Most of my friends don't really pay attention to my playing Touhou. They watch for a bit, then go back to their regular conversations. Not that I play Touhou in public often (don't like bringing my laptop everywhere) but still.

Back when I went to school roughly 1-2 hours before class starts, I used to play touhou on my friend's laptop a lot. Usually 12.5 or the ten desires demo. People would come watch for a bit and some would ask how that's possible. It's just mesmerizing sometimes. (when I'm not dying a lot on stage 1)

The rest... well, the first card they saw was "Deathless "Xu Fu's Dimension"". Which, of course, looks like a swastika if you've never heard of a manji. So now they call Touhou characters "Nazi lolis."

I ended up showing it to my boyfriend at the time, who always watched me play, I made him play it and he ended up being better than me at it and after that we spawned some horrible war between the two of us. We spent most of the time trying to knock each other off the high score list in the games and he kept picking on me when watching my replays in SWR.
Though I ended up showing him up when I beat the whole game.

My nephew and nieces watch me play it as well, I actually sat down with one of my nieces and taught her about the characters showing her pictures and telling her what they do.
After that every time she would see Chen she would yell at her to go away and would tell me to beat her up. She really liked Orin though...

Other than that I haven't really told anyone about Touhou because they don't care to much.

I showed one of my friends PCB the other day. She said it looked cool but when I asked her if she wanted to try it out, she said "Nah, I'll die really badly."


I then went to her house a couple of days later and she turned on her computer. Her desktop background was of Youmu. I got really really excited for a moment until she told me she just put it there because she thought it looked cool, but she knew what I was talking about when I mentioned Touhou so that means it stuck in her mind. There may be hope for her yet...

Me and my little cousin play Hisoutensoku on my laptop at the same time, crammed in on separate keys and usually ending up playing a Touhou version of Twister.
My little cousin always plays as Suwako "'cos she's cute and little and goes boiyoyoyoyoyoing~!" and I play as Utsuho, as she is the closest character to Orin in the game.
She tends to scream when I unleash Mega Flare or Giga Flare or even the C attack in which Utsuho fires some sort of triangle-y shaped ball of death with a black centre.
I have yet to teach her the basics of top-down shooters. Basic scenario of the first time.
Me: So, which difficulty do you think you're suited for? (Easy modo! Easy modo!)
Her: Hm... LUNATIC! I'mma lunatic, right? So it ought'a be easy for me, yeah?
Me: Mm.. sure. Totally, wouldn't doubt it. (You're so screwed.)

Her: NO! NO!! DO SOMETHING, UWAA! I CAN'T DODGE THESE, AAAAH, WHAT DO I PRESS? HOLY MOTHER OF MUSHROOMS (haha~) THIS IS TOO HARD! I'LL GO ON EASY, NOOOOOO!

Bear in mind... this was Imperishable Night. The easiest game IMO.

it's a few months old but well ^^

I just came to my friends house and he was playing Lost Viking in Starcraft 2... well he didn't do pretty well and was like "how the hell can I get the Gold Achievement in this".
I just asked him "need some help?" and finished that achievement in one try :V
He was like "wtf" and asked me why I can do this so easily. I showed him a video of PCB on youtube... He never asked again  :derp:
