Title: Touhou Remix Music - General discussion and favorite arranges thread
Post by: Nobu on March 27, 2010, 12:06:59 AM
I'm surprised there isn't a thread like this on the first page here (unless i'm just blind or something and missed it on multiple passes..)

Want to let the world know your favorite remix artists? Think a certain song/circle is underappreciated? Looking for that person who appreciates Sepette Remix #37 as much as you do? Well here ya go! Just remember no download links, buy the albums, etc.

-----------

Without further ado, here's the artist i'd like to showcase:

Artist: TaNaBaTa
Albums: サクラツナギ (http://tanabata.co.uk/sakuratunagi.html), セツナライト (http://tanabata.co.uk/setsunalight.html)
Samples:
OINIRO-GIRL (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVVqk2nQb0Y) - Maiden's Capriccio
ちるのちるのちるの (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ribC_Lgnj48) - Odenpa Love Girl
千切れる群青 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUpovQPiEH4) - The Fantastic Legend of Tohno (PCB Stage 2 theme)

I'm going to guess most people are familiar with this group from the Cirno PV, but their other stuff is pretty fantastic too. If I'll never see the pillows do a Touhou arrange in my lifetime, at least this group is a rough approximation of what I think it'd be like.

And I swear, this guy's voice gives me huuuuge Guitar Freaks/Drummania vibes. Is it just me?

UNLUCKY MORPHEUS MOTHERFUCKERS!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIW-Q2moVbE)

It's sad that there are people who don't appreciate Fuki at all as a vocalist. Some say she even ruins the group. What the fuck.

If anything that award should go to Amane from Cool&Create. Christ, she can't sing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBLewUSgcIU#t=4m20s).

Mugen Kidou is everything I have of this circle (and probably everything it's published so far). Don't judge its quality by the cover. It's one of the few albums where there isn't even a single disappointing track.

Artist: 湯船にプカリと浮かびたい
Albums: ヤミノアヤカシ
Samples:
The third eyes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwhx53VX8Zk) (3rd eye)
a devils power (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMVtXOYyBbw) (Nuclear Fusion)

Very nice Subterranean Animism arrange album. Too bad that's as much info as I have.

曉人 and 神社の裏. Not a single fucking trace on 'Tube or even Nico. I'll upload the entire albums myself because they are just that good.

Agreed. I think she really fits the metal they're doing.
Except on Hypothetical Box. She was way too loud there.

Anyway...

Circle: まぐなむお~ぱす (http://homepage1.nifty.com/TAKA-S/) (Magnum Opus)
Artist: 高瀬 (http://vgmdb.net/artist/1156) (Takase)
Albums:
東方桜妖紀 ~ Necromance Metal Attitude ~ (http://homepage1.nifty.com/TAKA-S/touhouy/touhouy.html)
東方紅魔月譚 ~ Scarlet Devil Fantasic Rhapsody ~ (http://homepage1.nifty.com/TAKA-S/touhouk/touhouk.html)
東方幻有夢境 ~ depth psychology of unconsciousness ~ (http://homepage1.nifty.com/TAKA-S/touhoug/touhoug.html)
東方幻朧悠月抄 ~ Imperishable sin and millennium history ~ (http://homepage1.nifty.com/TAKA-S/touhouge/touhouge.html)
東方核煉獄 ~ Purgatory Nuclear fusion ~ (http://homepage1.nifty.com/TAKA-S/touhoukaku/touhoukaku.html) (heh, didn't know he released something at Reitaisai 7 until I started writing this post)
Samples:
月時計 ~ ルナ・ダイアル (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyCBYhdDttg)
ハルトマンの妖怪少女 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWwQ4yOEXLs)
ヴォヤージュ1970 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQmAX57KosA)

Progressive/power metal, sounds like it may be inspired by Dream Theater. Probably my favourite Touhou music arranger right now. Gets better with every album.

Artist: Godspeed (http://vgmdb.net/artist/7225)
Albums: Uh... 東方緋想天とらのあな初回購入特典CD (http://vgmdb.net/album/9070) I guess. He appears here and there (like on the Knights of Round albums), but unfortunately there hasn't been a full Touhou album from him.
Sample: Rage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1viw5X9sgg)

UNLUCKY MORPHEUS MOTHERFUCKERS!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIW-Q2moVbE)
Since they are pretty much the only people that made a good arrange of Sariel's theme, I'm going to second that motion.

As redundant as it should be, I'm going to mention Demetori (http://www.kawachi.zaq.ne.jp/demetori/), one of the best sources for touhou metal arranges. As listening examples I will present you:
Septette for the Dead Princess arrange (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UDwwOwXWss)
Greenwich in the Sky arrange (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyCWUZDW71U)
Luna Dial arrange (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRbgknEOvcQ) (one of the few that reach the awesomeness of the original) I know what you're thinking, Gpop. I don't care.

And have some liquid awesomeness from WAVE, will you. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq2Z4ZaTkt4)

There are alot of Remix bands I really enjoy. Pretty much all the metal ones that have no vocals are good for me. Everyone  metal fan seems to adore Demontori, which isn't bad IMO. But it's too...Well... I mean It just sounds like too much content is missing to me. I mean it really seems like it has nothing going for it but a guitar. Touhou music should normally have alot of keys as well IMO, and the Demontori songs I hear seem to lack that. I find that DbU's rockier tunes like:
Captain motherfucker:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqaVul7OIUk
Kaguya:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPDFyAf4d1c
Flandre
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3od4ohTemho

Do an excellent job of sounding like metal/rock versions of the originals. Neutral does that too sometimes, but you really can't expect to get one genre in an album from them. Anybody able to suggest rock/metal arranges like DbU that sound VERY close to the originals?

I'm getting a new HD in a month or so. Then I'll be able to get more of this stuff and..well, figure out myself easily. Right now I can only fit so much, making experimenting very difficult >=p.

All that, and you still haven't mentioned two of his best arranges:
Suwa Foughten Field (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dU_kyLFmbYE)
Jehovah's YaHVeH (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blkpKvHkQu8)

And you took songs from the album "Offering to The Sukhavati" without choosing the best arrange in that album IMO:
The Youkai Mountain ~ Mysterious Mountain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wPJM45N1E8)

But yeah. Luna Dial sucks. Deal with it.

Best (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlDr38BP6mo) of (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nw_Vh6deR5w) Reitaisai 7 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngP81nWBnug). I have no idea how the hell this was overlooked. 3-track album ? Bad cover art ?

I would also like to recommend Halozy. Their music immediately caught my interest, especially these two:

U.N. Owen Was Her ? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmTtHAwhD9c) (Starry Presto)
Beware the Umbrella Left There Forever (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EowZ5BpNNvY) (Heartcore Forte)

Seems there's quite a bit of the metal/rock scene going on with Touhou music ITT.

Rather than derail that entirely with references, I'll just poke around and ask if anyone knows a good circle who's done a nice, upbeat arrange of Phantom Ensemble - orchestral, but a good metal arrange wouldn't kill me either.

Otherwise, IRON ATTACK! is pretty catchy, too :D

Oh right and Liz-Triangle does a really good remix of Septette - the one where they have lily-an doing vocals for them. I've got that looping on a YouTube playlist right now, nurhur.

Also, an arrange of Flower of Soul!  Vocal isn't really my thing, but I do like!

I'm just going to stand right here and proclaim my eternal love for CYTOKINE (see re:world (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3x-zTHGSX8) and Everlasting Circle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4IlUJ58r2g); aki makes Mokou's theme sound GOOD) and SOUND HOLIC (Touchless (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Oxx6K1XjCI) and SPARKIN' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCxGxwG25ek) have been my favorite Touhou arranges for quite some time).

Some other groups that people should check out are Hatsunetsu Miko's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8EWlxJ5r8o), Sound Online (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9vjoW5ZT_o), and the occasional Innocent (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFKu_HMEAy8) Key (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrcoOGWGe1o) song. '

Also if we're going to accuse anyone of terrible singing, A~YA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zt2TXODWy-Q) wins hands down.

TAMusic is easily one of my favorite ones.  Anyone who dislikes them must have a few screws loose.

Violinz (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LG5anYJZ2ZM)
Nuclear Violinz (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Br7AcIiu84&feature=related)

Whenever someone mentions metal, I either get reminded of Demetori or IRON ATTACK! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGgbnP-42AA&feature=related).

No hardcore? :(

Get t+pazolite's Unconnected. Amazing hardcore techno Touhou remixes, and one of my favorite albums ever. Here, have some youtube samples here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oaZqOWjO18&fmt=22) and here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wy2qPopCEEw&fmt=22). t+pazolite always makes such fun stuff to listen to.

The circle C9 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU64lJes2kY&fmt=22) also has some good hardcore techno. They released two solid albums the past 2 Comikets. All Touhou remixes, of course.

