Three explosions. Two spikes, And a block falling. Classy.

Aya nods. "Exactly. But what is the trick..."

You can't shoot Danmaku here, even using your own magic. It seems like its absorbed instantly... But for what?

You're not a jerk, after all.

They're normal. What were you expecting, Elf ears?

You let it all out. Aya is slightly surprised.

You jump on the damn trapless spot in frustration. Nothing happens.

Through stick proding, you find it's radius for activating is larger that the actual spike! If mostly through corners. The activation space appears to be more of a square. The spike itself is still rather large though, it's radius is probably a Chen or so. Its about two chens in height, too.

You don't think you're strong enough on your own to kick it over, it seems pretty well rooted.

The spike stays up for a bit, then drops down to shoot back up. You get Aya to try and get the skeleton off anyway. She pulls on it and... rips it off?

"Huh. This thing isn't a real skeleton. Made of rubber."

You think you'd need a bit more than a stick to try and dig that thing up.

Mackette has to be closer to see anything, and the Roc doesn't have X-Ray vision. They couldn't do much from the other side.

Well, given it appears to be fake, of course not.

You're not inclined to ask, something tells you she'd be opposed.

>Is there room to walk inbetween two spikes safely?

There could be, but there rarely are two spikes next to eachother. Usually an explosion or block next to it.

>So... the block traps consist of a block falling? Where does it fall from? What happens to the block after it falls? Use rock throwing to activate a block trap if needed, to investigate.

The block falls from the sky. After it falls, it raises back up and out of sight, just as quickly as it fell down. You imagine it must've fallen up. There is really no leeway on the activation radius of this one.

You've checked the perimeter of the donut shaped DEAD ZONE. You've got a pretty good idea where traps are, and except for that one spot, they're pretty close together. Its like a ring of traps...

You're not sure you could perfectly time a leap into a distant trapless zone, and you can't possibly clear straight outta the dead zone.

You've got no call on it. I mean, you don't even understand Time magic yourself. Every time Ran tried to explain it, you just kind of conked out around tachyons and time fluxs.

>Check for ON/OFF switch on trees nearby.

You're fairly certain the ground underneath it is rather crushed. No rocks in sight... Hey, that is another give away, ain't it?

Yeah, But you're not sure you could prepare yourself for the ground suddenly curving up, and it'd still be ramming into you, spiked or not.

No such luck, but you gave it a good try.

>Check the trees themselves, to assess the possibility of moving from tree to tree to get over the trapped region.

The DEADZONE has relatively few trees. You'd probably have to fly between them, and even given you have a tengu with you, that simply isn't possible in a zone with no magic.

"Well. Some kind of alternative path, if there isn't a way through this place. Its not magic, so she shouldn't be able to disable them from both sides without some kind of noticeable switch or something..."

>How wide of a radius have we searched? Is the Raven's home visible from here?

You've basically only searched the circumference of the ring. The ring appears to have a radius large enough to disallow your sight of anything except the bit of forest around her house, or the forest itself hides her house.
