Negative score?

I was browsing through replays and I noticed there was one with a negative score. How does one get their score to be below zero?

Irremovable Shackles has a bug where if you let the timer go down on it enough, the spellcard bonus will go negative.  Pacifist to it, cap it at the last moment, game over afterwards.

It also needs to be stage practice, since otherwise the negative bonus wouldn't be enough to counteract the stage 1/2 clear bonuses. I've done it before, though that was based on a replay SomeGuy712x had sent me earlier.