And ALiCE'S EMOTiON has always been around, releasing albums that are pretty lame except each always has one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2Z7PQlS3J4&fmt=22) or two (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryn0glasmtA&fmt=22) songs which are amazing.

If nobody has stated it yet I state it now.
Sakabato (http://tuutenn.s66.xrea.com/) is awesome.
His arrange of grave of being (http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6781919) needs special note for it is one of the best arranges that I have heard of yet.
Also, if you don't know he's Tsuuten, the drummer in CROW'S CLAW (http://www.crowsclaw.info/).
The metal that they make is top notch.
If you haven't heard of their arranges, you should listen to Check (http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/nm4003495)  Your Blood (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBiz5DYBp8A), famous for being sung @ flowering night.
...and yes its a really awesome metal rock version of Septet.

I'll be back soon with lots of other recommendations, but this I just had to add on here.
Happy listening! :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm0hiIT93Yo

That version is fairly awesome, But for some reason I felt the riddles covered in flowers version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=menZlGy6kKE) might suit the criteria better. Its not as good as the deadly dancing butterfly one, but it is more easygoing. Oh, you could also try this one I found on youtube the other day. Its none of what you asked for but Ive not seen anything like it before
Prismrivers X Beasty boys (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dz4b41Ad8rQ)  :V

Tbf this post has made me realise I dont have enough phantom ensemble mixes.

DMC's momento mori is a current favirote, its got everything - epics, upbeats, and somber. all of which are done brilliantly. Not all of it is on youtube though, I might make a new account to upload UNDERGROUND☆PETM@STER (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VEVKcFyRXw) in full, its bloody genius. Also epic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPhQCQ5NVwg) and somber (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZ7g_WIo0_8) tunes. Brilliant. Thanks to the member who posted the epic one somewhere here or I'd never have looked them up!

My favorite group currently has to be WAVE (http://www.circle-wave.net/).  They're the ones to go to for classical arrangements.  Both of mt favorite arrangements are off their ARCHIV-EAST (http://www.circle-wave.net/product/archiveast/arch.html) album; This arrangement of Bloom Nobly, Cherry Blossoms of Sumizome (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-eensMhO_k), and this arrangement of Judgment in the Sixtieth Year ~ Fate of Sixty Years (http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=VGqlEL9WQW0).

I'm surprised there isn't a thread like this on the first page here (unless i'm just blind or something and missed it on multiple passes..)

Same here. I listen to remixes far more than I do the actual music. Uh, that's excluding game time, of course.

TAMUSIC, O-Life Japan, and Demetori have been 3 of my favorites for so long that they have 3 individual playlists on my iPod which probably doesn't have 15. O-Life Japan makes such a wide variety of tunes with such a wide variety of synth instruments and it's hard to believe it's all done by a single person. TAMUSIC has released so many classical remixes it's hard to pick a favorite GROUP of songs they've released, and yet they have still managed to branch out quite a good deal. Demetori just rocks in general and I've always been impressed with what those two can put together.

Recently I've been looking poking around, finding the Rockgirl remixes and ska group EcN:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkNlX_EphnE&fmt=18
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArG71l1cF3Y
Although I get the feeling that I'm the only one who likes that sorta thing since I'm one of 3 people who seems to remember back when Goldfinger and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones were the best thing to happen to music since classic rock in my worthless, baseless, and idiotic opinion.

Man, I'm sorry for not posting more links but there's about 12 or so other songs that I could spit out just from the groups I've mentioned alone. Still looking to branch out a bit more, so this thread is gonna be a great one for resources. Keep 'em coming!

IOSYS WOO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxyETWJmI_4) \o/

Don't really like that track (ugh those vocals) but IOSYS does indeed have some solid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIA1Erzn0kI) tracks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcBXbN0GPZg) when they get away from stupid shit (assanchors).

After all this time I'm still discovering new groups (one of the reason I've yet to put down the money for a CD), so the best I can do is provide examples of what I've liked so far.

Alstroemeria Records seems to be a solid techno group.
Inanimate Dream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTDS81PTYpE)
Candid Friend (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL1Ok5fwzq8)

I'm saddened by all the metal groups and no mention of  ~xi-on~!
Fall of Fall (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pa4JF3M5370)
OH GOD COSMIC MIND (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGPh4rLSbds)  :* :* :*

And yes, TAMMUSIC is awesome, especially this live performance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knpmeOjur1o). If you don't cry, you just plain don't like music.
(Sorry if it was posted before, but it's awesome enough to warrant a 2nd time).

I actually rather like most of IOSYS' sillier songs. Although yes, when they get down to being more serious, they produce wonderful things like Geneology of Memories (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_aOmZxqjmM), Artificial Children (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1SU4bJ4WS8), Unlocked Girl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2DMtrXvnxM), and Pray (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZuIAsezF5s).

Also, I'm listening to 岸田教団 (Studio K2) and...holy fuck they're fucking awesome! I love their vocalist, but their rock is just so...beautiful and epic.

On topic, I'm a big fan of Nazz-can/Neutral. Brightness and Darkness are two of my favourite albums. That said, I'm still looking for someone that can remix Border of Life 2 to make as epoch-making as in-game.

That's one of the few videos I went through the effort of finding a good way to rip a file out of YouTube, and I put it straight onto my mp3 player and burnt a CD with it on it. It's also on my cell phone, too.

This one? It's fantastic.  :D

It has Yamame's theme, but not O-Life's A Flower Studded Sake Dish on Mt. Ooe mix that was on the same CD? Criminal. That song makes me wish I was still in band. ;_;

Hey, look, we're starting to creep towards classical and orchestral arranges now.

HIJACK

Neutral's Heartfelt Fancy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VYJrw8BMQQ) has gotten my brother addicted to Touhou music, because it's so calming and jazzy.

Their cover of Green-Eyed Jealousy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4GLlhFx0Ww) sounds like the background music to Tristram in Diablo 1. Also, when I played it at work, my assistant manager said this song would make good 'fucking-music'. At that very moment, in my mind's eye, his head exploded.

South of Heaven has a decent rock cover ofPhantom Ensemble (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vm9WulUKlUQ) - unfortunately, I'm looking for something more like...

Unknown Little Scarlet (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wuxfeUSKe4) by Diverse System. We've all heard a bajillion remixes, arranges, and live versions of U.N.Owen Was Her, but there are two or three simply epic arranges done up in a wonderful little classical package. This is one of them.

Dear Eastern Blood (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgigJ8-pwoM) by Scarlatto di Levante is another good example of epic classical arranges - and now that I go through all my favorites on YouTube and look, if I find out that Scarlatto di Levante or Diverse System has done Phantom Ensemble, I'm gonna cry.

This Phantom Ensemble (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvrJk2nBds8) is very near to what I'm looking for - it has the trumpets and the strings, but is severely lacking in the piano. Is it truly so hard to find an arrange of Phantom Ensemble that features all three primary Prismriver instruments?!

TAMusic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkMmRum24VI) comes pretty close, but, this is lacking the energy that I'm after - and trumpets. Definitely a keeper come Christmas time, though; and yes I stole that idea from the description of the clip.

Will my quest for Phantom Ensemble never bear fruit?! Am I doomed to wander aimlessly eternally across YouTube, unable to prowl Niconico because of my glaring inability to read Japanese? Woe is my plight to have catchy ghosty orchestry musicy!

And now I activate my trap card, 'Kill Thread Dead'! ;~;

Butaotome (http://butaotome.web.fc2.com/) has quickly become one of my favorite remix groups just from their first album.  Machi-Bito wa Kitazu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQXkadQqWRY) is just stellar for a remix of a song that I wasn't really fond of in Beware the Umbrella.  Not to mention the lyrics make me even more sympathetic to poor Kogasa.

Aside from them, though, I have to mention Yellow Zebra (http://yellow-zebra.com/) since no one else has (Yes the same Yellow Zebra of Touhou M-1 fame).  Their remixes of U.N. Owen Was Her (http://Akai), Wind God Girl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5527IUNSgI), and Love-Colored Master Spark (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISjId_HKsaE), amongst others, solidified them in my book.

Also, while I only have seriously listened to Sacred Factor, their latest, EastNewSound (http://e-ns.net/) deserves mention, even if only for Lucid Dream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1akNTEHxXg).  And on an only slightly tangental note...Chata is so much love.   :*

Now that I've watched that I had a look and a few are on youtube now from that album. The Bad apple mix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwzPrgFQJMQ) and Suwako's theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T49yFFc_i4c) one are good. I haven't actually heard suwako's before If im honest, So I dont have much to go as far as comparing goes on but it does sound good to me. (and I hadn't played any PC98 when I got my mitts on +/-, that didn't stop me enjoying it - just respect what theyve done with it more now lol)

God I love cytokines style. I wish it played in clubs  :V

Must become pals with a DJ somewhere and touhou hijack an event. Also I'm taking Aki home~

I'd heard and loved the cherry blossoms one but jesus
Hijiri
christ the fate of sixty years arrange is crushing lol. Only way I can describe it.

