>With an rather sluggish but coordinated movement, Patchy points to the mechanism on the other side of the table.
>"You start there."

>Recall the previous exam and how it went.

>It was about cooking, you think it was Sakuya's idea, basically you had to come up with an simple meal for lunch or dinner, the faster and the less materials used, the better.
>It went.... someday decently, yeah sure, you broken a few too many plates, and bent some tools, but you did it ! At least Kuya was a bit proud, Meiling ate the meal too.

>Examine Mechanism
>Go there
>Look for the scar of the wind  eye of the world  heart of the cards mechanism ... thing.

>You head there.
>It's the same as always, there is an glass input thingy that goes into a box with many small colored thingies that light up when you start, they are ordered in a column with the first 3 ones at the bottom being red, the 3 lower middle ones being orange, the 3 upper middle ones being green, and the 3 top ones being red again, your goal basically is to stay at the green area as well as you can and on a continuous manner, if you hit the maximum limit the machine will overload and will stop working for safety measures, well... this is the best your head could sum it up, it runs on pretty much any energy, so you can use your danmaku to power it.

>"Kay!"
>Kyuu

>"Yea but what do I have to do with it?"

>Before you even thought of it, Patchy already has an protective field around you, drat ! Too slow again !
>You hold back from saying such a redundant question.

>You take position and start !

>Alright, first, you gotta check how much energy each kind of danmaku feeds the mechanism and how consistent the energy is, so that way you can find an combination that will continuously keep it on the greens, what will ya try first ?

>A simple laser first is fine.

>You try a laser, well, it's a continuous flux of danmaku energy, it should clearly work right ?
>Well it starts well, the meter is steadily going to the green zone....... and.... out of it.
>You halt the laser, and with such the meter stays in the "overload" red for a bit before dropping off slowly.

>Recall what we used last time and its results

>Yeah... now that you recall, a laser didn't work back then either... Patchy said something like "It's an special kind."

>There are many combinations you could still try, too many...

>Recall what we did the previous time?
>How recently was the previous exam?
>How frequent are exams anyway?

>You can't recall *exactly* what you did before, it's quite a while ago, but you can recall that:
-If you can get the timing right, you could use non-lasery danmaku to keep it constant, with margins of variation of course, maybe 1 or 2 lights up or down.
-The bigger the danmaku, the more power it provides, and the same goes for the faster it is too it seems.
-The thingy seems to use something to store power in it, and consumes said power afterwards slowly.

>You did, it does some weird kind of reaction that seems to just release all of it's energy at once around, sorta like a firecracker, but with magic rather than gunpowder.

>Well... not that you can fit with danmaku... unless you think something up.
