damn that last fight, while a clever duo with subaru and julius, was so fucking stupid and betelgeuse was the worst villain ever

the white whale fight was FAR more exciting

especially since not only was it far more dynamic, it contained far more relevant characters and subaru was paired with someone who actually mattered a WHOLE FUCKING LOT to the entire story as a main character aka rem, and was just FAR MORE MEANINGFUL IN GENERAL

and what? just after all that, after the whale is dead, you just drop rem from the story entirely and never mention her again? just so you can just continue railroading the plot right into subaru finally becoming a decent enough person to apologize for how much of a fuck he was through the whole story to emilia, who barely fucking mattered at that point? what gives?

and that final confession wasn't even that impactful, meanwhile, the part where subaru is fucking spilling his guts and tearing himself apart, revealing how he truly feels to rem was FAR more character defining and it was just so fucking CRUEL

first you beg rem to run away with you because you're scared, realistically and understandably so
and rem just completely bares her soul to you and tells you how much she deeply loves you after you saved her and she got to know you better and become your friend
to the FUCKING POINT WHERE SHE EXPLAINS EVERY DETAIL OF THE LIFE SHE WANTED TO HAVE WITH YOU ALL THE WAY TO HER VERY LAST BREATH while you are breaking down
and returns every last bit of your self hatred with even more love, love for the person she genuinely would have run away with had he not forsaken the part of himself that she fell in love with
and all of a sudden, you feel better, you feel energized and driven... to find emilia, who can't even fucking trust you because you're a selfish fuck who forced her to stay on a pedestal she did not want to be on to the point of causing her to end her friendship with you
right in front of rem, after you beg her to run away with you, after she tells you how much she loves you, you reject her

and yet, to her, you're her goddamn hero and she stays faithfully by your side, love unrequited, as your friend and confidant

until you just drop her from the plot after she served her purpose against the whale

just

fuck this

rem was by far and away the most dynamic and relevant character outside of subaru himself (certainly a BETTER and more well-written character) and she was discarded like she was nothing

she was made to suffer through the ENTIRE STORY and wasn't even given a happy ending

i am so, so mad

this whole series had SO MUCH potential but you wasted the last few episodes on a fucking stupid villain, a pitiful romance subplot, and loose ends for days

that's not even mentioning that subaru STILL never managed to explain why he was able to do everything he did because of the witch possessing him or whatever, whenever he tried to do so

AND THAT WAS STILL NEVER EXPLAINED OR RESOLVED