Sorry all my posts are a bit slow but I cant view these threads at home, And I've got an oppurtunity now so I'm going through this thread. Still lots to listen to~

Jumping off my earlier post about Butaotome, I finally pinpointed what I love about their vocalist: the way she sings, it's...imperfect, but in a way that makes it feel genuine and emotional.  Case in point, the other song that they did that makes me appreciate a theme that I really didn't like the original of: 春になれば彼女は (http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10117462) (Nico link, fair warning).

Problem is that I Just keep finding new ones at too higher rate to actually have an absolute favourite. Its just not possible. What was my fave two weeks ago will still rank highly but get superceeded by a track I'll find this week.

So far this ranks pretty highly with me at the moment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T49yFFc_i4c And pretty much anything else from The Tower.

Honorable mentions go to WAVE's A,1948.12 Yama of Xanadu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nYwHXJY-7s) and Border of Life (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq2Z4ZaTkt4). Both are incredibly awesome. Especially the former. YAMA! \o\

After being thoroughly confused and wondering where my wish-list ended up, I discovered that two threads were mashed together in one.
A marvelous opportunity!

If anyone who wasn't keeping track of the original Touhou Arranges thread happens to know where I could find a good, sweeping, upbeat orchestral arrange of Phantom Ensemble that features the violin, trumpet, and piano, I would be most appreciative!

If anyone wants to make an orchestral request of me, let me know and I'll do my best to help you out.

My favorite arrange used to be SPARKIN', by SOUND HOLIC (which I linked to earlier in the thread).
Then I heard Shattered Emotion (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yw5jqaIbG60) and it just blew everything else out of the water. Nana Takahashi is a brilliant singer, and probably the reason I enjoy SOUND HOLIC so much. Her contribution to The Tower was by far the best part of the album.

Speaking of which, The Tower by CYTOKINE is quickly turning into my favorite individual album. It has the honor of being the only Touhou album where I haven't deleted a single song off my computer, because they're all just that good. There's just...nothing wrong with the album. It has Nana Takahashi, aki, four Cosmic Mind arranges, an amazing Bad Apple!! arrange, and manages to make Tomorrow Will Be Special sound completely badass. If I have to complain about anything, it's A~YA still being a horrible singer, but even she can't ruin the one song she's in.

If you like Cosmic Mind that much Sen, check this out (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/moomar/dfda.jpg). It has probably the best non-vocal Cosmic Mind remix.
I couldn't find anything worth deleting either (well ... except for The Traditional (ry, but at least the Sky Ruins part was okay).

^ Added to my ever-growing Cosmic Mind Arrange playlist (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=B87F480C071A884A).  Note that the playlist is meant to be thorough as opposed to selective, so there are quite a few "meh" arranges on it, but I think most of the arranges are pretty darn good.  Some of my absolute favorites from that list have already been mentioned, but I'm convinced they bear repeating, and so I will list them along with some others (hopefully) not mentioned yet:
> the erhu arrange (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xHRWCUBxaM) by Gyozayahonpo that Formless God linked earlier in the thread - the intro bit (repeated in-between the erhu and other ZUNtune segments) already has me wibbling, only for the erhu to come in and effectively shred my heart into itty bitty pieces.  And it all Hurts. So. Good.
> the epic orchestral Cosmic Line (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKaIrOzA4lw), which I'm pretty sure was linked in some other thread though I haven't seen it in this one yet - I feel like this is Cosmic Mind's answer to that mindblowing WAVE arrange of Sumizome ~ Border of Life; pretty much every listen of this results in HNNNNNNGGGGG for me at some point, especially if that point is ~2:22-3:17.
> I'm completely torn on the three metal arranges by xi-on (linked earlier), Iron Attack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLKy4vWYG7Q), and Demetori (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hkz7sfw3Y7Q).  I just-- HNNNNNNGGGGG.
> Four Seasons of Loneliness (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyp10jvUeXQ) from TatshMusicCircle's amazing Far East of East II album, and the previously-linked but not named star river (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0OhkL1-SCw) by IOSYS - nearly all Cosmic Mind vocal arranges are pretty good (at least imo), but even so these stand out among them as some of my absolute favorites, although neither can hold a torch to
> the cr?me de la cr?me 24-carat-gold standard for Cosmic Mind vocal arranges, White Lotus - especially the Piano Version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUYf5m5i5G4) (whoever put that video together with the song is a horrible sadist who enjoys making me burst into tears).  For once, something so immensely popular is, in my opinion, not the least bit overrated, for I believe that it is not only the best Cosmic Mind vocal arrange of ALL TIME ever, but it is one of the best Cosmic mind arranges period, vocal or non-vocal, and may also be one of the best vocal arranges of any Touhou song.  Precious few other (vocal) arranges - even the others by Liz Trangle - so completely capture the essence of the character behind the ZUN theme without having to slavishly imitate or at least heavily depend on the ZUNtune.  In fact, White Lotus not only avoids using the ZUNtune as a crutch - it openly draws attention to the circle-original segments, then segues so flawlessly  from them into the ZUNtune that one feels as if the circle-original melody and the ZUN theme were always meant to be part of the same piece, a piece that exemplifies the poignancy of Byakuren's story even more than the original ZUN theme does on its own.

Note that the aforementioned circle-original-segue-to-ZUNtune structure features prominently in all of Liz Triangle's best vocal arranges, including my other favorites like Ficus glomerata (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGFpmnrKYI0), moon light step (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vm9ot2U4-tk), and Heart of Glass (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMurSGTyDGg).  In fact, it also features in many of my other favorite non-Liz Triangle vocal arranges (e.g. star river), though truth be told I love it in non-vocal arranges too - it's just that in my experience, non-vocal arranges seem to prefer mixing two or more different ZUNtunes over mixing a circle-original melody with a ZUNtune.

And, um, since the thread title contains the phrase "General Discussion," I'll assume the following additional teal deer is also appropriate for this particular thread, though you're welcome to ignore it as it contains no links to delishus moosik:

I've noticed that while Border of Life (the Sumizome one, not the final spell one) is my top favorite Touhou theme and Cosmic Mind is in second place by a long shot, I far prefer Cosmic Mind arranges.  Maybe it's just the sheer quantity of Sumizome Border of Life arranges that causes me to run into so many "meh"-ish ones, but I generally run into them on the same albums by the same artists who did Cosmic Mind arranges that I really liked.  Aside from the oft-mentioned WAVE/Morrigan epic orchestral arrange, some arranges by =Neutral=, and a few vocal arranges, I haven't encountered many other Sumizome arranges that I enjoy listening to repeatedly.  Contrast this with the fact that I am addicted to at least 1/4th of the songs on my Cosmic Mind playlist, and can easily stand repeated listens of well over half that list.  My guess is that the original Cosmic Mind has just enough flaws to allow for arranges to take a good thing and make it amazing, whereas the original Sumizome Border of Life is just so stunning in terms of musicality and composition that doing ANYTHING with it risks taking it down a notch or two of awesome.

In my search for orchestral arranges of Phantom Ensemble, I have instead come across several other good little bits and pieces of music. I invite you to check out my list of favorites (http://www.youtube.com/user/Esifex#p/f) on YouTube to check 'em out. Everything up to 'Four-Dimensional Warp Device' is on my list of newfound-favorites.

Hmm, sucks to be you then Sen, Plastik World is awesome.
Alstroemeria Records, The newest one Double Counterpoint is rather nice too, although a bit repetitive. Probably best taken sparingly. Aki Misawa's vocals = love. (Shinto Shrine is the most played track ever - 398 playcounts followed by Me and Mrs. Jones by Billy Paul on my itunes playlist at 276 counts, what startling differences...)

 ----

I find WAVE's mix of Yama of Xanadu one of the best and most epic mixes ever.... the way that gregorian style chant flairs up in the beginning makes my skin crawl with excitement and I swear I cream in my pants everytime it reaches the epic thundering finish.

Okay I take this back. I just listened to SPARKIN' again and it's still the best song :V

Also, the Riverside has some badass songs in there. One song that I definitely think went wrongly unnoticed (especially with Sinergy being in the same album) is DUG (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vqzKiN0-2c). This Prog/Metal arrange is just so fucking badass, and it gives off this Dream Theater vibe off of it.

Also, decided to finally give ALiCE'S EMOTiON a try. While I generally dislike REDALiCE's stuff and think everything he makes sounds exactly the same, I must say, Radiant Treasure (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_1W4gi5Bkk) is amazing.

