Title: (Kinda specific, actually.) Begginer Tips/Tricks?
Post by: Mellow on December 10, 2018, 08:48:22 AM
hey!! :derp:
I'm a begginer player and a sakuya main. I usually play PCB, IN, DDC or some others. I'm currently Trying to improve at movement, Although I'm pretty good at focusing and such. But a bigger problem is The placement of my fingers on the keyboard..  :ohdear: I've practiced with using my thumb on X, but it's a bit hard. I also tried some other placements but it's still a bit uncomfortable. I'd really like to know if there's any reccomendations for that.

Also, I can't seem to find an english patch for violet detector!

I'm a bit new to The photography games, but I find them fun and enjoyable. I think the english patch would just make my gameplay a bit more comfortable. i'm also having a little trouble with clearing some levels. Are there any strategies? I found a safespot for bodhi stomp. (But i died anyway on my first try  :V) So that was easy, but it's still difficult to beat some other levels. Just some general tips needed!

Thumb for X does indeed sound uncomfortable. I play with my ring finger on Shift, middle on Z, and index for both X and C (in games that have C, like HSIFS).

Have you read the existing beginner help thread (https://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,8241.0.html)? There's also a spellcard help thread (https://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,16581.0.html) where you can ask about any particular cards that are troubling you. The photography games tend to have a lot of "figure out the trick" cards, so asking about specific ones might benefit you more than general tips.
