NieR Gestalt/Replicant: Nothing is as it seems...
« on: April 23, 2011, 03:34:21 PM »
You, a scantily clad woman and a book, what could be better!
So basically, your daughter has a life threatning illness, and you are doing everything in your power to find a cure and make her life better.
but giant monsters called Shades threaten humanity's very existence, Oh my!

DIscussion, Discussion people! Yes you can talk about Replicant as well... Because I'm so nice :3

...ahahaha man, way to -terribly- shorthand it.

NieR for the record, is from Cavia and a direct descendant of Drakengard.

Not in the same manner of Drakengard 2, but still.

This should tell you a -great- deal what to expect. If not... pick the game up, It's terribly fun! : D

My brother got the Japanese PS3 version, NieR Replicant, and is interesting to see how the older man main character in it actually a younger boy who tries to save his sister (not daughter). This is the first time I've seen such a change of main character because probably difference of culture(?).

Though the in-game human models are quite ugly.

Ye apparently having a trap as the main character is too WHOOOOOOOO for Americans.
They really just should have been ballsy, focused on the original idea, and had more time for making a better game overall.

It literally is.

The 360 version in Japan has the father-version Nier as the main character, while the PS3 version had brother-version Nier.  This was under the expectation it would appeal to different audiences; hence the two different versions of the game (Although very little actually changed outside of that).

Interestingly enough, when it came stateside, it is father-version Nier regardless of system.

Also I really need to return to this game; I got it at Christmas, played through the mildly confusing intro, and then never picked it back up because I wanted to be sure I could really focus on it.

Fantastic game that is every game genre ever. Also, less discussing of Kaine's bits, please, more of how awesome the game is, say, how Weiss is totally not Alan Rickman.