Likewise. I can almost hear the typical Touhou musical progression in there, but nothing at all similar to Flowering Night, as it claims it is.

In other news, Scarlet Destiny (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAmX-eok6Cc&playnext_from=TL&videos=60KvdCpW0PE&playnext=6) by Sensitive Heart has an excellent opening, even more so when you're listening to it while your friend on Ventrilo is telling a very silly story in a dramatic tone of voice. I cried from the laughter.

Gonna revive this thread for this.

To be honest, when it comes to Thousand Leaves, I disliked how a majority of their songs are scream-o death metal. The vocals totally turns me off. Really, I wouldn't consider it singing myself, although I will say that it DOES take some kind of talent to growl that way (if you guys know this band Abnormality, their vocalist is female, but she packs a mean scream-o voice.) I try just for fun, I can't really do it, or I just don't know how.

ANYWAYS, the point is that I decided to go through their album "Blind Night Sorrow", which is half scream-o, half instrumental. And lemme tell you, HOLY SHIT I LOVE THE INSTRUMENTALS! I mean, listen to this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC2PEcHtzS4

I love it. I actually think this is my favourite Heartfelt Fancy arrange ever. I just wish they would make more instrumentals like this. Their scream-o turns me away from them.

My favorite circle (for now) is the general Alstroemaria Records.

Currently, my favorites by them, (miraculously), is not Bad Apple, but instead are "Greenwitch in the Sky (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVjdG5hgew8)" and "Underground Bridge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruIoMUSaq1w)"

Underground Bridge is more REDALiCE (ALiCE'S EMOTiON) though. If it's not by MM, then it's not Alstroemeria, IMO.

This is seriously the only scream-o Touhou arrange I'll ever listen to. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDsc2VGNJ0Y)

The instruments sound so sexy, especially the guitar after the 3:39 mark onwards. That's where it gets all beautiful and epic beyond my own words.

I will say that I hate it when songs fade out like that though. I want an actual ending to finish off the entire epic-ness of this song, but I'm fine with it anyways.

Also putting a few more out here for people's consideration and delectability:
Mysterious Mountain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PcwG_erjZs) by Absolute Beat Music
Flawless Clothing of the Celestials (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV3b3Juw3w8) by the ever-amazing Kitsune's Workshop
Flower Land (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtCUuHCHKnA&fmt=18) - I don't know the artist but this is a hell of an arrange (for some reason, all arranges of Flower Land are good; it's like the Maid and the Pocket Watch of Blood in that respect...)
Speaking of which (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3halcFFKZcA) - IKUTO is awesome, and this collaboration album was godly.  The only sadness was no arrange of Centennial Festival.

Awesome Aya Arranges Are Absolutely Amazing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_miv-iO5oyw)  (This is the last one, I swear.)

A nice dramatic, orchestral arrange of Wind God Girl is always welcome in my book.  It's a pity nazz-can is no longer a part of Neutral though.  Although the newer members of the circle aren't that bad, it just doesn't feel the same without him.

While browsing through some other interesting arranges on YouTube, I found this masterpiece (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1S8SzrQfWc).  Simply epic.  Also, this is one of those obscure circles which most people, including myself, have never heard of.  It seems to me that a lot of the really good arranges aren't getting as much attention as they should be getting.

I guess I should try to find some more obscure pieces next.

Listening to Alstroemeria Records' older albums was a pretty enlightening experience.
The really new stuff is pretty good (Plastik World/Double Counterpoint), but the really old stuff before Blue Note is also fun to listen to (and quite underrated). He had a really different sound back then. I especially like the live CD of Lily of the Incas. It's just amazing :3
Here, have a Flowering Night arrange: Masayoshi Minoshima - Flowering Night (Alstroemeria Carnivalize Remix) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzRLZvtk1M0)

More people need to listen to C.H.S. t+pazolite is amazing. His newer Touhou arranges (particularly on Unconnected.) and his original work is awesome if you like hardcore/gabber.
Seriously, just listen: t+pazolite - Night-Bird's Crying (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bC5lhkYf37Q)
Epic remix of Mystia's stage theme.

Agree with Kimi no Museum having amazing vocals, just listened to their newest release. I like the male vocalist (Cherose). Not the kind of stuff I usually listen to, but it's good. Surprised that they're not more popular :3

Not sure about the older albums, but nowadays it seems many people (including myself) just don't bother with albums described as "vocal" albums, since there are just so many and it's not worth picking through all of them. It's the same reason why I only have a handful of albums from the last M3.

If anything you just have to mention a few famous names and people will flock.

Man, IIRC that was like the only song I liked on that album :ohdear:
Oh wait, the Aura Qualic tracks on it were pretty sick too (I hope I'm thinking of the right album). Kinda weird, because I like Halozy's other stuff.

EastNewSound is a pretty closely related circle to Halozy (trance/techno with usually good vocals, and similar artists), worth checking out if you like them. Not sure if they'd be considered a big name now, though. Although you probably already know of them if you listen to Halozy :3

Sorry if it's been mentioned here before, but Hatsunetsumiko's is also a pretty good "vocal" circle. Here's a sample: Tim Vegas - フラグメンツ (feat. narco + capo) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qjl94h0yTWQ)
They're pretty famous for this song now, but it's like all that they're famous for. Their C76 album is a good listen.

(Those Syrufit tracks are awesome btw :ohdear:)

MAIKAZE had some nice vocals too.  TBH, I haven't really listened to much of SYNC.ART's stuff so I can't really say anything about them.

I'm sure there are a lot more underrated vocals out there that no one has mentioned.

Here's a question that may be interesting.

Have you ever found a piece of Touhou music where you can't find a remix that you'd rather listen to than the original? For instance, I can't find a Fires of Hokkai remix that's anywhere near the quality of the original, nor one of Grimoire of Alice.

Well, you could listen to that Chargeman Ken one.

I will admit that some remixes usually don't compare to the original, but this has never happened to me.  Fires of Hokkai (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5xB0MUDrQg&feature=related) actually has some pretty nice arranges out there, and so does Grimoire of Alice (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6cGoEtLLZw&feature=related).  I think it mostly comes to down to preference when dealing with most of these arranges.  I could probably dig up some better ones given enough time.

You know, now that I think about it, I've never actually heard any good remixes for Living the Shrine Hide-and-Seek.

Well, I am blown away by Sprite Wing. Not only did they manage to make Murasa's theme sound good (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGTNc65kpO8), it's actually the best song on the album.

Also, as much as I love the arranges, I can't find anything that comes even close to the original Alice Maestra. It's just beautiful, in its own retro way.

Oh, and if we're going to talk about Hatsunetsu, it'd be terrible to not mention their best song. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8EWlxJ5r8o)

Betwixt & Between made a good Fires of Hokkai remix:
like a flame (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMF84lkse4c)
It's from Cis-Trance's Abnormal Dance. Really great Touhou album, some great makina tracks on it (although this track isn't makina).
And there was one I liked from Halozy, too:
Crouka - envelope fire (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrpz44vM0No)

Of course, your preference does come first :3 Just throwing some out there.

As for me, I can't find a remix of Kagome-Kagome (IN Stage 5 theme) or A Tiny, Tiny, Clever Commander (Nazrin's theme) that I really like.

(and omg that Murasa track is good :*)

SOUND.Ave's Papos did a great orchestral version. Sounds nothing like the original, but is so much more epic. It's what a final stage theme should sound like. Full of anticipation, with a nice buildup.

Lord Usa's Elemental Flag. dBu doesn't count because his music isn't much different

The CD music, namely Refrain of the Lovely Great War and Neo Super-Express (there's a decent vocal, but I never got to loop it the way I did for the original).

Myon managed to find a song that makes Luna Dial sound good. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtp2qFlOO30) Wow. First Captain Murasa and now Luna Dial? Maybe they're not as hopeless as I thought! :V

Also, again on the subject of songs where arranges can't beat the original, I've yet to find a Reincarnation arrange that's better than the original. Same goes for White Flag of Usa Shrine, Hartmann's Youkai Girl, Sleepless Night on the Eastern Country, and Alice Maestra (and the SWR version of Flowering Night if that counts).

Going with the trend of stating one's own opinion and taste as fact and objective standard, Luna Dial is an effing masterpiece only very few arranges can reach in awesomeness, and that arrange you posted certanly does not.
:smug:

Also, I am still waiting for a truly great arrange of Swordsman of a Distant Star, Magic Mirror, Extra Love, and several other PC-98 songs.

Septette for the Dead Princess is this for me, bar none.

As far as Fires of Hokkai, what about Lucid Dream? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3OICXFTAW0)

Also, I'm slightly biased because it looks like I'm the only one that actually LIKES the theme 'Captain Murasa', but as far as remixes, you can't go wrong with Liz-Triangle's remix of both that and Interdimensional Voyage of a Ghostly Passenger Ship (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCuy_1jlpQU)

Hartmann's Youkai Girl
I found this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ-QA4NeUCM). Everything from the beginning to 2:05 is fairly generic, then from 2:29 onwards is eargasm.

