Just curious.
I hope this doesn't count as being in the wrong forum or something.

Notepad, though for a while I've been thinking it would be nice to make a Danmakufu definition thing for one of those more code-oriented text editors.

So there would be no more forgetting to capitalize MainLoop, or forgetting the order of arguments in a function, or whatever.

Notepad ++. Because of syntax highlighting

I'm against Notepad++, because the two experiences I've had with people using it previously ended up completely failing, because the creators (of N++) thought it would be a great idea to make the formatting PROGRAM SPECIFIC (some bloody how?) so that when you open it in normal notepad, it makes all of the text on ONE LINE and effectively makes any code completely break unless you have the program installed.

Maybe the coders did it wrong?

Notepad works efficient enough for me. I have heard of the handy features in Notepad but I am seriously not bothered with the classic one, so I stick with the original.

Notepad++, unsurprisingly.

Apparently every answer so far has had the word "notepad" in the program name. Wonder will this cycle break eventually?

Seems you had Notepad++ convert whatever was saved into Unix or Mac format or something if it outputted everything in one line on normal Notepad.

Notepad, then switched to Notepad++ about 6 months ago. I recommend everybody do the same, it's very useful even without a Danmakufu language definition. I've also never had anything like what MCXD said happen, even though I would switch back and forth between the two for a while.

Mind you, the code in question was saved by someone else. I supposed they could have been using Mac/Linux and my opening it on Vista didn't work.

They weren't clear on it though, and I still can't be bothered upgrading  :V

(I used to use Dev C++ :o, just for good alignment of segments)
However, a crash of my USB drive reveals that .c files are harder to recover then txt files. :P

So I switched to Notepad :)

Guess that'd be me.

I use Crimson Editor, which is a lot like NotePad, but thankfully has line count on the side. Pretty nifty.

Danmakufu IDE.

If it had one.

But it doesn't.

So I just use Notepad.

Files shouldn't be harder to recover than others, it only depends on the position of the file.

Also, I just switched to Notepad++