EDIT: I found another nice vocal rendition of Captain Mother Murasa. It sounded slightly Persona 3/4/PSP-ish so I'm not sure if it fits everyone's tastes :V

MISAWA AKI
I love her THIS much.

Okay, she doesn't have the best voice in the world.
But I absolutely love everything about it, every crack and imperfection in her voice just adds to her appeal.

MASAYOSHI MINOSHIMA
One of the prominent arrangers for Alstroemeria Records. Before I just thought "He's good" now I think "HE'S GOOD," like, HOLY SHIT GOOD.

Here's some Misawa + Masayoshi -----> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ortB_zyhqc

TSUKASA
He's very good. He made this:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6x9IoJlGl8

SHIBAYAN

3L

====================
I love Alstroemeria Records. Seems like everytime they release an album, they mop the floor with everyone's ass. Their C77 release was far better than most of the others out there, especially than IOSYS' who just submitted a bunch of rock-themed arranges. (Good, but overall boring compared to the rest.)

And... they have a live event! They're serious and they know what they're doing. Their love for Touhou (And capability to compose original music) puts them in my #1 list.

Needs moar Flandre.  :V

Common State of Innocent Violence, by Crow's Claw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_vtVahCYRk)
The first Touhou remix I ever heard. It seems to evoke Flandre's raw destructive power more than her childlike innocence.

Heart Under Blade, by Kokuyasou/Black Night Funeral (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0XF9a7EQSM)
A great song by one of my favorite arrangers. I like it for the same reasons as Common State of Innocent Violence, and it has basically the same tone.

The One Who Inherits the Scarlet Craze (紅い狂気の継承者), by ARA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lac01jcCSSs)
Not much to say about it, but it's good.

U.N. Owen Was Her?, by Cool&Create (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxC0nXJu71I)
I like it more as a song than as a representation of Flandre's character, personally.

U.N. Owen Was Her?, by 砂塵音樂室 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEM9mdqFpU4)
I like it for the same reasons as Cool&Create's arrange, but I particularly like what they did with the portion from 0:17 to 0:29.

悪魔の妹と4台のピアノのための極めて破壊的な狂騒曲, by Xe (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vo9HjGn0T20)
One of my favorite U.N. Owen arranges, it perfectly demonstrates the innocence, anger, hopefulness, sadness, and raw power that I feel form Flandre's character.

Unknown? by Mistyhaze (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFQX4pjQ4-4)
The only song by Mistyhaze that I actually like. It evokes the same feelings as the previous song in the list, I think, but in its own, unique way.

緋色月下、狂咲ノ絶 by EastNewSound (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UE2khbsBMos)
I have mixed feelings about this one: I really like it, but I can't decide if it fits Flandre's character or not. Seems like it does to an extent.

Sweets Time Midnight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Vz2AEJFVtg)
Nearly my favorite arrange of Flandre's theme, and a perfect representation of Flandre's character. There isn't much more to say.

U.N. Owen Was Her? by TAMusic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Zfy6cUo1wM)
My favorite version of U.N. Owen Was Her?. It's really just perfect in so many ways.

Personally I often find that videos in my favorites have been taken down, which is annoying. I just copy+paste the titles to look for later though =\

Bad bot detection according to tags.

Used to play Runescape, one video was a bit suspicious to some so I added that it isn't a private server(=illegal). Another demonstrated a completely harmless glitch which can't be abused in any way.

Both taken down through bot detection. Found out about it 2 years later.

Moral of the story: Don't play Runescape

So if anyone wants to have revenge on me, flag any of my videos.
Good thing I'm armed with several alts

Also, didn't Youtube ban nico uploaders because YT hates nico or something?

YouTube has also started automatically disabling the sound on any video using "copyrighted" music. Apparently the Chinese Red Army performing Michael Jackson's "Beat It" is hugely taboo.

They started banning them until they got hordes upon hordes of fanmail telling them to stop. They still do it, just not as often. Now it's more centered on (beaten) WMG copyrights and stuff like that.

also yes don't play runescape

Myonbel is a decent user who posts Techno Versions of Touhou Songs. He just found them and decided to make a playlist. And now he won't make any more videos. http://www.youtube.com/user/Myonbel (http://www.youtube.com/user/Myonbel) This is his channel.
He's not making any more?

Anyway, never liked his attitude, but his music taste was more than decent.

One down, and still a shitload more subscriptions left. I'll get around to downloading all his music one by one someday.

Anyway, as for me. I have two strikes, one because I subbed "Border of Extacy" by IOSYS and posted the uncensored version on Youtube. (Spanish version is still up, which means some idiot flagged the English one.)

Another because of music.  ::)

Yeah, I have alternate accounts, but meh. I don't really make videos for the Internet. I used to have a few on how I did lineart and stuff, but I just do livestreams instead now.

Alstroemeria Records - Of Memories (Okay, but too many loli vocals, and lacks a little variety.) 4/5
Syrufit - Where is Love (Very good and well arranged. Also, 3L kicks ass.) 5/5
Cytokine - Okay, but you would buy the album for the cover, not for the music. It's a little bland. 3/5

Where is Love - Syrufit
Download Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-piracy)

Ha! Gotcha!
The album is totally awesome. If you can, go buy it. It's totally worth the 1000 yen.

Especially great were the following:
02 Dream Bottom - Mei Ayakura
06 アモリタチテカミトミユ (Someone break this thing down.) 3L
07 Selection - Shiki
10 Last Lie - Mei Ayakura

Luvstruck wasn't as good as I thought it'd be, and imo, the lyrics are totally indistinguishable. Good luck for those who try to translate this. Very nice song, though.

ALiCE's EMOTiON's single song in the album sticks out like a sore thumb as the only hardcore song.

Where is Love - Syrufit

02 Dream Bottom - Mei Ayakura
06 アモリタチテカミトミユ (Someone break this thing down.) 3L

Both of these are mind-blowing. The first is just straight-up rock and roll, and really well executed. The second, though, really surprised and shows just how versatile Sayuri Anpo's voice is. The verse has this almost chiptuney sound to it, and she sings cutely there, but then it breaks down into some pretty heavy prog trance, and her voice takes on this otherworldly powerful tone. She does some amazing things with her voice in the bridge, too. Syrufit put this song together elegantly. He really composed a song that brings out everything she can do.

Eight and a half minutes of beautiful music.

Love that bass
Love that drum
Love that voice

And then... as if another song, *bam* Syrufit mixes the rest in (At 5:00), which includes the part in the video preview on their site.

Totally in love with this album, and swore eight months ago that I would never be able to review music.
Sayuri Anpo
Thanks for clearing that up. (http://vgmdb.net/artist/1210)

The song's based on Necrofantasia, if that's any help.

EDIT: Huh, it's a Shibayan arrangement, too. They're usually hit or miss and not as polished as this. They've come a long way.

Yeah, I know.

From アモリタチテカミトミユ I get Amori-tate-kami-to-miyu. =[

Breaking it up like this suggests that the title is Japanese and that it was just written in Katakana for effect, so maybe there's a starting point.

EDIT: I haven't listened much to Shibayan, I'll look more into their music soon.

Voice Blinded Color
Buy it for the art, listen to it for the music.

Now I said earlier that this one seemed plain, but Cytokine did have a really good song in "Where is Love" so I'm expecting this one's good at least. Not great, not excellent, just good. I don't know Cytokine.

Same goes with Alstroemeria, but I know this circle, and I know they're good, so I'm expecting good stuff.
I just checked their track list and it looks like they got songs from "Harmony" in there.

Syrufit (Studio Syrup Comfiture)
Replica - Released C78

So did you forget that this Comiket, Syrufit had two releases?
I like to think of this album as an extension of the other one (Where is Love) since this one seems to have received less hype due to not having a crossfade demo like the other one. They did have a crossfade. I didn't notice.

Song 06
私と少女と風と (Me, girl, wind) Rough trans.

Slick, beautiful, smooth, simple, and calming. No vocal, just a quiet 8:05 track that is excellent on the ears.

Currently listening to this album. It's pretty darn good. I think I like Syrufit now.

===================================================
I have yet to listen to:

Cytokine's Release, ALiCE's EMOTiON's albums 023, 024, 025, and Alstroemeria Recrods (Of memories)

Also, Triplet 3K. I listened to their preview on their site and it seems very promising.

I'm terribly sorry, but ever since listening to Syrufit's two releases, I don't think anything else from C78 comes close... It really is that beautiful.
[/size]

Anyway...
I've listened to:

Touhou Eurobeat
Cytokine - Voice Blinded Color
Alstroemeria Records - Of Memories
and others. I'll formally include a list later.

I haven't heard of anything ALiCE's EMOTiON was releasing this summer, hopefully I'll get around to doing that soon.

So for this post, I'll be reviewing Alstroemeria Records' Release.
Track 1: Forbidden Cube
There's a guy who goes "shit shit shit shit" as it echoes over and over and the volume is reduced~HAHAOLDCHAP
/voice sampling from external sources
Catchy, though.

Track 2: Dream Battle
Arrange of Reimu's theme. I tend to like mixes of this one a lot, and Masayoshi Minoshima seems to have a done a usual excellent job at this. Reimu's theme is actually pretty hard to kill, yo~

Vocal: Sakaue Nachi

Track 3: Romantic Fall
Arranger: Masayoshi Minoshima
Vocal: Mei Ayakura

At first I thought Mei's voice was similar to that of Misawa Aki's. (Mature and developed, as heard in her songs from Alstroemeria Records' C77 Release (Plastik World))

But I notice that there's a huge difference. Mei certainly has a much younger sounding voice.

Track 4: Fantasia
Arranger: Syrufit
Vocal: Mei Ayakura

A mix of Necrofantasia. I love these as well. Did someone tell these guys what my favorite Touhou songs were? *laughs*

Track 5: Pray for Answer
Arranger: Nhato
Vocal: Mei Ayakura

What did they do her voice this time? It sounds kinda weird.
I meant kinda weird and not kind of weird.

I don't like her voice in this one. =[

But the music is awesome. Just wish they haven't mixed the voice so much in this one.

Track 6: Fire
Arranger: Masayoshi Minoshima
Vocal: Mican

I don't like Mican and her loli voice. Masayoshi made an excellent composition of music, just to have her voice kill it.
/cries

UFO Stage 6 Theme. It is a powerful OST, and it's difficult to get that one arranged nicely. Why use such a weak voice!?
The song is beautiful, though.

Track 7: Magical Astronomy

Arranger: REDALiCE
Vocal: Nomiya Ayumi 野宮あゆみ

That's REDALiCE alright, and a mix of Eirin's theme, at that. Happy Hardcore. Freaking love this guy man. Saw his U-Stream where he talked Comiket.

Track 8: Faith Is...
Arranger: T+Pazolite
Vocal: Rizuna

Another mix of UFO Stage 6 Theme. This guy's very good at-------------
FUCK LOLI VOCALS AHHH SHIT

Now, don't get me wrong. Loli vocals are fine. Thing is... I stopped listening to Vocaloid for a reason. The pitch is too goddamn high that it pierces your ears. Rizuna has those lyrics where you sing and hold it. As I hear her trailing "aaaaaaaaaaaaa" my ear is going "aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

I will not listen to this song again.

Track 9: Loop
Arranger: Tsukasa
Vocal: 珠梨

This is another beautiful OST that is a wonderful treat to be arranged. The vocal is lovely, even more so after listening to Mican and Rizuna.

Guess what's better than one Touhou arrange? Using more than one, of course! Don't let the simple title fool you, this one's great!

Track 10: Tutelary
Arranger: Syrufit
Vocal: Mican

/oh hell no, vocals

Track 11: Of Memories
Arranger: Masayoshi Minoshima
Vocal: Sakaue Nachi

Can't make up a proper opinion on this one. I'd say to translate it first. It's a good closing song, but there's one more after it.

Track Final: Reflection, Flower View (Syrufit Remix)

Arranger: Masayoshi Minoshima

It says Syrufit Remix, but it's under Masayoshi Minoshima. I'm assuming it's a remix of a remix. =/

As usual, I don't like the closing songs much because it means it's the end of the album. I enjoyed it.

======================

Look guys... My main beef with Mican and Rizuna's voices is that they sound like they're from your sterotypical loli characters from your stereotypical Japanese eroge, which I have heard/listened to so many times and I've gotten sick of it so long ago.

The album's worth your 1000 yen (Now 1500...). The music is good, there's some variety, and it'd be best to not compare the album to the others ones. You won't enjoy it if you do.

Of course, best way to enjoy your music is to understand the lyrics as well. Get cracking and study Japanese.
EDIT: Fixed Sakaue's name. Thanks Jigglyppuff8

Syrufit - Replica

Quiet, smooth and nice chillout music. I like it a lot. Actually, the more I listen to it, the more I like it. I find myself listening to this one more than Where is Love, though I like the other one better.

You know, you really get the quiet feeling. The music doesn't try to blow that bass or anything. You might have a dance beat or two, but it's quite discreet.

I've mentioned 私と少女と風と (Track 5) before. There should be more of this. It's beautiful.

Sometimes it's not about wanting to jump madly with the beat of the music. Sometimes you just wanna chill. This is perfect.

WAVE's choral Border of Life remix on Archiv-East was the song that got me into the series, so it remains my favorite for nostalgia at least. Unfortunately that is way too much japanese stuff to scrape together with various translator websites so I can't even tell you what its called. Some of my other favorites (in no particular order) include:

- - -

This is far from a comprehensive list. I have a ton of favorites from a huge range of genres and circles. Every day I try to find a different Touhou remix on youtube to share with friends and family, and it is usually accompanied by a little review or a little bit of background info about the character or game.

Color of Life - XL Project
(http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/4189/foldernsc.jpg)
Oh, what's this!?
How pleasant!!! ^_^

And with everyone's favorite photographing paparazzi Tengu on the front cover!

I just got this recently as a gift from one of my friends, and I am absolutely loving it so far.

Oh my God it's a not a mainstream group so I shouldn't bother listening to it
Such bullshit will prevent you from listening to beautiful music! That said, give this one a try. It isn't hardcore/metal/classical, but it's catchy, enjoyable and you'll most likely love it more each time you listen to it.

Very stylish. And a small detail if you don't have adequate Japanese support... No mojibake when importing CD; everything is in English.

Track 01 - Introduction
Track 02 - December Sky
Track 03 - Newshound
Track 04 - Vanishing Point
Track 05 - Sky Dream
Track 06 - Yearn
Track 07 - Infinite Sunshine

Yeah, it's only seven tracks. I wonder how much was charged during C78...

As someone who spends most of his time touring the vast selection of remixes available for the Touhou games, I couldn't imagine passing up something by XL Project for the likes of Sound Holic. I've listened to a few of XL Project's songs and quite like their style. The only one of theirs that I actually know rather well, however, is an excellent rendition of Phantom Ensemble. It started out with a mellow theme played on the piano with a muted voice, and then for the chorus two minutes in, it jumped to the full volume. I guess it was a little unorthodox, but I found it sweet, sad, and just a little eerie.

My favorite group for the moment would be Seventh-Heaven Maxion. I am really loving the songs from their new album, and can't wait until I can afford to get my hands on it. While I've heard a few gems from ENS, SHM really delivers excellent stuff consistently. I can't remember listening to anything from that circle which I didn't like.

also: a remix of The Bet on Death (you know, the 5 orbs theme) would be cool as well.

and if you do find any, please post a youtube link/download (if it's from an album, don't post one)

彼岸帰航 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yvmj-CyIDvY)

Heavy bass, or maybe it's just my cans.
Really nice addition if you're a Dj for example, and you like mixing music.

It's not a whole lot, and it's not something I'd recommend you to buy, (Only six songs) but the songs are catchy and it sounds hip-hop-ish to me at first.

Not too much to look at, but give it a listen.

Hmm, "Guilty or Not Guilty".
I'd recognize the songs from Archiv-East any day.

Far East - Behind the Screens (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwSfd8K9zt0)
Midnight March (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnxkLiSFgKc)
Dawn of East End (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t53rfvVXTsc)
亡我郷、反魂蝶、その華開花すること能わず (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq2Z4ZaTkt4) (song that I mentioned in the other post)

Going through these was so nostalgic. These were among the first touhou songs I'd search through. Some of them are really epic, others are quite calming. I can't say I like every single song on Archiv-East but they definitely have a few real gems that make the rest worth it.

----

Also, there are a few other vocal remixes of Sariel's theme now besides Unlucky Morpheus. SHM did a remix of "Now Until the Moment You Die" which hasn't yet been posted on youtube but is on their newest album.
Sound Online did a remix of "Civilization of Magic" with the assistance of Alstromeira Records which you can find here: Civilization of Magic - "Death Will Take You With Me" arrange (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgbsCk5lwBQ)
If you don't like fuki's style, this is probably a good alternative. Personally, I feel that Unlucky Morpheus's version is more appropriate, but not everybody likes the style (and to be honest, I'm not always in the mood for it, myself)...

Album: TouHou JeuxInterdits (not bothering with the weird capitalization), TouHou Faithful Star
Artist: It says IOSYS, but it's really just minami
Release(s): March, July

minami is amazing. Honestly. Metal + Touhou sound amazing. Just listen:

Aside from the fact that the description of the song spoils the extra boss of Fairy Wars (which was already spoiled for me, so w/e), I quite like this one. I was wondering when aghart was going to start uploading remixes again... although personally I liked Heart of Glass (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xZUVnD9m8Y) better. It may be the same circle, but the style is quite different. The intro eases into soft, subdued vocals with a mellow piano backdrop. As it progresses, more instruments come into play with the return of the strings and a little bit of a beat. They flow with the melody with a sound like an old love song. This is far from what I'd expect from a Cirno remix, but its quite a pleasant surprise... overall, a beautiful composition.

Aghart also uploaded a subbed ENS remix called Intense (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0ciUVTRv0o). Chances are you've heard it before as it was on their C78 album, but the flavor ENS brings into their works is unmistakable here. There's a little bit of engrish sprinkled in here, in the intro and at the start of each verse, and the techno is composed quite effectively. The echoing vocals add to the sound, as they go back and forth between the voice and the instruments. The end of each verse ends on a high note, and definitely marks the most memorable piece of the song. Of course, to make it even better, aghart's put together some excellent art to go with the song. As for the lyrics, well after that one Alice remix (and that after that one Flandre remix) I don't put too much effort into interpreting the words to ENS's songs. :V

O-Life Japan is a great arrangement group, as well as Golden City Factory!  I have all of O-Life Japan's albums, and every single one of them is incredible!  Their choice in instruments, how they use them and the numerous genres they span....  I truly... LOVE them...  I have two of Golden City Factories albums (I have two more but they are in silly TTA format), I have a really good techno-y album by them called "Last Celebration DSP TOHO BEST REMIXES"  and another album named 猫物語-ネコモノガタリ-... it's a jazz album and it's GREAT!  I also listen to a Ska group called EcN.  Everyone go look those people up!

I don't know if it was posted before, but this is a remix of yumeko's theme. I love her theme! It sounds so eerie and creepy at the start, but it gets more animated and cheerful from 0 : 48 to 1 : 11. I think the title "Doll's misery" doesn't suits the theme. This song doesn't reminds me of dolls. It's more about death, blood, misery... etc. But it's good enough for a great character like Yumeko. If she ever returns someday, this remastered version'd be perfect for her main theme.

I always thought it was a sort of metaphor. That said I wasn't entirely sure how it quite fit her character. She's the greatest of Shinki's creations, and the most loyal. The pre-boss dialogue makes it quite obvious that Shinki didn't expect Yumeko to cut in, even if she trusted her to be quite capable in any situation (and is later startled to find that you were able to beat her). In terms of personality, she seemed more of a martyr than she was grim. Maybe doll refers to her status as a servant and misery just fits the theme of Makai being a world of demons. Or maybe I'm just over-thinking it.

Anyway, SHM had done a vocal arrangement (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EMJo_KCLqE) of this theme. Its not one of their best, but its still rather good. The intro is a little odd, but then the electric guitar kicks in. The vocals go from a couple levels above a whisper to a breathless string of lyrics. Their hollow sound together with some synth sound effects help to compensate for the heavier elements of the other instruments. Of particular interest is when the chorus kicks in with a layered voice. Overall, it may not be the best exploration of this theme's potential, but it fits rather well with my memories of fighting Yumeko (and doing poorly) in Mystic Square.

And so with you two providing these arranges I question myself...why haven't I paid attention to this arrange?

It gives off a feeling of death...misery...madness. It's creepy...but amazing.

I usually don't pay much attention to PC-98 tracks, but I love the remixes! This one is basically how her theme'd sound like if it was from windows.

I think you're over-thinking, Zun doesn't give much thought to those kind of stuff, and that was just the name of a PC-98 theme. Back in the past, touhou didn't had that much in depth.

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I think I've found the best classical Touhou album ever.

Eastern Piano & Ensemble -The Concert for Crimson Ladies- by Clonesoldier's Factory
(http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/3496/epe.png)

I think this is the first album I've heard where I loved every single song on it. In fact, I'm going to review all of them.

1. The Maid and the Pocket Watch of Blood (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keJ3yznPc4o)
A fantastic introductory piece, one of the best arranges of Pocket Watch I've ever heard. It starts with an upbeat orchestra, then at the 1:09 mark it goes into the best part of the song: every set of instruments in the song gets a solo run-through of the chorus, then returns to the orchestra playing the rest of the song. The chorus returns at 2:48, and then the song ends with a gentle crescendo. The entire song is innovative and brilliant, and is definitely one of the highlights of the album.

2. AN ORDEAL FROM GOD (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkm00POhvj8)
I'm not familiar with the original song for this one, but that doesn't change the fact that this is still one of my favorites on the album. An epic march that easily reminds me of some of the older Final Fantasy soundtracks (6 in particular), broken at the 1:56 mark by a graceful calm. The listener takes a moment to reflect on the beauty of the surroundings for a moment before they continue on their march, reaching a grand crescendo at the 4:30 mark that lasts for the rest of the song.

3. Bloody Moonlight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7A83YIxQZM)
A beautiful piano arrange of Septette for a Dead Princess. Though I can't quite place why, it's easily one of the most beautiful piano Septette arranges I've heard. I don't have much else to say, because I'm really not sure what to say. Not the best piece of the album, but still exquisite.

4. Surprising Umbrella (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YppsQTG7rNI)
I'll admit it. I was surprised to hear such a grand and epic arrange of Kogasa's theme. It doesn't waste any time in catching your attention, starting with an exploding orchestra, then moving into a quieter, tension-building portion. Though it repeats this immediately after, it never really loses the flair it had the first time. Then, around the 1:30 mark, it moves into the gentle, bouncy chorus, building upon itself gradually until it reaches the finale, as grand as the introduction.

5. At Voile, the Magic Library (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMkIC-CMdWs)
Easily one of the best songs on the album is this piano arrange of Voile, the Magic Library and Locked Girl. A very dark and intense arrange of a normally more upbeat song, it holds your attention from the very beginning and doesn't let go until the absolute end. It conjures up images of one running through the labyrinthine Voile, being watched by hidden things in the darkness. If you have any appreciation at all for piano music, definitely listen to this song.

6. Paradise ~ Deep Mountain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qp0Ci2nKa9k)
A sharp contrast from the previous track, this one is a beautiful and upbeat arrange of the first stage theme of PCB. It starts off relaxed, with what I think are french horns and a harp, but quickly moves into the main tune with a full orchestra. The song is broken by a beautiful piano at 1:19, then gradually builds back up to the main theme at the 1:45 mark. The piano returns at 2:44, closing the track with the accompaniment of a harp.

7. Apparitions Stalk the Night (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kw-enLpeZo0)
Another highly inventive piano arrange, taking Rumia's normally upbeat theme and making it darker and more intense, fitting for a youkai that can make you practically blind before trying to kill you. It keeps the cheery, childlike original theme, but adds dark and heavy undertones, similar to track #5 on the album. Another favorite of mine.

8. Closed eyes ~ Critical Horrors (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmIR5FC76bs)
One of the best tracks on the album, a Satori Maiden arrange using a violin, a piano, and an old-fashioned organ. Probably the best Satori Maiden arrange I've heard, it starts off with a crash from the piano, then after a moment of silence, it slowly builds up with the distorted violin and organ in a melancholic, quietly wailing tune. The gentle piano takes over at the 2:17 mark, then is rejoined by the violin and organ a minute later in a beautiful triplet. At the 4 minute mark, it changes to an eerie carnival tune from the organ, reverting to the original tune soon after. It then seems to fade out with the piano, building up again with the violin until it reaches the 6 minute mark, where it becomes unexpectedly intense until the final part a minute later, finishing with the solo piano. Probably the most innovative track on the album, and a definite must-listen.

9. Refrain After the Lovely Great War (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBC1gD7KRco)
Another one that's unfamiliar to me, a calm, peaceful piano solo. It serves as a nice way to calm down after the previous piece of brilliance, but still stands perfectly well on its own.

10. Central Legend (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8CIKkUgZyk)
Picking up the pace is this exquisite arrange of Suwa Foughten Field, an epic piece befitting the feel of the original. Also of note is the howling wind starting at the 1:58 mark, a feature of the original that was kept in this arrange. I'm not a big fan of the original song, but that doesn't lessen my appreciation of this arrange at all.

11. Green-Eyed Jealousy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtTxmY01JR4)
Another piano piece, this time an arrange of Green-Eyed Jealousy with some Dark Blowhole thrown in for good measure. It's indescribably beautiful and emotional, perfectly befitting for the tragic character of Parsee. It starts with Green-Eyed Jealousy, building in intensity and becoming more and more dramatic until the 2:16 minute mark, where it gradually switches to The Dark Blowhole, a more dreamlike and hopeful contrast to the intense, sad first half, perhaps Parsee reflecting on her life before becoming the jealousy-cursed bridge guardian she now is. Like the first half, it gradually builds, but never loses its impact, fading out at the 3:48 minute mark. Green-Eyed Jealousy returns soon after, more gentle and subdued than the beginning, ending with a low chord to finish off the track. Another beautiful song in a symphony of fantastic compositions.

12. Flowering Night (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFwnrXA9ZTc)
Closing off the album is this innovative and fantastic arrange of Flowering Night interspersed with Luna Dial. It starts off with quiet drums, but quickly reaches intensity with strings and brass. After a subdued run-through of the main tune by a single violin, the song crashes in at the 1:20 minute mark with a full orchestra. The rest of the song is a rollercoaster of changing intensity and instrumentation, never losing pace. At the 2:50 mark, Luna Dial starts to come in, gaining its own time in the spotlight until the 4:04 mark where Flowering Night kicks in again with a lively viola, building into a crescendo at the 5 minute mark that slowly fades out. A perfect end to a fantastic album.

So, that's Eastern Piano & Ensemble. I would definitely recommend it to any fans of classical Touhou arranges, and would rate it a perfect 5 out of 5 stars.

Go listen to it. Now.

I swear, shame of me for not visiting this thread often! >_<

The Maid and the Pocket Watch of Blood: Hnn... Overall, it doesn't sound too introductory, but it does strike a "We're just getting warmed up. The fun's just getting started!" :3

An Ordeal From God, OhMyChicken, this is.........!! :*
Being a little unfamiliar to the overall tracks of FF6 (and not sounding too orchestral but instead SFC/SNES-ish) albeit a was-avid fan of the series, I'm instead recalling *snap snap* Arrgh what's that old-school SFC/SNES game... Ah! Donkey Kong 2's epic Pirate-y track (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wjl4V_G8Fws&p=D3D6F547DEE47F1B&index=3&feature=BF)!! >/////////////<
...Shame that I cannot also associate it with that certain original Touhou track >_<;;
.........Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehh~~~~~!! :*
/me rapidly waves hands up&down

Bloody Moonlight
Refrain After the Lovely Great War: ...|D (?whatever that means, it just passed my standards and I was able to enjoy it normally and in a relaxing way)
Squiddie: This is an arrange of The Refrain of the Lovely Great War from TH12.8 ~Fairy Wars~ :3

EDIT:
Paradise ~ Deep Mountain: Muh, how did I miss typing this one? o_o
I liked the Deep Mountain's arrange, too! >w< (enjoyed it normally)

Apparitions Stalk the Night: Yeah, a dark, child-ish Rumia theme. I can definitely imagine the player being played with by Rumia in the darkness, in one of those non-talk musical dark delusional cartoons or something, transferring from one delusional place to another, the player constantly running for a way out and for his life.
?I dunno, half of it is good [start, 2:18-3:16], half of it sounds...well, not really bad, but..... >x<;;

Flowering Night: ...Well, at least the violins doesn't sound like the violins of Critical Horrors.
Grand |3. It's a little confusing, as it doesn't sound so end-of-the-album-ish until the very end of the track.
I think it's alright, though.

The following and the unmentioned rest didn't strike me as much :x

Closed eyes ~ Critical Horrors: The arrange is, well, pretty nice. It goes well with the album.
[3:58] The violin starts playing, yes, carnival-like tune, but a mis-tuned one (for me, at least).
?I-is it bad to say that the violin's sound quality itself is a turn-off from the very start to me? :ohdear:

Central Legend I would've liked the arrange overall, if not for:
Green-Eyed Jealousy: The start & end was nice ;_;
GAAAH!! Squiddie, you owe me 4 hours of my life! >XV No, just kidding, I love you for sharing this album! >/////<

I'll give it 4/5 stars, +.5 because album cover (that artist is pure awesome in itself! >////<).

I didn't eargasm so much as I kinda expected, but yeah, it's still great overall. I think I've labeled Clonesoldier having obvious MIDI-ish elements before though -- I'm still sticking to it.
From the stuff I am able to create with VST's, my instrument standards have risen, and is now sensitive to constantly-sounding instruments and non-variating volumes.
But darn, the arrangement itself is......... ahah~<3 >///////////////<

...Sometimes, it's hard enough to think if the one you're listening to are just synthesizers or real instruments... though I guess there's no point in thinking hard about it -- just enjoy it, I guess :3

Way back in the thread, someone mentioned their dissatisfaction at most of the Touhou circles listing themselves as just "vocal" CDs. It extends into their circle cuts in the event catalogs. Sometimes you'll get people who are a little more specific, but most of the descriptions are "rock," "band," "vocal," or "techno/trance." It can be hard to find good new stuff.

But anyway, I am APPALLED at the lack of house and jazz in this thread. Everyone's going crazy about the rock or the metal or the hardcore or the classical or the what have you, but I guess it's up to me to represent. I mean seriously, not even a mention of Swing Holic besides a dig at A~Ya and her Engrishy voice? Swing Holic is good stuff, mostly because they actually use real instruments in their jazz. Another of my favorite jazz circles is Tokyo Active NEETs. They make killer medleys and their other stuff is awesome too. The best part is that the three live instrument players play the violin, the trumpet, and the keyboards.  Here's their arrangement of Aya's theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fka3GHnyRJ0), but definitely check out the rest of their stuff.

Then, there's the ついったー東方部 or Twitter Touhou Club. Straight-up jazz piano arrangements. Check out Necrofantasia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdRS3DtXh3I) for yourself, but I also recommend everything else they've done. It should be floating around Youtube.

There's also Rythmique which is pretty good. They do a mix of vocal and instrumental stuff but the vocals are usually pretty solid and they do everything from R&B to house to jazz to "New Jack Swing." Have some UNZAN BEATS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zqyE596HVA).

But I'm saving the best for last. This is probably my #1 favorite arrangement of all time period to the end of history, an all-out amazing house remix of Border of Life. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqELvm0-nF4) It's long, but the build-up is so worth it and everything about it is just sublime. And pretty much everything else Hatsunetsu Mikos does is golden. Sometimes you can barely tell they were based on video game music.

And O-Life Japan gets an Honorable Mention because they actually did an honest-to-goodness disco arrangement of Iku's Theme.

A-One is kind of like Sound Holic Lite but they do a pretty good job and they headed that amazing Toho Eurobeat CD so they have my undying respect. I wish more of it was uploaded to Youtube because China Gal is great.

I didn't mention Azure & Sands because they don't use any real instruments in their jazz arrangements. Yes, they're still good, but jazz needs to have that live feel to it otherwise it isn't quite right.

And for Halloween he's put up an outstanding remix of one of the most overused songs that incorporates a nursery rhyme, strong vocals that go between japanese and english without attracting too much attention or butchering the latter, and uses the melody to great effect.

And holy crap, it's fantastic. As shown by the lyrics (http://kafkafuura.wordpress.com/2010/10/19/ria/), it's about Utsuho when she swallowed Yatagarsu. It's also one of the few arranges I know to use sirens, which adds perfectly to the song. And then it all ends perfectly, literally falling apart. Definitely one of my favorite arranges of Utsuho's theme(s).

The New Kimino Museum version isn't bad either. In fact, it may take the place of the Liz Triangle one in my heart. As I see it, Those two, along with Buta-Otome, form the Holy Trinity of Touhou Vocal Pop.

All I know of is some piano sheets on youtube. You could try learning it by ear. If you know your notes, scales, progressions etc and such you should be able to work it out your self. Build your own sheet music for it :D

Being able to play by ear is just as important a skill as reading sheet music.

This would be perfect for a RTS menu theme. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfnktkc4BQU&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL)

This one hit it big on Nicovideo recently, and for good reason. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm12760467

Bump for all that is right and good in this world.

fromadistance.  spctrm.  Get everything from him.  I anticipate no album as much as I anticipate his next.

-these are personal preferences-
Pre-having-his-own-circle
calling (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jy6NGwRPPDg)
Garden (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0LxwGok8ac)
sigh (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34gELmC9Jwk)
First album
A Field of Clouds (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUizWm1ZQhg)
Eureka (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFv1bil9uDM)
Second album
Farce (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQVeDBF9_vU)
Worshipper (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSAlGDhtwbo)

I have a zip of everything he did prior to having his own circle.  Hit me up on irc or pm me; irc is better.

PS:
For those of you who know what I'm talking about, I'm going to say it.  I hope spctrm goes back to doing guest tracks regularly and full albums rarely.  His albums are coherent and excellent, but he's painstakingly thematic.  He confines himself to what fits the album rather than what fits the piece.   Or his whims.  This man's genius should not be tied down, not even by himself.

Please don't bump old topics.  This is outlined in the rules.  Thanks!
